Can you still boot into download mode?

what in the world did you do?

Lol, cracked screen. I am pondering if it is worth it to replace the screen. $65 for the LCD screen though.

Motherboard still good? My usb port is broken so I need a new MB. If its still good would you sell it?

JEEZ!!!! Please go read the General Forum...
As someone mentioned before, please go reboot in to download mode.
From there you can use things like Heimdell One-Click and other goodies. Then flash a new ROM and your good! Your phone will be like new
Hit thanks if I helped you with your issue, because I just did

OMG, JEEZ yourself and read the post. He broke his screen. Is Heimdall going to fix that? Is one click going to fix a broken screen? I must have missed that option in there.
The brick part was a joke that was lost on people like you who don't even read the thread.

Somebody with some soldering skills could fix that. I fixed mine and it was completely ripped off with the traces from the board and all.

I was kidding... there is no need to get all worked up... I thought I would have a little fun. Obviously I knew it was broken hardware wise.
I will see what I can do for parts though.

Unpleasant 'sensation' when swiping 'notifications'...?

I may be alone, but my thumb gets a quite unpleasant 'sensation' when I swipe 'notifications' at the top of the device, it catches on the glass below the speaker grill. It's so annoying I may have to take it back...anyone else notice this?
Hoping I posted in the right spot...
I haven't had a similar issue.

Nope. My ROM works great though and if this isn't AlphaRev I don't care.

It's where the glass meets the speaker grill, even my son noticed it, maybe it's not placed correctly, I'll have to try another to verify..
its yours', believe me. i've had 5 sensations so far and not one had that issue. exchange it.
I think you're putting your thumb up too high on the screen...
I feel a coarse area there, no reason to swipe that high though.. Not even registered on the screen.

You might be right, I'm so used to HD2 and iPhones, G2x, all swipe from the extreme edge...hmn maybe my habit..I'm reluctant to exchange it as it runs so well... I may have to compare at a local store...Hoping it's just one poorly placed screen...sigh, I love this phone...but can't live with the current swipe...
Maybe you should buy a bigger cell phone......

exactly, it's the way the phone was built, so I don't think a replacement is gonna help.
Kinda noticed it, but it's when you try to tap the "htc" logo on top. Just tap on the notification bar instead. problem solved

people lie man.but who knows
everything is possible.Hope die last.
Here in Spain it's possible. I swear.
I hear it's only possible if you're rooted.
Breaking news: Just heard my wife's sister was in the post office today and she was sitting next to a women who had been in the local library, and she'd overheard the greengrocer telling the butcher that he'd seen a documentary on Discovery where Winston Churchill recounted a tale of a story he'd heard about a time-travelling clam who'd spilled under interrogation that it is indeed possible.
If you take the original posting into account, you'll notice that one is incredibly random, and the other is a heart-warming story about a time-travelling clam.
wtf?haha
Churchill must had some rooted device too and coz of that i will change my mind and say its possible (wtf i'm talking about :S)
I'm not really sure if its possible yet any ideas

In my opinion, yes. You just need to select that menu, scroll down to the drop-down menu thing and select 'Possible'.
If the 'possible' option is not available then it would would appear I was mistaken.
volume down + home button + draw cycles 3 times with left hand and here u are
..certainly possible,
although you might need to switch 'Wax' on and then 'Wax' off..
I knew it!!!!

It also drains the battery like you wouldn't believe!

grainy screen resolution

Im sorry i have to admit that i did not search the forum first. Im posting from my phone and for some reason it wont let me search. Is there a problem with some of the phones screens looking grainy? Nothing looks sharp at all you can pretty much see every single pixle. Is this the expected quality of the phone or should i take it back to tmobile? Thanks for your advice in advance.
I have owned the sgs4g since before cwm was out for it and this is the first I have heard of this issue.

ok, these are what I got.. how you see it is how we see it when using the phone.
I've included the one with a flash because it shows it kinda better. Ignore the greasy screen

Flip, i agree it is hard to see but if you look at the first picture... At the top of the dock you can clearly see its not very smooth... When looking at peoples screen shots on here... Theirs dont look anything like mine. It is new and stock.. I guess im just going to take it into the store and see what they say.
Also.. In the first pic... You can see how you can see some red and blue... And lines... Thats not the camera... Thats exactly how it looks on the phone
Definitely take it back and let them know it's not supposed to be like that. My lines are very smooth, nothing close to what I see in your pictures. The misaligned lines in picture 1 is already good enough proof.

Hard bricks can now be fixed

]Ok since this thread http://forum.xda-developers.com/showthread.php?t=1359268&page=4 is not sticking out. Mabye this will...hard bricks can now be fixed........
Check it out
http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=AkJQAbwZjRk
From skimming it seams that we can't do it we would have to mail our phones out to the guy in that thread to do it for us?
thats right. But lets not turn this negative. So many people brick. And now there isba solution. Sure it sucks having to send it somewhere. But it is a solution. And if it was as simple as using odin or something. People would find a way to mess it up lol .
$50 beats a brick anyday. Sounds awesome. I have been rooting and roming for a while but have been a little bit more nervous with how expensive this phone is. This will make me a little more confident in flashing.
By the way. http://mobiletechvideos.mybigcommerce.com/samsung-galaxy-s-ii-skyrocket-brick-repair/

Oh I'm not complaining or turning things negative, just making sure I got the idea of the thread. I'm at work so I skimmed it real fast and didn't read all the pages. 600 for a new phone vs mailing a brick out is good.
It would have been easier to link to his specific site, or something rather than having to read through everything and find the correct link.

Well, it makes no sense, if the chip is fried, then why does it give the error code? The phone can't turn on or do anything when the chip is fried. As there is nothing to make the phone boot or even process, there is no power supply.
Don't know just what I heard. Maybe it isn't true

Motorola Photon 4G LTE Keyboard Mod

thought you guys might like my modification on the Motorola Photon Q on sprint. The buttons are just put on by sticky tape and this gave me the capability to move the buttons into different positions then i use black duct tape to cover all of the other button spots and you get this awesome Motorola photon q gamer edition!!!! this is just a picture i made on paint but i will post the actual version of it when i get my phone in 2 weeks

I just think its ironic its an unlockable bootloader and the first "Android Development" thread is telling people to duct-tape their phone.

When I had my G2, I didn't need to do this. I just used the default setup. LoL!!
I guess wii can do this if wii don't ever plan on using the Qwerty for actual typing. LoL!! Sorry, but this guy here hates software keyboards and software keyboards doesn't like him. That's why he always types 'b' or 'v' instead of space. And stock ICS Keyboard tries it's hardest to fix that too. LoL!! :silly:
Best first post in development thread I ever saw! LOL!
I'd love to see a little snap on cover that made this possible...I always end up mashing the other keys anyways, plus I'd want to retain normal keyboard usage.

When I get mine and perform a system dump, I plan on porting this over to this phone. That would be perfect with your Mod.
