Buddy...just enter recovery...you know how to enter Cwm right...then there is an option to wipe data/format. Select it to wipe data...this will reset your phone..
Thank me if I helped you...

@fonetalker101 To boot into CWM turn off your phone then turn it back on when you see sony logo continuously press volume down button untill you enter recovery. when installing CWM make sure you are "ROOTED" and have usb debugging checked in developer settings.

Xperia Arc ICS 4.1.B.0.431 (rooted!)

I am a new member here and I have maybe an solution for all you out there who keep tryin to root the ICS 4.1.B.0.431 version on their Xperia Arc
It worked for me so please feedback and correct me if i am wrong
So I done that like this:
1. I downloaded the stock ICS 4.1.B.0.431 for my Arc.
2. I flashed it on my Arc with flashtool.
3. Then I tried to root it with Rooting Toolkit for Xperia 2011 ICS by Doomlord ( http://forum.xda-developers.com/showthread.php?t=1601038 ) but no succes
4. I found that thread: [07/04][arc/arc s][ics 4.0.3] very stabe, smooth, nice and best for battery fc3.0
5. And in this thread I found that kernel: http://www.mediafire.com/?8499hc90y9eoa06
6. I flashed it on my Arc with the stock ICS
7. I used again the Rooting toolkit by Doomlord
8. And voiiiiiila........i got root!
As mentioned I tried that and it worked for me
thanks for the tips and solution dude

Bunnybash you need flashtool (better for beginners), the kernel which i provided in my thread (thanks to the dev who made it) and of course a Xperia Arc
First download the kernel and after that the kernel which you put somewhere on your desktop.
Then after installing open up Flashtool and click on the lightning (sory my english is bad) and select fastboot mode.
Then just click on select kernel to flash and clickthe one you placed on the desktop.
Follow the on-screen instructions and you are done

I have a Xperia ARC, after trying to root my phone by different ways, flashing so many roms, I found the way to get it. But not with 4.1.B.0.431, I got it with 4.1.A.0.562 and I have locked bootloader.
First you have to download the 4.1.A.0.562 rom, as I see you know how to flash it. Go to this post: http://forum.xda-developers.com/showthread.php?t=1598072 and download the rom.
Then go to this forum Thanks to DoomLord http://forum.xda-developers.com/showthread.php?t=1601038 and there you have the instruction to root your xperia.
Please read CAREFULLY the instructions, download ALL the files it suggest before start the procedure. And in the step 5 and 6, do it as it says, if not you won't get you phone rooted.
Keep reading the instruction in the CMD window during the rooting process specially when it says: Turn off and On USB debbuging.
Please thanks people in the forum I suggest, they were whom really did the job. Hope this could help you.

[Q] Xperia J no recovery installing

Hello all, I am trying to stick a recovery such as Clockworkmod on my Xperia J which is currently running stock JB rooted and unlocked boot loader. I have been able to get a recovery easily on my previous devices but this one stumped me and it's a real shame as I was planning on flashing AVD rom. Tried all methods here in xda and loads of other but can never get it to work. Can someone give me a link to one that worked for them with detailed instructions on how to do so? It would be much appreciated

For locked bootloader: http://forum.xda-developers.com/showthread.php?t=2333078
For unlocked bootloader just flash boot.img (you can find it in my mediafire folder---> link in signature) . After flashing turn on phone and start pressing volume - down button until you see cwm recovery... then you flash rom and turn off the phone. After that flash back kernel.sin the stock kernel of .31 jb or you will stuck at boot!

