I searched here and there and found this good app, but it force closes every time i open it,
I tried running it on like 4 roms, but still it force crashes,
I contacted OP and he said something wrong happened(i showed him logcats)
Is there any way i can run this app?
PS: as said, i tried running it on 4.x android ...
Also, if someone can try this on other roms aswell, and if it runs there, plz tell me Thanks

hi, i don't know this is the right forum. i used "read it later" heavily in winmo (thanks to vizier and his latereader) and am now switching to android. it seems that the read it later client paperdroid is no longer supported by the developer in froyo. has anyone able to make it work or do you think some of our talented developers can make it work again?
Will it not install? Will it not launch? Does it run but just not work?
it installs fine but crashes right away after launching.
You should use logcat or any other log capture app to see why it crashes. It would help finding out what's going on and if its possible to fix.
FYI, paperdroid is running fine for me on 2.2 on my evo... Aren't there a few options for read it later on android? I thought I saw a few different apps for it on the read it later site.
Sent from my phone.
thanks for your responses. i will check again if it works or not (I tried several times already but if you got it working there may be hope). i will try logging the error reports also.
as for other ReadItLater clients, Paperdroid seems to be the only Android full RIL client. There seem to plugins for saving links etc.
Also, what phone do you have?
I have a HD2 and run Android off of the SD card. I don't know if that might be the problem.
I tried a different Android built and Paperdroid seems to work. So it's not a Froyo issue after all.
Thanks for all your replies.
Hi ppl
I am having weird reboots with my Moto Defy, and i have no idea about what is causing the problems
I flashed it with adlxmod 2.0.0 and have a lot of apps (a lot on my sd too)
I suspect but have no proof that some program could be doing that, so i started taskmanager to see what programs are autostarting with the device, so i hope somebody here could check if i have some problematic program, so i can uninstall, or have some workaround to avoid those reboots.
I had a microsd (sandisk) that had some bad blocks, thought it was the bad sd, so i changed to the card that came with the phone, checked the card for errors, and it was fine, but the problems started again
And sometimes when i am charging the phone and disconnect from the charger, it restarts (that happens a lot, dunno why). Maybe the battery is bad ?
Hope somebody helps me out with that (cos i have no money to buy another phone now eheheh)
Tks for the help !

Use app monitoring tool
I am the developer of "Droid Of The Day" and can confirm that it probably isn't my app causing your problem. The service I start on completion of boot is used to schedule a daily alarm for the notification (and nothing more). So, it really doesn't do much that could cause the type of problems you are talking about.
I would try to use some app monitoring tools (like JuiceDefender, or Android System Information - ASI) - or the built in tools to figure out what might be hogging resources..
Good luck.
hi mwolfson, tks for the help, and btw i really like you app
Fixed that with a help from another thread, removing that anti-static rubber from the battery part of the device, and with some durex, and now its fine ehehehe
Its a weird bug or lack of quality in hw building, but now its fixed eheheh

Hello all,
I dont know why but my defy randomly reboots while I´m using some app.
Then I found out in this forum to flash a file, but I dont know how to do that.
I sent my phone to motorola assistance and then they said the phone was fine, but yesterday when I turn this on, it rebooted again.
So how can I solve this?
Does anyone have an idea?
I´m from Brazil, if that helps to get a flash file of my region and I´m using Android 2.1
Thanks in advance
same problem with al Defy(+) users!!!!

Same here! Caused me al lot of trouble (random reboots while calling!!!)!!!! Of as today i'm using CM9 os. I'll have to be patient.
I think your problem has something to do with overclocking or undervolting , but to be sure , you have to try some things like :
1- Wipe cache and dalvik
2- Untick all apps from runing with system start-up , Just to ensure that this problem is an app related issue
3- If nothing worked , then i think you should backup all your apps "Just app and don't backup it's data , only apps and i recommend Go Backup "
And reset factory settings
4- If nothing solved the issue , then you have to try another rom that is based on CM
I hope i could helped , and wish that problem not to be hardware related
If you are overclocked then lower the frequencies, go back to stock freqs.

Hope there is still someone checking in here that could give me some ideas about a little problem I'm having. Running an (obviously) rooted continuum,Ciscogee's deodexed EC09. Everything seems to work just fine, really well in fact, until I flash Trailblazer101's EC09 Everything_SpearoidBLUESOFTKEY.zip. After flashing this, I have problems with the browser FC'ing when trying to open HTTPS links, and I get a Nullpointerexception on a couple apps that working fine before. It seems to have something to do with the CertificateChainValidator. I've tried different Browsers from the Market, and they will open the HTTPS links, but I still get the nullpointerexception on the two apps, one is my mobile banking app and the other is a mobile app for Microsoft Outlook. It's not critical that I have these apps working, but it would be handy! I'm hoping that one of you "code gurus" know a relatively easy fix for this. I think I've attached a screenshot of the crash report, but I'm kinda new at this whole forum thing, so forgive me if I didn't get something right. If anyone has time to look into this and needs more information just let me know! I appreciate any help I can get!!
On a side note: Don't want anyone to think I'm complaining about either of these mods, in fact, even if I can't get this problem fixed I'm still going to use them...the "coolness" factor outweights not having a couple apps working!

