Hey hey,
Many people here have a S2Plus. Since the update the lockscreen has become smaller which people don't really like. Is there a way to resize it back without losing the update?
Thx

Same here.
Since my s2plus has been upgraded to 4.2.2 I find my startup keyboard for unlocking my simcard far too small. I have to use a rubber end of a pencil to enter my 4-digit code.
I also wonder if there is a way change this layout in a bigger keyboard

Hey bro,i know about this. I am not going to do it by myself because it will take a lot of time. But i can give u some instructions for making it bigger. Decompile framework-res.apk and then smali and from there lockscreensettings.smali. open it using notepadd++ and then find lockscreen there. You will get number of lines. You would have to deeply look into them for finding keyboard and its layout. Making changings will require a lot of time. But you will surely get the fruit. I hope you got my point.

Hello i9003 developers!
XXJVU for i9000 have face unlock
How Porting face unlock to KPQ ?
it's realy ?
It's unuseful... Developers should think to optimizate the kernel instead of port the Face unlock...

ICS / CM9 is a better thing to focus on.
But it is useless? It's a good idea. We will not be less than the i9000 users
i9000 users have learned it's not perfect yet, especially in darker areas, so in most people's opinion's it's a waste of time.
Better focus on porting ICS first before doing the face unlock. its easier to port one at a time.

it's hard to use at night man. at daylight its okay but as i say its useless at night. for example i use video calling at some nights but even under the spotlight it shows me in darkness. barely seen.
focusing on ics/cm9 is more important

I don't think theres any use porting Face Unlock to KPQ because the value pack that is going to be released for i9003 will probably have that anyways . Speaking of value pack, where the **** is it?!?

Ever wanted to know who has tried snooping into your phone while you were away. Your friends or family member might have tried to unlock your phone while you are away. HiddenEye is a simple app with no frills that will photograph the person when they try to unlock your phone. You can set it to sound alarm when a user tries to unlock your phone without your knowledge.
Now you can see who is trying to use your phone while you are away. Once you unlock your phone, you will be shown the photographs of the people who tried unlocking your phone in your absence. Sounds interesting ! Try it and let us know if you have any suggestion to improve it further.
Worried that your phone does not have front camera. With HiddenEye, now you can know the someone has tried to snoop into your phone. You can also set alarm if someone is trying to unlock your phone with wrong password. If you have a front camera, then you can see who tried unlocking your phone.

Neat app but im never away from my device....were connected at the hip
Nice!
One small beef though. If someone does get the password right eventually, then they see the app first thing -- even with it unchecked.
Kind of eliminates the point. Easy fix for you, I'm sure.

Any device restrictions? Besides the obvious without front facing cameras...
Yep, that's better.
Thanks!
Also, I have an idea. Any way to have it so it takes a pic anytime someone unlocks it? Even with no password and just the swipe unlock? With an on/off switch.
Reason being -- I don't use a password or lock on my screen, but I do want to know when someone goes into it. So let's say I leave my phone on the charger while taking a nap --- I turn it on before I snooze, then check it out upon wake - turning it off after I'm done reviewing.

No device restrictions. For devices without front camera, you can still use the app and get to know someone has used your phone will your are away. You cannot see their real pictures. You can also set notification and alarm on consecutive failed password attempts..

You simply need to edit your build.prop and add the line qemu.hw.mainkeys=0. You can use any good editor in Android to do that, or Build.prop Editor.

You can also go one step or two further by disabling the backlight on the keys at the bottom AND even disabling them completely (nothing happens when pressed).
Disabling the lights will need a custom kernel however.
How can I disable the keys completly? I'm on cm 10.1.

Once again, for them not to light up, it's necessary you have a kernel that supports BLD.

I'm looking for an easy way to do this, maybe i'll flash the simple kernel for this purpose.
I'm doing this cause my softkeys are not properly functioning, most of the time there are only 2 of 4 visible, and my warranty is expired.
The navigation bar can be a good alternative i think!!