I m looking to get a better stock based ROM.. Suggestion?
Sent from my ST26i using xda app-developers app
If you are using A rooted Xperia J I can only say thanks to gavster26 that ROM rocks Install AVD ROM, no lag at all ( due to Supercharger V6 ) install the Supercharger V8 and get better performance, the ROM is also stock based JB with Xperia Z media apps and pre-rooted for convenience, a few errors of the ROM is that in the lock screen a tricky way to get in is to pull down the status bar and go to settings, and whala your in, some buttons seem overlapped, ( The one in the clock )
I am Running on Xperia J Powerd by AVD ,
BTW you dun have to flash boot.img since there is a batch file to install CWM on Xperia J (The latest of course) the previous had an error on booting which means its stuck at SONY logo

Directly booting to recovery

I have a rooted S-7500, with CWM recovery 5.0.2.8 installed. I (by mistake) allowed the 'software update' option to install a system update(or something) today by mistake (I know, you should never install system updates after rooting. My bad.) Since then, the phone directly goes to the cwm recovery mode on powering on, and i am unable to do anything else
I am not very well versed with the finer details of rooting bootloader recovery n all...so pls some details with steps...if possible .
Any help whatsoever...please I will be really grateful

Thanks!!! It totally worked!
Just a clarification...now that i have got the stock rom back on my phone...am i right in saying that I have lost root access, my phone is totally back to the 'original' state, and i have lost CWM as well? Please correct me if I am wrong.
And assuming that I am correct(above), I would like to re-root my device(need to use proxydroid to surf internet over the damned proxy server!). So..can I follow the standard method, ie, can I do it the same way I had done before, or do i need to do something different now?
And once again...THANK YOU for your help! I had ended up hard bricking my previous phone, and was really scared when this happend to my aceP. You saved me!
Easy way to ROOT your SGAP
Yes by the time you flash stock rom you loss root even any custom recovery you flashed before...
but now if you want to root your SGAP again don't follow that guide again which you done before just follow this :
Download ODIN from Downloading link below (inside ODIN software folder)
Download any one recovery which you like TWRAP / CWM v5.5 (inside Custom recovery folder)
Download Root_SGAP.zip from Root folder & place that zip inside in your sd card
Click to collapse
Download Link : GALAXY Ace Plus - Basic stuff
FOR Custom_Recovery :
Open odin, be sure your system has already install drivers & if kies is there close it.
extract recovery zip
connect device to pc in download mod (vol down + power + home) & select that (recovery) .md5 file in pda section inside ODIN software
Click start & wait to reboot device
FOR ROOT :
Now boot device in CWM mod ( vol up + down + power + home)
choose zip from sd card & select Root_SGAP.zip
DONE.

Just 1 more qstn...is it necessary to apply a custom recovery before rooting? If no, is it recommended?? Because the last time i rooted, it made me put a custom recovery before rooting.

if you are going to stick on stock rom forever & only want to root device then stock recovery is ok for you...
but while dealing with custom roms, custom recoveries are smart choice.
it has lot of additional options than stock recovery.
so my opinion yes use custom recovery

What for a ROM and CWM Version have you using?
CWM6.0.2.9 goes not for the most ROMs! You must need CWM6.0.4.4 or higher, or TWRP-Recovery for Padfone 2!
Perhabs your Device can reactivatet by a new Firmware-Flash with CWM6.0.4.4 or TWRP!
Thank you so much for your replies

I think you have Flash the fals national Rom! TW = Taiwan-ROM, CHT = China-ROM, WW = Worldwide-English, and so on! Thats named SKU Version of the ROM! When your padfone from Europa or USA than you need a WW or WWE ROM! It gives a thread on XDA for flashing other, false, back SKU on Padfones! Search that thread, there a tuturials for Changing or Flash back SKUs! Your device need a Flash back to his original SKU-Version of your ROM!
And for CWM your padfone must be unlocked! But thats simple! On Asus Homepage search your device, and than you can Download a Unlock-APK! Download and install thies apk on your padfone, and start it, than your bootloader is unlocked! And after that, you can install CWM or TWRP on several ways!

