Sony Tipo Customization?

Hello. I bought my Sony Tipo(India) a couple of months ago. I'm new to Android world. I've decided to customize my phone. So i want to know the software's i should have to customize Sony Tipo. Please suggest ONE BEST SOFTWARE for each steps. I get confused when replied with multiple software's. Now i've Bootloader unlock allowed: yes. So what should i do know? Please tell me step by step. I read many threads, but got totally confused. So i started this thread. Thanks in Advance! Please help me through. :fingers-crossed:

to root your phone
1. put your phone in debugging mode
2. connect to pc
3. download and extract this
4. run 'RunMe.bat'
5. follow instructions
6. phone rooted
You need Clock Works Mod to install custom roms
you can find CWM and instructions here
once you've downloaded the file, only follow Installation and How to use section.
To install custom rom,download a rom that you want, and follow instructions on page

There is no stable rom for tipo yet......

Also get flashtool and 11.4.a.16 ftf from teamex's thread you will get flashtool guide anywhere on tipo i am also a noob i briked my phone three times before the ftf helps to revive that cheers!

Sounds like You r new in android world. so i advice don't use any custom rom. 'couse they r kind a unstable. [your phone can be bricked in the process] just root your phone and use titanium backup and delete all unnecessary apps. and enjoy it..

How To Root
1. Connect the phone in debugging mode via USB. To enable debugging mode, go to Settings => Development => Check "USB Debugging".
2. Wait for the drivers to install. Happens automatically on Windows 7 and Windows 8.
3. Download the zip file below (motochopper) and extract it.
4. After extracting, run "Run.bat". Admin rights usually not needed.
5. Follow On-Screen instructions.
6. Root complete.
7. ENJOY
FOR FULL ROOT:-

FOR 4.2.2
A) IF BOOTLOADER UNLOCKED
1. Download su.zip from below.
2. Paste it in Internal Storage (NO FOLDER)
3. Flash a kernel using flashtool (Use phantom V3 or Thunderzap)
4. Enter CWM recovery.
5. Flash su.zip
6. Shut Down device from CWM -> Advanced -> Shut Down.
7. Flash stock kernel from ftf using flashtool. (Exclude everything except for kernel) [See SS]
8. ENJOY
*Do Not use vengeance 2.0+ as they might mess the WiFi modules.
B) IF BOOTLOADER NOT UNLOCKED
NOTE: This method requires the use of vroot. Proceed on own risk.
1. Download su.zip and vroot.
2. Turn off internet connection of phone and laptop which youre using.
3. Root via Vroot.
4. Backup TA.
5. Unlock BootLoader.
6. Flash ftf. (Wipe everything)
7. Flash a custom kernel.
8. Flash su.zip.
9. Reboot.
10. ENJOY

Hey thanx for the share, but didn't work for me. All things got done and my Xperia L(C2104) rebooted, but everything is same. No root.

This was originally for Motorola devices but it has been tested on various other device including Asus Transformer and my Xperia L!

Well, its a matter of hit and try..!! You could try it and see if it works. I don't think that the rooting script is chipset specific. But it maybe that as well. We don't get Qmobile here in India, so don't know the specifics. It might work or it might fail. At most the phone won't and you will be stuck on bootscreen. You can get that fixed at the service centre if its in warranty (don't tell them you tried rooting.)

I should work. I have tested this on many more devices ( I will add of those in a while though) You should try it again. And also it dosen't matter where you live.

it says device not found
well sir i gave it another try. all was going on well. in the end it said "error : device not found "
and not rooted.

Do one thing and see if su is there. If it is then remove it along with root (there is and option in settings of su) and then re-root it. While in the the process of rooting, don't touch anything on your phone or pc. And I hope this time you are able to root it!
Also confirm if it works and what device you used.

