Stock Lollipop ROM? - Nexus 5 Q&A, Help & Troubleshooting

I just recently purchased a Nexus 5 online and it came pre loaded with Android M, which I was excited for. However with me using the camera a lot, Android M is not for me. (Camera pictures flipping, app crashing, etc.)
Can someone provide a stock lollipop ROM, or let me know if there is a way to downgrade and keep stock? I am all for rooting and flashing, but with Nexus devices it's just made for stock OS.
A flashablr tar.md5 file would be preferred because I like to use Odin, but otherwise a .zip will work too.
Thanks!

A second hand phone? Being M doesn't ship stock on anything yet.

Yes, I dropped my galaxy s5 and there was no external damage, but the drop damaged the internal sound card. So all audio was heavily static.
I used a website called swappa.com to buy my new phone.

I paid $225 for a Mint condition Nexus 5. Came with box, original cables, still had plastic on the camera and screen. Came with 2 cases too. Not to mention 1 day shipping.

Nexus S problems?

Does any Google Nexus S phone running AOSP Android reboot on its own like some Motorola Android phones do, or shut off unexpectedly like some Motorola Bionic phones do?
I am trying to determine if it is an underlying problem with Android, or if it is something Motorola might have introduced, or if it might be a hardware problem.
The Google Nexus S looked like a good reference phone to compare with.

Not any phones without significant issues (running a stock AOSP rom)

No problems here. It probably has to do with the fact Motorola phones requires hacked together roms because you cannot flash custom kernels.

Motorola phones reboot on their own because they can't take custom kernels?? Is the stock kernel the culprit? Under Froyo, my DroidX would reboot when connected via USB. There is reason to believe that a running app that resided on the SD card was not yielding to the unmount request, and the phone had to force a reboot as a last ditch effort to get the app to release the SD card to be mounted by the PC.
I also found this thread about the Nexus S: http://www.droidforums.net/forum/dr...y-phone-randomly-rebooting-every-5mins-d.html

My stock unrooted Nexus S has rebooted itself a handful of times (3 or 4) in the 7 months or so that I've had it.

Thanks Matt! That would indicate the problem might be with Android and not something Motorola did.

Nexus 5 Incoming call

Hi everyone,
I have been reading this forum for well over a year and took the plunge into trying the Android L preview on my Nexus 5 32 GB. I am loving the way the software functions on my nexus 5 except i am having one issue. The phone i installed it on is a secoundary phone i have connected with sprint. When i am using the phone for a phone call and i get an incoming call I do not see who is calling and the phone doesn't show who is calling. Any ideas?

Go back to stable releases. It's a preview release, not a daily driver (though quite stable)

[Q] Stock camera not focusing in 4.4.4

recently I notice that my camera wouldn't focus and I think it started happening after the latest update.
everything was working great before and never had an issue. any ideas?
The latest camera update our android update? Try clearing data and cache for the camera app. If that doesn't work try another camera app.
Edit: Typo

I meant I am using all the latest software.... All updates were installed.
I tried clearing the cache... Downgrading the camera app, installed various camera apps and same result.
I also did a factory reset.

...and the glass covering the lens is not smudged?
Glass is clean, very clean actually, never used the device without a case and the glass usually wouldn't touched any surfaces directly.
Sent from my Nexus 5 using XDA Free mobile app
You could try downgrading to another version of android by flashing the stock image. If that doesn't work I think there may be a hardware issue.
Sent from my Nexus 4 using XDA Free mobile app
I tried going back to 4.4.2 when I know it worked but it didn't work with the downgrade.
I called Google and they will send another device... Factory refurbished... I'm skeptical about that thou, should I be?
Sent from my Nexus 5 using XDA Free mobile app
Download another camera app and see if you have the same issue. If you don't, then it's just the software and not a problem with the camera itself.
Hel already mentioned that he tried many camera apps all with the same result.
@op No, I think the new device will be just fine. Don't worry about it.

Google Play Services 5.0.88

Anyone install this yet? Where is the safest place to download from?
Mostly looking for success/failures before embarking on the journey. I like my Nexus 5 and hope this can remedy some of the battery drain issues I have been having.

New version?Need to try this....:good:
There's no reason why you shouldn't update. Eventually it will update on it's own, and this is probably nothing major.
Rumors it helps battery, but ya know, placebo.

Yes i installed it a while back and i get excellent battery life have not had 1 problem with it.......
btw, .89 is out

Google Fit on Galaxy S5?

I recently bought a Galaxy Gear Live and was excited to use it with S health on my Galaxy S5. Turns out, though samsung claimed they would update their software to be compatible with their watch, it still isnt. Not a problem, though. I thought i would still use the google fit app, as its an android wear device. Turns out my phone isnt even compatible with the google app?? Im not sure what to do as both company apps are not supported. Any ideas?

Just because it says it's incompatible doesn't mean it won't still work on your device. You could download the apk and attempt to install, worse case scenario is it won't work

Tried that now, it seems to glitch my phone and freezes it. Also, i just found out other S5's ARE compatible.

That's very odd. Normally Sprint phones are pretty flexible with most apps. Is your S5 on kk or LP?