Build-Number is not important!
May be i can help you! Can you start the device in CWM-Mode? Can you go in CWM? In case that you can, load a TW-ROM (TW=Taiwan) via ADB-Sideload over CWM to your device! Than the device should install the original TW-ROM automaticaly!
In case that CWM not Functional, try to turn off the device, wait 30-seconds, than hold the ``+`` (Plus) button on the side of the device, and turn on the device where you hold the ``+`` (Plus) button permanently! Yet should come the ASUS-Logo and in the Top of the Display should stand ``Fastboot-Mode``! Can you please try that, and say me what the device do!?

Ok! I think it is the old CWM6.0.2.9 problem, this version of CWM has problems with flashing ROMs! BUT, there is one ROM on XDA for Padfone2 that must flash with CWM6.0.2.9! It is Tari's Padfone2 Custom ROM+Kernel! It is easy to find on XDA, and this ROM will flashing over Sideload with CWM6.0.2.9! Search on XDA for Tari's Padfone2 ROM, there you can Download the files, and there is also a step by step tuturial, follow that, and try!
And have you tested that Fastboot goes?

yes i tried fastboot and sideload i have no problem with that i can send the roms to my phone but the problem my phone cant flash it ?
OK! But i think your Bootloader is Open, than otherwise, you cant go in Fastbootmode or CWM!? Fastbootmode and CWM (Recovery), that is the Bootloader!
You can go in CWM, then you can make the flash-prozedure of all ROMs! (Stock and Custom)!
Try Taris ROM! Go in CWM, make Wipe Data/Factory Reset, make Wipe Cache, and Sideload Taris ROM!
Did that not work, try CWM6.0.4.4 or TWRP-Recovery to Flash Original ASUS-TW-Firmware!
And when you can start CWM with - fastboot boot recovery.img - , than normaly you can also Flash it permanently with - fastboot flash recovery recovery.img - !

oh ,, just to let you know when i used the cwm 6.0.2.9 i cant do wipe -factory reset or wipe cashe its gave me e: cnt mount but on stock recovery i can do wipe cashe and factory reset but it take too long to do that
There is a other custom ROM for Padfone2 from Sissidroid! Search on XDA for - Guerilla ROM - it is easy to find, and in the thread to this ROM there is a link for Download CWM6.0.4.4. Because CWM6.0.4.4 is needed to Flash Guerilla-ROM from Sissidroid!
In Google search - TWRP for Padfone2 - then you find a TWRP-Site, from there you can Download TWRP-Recoverys for Padfone2. Take the Version 2.6.3.0 of TWRP, not other. The other Versions dont go! TWRP is a Recovery like CWM, but TWRP has a Touch-Interface, and the funtionality is often better than CWM!

ok am gonna look for cwm6.0.44 and for twrp 2.6.3.0 and flash one of them on my phone not just like how i was did i mean just boot it and after that flash one of the roms which you told me about them already but just to remind you my phone its not rooted is that fine ... let me know and thank you so much my friend
The Root is here not so important. In most cases a ROM-Flash Unrooting the device! Every Time when i Flash a ROM, the device is after the Flash unrooted, and i must it Root again! Root is important for a Running System! And it gives a way to Root the Device over ADB/Fastboot, but i dont know how. But i have never Need a Root for ROM-Flash!

hi my friend : i have problem with flashing the recovery { fastboot flash recovery recovery.img } i dont know why and i tried to just boot the recovery img for test : fastboot boot boot recovery.img i tried it with twrp and its show me just the picture TEAM WIN BUT ITS NOT FUNCTIONAL CHECK THE PICS PLEASE AND LET ME KNOW WHAT IS THE PROBLEM AND THANKS
On the pics i see, that recovery-flash was failure! In your CMD-pic, adb gives you a writing-failure! That can happen, when you try it ones! Try it again, and also with cwm! What for twrp version have you try? By right flashing, cmd gives you a sending recovery ok, and writing recovery ok! You have sending ok, but writing a failure!?
And what for adb/fastboot binarys use you?
P.s.: I have a important question, as you tryed to flash Asus Firmwares, have you unzip the Firmware before flashing? Or just Download and Flash how it is!
