Guys!!! Micromax a78!! rooted!!!
So, here are the steps on getting root access on MICROMAX A78-
What you need
1. MICROMAX A78, data usb cable.
2. Download the Rooted Boot image file from the attachment below this post.
3. Download SP Flash Tool v2.1 from HERE.
4. Download MTK65xx Driver from HERE.
5. Download the MTK6573 Scatter.txt file from the attachment below this post.
6. Lastly download SuperOneClick root application for windows (search google), and install it...it will also install the adb drivers needed while rooting.
Installation Steps-
1. Unzip and Install the MTK65xx USB drivers on your Windows PC, just run setup.exe.
Connect your phone switched off and connect using USB cable. Windows will recognize and install the MTK drivers for your phone (any free COM ports) will be configured. Disconnect the phone. Do not switch on the phone
2. Copy the "rootedboot.img" file that you downloaded from my attatchment. Rename it to be boot.img
4. Extract and run SP flash Tool.exe (the one with Blue image icon)
5. Click on Options, check USB mode.
6. Click on Scatter-loading button which is on the right side below Downloading Agent. A window will open. Browse to your downloaded scatter.txt file. By default you will have only one map file of name MT6573_Android_scatter. Select this
7. The flash tool will populate the Map file on the application window. You will see multiple Entries such as
PRELOADER
DSP_BL
MBR
etc etc. Each will have a check box which is by default checked.
8. UNCHECK all entries EXCEPT FOR "BOOT". Leave boot checked. Now click on the "BOOT" just right to the checkbox and browse and select the boot.img (which was earlier rootedboot.img) file you downloaded from the attachment below.
9. Now click on "Download" on the Application or press F9 on keyboard. Warning messages will occur, but ignore them..
10. You will see in the status bar below "Searching"
11. Connect your phone (switched off and with battery inserted) via the USB cable.
12. Flash tool will do its stuff. First a red progress bar, then a count down, a quick yellow progress bar and final window showing Green Circle.
If you get this then Congrats You have flashed the unlocked boot.img!
NOW FOR ACTUAL ROOTING:
1. Restart your phone, now when the phone boots up, enable "usb debugging".
2. Now run SuperOneClick, and click "root"..after the process finishes, the a78 will be fully rooted with Superuser app installed!!.
Check by installing root checker from play store!!!
Enjoy !

In case you get any other error on SP Flash Tool, then recheck your MTK driver installation. Try on another PC.

Hi,
Facing a strange issue and that too at very first step. When I am connecting the phone (Switched Off) to USB Cable after Driver Installation, Windows detects the device and tries to install MT65xx PreLoader. But after a few seconds, it shows the error: Device Unplugged.
Can you plz help to resolve this ?

Ok, I am able to resolve this by Disabling Searching Windows Update for Device Drivers.
And, YES, I have rooted my A78

I've decided to open this thread for development md mmx ninja a45 .

pre requisites *a45 drivers and *superoneclick
firstly dissable ur antivirus...
1)download drivers available at micromax's site
2)Connect your device on your PC and be sure that USB Debugging is enabled.
Your PC will ask on how will you install the driver, choose “Install from a specific location” then navigate to where you had downloaded earlier.
3)After drivers has been already installed, open super one click.
4)Click the “Root” button.
Then rooting will start automatically....

Recovery
Here's how to get Clockworkmod recovery
with SP Flash Tool:
1. Download SP Flash Tool.
2. Download MT6573_Android_scatter.txt.
3. Download a45recovery-cwm.zip and extract it.
4. Extract SPF Tool.zip and Run
Flash_tool.exe from there.
5. Click File->Open Scatter-loading file and
select the MT6573_Android_scatter.txt you
downloaded.
6. Now uncheck everything except
RECOVERY . Click on recovery and select
a45recovery-cwm.img you downloaded.
7. Now turn off your Micromax A45,
remove battery and put it back( DONT
switch it back on).
8. Press Download in the SP Flash Tool
window, then When the countdown starts,
connect your phone to PC.
9. After it's done, disconnect the phone,
remove battery and put it back. Boot the
phone into Recovery mode, You should
have Clockworkmod v5.8.1.9

How to Root and install CWM
I'm also using Cherry Mobile amethyst and i already rooted and installed CWM recovery. I'm going to teach u how to do that. but i used the ROM Manager Pro to go to the Recovery Mode.
1. You have to Root your android phone using Framaroot (Latest version) and you have to download and install the ROM Manager Pro.
Note: Warranty Void