The way that I fixed this issue personally was to go into Browser, then Settings, go to the Search Providers, and click "Bing". Let me know if that worked for you!
Thanks Trailblazer, that did fix the browser issue, but still having the FC with the apps. Do you know if the Everything mod changed/moved/removed anything concerning SSL or the Certificate Chain Validator? From what I can see the apps are complaining about something either not being there or already being used by another process, but I can’t even find where it is. To say I know nothing about Linux/Android programming is an understatement, so I'm kinda shooting in the dark Thanks for the help, and I appreciate the work you've done on this phone!

This has been brought up before by other people, and I can assure you that I didn't change anything to do with that, haha... There are a few guesses: I did change the Browser App to remove the "frozen" links and bing as the search provider as default... That modified apk is sometimes included in my packages... You can try restoring the original, but I don't think it'll help.... What fixed everything for me was doing what I said above... The other guess is that there may be something wrong with permissions, idk...
But I can promise you this: I didn't do anything to the Certificate Chain Validator, which in fact is a smali (source) file within the framework file...
Oh well, it's just my mobile banking app... get tired off looking at how much money I DON'T have anyway... and my work email, so no big deal. I have other secured apps that work fine, so it must be something about those two. It's worth not having those just so I'm not always accidentally hitting the ticker history and weather!

Morning all, just had a few issues lately with using sites that require ads to work, ahem... Ad - fly with mobile browsers ect.. I've been flashing my note 2 with stock roms, aosp roms.. and not noticed a problem until last night (tried to use a certain ad sustainable site as mentioned above) and it came back telling me I'm using an ad blocker (none installed by myself) I'm almost certain I've used the site on my note once before... But have no idea what rom I'd of been on..so i have been searching around google loads, all the same answers are coming up..however they are simply not working for me ?!
I've deleted the host file, edited it to basic form( a simple one line entry as google suggested)... Tried apps that fix this type of error... All to no prevail... flashed zips via recovery that swapped the host files for another!
Any help would be greatly appreciated!!
Btw i have even gone back to stock, to double check its just not a silly mobile browser thing, but nope, worked fine on stock.
This is on my mind all the time as its annoying when you cant seem to solve an issue !
Hello all,
So I have TWRP 2.6 for my boot recovery on my Transformer Prime TF300T and just installed CyanogenMod 10.1 Nightly build. I couldn't get the 10.0 most recent stable build to actually load up. But the problem that I'm having is now certain applications give me a "Can't download: Error 497" from the playstore. And I get this error with "Goo Manager", "Clean Master", and for some reason "X Comics". But everything else downloads just fine. I've uninstalled, reinstalled the ROMS several times. Done wipes up the wazoo, and so this should be as clean as can be. Like I said, everything works great, but I just can't get those applications. Hoping someone may have a solution.
Thanks.
This sounds similar to problems that I and others are having over here. Does it happen when using cellular data or WiFi? If it's only with WiFi, who is your ISP?
The TF300T is Wi-Fi only. So Cellular isn't an option for me on this device. My ISP is Comcast. Just seems really weird that it's only specific applications.

There are a few causes. Are you using app2sd? Have you fixed permissions? Have you cleared its Data and cache ( under settings / application manager )?
Have you modified your build.prop? Have you modified your dns ( or has another app modified it ) ?
Quoted from a wiki : " Error 497 is related to a downloading category and you usually encounter it while you try to update the applications using a WiFi connection. In this case, adding Google DNS addresses (8.8.8.8 / 8.8.4.4) to your router's configuration settings could solve the problem. "
If none of this works, just google for the app as an apk file and sideload it. Its not a fix for your issue but you can at least get the appp you want installed.
Download the following apk files using your tablet's browser. Then click to install. They are all the latest versions available on the market. I downloaded them on my note 2, backed them up, and uploaded to dropbox for ya.
Heres cleanmaster : http://db.tt/GCqaGdO0
Heres xcomics : http://db.tt/TfLdPn0O
Heres goo manager : http://db.tt/QmvZfkAN
Hit thanks if it helped

I have done a number of complete factory resets, wipes of not just cache but also system and data, with fresh factory images placed down, and I still get the same problem. The only thing that has fixed it for me on my new Nexus 7 has been to use my cell phone's tether so I connect over Sprint instead of Comcast, or to VPN into work which accomplishes the same thing. There's definitely a network issue somewhere, I'd strongly suspect a problem with accessing Google's CDN for app updates.
To answer some of your questions, I have not done any of that, and I'm not sure if any applications messed with my DNS, although I don't have a DNS service setup on my router, so not really sure how that would happen. And I'm not sure if I've fixed permissions yet or not, I'll have to look in recovery and see if I can't figure out a way to do that.
If you haven't guessed by this point, I'm pretty new at all of this. So I'm kinda' learning as I go. I very much appreciate the links for the apk's, and I have downloaded them so you don't need to keep them on your dropbox if you don't want. They work just as expected, so I do appreciate the assistance.
Thanks
If you have a chance, try taking the tablet somewhere where internet isn't provided by Comcast. If you look at the other thread, most of the people there are on Comcast. In my case, as soon as I connect with my phone over WiFi tethering everything works as expected. It's only when I'm on Comcast that I have issues downloading or updating apps.

When I get an opportunity to do so I will. Currently, I don't even know what apps won't work. Since I downloaded the apk's directly and what not, those were the only 3 that I knew were screwing up. But when I get a chance, I'll give the wi-fi a try somewhere else.
