External Audio Buzzing (esp when touching screen) - Galaxy Note 10.1 Q&A, Help & Troubleshooting

I have an ILUV speaker dock for the Galaxy Tab (works with the Note just fine) but when there is no Audio playing a Hum (sounds like a ground loop) tends to cut in and out . The hum gets louder when I touch the screen. Very Odd but any ideas?
Thanks
Nathan

My first thought would be the wires somewhere are not well insulated/shielded. Maybe a cord somewhere is draped on, or too close to, a power cord/source.

Thanks - That is what I thought of too, but tried isolating, changing PS.... then called the MFR who immediately said, it was a faulty unit and they would send another one (it did not sound like an infrequent issue!)

That's a pretty awesome solution!

Here is which helps me a lot, thank you
I have already looked a lot and I do not find real solution
If somebody can propose me a tried solution, I thank him
I am looking for this too and have searched high and low, but with no solution. I also want the notification to sound through the speaker rather than through the headphones too.... Hopefully someone can help us Armand63.
Perhaps Koen-ronse can use his skill at searching?

It seems difficult but never knows one, it is soon Christmas!!
Regrettably, Christmas is crossed and always nothing!! Have to I hope for the New Year's gifts of New Year's Day?
I am also looking forward to this.happy new year
Oh yes please!
It would be soo nice to have this function implemented..
Cross my fingers, and hope someone can come up with a solution!
Happy New Year
it would be great when the phone is in the dock and the resiever is turned off
Hi,
I'm searching for such an application too.
Speaker output even if headphone is plugged.
I need it for Navigation voice output even my TD2 is inside CarCraddle (with Headphone connection). Till now I use "HyperGPS_WM6_B9" which activates speaker output too.
But I do not need the other functions, like TMC from radio, which needs a bit too much energy.
So, it is possible to activate the speaker, but till now I haven't found other solutions, even registry manipulation.
Greetings
Sure would like this too, I miss too many calls when I have my headphones around my neck instead of in my ears. ^^

[Q] No sound over speakers (ringtone works)

Hello!
I've got an strange problem with the audio on my Nexus 5. If I play music without headphones, there's no audio output through the phone speakers. But if I press the Volume-Up-Button the typical sound is played through my phone speakers, and also the ringtone when I'm called is hearable.
If I plug in a headset, every sound is played through the headset, like normally.
I've got the newest CyanogenMod Nightly and I already tried returning to stock, but it doesn't help
It's really frustrating, it suddenly occured, from one day to another.
Looks like my Nexus is always thinking that theres a headset plugged in, even if there isn't. And there's also nothing in the headphone jack.
I've already searched, but hadn't found someone who has a similiar problem, so I thought I ask here, before I contact the Google Support.
Maybe someone of you can help me. Thanks in advance!
Greetings,
Markus
PS: Sorry for my bad english

Have you looked at the media volume level in settings/sounds/volumes? Just to rule it out.
Couple of things.
The phone could think that the headphones are still plugged in. Try plugging it in and pulling out a couple times.
It could be RMA time if you go back to completely stock and this still happens.

I got that problem since more than a week already and I still use my phone, so I plugged it in and out almost permanently, but thanks.
And yeah, looks like it's RMA time, unfortunately.

Then you can do a data factory reset or reflash the factory image and if that doesn`t help yo might contact Google for a RMA (as allready stated above by another user).

already did a factory reset and flashed the factory image, like mentioned in my first post.
Hey, OP, did you find a solution to this? My phone just started doing this today as well, and I'd prefer to avoid RMA if possible.
Well, I found out the phone had been dropped in some semi-liquid food. So I opened up the back cover a bit, found some remains and cleaned it up and now it works fine again. Woot! Not sure if that is relevant to anyone else though (or if it really made a difference or was just a coincidence), lol.
In my case, it wasn't something like that. I just contacted Google for a RMA and got a new device very fast.
Some liquid inside the phone
Hey there!
This afternoon my Nexus 5 started to have the same problem you have related. I remove the back cover and I discover that it was full of liquid against the surface. I was running with the phone in my pocket (condensed sweat), so I recommend not to do that.
I have dried it and it seems that doesn't work yet =(
I hope my answer will help anyone with the same problem (at least to know a possible source of the problem).

[Q] Sound from top of the phone when shaking it?

Hi
I recently heard, that if I shake my phone (pretty hard) I can hear something in the the top of the phone (around the camera). It's not much to, but it's there.
Anyone else having this issue?
Thanks in advance

Yes lets shake our phone as hard as we can and try our best to hear something. Brilliant!
Now, exactly how is this an "issue"?
i think you'r talking about the OIS...try to open up the camera then try to shake it....i have the same "issue" except its not an issue...

Okay, well not issue and no need to shake that hard. But not just a little left-right between the fingertips shake.
Would just want to know if anything was wrong in my device or it's in all the devices.

Replacing headphone jack

Hello,
my headphone jack has recently started to work incorrectly a bit. Sometimes, it detects headphones being jacked in although there are none and thus I cannot talk via the phone (speaker is not working as the phone thinks that headphones are put in). What's more, one of the headphones hardly receives any signal from the jack and just does not play anything, although the headphones are completely okay.
Has anyone of you any experience with replacing the jack? Should I get the phone to some service and let them do the thing or is it doable easily at home? The jack itself is pretty cheap, yet I do do not have the proper screwdrivers or too much experience with so delicate electronics. Screwdrivers are not a problem, yet if it's a rather difficult and risky thing to do, then I'd prefer to give the phone to people who do know what they are doing : )
Also, if anyone has some service manual wherer such replecement is described, I'd appreciate if they shared!
Thanks,
Greg

I just looked up "Xperia L disassembly" on YouTube and found this: https://youtu.be/Ig2ICoM0O4Y
It doesn't look very hard to do, and if something should go wrong you can still go to a repair shop afterwards...

I did find several such videos, but none seems to regard deatching the headphone jack. That's why I was worried if there will be need for some soldering or dealing with very small, delicate elements and I wrote here, as I hoped to hear from some of you, who had already done it.
Should there be no answer, I will try to fix it on my own and post some photos ; )

[Completed] Pixel XL volume problem

Hi I'm new here. I was hoping someone could help me figure out a solution for the volume problem i'm having with my Pixel XL. The volumed is at max capacity but the output is terrible. I literally have to put the speaker part of the phone in my ear for me to hear anything. I've contacted google and they couldn't figure out why, instead they are sending me out a new phone but i don't want a new phone because i have a dbrand skin on the phone i have now and that cost like 20 bucks. If anyone could offer any suggestions on how to fix this volume problem, i'd greatly appreciate that. Thank you!

Greetings and welcome to assist. I found this thread on speaker issue here
https://forum.xda-developers.com/pixel-xl/help/pixel-xl-speaker-issue-t3483952
that may help. The only other thing you could do is root the device and either mod your audio config file or install a sound mod but this would probably void your warranty
Good Luck
