ROM Manager, any version, is the wrong way to go about installing a recovery for any Optimus One device. My tool, Android Flash Recovery ( link is in my signature ), and LGMDP are the safest ways to install a recovery for these devices.
You can download CWM 5.0.2.7 for P500 here.
Android Flash Recovery and LGMDP both require LG's official drivers to be installed. Both are Windows only applications.

Yes. Once CWM recovery is installed you the use the recovery to flash ROMs and patches. You can use CWM or any other recovery to flash another recovery too. Just remember to make 100% sure that it's for your device.
Sent from my LG-P769 using Tapatalk

ROM Manager is OK but only places old versions of CWM. Newer ones need to be flashed from current recovery (zip files) or flash_image command or flash image app if img files.
LGDMP? Watch out.

Yes it's rooted and rom manger Not works
If it tells you that the signature is invalid, then it probably is: Most likely your download was corrupted, or your SD card, or ... well, it could be any number of things:
Try redownloading. If you can locate a checksum for the download: Use it!

Means which recovery ? How to download signature verification recovery ?
It's not a tool, it's an option inside ClockworkRecovery.
Where to download clockwrok recovery ? Can u tell me which thing I need ? I don't about this ? My phone is running on official stock 2.2.1 android and it's rooted .. Now I just want to install custom roms .. So can u please tell me what to do now ? Step by step
Ah, there's the problem. You need a tool to install the ROM... the standard recovery tool will only allow you to install firmware signed by the device maker. The usual order to install a custom firmware is this:
1. Root
2. Use root to install a recovery tool, for example ClockworkRecovery, via ROM Manager (you can find that in the market)
3. Use that to bypass the vendor signing requirement and install the new ROM
But I've got to ask: you're having all these problems already... do you really think a custom ROM is the right choice for you? I'm struggling sometimes and I have years of IT experience.

Change your thread title to something usefull...
in order to install a rom you need to have a custom recovery installed first witch is not the bootloader. there are several guides on how to install roms on the milestone so i suggest you start reading around in the motorola milestone forums. Also if your new to all this i would defiantly not recommend miui as your first rom.

I've used "ClockworkMod" and got errors, sometimes it doesn't do a good job wiping/formatting and mounting the sd in recovery doesn't work too good.
Never got those problems using "AmonRa_3.06_Recovery_ThunderG"
I want to flash CWM 5.0.2.0 on my Friend's LG Optimus P500.
We have rooted the phone yesterday.
Can you tell me the steps used to flash this recovery as I have flashed it on my Galaxy Ace but don't have any knowledge regaring O 1.
Is it safe ?
Reply would be appreciated

Does LG O1 does not come with its inbuilt recovery as we can then just flash the CWM from it, I use Samsung Galaxy Ace and we have Stock recovery in it and I flashed CWM from there only.
amon_ra 3.06 is the most stable and convenient..in flashing and in backup..

That depends on what rom it has installed,
old baseband = froyo stock rom or custom rom based on that baseband
new baseband = gingerbread stock rom or custom roms based on it
What rom dose your frend have installed and if gsm is working on that rom,
if is a custom rom just search to see what baseband is that rom using and youll know,
What is the shortcut to go in amonra recovery it is the same as clockwork mod Power+Volume+Home ?

[q] windows 8.1 htc sensation xe assistance.

Dear XDA members,
I was using the revelation ROM Jelly bean 4.1 when I decided to backup my ROM using rom manager. This led the rom to somehow being corrupted. Thus I wiped the ROM and installed Sultans Kitkat ROM. My device S-ON but has an unlocked bootloader. So i formatted and flashed the new rom but when i connected it to my computer to fastboot flash boot the boot.img my device was not being recognized.
This is because my Laptop was upgraded from win 7 to 8.1 via a full clean installation thus deleting my fastboot adb drivers and the sensation drivers.
I have managed to install the adb drivers but whenever i connect the sensation it is not being recognised. Can someone please assist me as the device can't boot without flashing the boot.img.
Thanks!!

Hi,
I had this issue as well. I resolved it by installing this fix: http://support.microsoft.com/kb/2917929 . Try that, reboot and see if it works. If not, report back here. Also, try using USB 2.0 instead of 3.0.
Apparently the said update is already installed on my computer. I have tried both USB 2.0 and 3.0

Cannot install rom due old recovery version

so guys i tried to install one of those KitKat roms but it always failed to install. Then i realised that my 4ext recovery version is 2.2.7 (latest is 2.4.6) so there are two ways to fix this problem, but i don't know how because i don't have any android on my device install
1) find a rom that is compatible with this old recovery
2) somehow update the recovery via recovery menu.
Thanks in advance and sorry that i'm noob with rooting lol

$ext recovery updater from

once downloaded install it and run it, select update recovery and it will ask to connect network... click yes/ok and download latest recovery, this will itself install latest 4ext recovery on ur phone from android itself without even booting/computer assistance,
