[Update V1.2 available] HiddenEye - Awesome app to catch your phone snoopers. - Verizon Samsung Galaxy S III

New Version 1.2 now available... Please upgrade...
* Improved photo capture method.
* Larger images
* Bug fixes
* Performance improvements
* Reduced file size (now only 570KB)
Ever wanted to know who has tried snooping into your phone while you were away. Your friends or family member might have tried to unlock your phone while you are away. HiddenEye is a simple app with no frills that will photograph the person when they try to unlock your phone. You can set it to sound alarm when a user tries to unlock your phone without your knowledge.
Now you can see who is trying to use your phone while you are away. Once you unlock your phone, you will be shown the photographs of the people who tried unlocking your phone in your absence. Sounds interesting ! Try it and let us know if you have any suggestion to improve it further.
Worried that your phone does not have front camera. With HiddenEye, now you can know the someone has tried to snoop into your phone. You can also set alarm if someone is trying to unlock your phone with wrong password. If you have a front camera, then you can see who tried unlocking your phone.

Ha ha! I love your app! I don't really have a use for it for the time being because I don't really give an F who looks at my phone, but who knows? Maybe I'll be curious at some point or want to prove a point to the snoop-a-loops out there.

Glad that you liked my work.. Yes, this will come in handy when you want prove someone that they did tried snooping in Appreciate if you can leave your rating and comments on Google Play.. thanks

Neat app but im never away from my device....were connected at the hip

Nice!
One small beef though. If someone does get the password right eventually, then they see the app first thing -- even with it unchecked.
Kind of eliminates the point. Easy fix for you, I'm sure.

Thanks for pointing this out.. There is a new version 1.1 available with this fix and many more changes... Please give it a try... If you are satisfied, please drop in your comments and rating on google play.. thanks

Any device restrictions? Besides the obvious without front facing cameras...

Yep, that's better.
Thanks!
Also, I have an idea. Any way to have it so it takes a pic anytime someone unlocks it? Even with no password and just the swipe unlock? With an on/off switch.
Reason being -- I don't use a password or lock on my screen, but I do want to know when someone goes into it. So let's say I leave my phone on the charger while taking a nap --- I turn it on before I snooze, then check it out upon wake - turning it off after I'm done reviewing.

No device restrictions. For devices without front camera, you can still use the app and get to know someone has used your phone will your are away. You cannot see their real pictures. You can also set notification and alarm on consecutive failed password attempts..

[REQUEST] App to flash the bottom key led's for alerts

I am wanting an app to flash the bottom key leds for alerts and such.
I second that motion
Very Cool Idea
different sequences would be cool too!
Great idea....hope this happens.
that would be really battery consuming if you leave your fone siting somewhere
way cool, just hope it doesn't kill the battery even more.
Here is one TheJza over at SDX created for the samsung moment. Once again all credit goes to him.
Yeah that sounds awesome, lets hope someone can figure this out!
Only problem I see is that I think the bottom row backlights could all be one light so we may not be able to get patterns and such :\
Agree I would also love to see this app! Tried the apk posted earlier which worked for the Moment but it doesn't work on our phones. Hope one of the brilliant people on here can make one! =)
I like the sequence idea. Maybe a different sequence for each type of notification. Pans left for SMS, right for Email, etc. Or maybe each light blinks individually depending on the type. Think that would be BA.

Interesting, now to add it into notification
Anyone intrested in trying to implement?
The big thing people wanted on the HD2, was a KITT style...which still would be bada** but they couldn't ever get it to work like that...
Maybe someone can do it with this phone, but I doubt it...I really hope so though.
Great idea! I would love this, also would donate to the cause.
Anybody manage to get this working?
Would LOVE for this app

[NO ROOT][DEV] IncredibleTorch

I've been working on a flashlight app for non-rooted phones. I have been able to recreate the one that costs $0.99 (I think? I'm not exactly sure, I don't own it.). Sadly, I have the same flaw. I can't get it to exit correctly, so you have to reboot. I'm still working on it, and haven't quite given up (although I think I have concluded this exploits a higher level bug that I just can't control).
6/17/10 - I think I've concluded there is no way to shut it off. I believe this is a bug in the camera software that allows this to happen. A method just hangs forever. (All of this is I think ) Sorry guys, you probably wont see anything better (w/o root).

Wow. Good job dude. I know its finicky but you usually only need the flash light to stay on. Oh well on the reboot to turn off. You'll figure it out. Really good job man.