- Just click the word "Barahir" and wait for the confirmation successfully rooted and reboot your phone.
2. After That, You need to Download the "MTK Droid Tools" , "SP Flash Tools" and MTK Driver. (Search the net for Download)
-install the MTK Driver, Wait for the automatic detection of the device and Click manual install then go to downloaded drivers.
3.Open MTK Droid Tools, then wait to process the Phone Information. You have to Click the "BLOCKS MAP" and after the other window Pop-up with Block Info, Click "SCATTER FILE". This File should be save because it is very important for your device with the name "MT6572_Android_scatter_emmc.txt". Do not Close the MTK Droid Tool.
4. Open the SP Flash Tool, Click "Scatter-Loading" and search the file that you saved earlier with the name "MT6572_Android_scatter_emmc.txt" and Go to "READ BACK TAB". Click "ADD" and the file added at the bottom and Click the File and save it as "ROM_0". You should turn off your Phone. Then Connect it to USB Cable, Unplug the battery first then Click the "Read back Button" and Plug the battery to detect the device and this will be done successfully. You do have "ROM_0" File. DOnt Close SP Flash Tool.
5. Go back to MTK Droid Tools, you can now backup you phone first.Go to "root, backup, recovery" tab, Click "To Process File ROM_* from flash Tool" and select the "ROM_0" you saved earlier. Wait for the task to complete, When the message box appear "Do you want cwm automatically installed", just click "YES".
(Do it with your own Risk, Note: I am not responsible for any Damage, Lost of your data, The Process of flashing will reset your phone into factory reset or it can brick your phone when the procedure is wrong.)
6. After that you can re-flash your stock ROM.Go to SP Flash Tool Again, Then Click Again the "Scatter-Loading" and go to the MTK Droid Tool" Folder named "backup", you will see the backup file you saved a while ago when you process the "ROM_0" File. Open The Folder with the name "S610_******_backup" or "S610_******_ForFlashtoolFromReadBack", you will see the file "MT6572_Android_scatter_emmc.txt" again". after that, all the IMAGE File from your phone will appear on the bottom of SP Flash Tool, Look the name "recovery", if it has File Location, Just chage it, go to "MTK Droid Tool" Folder then open "recovery" folder, you will see the file named "S610_******__recovery_140423-203622.img" and rename it to "recovery.img".
7.Just Click the "Download" button and Unplug and Plug your battery again to detect the Phone. wait it until it done.
8. After the Process completed, Open your Device, install ROM Manager Pro, and when installation completed. Open the Application and Click Reboot into Recovery.
9. The Phone Will reboot and now go to Recovery mode

Hello Guys,Am new In Xda And This Is my First Post. I am Going To Explain The Procedure To root Qmobile A65 Or any other MT6572 Device And Installing Cwm Recovery To instal custom Rom.I am Working On Windows 7.
First of all Download All the attached files.
~MtkDroidTools v2.5.3
~SP Flash Tool 3.1352.01 (5.1352.01)
~MT65xx Preloader Vcom Drivers
~Qmobile A65 Or your Device USB Drivers
=} First Of all Connect Your Device With Pc And Install The Device Drivers Downloaded And Extracted Earlier.
=} Turn Of Your Cell And Now Pull Battery Out Of the Cell Phone And Connect it With Pc Via Usb Cable/
=} Go To Device Manager,Now Put Battery Back In cell Phone,You will See MT65xx Preloader In Device List.
=} Right Click On it And Click Update Driver And Select The Mt65xx Preloader Vcom Drivers And Click Install.
=} Now Power On the Device And Open MtkDroid Tools And Create Scatter File.
=} Open Flash Tool And Load Scatter File Now Select Readback Tab And click Add.
=} Download Notpad++ And Open Scatter File In it.
=} Copy the linear_start_addr of Preloader And Paste It In Readback Block Start Add That Appear After Double Clicking The Line And Then

