How Porting face unlock to KPQ ? - Samsung Galaxy SL i9003

Hello i9003 developers!
XXJVU for i9000 have face unlock
How Porting face unlock to KPQ ?
it's realy ?

It's unuseful... Developers should think to optimizate the kernel instead of port the Face unlock...
Sent from my GT-I9003 using XDA App

ICS / CM9 is a better thing to focus on.

But it is useless? It's a good idea. We will not be less than the i9000 users

i9000 users have learned it's not perfect yet, especially in darker areas, so in most people's opinion's it's a waste of time.

Better focus on porting ICS first before doing the face unlock. its easier to port one at a time.

it's hard to use at night man. at daylight its okay but as i say its useless at night. for example i use video calling at some nights but even under the spotlight it shows me in darkness. barely seen.
focusing on ics/cm9 is more important

Did he even ask any of you for your suggestions on what he should work on?
Just answer the question if you know , or stay shut.

call me a smartass or whatever, but he left the last question open. I interpret it to be "it's really useful?", hence my answer of no. if he wants, he can come back and clarify what he intended to ask

Probably he means to ask , is it really possible to port?!
And you haven't much suggested to work on x project or some ****, so my above post obviously doesn't apply to u. :-D

1. His question / sentence / whatever is open to any interpretation.
2. Read it again... he's asking for someone's / anyone's opinion.
3. "stay shut"... seriously? Gotta learn to not take things so personally kid.

After all the work....
Yes face unlock is not very usefull....but it is fun....
Its true that we r having more imp. Issues...
i still remember there was a thread started in out forum...long time back...speedinessbeast
It was having that feature...faceunlock.....but very buggy......i guess so

lol I AGREE.. it's sort of ridiculous even

I don't think theres any use porting Face Unlock to KPQ because the value pack that is going to be released for i9003 will probably have that anyways . Speaking of value pack, where the **** is it?!?

All that people who are agains porting a lockscreen are against android development, and thats why I dont understand what are they doing in a development thread. U know how to port?? Ok then help him. U dont know how to? Say thanks to him for trying or shut up. U dont like the idea? U dont like development...so just shut up. Keep it up frank, good job man,

you can have the faceunlock from galaxy w.i have tried the files and the preview is showing.you have to use settings.apk also for getting faceunlock option in settings.
but due to the camera overlay problem it will not take the picture of our face.

@vivekkalady What did u exactly used from galaxy w? Settings.apk and what more? I imagine camera.apk and some libs... I ask this because we could try those files from:
Samsung I9000 Galaxy S.
Samsung I9001 Galaxy S Plus.
Samsung I9003 Galaxy SL.
Samsung I8150 Galaxy W.
Samsung P1000 Galaxy Tab.
If u told me I could make some combinations to see if it works

[App] Suggestion: Flashlight app for flash-LED

Since the flash LED is almost useless for the camera application... maybe someone can come up with a small flashlight apllication for it in a touchflo/diamond layout?
Has anybody tried VJCandela? You never know it might work??
Cant try, aint got my Raph yet.

Just tried v0.3. Sorry to report it does not work But I'm sure someone on this forum will have a flashlight working for us soon enough I think that's all the camera light is really good for anyway.
anyone have an answer for this?
Just wondering... of course, as usual: "after the fact":
The battery on my car was dead, and yesterday I planned to rplace it with a new one... However, in my garage the lighting is awful, and I could'nt find the screws and bolts... ended up calling the mechanics, to come and boost my battery....
An app like this would have been very usefull... would have saved me about 40 Euro's...

zhuk7, we can't read minds. You have to tell us what you are talking about.
The iFlash works with iPod connection, so it won't work on the Galaxy S obviously.
i know that iflash is only for ipod conection. I`ve asked if there are something like iflash but for Galaxy S

I misunderstood your first post.
The main trouble lies in interacting the flash with the camera app. While the iphone is capable of this, I don't think android can do it just yet.

Could there not be just a way to connect t something like this to the device and then manually turn on the flash as needed when taking a picture? I know that seems a bit archaic but it should work.
You know... On a switch or something? Perhaps a timer?

That would be difficult. We are talking about a xenon flash right? Not a LED? You need near perfect timing between the (electronic) shutter and the flash.
it will be good even if we get something with a led, or we can just tie a flashlight to our i9000

MIUI Questions, Tips and Tricks

Like it says folks.
This is my first MIUI ROM and so far I'm impressed by the features it offers. I hope that users with more experience with it will let us not so experienced folks in on some of the secretst of MIUI. So in an effort to keep the DEV thread a little cleaner(an idea I kanged from LUMIN) here goes.
My first trick if you will was figuring out I could restore apks straight from MIUI fiile manager. Sweet. Fully restored phone without using market at all!
Just found this and thought it might be usefll to some:
http://en.miui.com/a-10.html
Idk if you count this as a trick but if you install miui control you can activate app drawer
Also an alternative is alt drawer its a very simple drawer its cool and is customizable
Thank's aren't asked for but aappreciated
I wasnt aware we had a miui rom for the sgs 4g......

To set Google search to the search button instead of miui search
first if Google search is uninstalled then download it from the market then with a file explorer move google search apk from /data/app to /system/app then reboot your phone and when it boots click search and it'll be Google search
Thank's aren't asked for but appreciated

How to block a phone

my younger brother wants to get an android phone. i want to make sure he cant use it for bad things (e.g pornogaphy or similar things) is there any app i can use to block certain things from showing, in all apps he might install? or at least a way to have all internet history sent to my computer so i can see whats being done?
would a keylogger be enough?

When he go to toilet or bathroom.... You can check mobile and find what he's doing with it...... You can use screen recorder.... Or if he is deleting history etc... Then tell him that if he delete the history from browser, Phone may brick... Ok
But in my opinion you should understand this he will learn everything whether someone teach him or not... Its natural process... Hope don't mind.....

I know you have concerns but there is an awesome method. Its called "trust".
Get him a phone and tell him you're trusting him not to see and check out inappropriate things. (Add a bit of fibs here, like... If you do this, your phone can break. Its a virus and what not).
Also I think this is normal, its normal for a boy to girl to see this kind of things. Whether they're young or old, it'll happen and you can't stop it. You can slow it. But I wouldn't go there. People grow and they mature, and I'm sure he's not uneducated about electronics. You'll learn easily.
And hey, the internet is there, he can look for answers. Well anyways, a best of luck.

Two OS features are missing in S6!!

I have the phone for two days now, but I noticed that unlike GS4 and GS5, GS6 is missing these two important features!
there is no "answer vibration" feature , so if someone answer my call I can't let the device vibrate!
you can't put a "direct call" icon in the desktop! now you can put contact icon, then after clicking it will take you to the contact page for that person!
Anyone, is this the case with you? anyone know how to solve it?!
Go into the dialer settings and under call alerts you'll find what you're looking for.

Don't think it's Samsung. Looks like Google removed the shortcuts for the direct call, email, sms, etc... In lollipop from what I can find. I been searching and not much info on the web about this, guess me and you the few that used that feature.

Direct call is different from a shortcut. With direct call you click the icon and it calls the assigned person. With the shortcut as in the screen you posted, it takes you to the contacts page, where you then call text etc...

Now I can't tell you if this ROM will work on your phone, but it has the option to turn on Vibrate on Call. This ROM is also a "LITE" rom, so it de-bloats alot of things. So read carefully, and ask questions BEFORE you flash.
