Hi everyone,
I have been reading this forum for well over a year and took the plunge into trying the Android L preview on my Nexus 5 32 GB. I am loving the way the software functions on my nexus 5 except i am having one issue. The phone i installed it on is a secoundary phone i have connected with sprint. When i am using the phone for a phone call and i get an incoming call I do not see who is calling and the phone doesn't show who is calling. Any ideas?

Go back to stable releases. It's a preview release, not a daily driver (though quite stable)

I am fully aware that it is developer preview, I was just wanting to see if anyone had an idea about that bug

Hi all,
I got my phone 5 days ago and since then, it looses signal about 6 times a day in places where there is full signal.
I used to own Galaxy S2 and never had this issue before.
I'm using the same carrier and living in the same place so the only thing that has changed is the phone.
I was wondering if it's a known issue, if there's a fix or should I RMA this?
Thanks!
Happened to me until the updates. Are you on 4.4 still?
Team Nexus 5 sucks
Nope, as soon as I got the phone it was on 4.4.1 and then upgraded to 4.4.2
Same thing is happening to me, and from what I've Google'd, heaps of others as well.
Hoping 4.4.3 (or whatever they will call the next one) will fix these issues. I switched to a new carrier, to get the Nexus 5 (I could've stayed with my old carrier and got it, but I was unhappy with them). There is so many issues with the Nexus 5 and my new carrier, its not even funny.
I hate it when my phone LOSES the signal.
It still happens to me once or twice a day. Turning on airplane mode for a few seconds fixes my signal.
Team Nexus 5 sucks
Happens to mine constantly. Pos.

Have you checked your APN's in the phone at all?

I've also got horrible reception in most of Orlando, wife's moto x seems to have good signal compared to my N5

Yes. The APN is set automatically.

With what can I compare it to? The way I was able to recreate this is when switching to 2G from 4G or 3G

Compare your APNS to your network standard APNS. Simply Google that and you should be able to find it. I would Google it for you but I don't know your network.

So I'm on a Verizon non dev edition moto X running stock 4.4.2. The network got released yesterday and I am unable to stream anything from it. The app crashes every time I try.
I've dealt with the customer support and they transfer me, and I get disconnected.
Anyone have any ideas? Anyone get it working on 4.4.0?
I'm having the same issue with my 2013 Nexus 7. Early yesterday the app was causing my device to reboot, now the app just force closes, so I guess progress is being made.

I'd say early release jitters. I didn't even see videos on the site. I'd say give it a week to iron out the kinks.

Thanks to reddit, this is fixed. Turns out it doesn't work with ART. switched back to Dalvik and it's all good.
Have a nexus 5 Sony watch wouldn't stay connected...after a phone call to tech support sony does not support anything above 4.3...why BC no sony phones are above 4.3 at the moment....
She said there is an update coming out but didn't know when or even if it would fix the problems....
Sent from my Nexus 7 using Tapatalk
I'm using it with my S3 running omnirom, which is at 4.4.2 so it's not that. There is an update coming but I doubt it would help you in itself. Mine disconnects from time to time, I've found the quickest way to reconnect is to turn Bluetooth off on the watch and back on again, it generally pairs straight away. Hopefully that will be fixed in the new version.

This is just what she said. Mine wouldn't reconnect.... To annoying

I'm running a Nexus 5 and had my SW 2 since December, never had issues with connection, aside from once with a botched custom Kernel. If you're not running stock, try running that, other than that I suggest faulty hardware on the watch's part

My SW2 and Nexus 5 work great together, no connection issues. I've had this combo for 2-3 months now.
Same setup here. Nexus 5 and Android 4.4.2, everything is working great. Have you tried resetting the watch to stock?
Sent from my Nexus 5 using Tapatalk
Tried 2 different watched.. Bluetooth works fine.. Use Bluetooth headphones to work out with and those never get disconnected.
Reset the watch multiple times.. Would work and then lose connection even though the app still shows connected.. The apps would not communicate with my phone
She did say they were getting a lot of complaints about my issue as well.

^Same here... Sony SW2 with Nexus 5 (4.4.2) and haven't had any issues with bluetooth connectivity. As others mentioned, resetting the watch or unpair and re-pairing would be the first things I would try.
Best of luck... let us know how it goes.
Done that. I should say that I got a pebble and have 0 issues.. Don't know why it was not working,, tried 2 different ones from 2 different stores.. Bc of that sony refused to even send me another.. They pretty much forced me to return it

Try again? Some Sony phones were updated to 4.4.2 today.

no problems with my Butterfly S either, just recently got 4.4.2
i did read about wifi disconnects but i guess that's unrelated
So. I have looked, And looked. Tried XDA, android central, Google search. No answers. Even called Google about this. I had an HTC incredible s before the n5 running 4.0.4. I would be connected to my WiFi. Mobile data would be off. I would send a MMS. Mobile data would turn on, send the MMS and turn off. All the while WiFi was still on. Now after some search it seems this was a code I'm the framework of sense ROMs. The phone was rooted and running mike1986 ROM. Awsome feature. Fast forward to today. N5 will not let me do this. My wife's moto x is the same issue. Now I understand this is not a huge deal to some but to have to turn off WiFi to send AND receive even the notification of an MMS is annoying. Is there any way to get around this? I have tried 8sms, and another app. Can't remember the name. No luck. Thanks guys!
No one?
Sent from my Nexus 5 using XDA Premium 4 mobile app
@montrealer99 use textra does exactly that and can send sms and mms straight over wifi and it uses ur actual phone number
Thank you. Tried it today but still no luck. I find it hard to believe its so complicated for Google to fix this or at least add it as an option after 4.0
Sent from my Nexus 5 using XDA Premium 4 mobile app
So it seems that as a battery saving idea, mobile data gets turned off when WiFi is connected. Will not allow MMS to function.

Have you tried go SMS? My dad uses it & it has helped him.

Same thing. Now one person at my work has a n5 on a different carrier and it works. Another is on the same carrier as that person with a gs4 and it does not work. Both are running 4.4.2

I just recently purchased a Nexus 5 online and it came pre loaded with Android M, which I was excited for. However with me using the camera a lot, Android M is not for me. (Camera pictures flipping, app crashing, etc.)
Can someone provide a stock lollipop ROM, or let me know if there is a way to downgrade and keep stock? I am all for rooting and flashing, but with Nexus devices it's just made for stock OS.
A flashablr tar.md5 file would be preferred because I like to use Odin, but otherwise a .zip will work too.
Thanks!

Yes, I dropped my galaxy s5 and there was no external damage, but the drop damaged the internal sound card. So all audio was heavily static.
I used a website called swappa.com to buy my new phone.

I paid $225 for a Mint condition Nexus 5. Came with box, original cables, still had plastic on the camera and screen. Came with 2 cases too. Not to mention 1 day shipping.
