[Q] Xperia L Internal screen has lines. - Sony Xperia L

Hi XDA,
I have a friend whose Xperia L, all of a sudden, has lines on his display. His screen is not broken. When a reset was done, the lines went away for a while but it came back. My question now is, is the warranty still valid?

Warranty is valid until you exploit the terms of warranty. i.e, Rooting...unlocking bootloader...or have damaged it due to negligent use of the device!
For any kind of clarification do not hesitate to take it to the service centre! :victory::victory:

So means its highly possible that is valid? It just broke all of a sudden. (He does not dare to root )

Warrantly will be completely valid.... unless he dropped it!!
Yet taking the phone to SCenter is the safest way out.........otherwise xda is always there to help!!

Maybe the screen is cracked internally. Or the ribbon cable is broken loose

I don't find hatsune miku cute
I think the phone should be sent to Sony for repair, and they'll be the ones to give the verdict. Have they appeared all of a sudden or you dropped ur phone and it got that
Remember: Warranty does not cover self-inflicted damages to the phone

One x glass replacement???

Well my phone dropped off my chair and broke the glass... Sucks...
Should I order the screen with the lcd or just the screen and digitizer??? Anyone replaced the screen yet??? I've done iphones and itouchs... Not a android yet...
TIA

In another thread somewhere here on XDA, someone covered this. Pretty sure he said to get both because separating the old and rejoining the new perfectly was near impossible. Search for the post to confirm.

Search.....just have HTC do it for $220. That's my STRONG opinion.
Screen and LCD are glued together. Can't replace one or the other

I actually just replaced both of them, just finished.
Turned it on and this is the screen I get:

Kinda rainbow noise. Did I break a ribbon or connector, or did I simply put it together wrong?
Any advice would be appreciated. Made a good faith effort as searching for previous threads with this specific problem and didnt see anything.

I fix phones for a side job.. it looks like the screen you got either arrived DOA with a damaged ribbon cable, or you damaged it or the connections inside when installing. Unfortunately, most places don't accept returns on equipment that has been installed and taken off.

Digitizer dying, stopped working in certain spots, and hot pixel

Just got home from school and went to unlock my HTC One X and did my usual pattern, and found out that it didnt unlock. What happened was I would go down at an angel from 1 to 9 and the screen would stop recognizing my finger. I tried again, and again and again and nothing. So I loaded up sketch book and decided to just draw lines from the top of the screen to the bottom and I found out the exact spot where the digitizer is either failing or not recognizing my finger.
Heres a picture of the drawning.

There is absolutly no physical damage to this phone, and I have had it since the day it launched.
Also noticed there is a hot pixel now, and what looks like another developing.
Anyone else ran into this?
1. Are you rooted?
2. If so, what ROM?
3. Have you dropped the phone lately?
4. Is the phone hot?

Yeah if you got the warranty for it at att. It was a few extra a month if you got it I think.

I have same problem too. I dont have warranty. I am curious, is this problem about software or hardware? So I am waiting Jelly Bean update.
I have insurance but that's through asurion... I have always gone through At&t for warranty replacements, I don't pay anything extra for at&t warranty.. I just call em

Wait what? AT&Ts warranty is free with a new phone under a year?
It does not matter if u got your phone from, amazon , Wal-Mart or att , if u pass the 14 day buyer remorse , att covers the warranty for 1 year for new phone , 90 days for re furb , they will want you to do a master reset on it, so call att n get tech support on the line. And then they will transfer you to WSC for replacement . Hope it helps

I've got a similar problem but the dead area on my digitizer is at the bottom of the screen where the options bar normally sits. The digitizer area below the screen (back, home, switch buttons) is just fine. This is one of the worst places though, since I can't press space on the keyboard (in portrait) and I can't pull up the digit keypad when in-call.
I'm planning to upgrade to the HTC One in a couple weeks, so I really just need a temporary fix. (I don't have insurance, and my screen is already cracked in a different area so a warranty replacement is out).
To get around this, I wonder if I could change the height of the screen that's available to the OS? I'm happy to try building a ROM from source (if necessary), does anyone have any suggestions for where I would find and change those parameters?

I just really hard bricked my phone

Motherboard still good? My usb port is broken so I need a new MB. If its still good would you sell it?
JEEZ!!!! Please go read the General Forum...
As someone mentioned before, please go reboot in to download mode.
From there you can use things like Heimdell One-Click and other goodies. Then flash a new ROM and your good! Your phone will be like new

OMG, JEEZ yourself and read the post. He broke his screen. Is Heimdall going to fix that? Is one click going to fix a broken screen? I must have missed that option in there.
The brick part was a joke that was lost on people like you who don't even read the thread.

I was kidding... there is no need to get all worked up... I thought I would have a little fun. Obviously I knew it was broken hardware wise.
I will see what I can do for parts though.

What is the background of this problem? What triggered this? Any ROM flashed? Or charged with a wrong charger?

nop was cleaning the sides of the display as there was some dust... cleaning with a soft brush , and haven't given any pressure on the switches or the area where the prob occurred.. its simply occurred when I tried to switch on after cleaning was done

Look on eBay. Its not terrible if you do the work yourself.
If you need to have a shop do it you will need to call one and get a price quote.