Woo hoo, at least one person likes it! I've only gotten put down or no replies elsewhere. haha
I know this isn't fantastic or anything, but it's better than nothing in my eyes.
anything that helps the community is always appreciated. So ty very mucho
Yea I tried the same thing. Stuck at the exact same problem.
I am by no means an expert Android dev, but I have tons of .NET experience. I used the example in the SDK, then just added the parameters to turn on the LED when taking a picture. Then it freezes and it goes to hell from there.
I tried threading/etc. No luck, I stopped working on it. Plus now there is the root, so why not just do that and use the Lamppu Application.
Thanks for trying anyways
That's exactly where I am! takePicture just freezes after a few pictures I believe. I also tried threading, no luck.
But I don't have .NET experience, I'm just a noob.
Yeah, I know now there's root Lamppu is better, but I'm personally not rooted. I figured I'd just release it because no one else has except the guy who is trying to sell it... which is just rude lol.
werd ~!~ 10 more
thanks for trying on the app though! it just confirms that I need to get root on me phone! I dont know why ppl would bash your for contributing..fail/succeed..we all benefit. It's only from attempts that we learn how things work..im sure anyone in root dev can confirm that!

[App] Power Switch - screen off by closing case

Guys, im the developer of Power Switch, an app that switches off your tablet's screen when you shut the case.
The main thread can be found here:
http://forum.xda-developers.com/showthread.php?t=1277712
Ive had reports of problems with the pad's light sensor, so would appreciate some debugging feedback.
You can use the lite version to test, it has all the features, but just wont save as much juice.
Thanks in advance. Feel free to reply here or in the main thread, i read both regularly!
Great idea. Does it require root?
Also, it would have been awesome if it could wakeup automatically as well, like the iPad smart cover.
No, no need for root.

That is a mechanical function. It is possible on android too, but it would kill the battery as you could never really put your device to sleep.

Who cares about a little battery juice? The cool factor would be awesome. Maybe as a timed option? Like 5 or 10 min. or more "auto wake" feature.
Fortunately, everyone cares.

I don't, and Im sure there are others that would like the option. As a developer who is trying to sell an app you might consider not generalizing your customer, rather say its not a feature I can, or wish to add to this app. Your app does have potential. Thanks for your efforts.
Ill keep that in mind. However, as a developer with some experience i still think everyone cares. Everyone who understands just what would be happening if the teblets screen would be off but it wasnt sleeping.

Good idea.
Please do!
I think the auto wake up function would be great! Maybe you could make it as an option, people who like it can turn it on and who doesnt like it can turn it off.....
Installed it last night. Set the Auto Shutdown to 5:00, left most other defaults on. (Enable Sensors/Use Light Sensor). Plugged into AC. Closed screen and could see screen was shutting down. After 5:00 would be off. In morning (closed screen) fired it up and at full charge.
Quite nice! Anything else I should look at in the app?
I wouldnt mind if you had a good test of the sesitivity defaults...
I couldn't get it to work on my Transformer, it would only work the first time after that I had no luck getting it to register the closed lid, nor my hand covering the sensor..

Will leave there for a day or two.

[APP][2.2+] Awake/Sleep Volume Adjuster

When your phone is in your pocket, full volume notifications are necessary if you don't want to miss a message. But when you already have your phone out and unlocked, there's no need for them to be loud and annoying, especially if you're already using the app they originate from (e.g. message apps).
Awake/Sleep Volume Adjuster lets you set custom notification volume levels for when your phone is asleep and when it's awake.
This is my first app, so I apologize for any issues it may have, but I hope people will find it useful. Either way, it's been nice to have just for myself!

Very useful app. Thank you!
Does this effect battery life at all? This is a great idea for an application. I hate when I almost crap my pants from a notification being too loud! I hope this app does well and has many more updates in the future.

I have an HTC Evo Design 4G which has atrocious battery life (carry around a spare in my wallet) and haven't noticed any decrease. I regularly check the battery use because I have to watch for things eating it up and it hasn't shown up yet!

Great and very usefull app Thanks for sharing
I've got a problem, when someone calls me, and my phone isn't in my pocket, but I'm not using it either, the screen turns on, so the phone goes vibrate mode, I don't know if can be fixed. Great app btw.

Damn! I never actually use my phone as a phone so that never crossed my mind. I'll look into it changing it, but right now the app simply works on whether the screen is lit up or not. Thanks for the heads up!

Btw: you could made this an xposed module, to be less ram hungry.

[Q] Is there any true Silent Mode enabling app for Lollipop?

As the title says.
I am tired of finding an app which will bring back the Silent mode in Lollipop, nothing works, including the one which was released earlier today claiming about bringing Silent mode back, SoundHUD, it does not work on my Note 3.
So I am asking this here, in case there is an app and I don't know it.
Again, I have a Galaxy Note 3, so if there's an app which works on a Nexus or those type of devices doesn't mean it will work on mine.
I 2nd this. I want a solution for this as well. App/Script/Hack/Mod.....whatever.

Yeah, I know. It's kinda weird that there's no app or mod for this so far, L is released pretty much for over a month now!
Hit the volume button, then none? It will put the phone in interruption mode and silent. You can even choose when it will go back to sound mode in case you forget to change it back.

Apparently, Samsung agrees with us here! The new Sound/Notification/Interruption features suck ballz. They will be fixed immediately in an incoming update rolling around the world.

First of all that will disable all sorts of notifications, I mean the display won't pop up, there will be no LED and most importantly the Alarm sound will be silent too, LOL.