First check with root checker and ota voodoo to see if there is any tick in the boxes. If not try to install SU and see it it works out.
If not then,
1. Download busybox https://play.google.com/store/apps/details?id=stericson.busybox (Only the app and not busybox)
2. Root with motochopper
3. If exploit dosen't show any error, INSTALL busybox from the app and then check SU
I tested both the exploits on Xperia SP. Gave me an error in the explot a few times but worked out though. It also gave me an error that it is not rooted even after i got no error in the exploit. Just had to install busybox and voila it worked

Actually, it's just the drivers which should be installed. In Win7, they are automatically installed but they take some time as they are downloaded and installed. So that's why the rooting is stuck at that point as the drivers are still being installed in the background.

[Q] AVD Rom Xperia J

I have a Rooted Xperia J with Locked Bootloader running on Stock ICS The first instruction was easy so I downloaded the ZIP file of the ROM and put it in the root of my sdcard. This instruction is where I got lost2a) Locked BL- Download & install CWM from here http://forum.xda-developers.com/show....php?t=2333078 the jb kernel to reflash is .21 FW just flash my kernel ftf. Or Downgrade to ICS & root & Install CWM
I installed Rom Manager Premium on my phone and when i tried downloading CWM it my phone isn't on the list of compatible devices and

I installed the install>bat file but it said It is not recognized as an internal/external commandBut it said finished. I opened ROM manager and it still said it required CWM please help

Buddy...just enter recovery...you know how to enter Cwm right...then there is an option to wipe data/format. Select it to wipe data...this will reset your phone..

@fonetalker101 To boot into CWM turn off your phone then turn it back on when you see sony logo continuously press volume down button untill you enter recovery. when installing CWM make sure you are "ROOTED" and have usb debugging checked in developer settings.

Xperia Miro Problem rooting & cwm. [Solved]

Hello I wanted to put Gimlo in my friends Miro St23i and I had tons of problems.
First I wanted to root it, it had the latest firmware, Unlock Root wouldn't detect the phone with usb debugging on.
I managed to root it by flashing to 11.0.A.2.10 and using unlockroot, it worked.
I tried to install CWM after but it didn't worked, it always said device not found.
I downlaoded Root Checker , my phone was rooted, I installed busybox also.
But CWM wouldn't install ! I updated with SEUS and root was gone.
CWM doesn't want to install it always says that phone not found.
Can you leave a tip?
I have a Tipo Dual Unlocked bootloader with Vengeance 1.46 kernel & Gimlo rom, it was piece of cake.
But with Miro I cannot root as easy and cannot install CWM or TWRP

EDIT: Maybe the Comodo firewall has to do something? I had it on Game mode.

you have to install adb drivers for miro first.
i suggest you download "universal naked drivers" (search)
then turn on usb debugging from settings of phone.
then download cwm for miro and follow the steps.

I cannot find miro adb drivers, isn't it universal? I only found Tipo adb drivers on google.

Install Pdanet and select your phone brand there if not there then select other brands, hit thanks if i helped

hey recently i had been planning to root my phone xperia L (c2104) since the sony stock os that i had on my phone had a lot of bugs on it.
so i started reading about bootloader which i have to unlock before rooting.
so i went to the sony website and followed each and every instruction given there.
it asked me to open command window and enter the unlock key.
i entered this key and i DIDNT get ANY error messages it showed that its done.
so i was happy
until i removed my phone and tried to start it
now it is stuck in bootloop.
please help me.

search how to flash ftf file and flash it using falshtool:good:

(for me) Flashtool is the best way to unlock/relock bootloader. its hassle free you dont need cmd promt.

if you still got bootloop, flash your device to to your stock FW/FTF
if you dont have your device back up
just search your stock FW in C2104 section here : http://forum.xda-developers.com/xperia-l/general/sony-xperia-l-flashable-ftfs-locked-t2560642

my device i not rooted yet, and i cant root it because its stuck in bootloop (atleast i think that to root my phone i need it to be on(?)). i am downloading stock ROM 15.3.A.0.26(i dnt remember the build that was on my device so this is an older version) for my device c2104 ...so my question is : you said i need to root my phone to use flash tool .but my device isnt rooted.

just try flashing to stock using flashboot.

Flashing a stock ftf NEVER needs rooted device.
And you can still flash if it's in bootloop. Search in the general info thread and you'll find complete tutorials.
