[Q] One S Power switch broken! - HTC One S

Hi
The little white plastic power button/switch underneath the top cover has broken off, not the black button on the top cover!! I cannot seem to find any parts on ebay or anywhere, do I have to dismantle the phone and replace a whole ribbon or is there a way of replacing just the tiny white button? If I buy a damaged HOS could I repair it or is it impossible? Thanks anyone:crying:

I have replaced several screens on Touch Diamonds, however the LCD matrix appears to actually be stuck onto the digitiser and the LCD itself is very very fragile. I usually replace the whole unit (LCD screen and digitiser) because it is much easier. You can purchase these from various sellers in Hong Kong on Ebay.
I have allready bought a touch screen but not the lcd screen!!! Do u have a guide or something that shows how to change it???

My recommendation would be to re-sell the touch screen and buy yourself a complete LCD & digitiser module. It is much much easier to do. In terms of taking the phone apart, it is fairly straight forward. Be careful with the small co-axial cables inside though, because they are easily damaged and difficult to obtain without replacing the antenna board. Re-connecting the ribbon cables can also be a bit fiddly.
The LCD and digitiser are glued into the front of the phone. You will need to disassemble the phone and then very carefully using a plastic flat blade, ease the LCD out of the front of the phone housing. It will come out with a little bit of care. There should be enough glue remaining in the housing to re-seat the replacement unit and hold it in place.
If you google you should be able to find the HTC Diamond service manual which tells you how to take the phone apart and re-assemble it. I have a copy, so if you can't track it down, PM and I will e-mail it to you.

Hi,
To barncourt, how is the build quality of those honk kong made screens?
also a lot of the screen+digitizer that i have seen on ebay all have the front facing camera. would it be possible to use that screen even though my diamond is the one that has no front facing camera?
Of course, it is just a hole

Okay, but I tend to buy from the same seller. Not had any particular problems.

Hi I wanna know can you share your supplier adress with us ?
I'm looking for a LCD+digitizer and what I see is not something giving confidence...
So if you can give us some real-tested place to start...
Also I've dismantle the phone but it's quite hard to take the screen+digitizer away...
it's seems completely fixed with the housing does some one got s pics or guide on how to dismantle and replace the screen
(The HTC service guide you can see here and there just don't deal with the screen.)
and when I started just broke my screen (which was already broken anyway so...)
http://www.fuelip.com/howto/diamondlcd/diamondlcd.htm
I followed that guide and replaced my screen. I have one last problem though - I can't fit back my power button. It's made of two parts the black plastic cover and the transparent rubber. How do you stick them together? I'ts funny that I took my whole diamond apart with all the cables and boards and now I can not figure out how to fix a silly button

Succesfully replaced bottom n1 cover (updated links)

I had chip on my bottom cover and replaced it for $12. The repair part is real easy though i got a cut lol. One thing i forgot to put in was the dock connector from the previous cover to new one so now i have a n1 with 4 holes rather than 1. And u dont have to void ur warranty for replacing as u dont have to remove and void sticker
here are the links to the things i bought, seems oem and really high grade

Were you able to take any pictures of the process? Also, where did you get the actual part? I've been contemplating buying a spare bottom rubber thing and battery back, as they are really the most likely places to get scratched. Oh, and congrats on succeeding!
No pictures of the process but u have to open 2 clips one at center n one at right n pull. Assembly is real easy but I forgot to put in dock connectors. They have to removed from previous cover. In the process destroyed a plastic clip opener, older bottom n also cut my finger. No damage to phone though
I'm going to attempt this soon. I ordered the bottom cover from here. They have another bottom cover "with small accessories on their site but I'm not sure what these "accessories" are so I ordered the tools from here.
From my reading, removing the bottom cover can be quite a challenging task.
I also have a new battery cover which I received free from HTC when I called them a few months ago to report it had been scratched. They said they would send me both parts (battery cover and bottom cover) but there was only the one piece. When I called back, they said I would need to send in my phone to have the bottom cover replaced and there would, of course, be a charge.
Finally got the bottom cover in the mail.. it looks as good as the original.
I successfully removed the old one with some precision screwdrivers since my iPod tools haven't come in yet and I couldn't wait. Once I got one of the corner tabs lifted, the cover came right off. Installing the new one was extremely easy.
I wasn't going to replace the battery cover with the new one I had received from HTC but the battery cover had a reddish tint to it so it didn't really match the new bottom cover which is gray. Installed the new one and the phone looks brand spanking new.
did u put in the dock connectors?

They were part of the replacement cover and they're spring-loaded contacts so there was nothing to worry about.
I'm in the process of attempting this

[Q] Where can I find spare parts?

A while back I removed the plastic power button from the plastic casing around the tablet. I had the constant power menu issue because of the misaligned power button inside the tablet. I'd like to sell the tablet, but I need to get a new power button for it, and I can't find one anywhere. The closest I've found is a complete replacement back cover, but on Ebay they want almost $40 just for the plastic shell. Does anyone know of somewhere that sells parts for the TF300?

[Q] Can this be repaired?

So I bought this off eBay to replace the screen and fix it, but when I opened it up I found this(look at pictures) one of the ribbon holders fell apart as I took off the tape. God knows how it was working. The drop must of shattered it. So any suggestions on what I should do, I was thinking some really strong tape to keep the ribbon in place but I doubt that will last very long. The bottom part that connects it is still in good shape.

Power Button little piece missing

Hi, I repaired a HTC One XL Display for a friend. The Problem is a little piece, to push the Power Button is missing now. It is not the plastic button itself, just the piece that gives the impulse to the platine.
This is what i mean http://m.ebay.de/itm/121505332126?nav=SEARCH
Can I order this one or do I have to change the whole flex cable?
Thank you in advance.

Hi, I don't know if you've already fixed it. I recently had the same problem. If you want to save a couple bux you can use alumium foil to make a little contact piece. I did it and pasted to the plastic button that's hold by a little black thing, so when you push it, it makes contact as if it were that piece or button you posted.
I also install Touch-To-Wake and double-tap to make screen off features so i won't need it so much.