=} Now Scroll Down And Find the Fat Partition In Notepad++ Copy Its linear_start_addr And Paste It In Length Click OK.
=} Click ReadBack Button And Connect The Phone Without Battery,Insert Battery Flash Tool Will Start Dumping Your Room.
=} It Will Take 40-50Minutes And Will Generate A file Of 2-3Gb.
=} Now Open Mtkdroid tools And Power on Phone,Go to root,backup,recovery tab and Click "to Process the Rom_from Flash tool.
=} Select the file ROM_0,It will Unpack The System Files And Ask you To Either you want to make cwm recovery or not,Select Yes.
=} Open Spflash tool And Load same scatter file And Go to Download Tab Double Click On recovery And Select The Recovery Img,
Do not Select factory_NON modified_recovery img.
=} Double Click on Bootimg And Select The _boot_patched_140614-084012.img file In the Same Folder As for recovery.
=} Check Both Recovery And Bootimg Boxes.Click Download.
=} Power Off Your Phone And Connect It with Pc.Download Will Start,And Install Custom Recovery.
=} Download Superuser.zip And Place it In root Of Sdcard,On the phone in Recovery Mood And Select Install Zip From Sd card.
=} Select superuser.zip And Follow The Directions To install it.
=} Now You Should Be Rooted And CWM Recovery Should Be Installed And You Can Install Custom Rooms.

Can anyone help me.
Hi, I am trying to flash a cwm recovery for blu dash 5.0 ( a mediatek based device MT6572). There is no official cwm recovery for my device however I found a recovery on XDA developers that may work with MT6572 devices. Here is my phone info:
Model No.: BLU DASH 5.0
Android version: 4.2.2
Baseband ver: MOLY.WR8.W1315.MD.WG.MP.V1
Kernel ver: 3.4.5
Build No.: BLU-D410a-V08-Generic 17-10-2013.
I downloaded recoverycwm-evos7.IMG to my sdcard. When I went to my sdcard and clicked on it, I was automatically transferred into ROM installer app by jrummy with the option to to flash it. But before I did anything, the flash script read:

After this I need to find a custom ROM that can be installed or flashed on my phone because there is no official custom ROM yet.

This is one of the most useful topics I have seen for my mobile. I have tried everything to install CWM for my phone model (Champion Mobile NM850A), an unsupported device for Rom Manager's CWM downloader. searching for MT6572 Clockworkmod lead me to this topic and really helped me aswell as it can also help to people with different MT6572 devices. thank you!

CWM recovery, Backup (Read back+CWM) and Root Micromax Canvas HD+

CWM AND BACKUP
1. Download and install drivers Driver_Auto_Installer_v1.1236.00.7z.
If not working try these too PDAnet_4150.rar.
Problem in installation?? Go here
Or use the drivers i use:here (install legacy drivers, google)
2. Download scatter from attachments .
3. Open SP flash tools, load scatter in sp flash tools and go to read back tab.
4. Click 'Add' and tap on added read back entry.
5. Select any path to save file and click ok, write 0x03d80000 in length and click ok.
6. Click on read back and connect phone without battery. Wait till it completes.
7. Once you see a green circle, close sp flash tools and switch on the phone.
8. When the phone is on, connect it to pc. See if any notification of 'usb debugging' comes in phone, if not, go to settings->about phone->and tap build number 7 times to enable debugging options.
9. Go back and enter developers options(in settings), and check usb debugging on.
10. Now run mtk driod tools and it will detect phone.
11. In mtk droid tools, click 'root, backup and recovery' tab.
12. Click 'To process file ROM_ from Flash Tool.
13. Locate the file you got from read back.
14. Say yes to make CWM recovery automatically.
15. Now wait again.
Once done, you will get your sp flashable backup in MTK Driod Tools/backup.
Read back complete.
FLASHING CWM AND ROOT:
1. Start SP flash tools and click on 'recovery' in sp flash tools and select the CWM recovery made by mtk droid tools (Micromax-A190_xxxx_recovery_) .
2. Click Download in sp flash tools, remove the battery from phone and connect it to pc.
A green circle/download ok will confirm flashing.
3. Insert battery and reboot to recovery. Make a Backup.
4. Select install from sd card and select Unite_2_4.4.2_Proper root......zip and say yes to flash.
5. Reboot, Done.

Finally it happens.. I rooted my phone successfully, n it's confirmed working ☺☺hands down Bro.. U r the man.. Big big cheers for the dev to make it happen.. Thanks a million times bro.. Another fabulous work for us.. God bless u ???

brother please help to install drivers iam not able to install drivers when iconnect my phone to pc wid no battery preloader usb vcom driver installation comes but then it says device unplugged Another thing, when I connect my A190 phone without battery, the device manager list updates itself every two seconds: once it shows the preloader vcom port and then in the next refresh there's no vcom port and this process repeats. Any idea why?

u hav to click tat vcom port and choose update driver with the one u downloaded