Not a big fan myself, the Nexus S is rather "small" for today's standards and the navigation bar takes quite a bit of estate. But working around your problem without wanting to physically repair it, I believe that works.

Unfortunately i have to agree, i don't like that solution too, cause the screen gets smaller than it's real size.
But to be honest i do prefer to apply a "patch" like this more than paying half the value of a 3 years old device to repair it...
I'll also try to flash a kernel with the bln mod and see if i can get used to use the device with no navbar and no softkeys light.
Thanks for your help!! :good:
Searching on the forum i found that should also be possible to decrease the navbar height!!
it would be great, but i saw the procedure, and i'll never be able to do it ... :S

[XPosed Mod] HiGoogle - "Hi Galaxy" phrase opens Google Now instead of S-Voice
I present to you: my first ever XPosed Mod HiGoogle!
It's really my first original android app. The first one I didn't follow some sort of tutorial to make anyways. It opens Google Now natively when you say "Hi Galaxy" instead of the crappy S-Voice app. It took me forever to get this done, but in the end I learned a ton about how both Android and XPosed work. :good: So w00t for me, :good: chalk that one up as a personal accomplishment.
Anyways, it still needs S-Voice to run. S-Voice is what controls the always listening feature of the phone. in the future I plan on changing that, and perhaps changing the trigger phrase as well (fingers crossed!) So while we can't get rid of S-Voice yet, this removes the need to use a middle-man app like tasker to open it, which in the end, makes things a hair faster (and $6 cheaper.) I think we can all agree that faster is better.
So while it's not the perfect solution yet, it's a move in the right direction and hopefully more will come of it.
This has only been tested on 2 Notes so far, a T-Mo and a VZW, but it should work on any Samsung with 'Hi Galaxy" always listening support. I'm personally on version 11.2.2.0 of S-Voice but I'm not sure if that matters. Report any issues or and I will try to deal with them as fast as I can.
It's not my fault if you break stuff.
:good: <------ Hit my donate button and buy me a bud if you like it!:good:
Here's the sauce: https://github.com/Bots/HiGoogle

No, currently it just opens Google Now over SVoice, as SVoice is what controls the service that listens for commands. I'll look into that though it's a good idea, I may be able to kill the app but leave the service running.
oh so sad so so sad... i thougth you are a magician and managed to change the Voice recognition phrase...The developer Skilllevel for that is like getting knox from 0x1 to 0x0....from what i've heard
There are already apps for your purposes. I use S for Switch Voice
But thank you very much for your developing and sharing. :good:
Instead you maybe could try to get the "OK Google" command working for German and every other language. Because when google fails with recognition you have to grab your phone and tap on the mic button or wait until the screen shuts down. It is only possible when Google now language is english. This is something which really annoyes...

That all depends. I found some type of file that looks like it might be some kind of a raw audio or a wav file possibly. I'm digging deeper into Samsung's code whenever I have time trying to understand what's going on. I'm gonna have to keep studying before I can get to that point, but I think that will be part of the natural progression of the updates to this app. Has Chainfire done any work on this?

No not that i've heard of. Today i recognized that the "Google Now launcher" works with "OK Google" in german. So maybe you can find something when making a code comparison to use the OK Google command no matter how your phone and or googles now language is...

As of now, overhead.
This mod will rid you of one extra service running on your phone compared to those other apps. If all you want is Google Now instead of S-Voice then this is probably the better solution. If you want a bunch more options, use one of those other apps. I have more plans for the future but I was super excited to release my first contribution to the community :victory:
I think is a great idea. I for one have been using an app called S for Switch Voice that overrides SVoice and launches Google Now. It works great and dont have any problems and doesn't cause much or at the very least battery drain. But im willing to try this.

I welcome the change.. Was not very natural feeling on the edge when taking landscape photos. But having the option to change between the two choices would please more people.
