Hi, I just checked out 2 demo display versions of nexus 4, one had the nubs, and the other one did not. I checked the boot loader, and both phone were Rev 11. Additionqlly, the non nub version showed kitkat avaiable, nub one shoiwed no updatesnyet. I heard there is rev 12 and 13 also in nexus 4. How do I know if I'm buying the latest nexus 5 rev without unboxing? Is there a production date on the box? Why is Google making things difficult? What is the current rev no of nexus 5s..will Google make changes in speaker and camera in future rev versions, and when can we expect the new batch?
Let me check my Crystall ball and get back to you.

I'm looking at my box, and I see no revision numbers. There is an RS number, but I have no idea what that is. No manufacture date that I can see either. As for the other questions, no idea.

For nexus 4, power off device. press vol down plus power key, this will launch boot loader, when it shows HW rev 11.
From the #310 production batch and it's rev. 11

I've seen this asked in other threads but not so far related to the Nexus 5. I'm thinking getting this app working on a non-moto device such as the Nexus 5 should be more possible than ever because of the dedicated core in the Snapdragon 800. Am I wrong?
EDIT: Actually it's right here http://forum.xda-developers.com/showthread.php?t=2516064&highlight=touchless+control
You're on the right track, OP. The hardware is there, the software is not. I don't think it would be "too" difficult to port it from a moto device.

The snapdragon 800 is not always listening like the x8 chip. Is is listening while the unit is on. It is possible but it would be plenty of work and will go through battery quite heavily.

Incorrect - it has a low-power Core similar to the x8 called 'Snapdragon Voice Activation' - we will need to have our Kernel/ROM gurus get on it once their devices arrive.
I'm going something will become available, it would come in handy.

Yes, it is possible. However, you'd have to go through the work of dualbooting it yourself since MultiROM is not yet capatible with Nexus 5.
However, MultiROM works with both the Nexus 4 & 7. I'm guessing that the 5 is not too far away.
Hey guys,
I recently purchased my Droid ultra and I'm loving it. The only thing is that every time I hit software update it tells me that there's no software update available.
As you can see I'm probably on the version of the software that came out of the box.
I know that on Nexus phones you could force the update by going to setting and clearing cache of Google services framework. Is there a similar way to force an update on this device?
Stock / not rooted
Thanks for your help guys.
Ps. I'm on straight talk... Dunno if this makes a difference or not.

Hi everyone,
I have been reading this forum for well over a year and took the plunge into trying the Android L preview on my Nexus 5 32 GB. I am loving the way the software functions on my nexus 5 except i am having one issue. The phone i installed it on is a secoundary phone i have connected with sprint. When i am using the phone for a phone call and i get an incoming call I do not see who is calling and the phone doesn't show who is calling. Any ideas?

Go back to stable releases. It's a preview release, not a daily driver (though quite stable)

I am fully aware that it is developer preview, I was just wanting to see if anyone had an idea about that bug
I just recently purchased a Nexus 5 online and it came pre loaded with Android M, which I was excited for. However with me using the camera a lot, Android M is not for me. (Camera pictures flipping, app crashing, etc.)
Can someone provide a stock lollipop ROM, or let me know if there is a way to downgrade and keep stock? I am all for rooting and flashing, but with Nexus devices it's just made for stock OS.
A flashablr tar.md5 file would be preferred because I like to use Odin, but otherwise a .zip will work too.
Thanks!

A second hand phone? Being M doesn't ship stock on anything yet.

Yes, I dropped my galaxy s5 and there was no external damage, but the drop damaged the internal sound card. So all audio was heavily static.
I used a website called swappa.com to buy my new phone.

I paid $225 for a Mint condition Nexus 5. Came with box, original cables, still had plastic on the camera and screen. Came with 2 cases too. Not to mention 1 day shipping.
