So the graphics are better on GPE than TW phones? I didn't know that. Good to know.

So if I put GE onto my TW phone... Would that change the graphics? I have cm10.2 running 4.3 at the moment.

i9500 doesn't support OpenGL ES 3.0 afaik.

The game is f****jng awesome OmFg but the controls seriously need some work... Same reason I ditched the previous versions for need for speed but I can't ditch this one... Hope they serious overhaul the controls...

PowerVR sgx544mp supports openGL es3.0 features by a series of API extensions. So you might see a very little or I should say "NO" difference in graphics performance.

I mean that i cant see any difference between the 'opengl es 3.0 graphics' on the nexus 7 video, to the graphics on my i9500 (opengl es 2.0)

The I9500 supports DirectX9.0 and coupled with API extensions it has full support of the features of OpenGL ES3.0.
So you won't notice any difference cause there isn't any

You won't notice any difference not because of that, but because asphalt 8 simply doesn't use opengl 3.0, so it runs equally on equally powerful hw such as adreno 320 (sgs4 lte, nexus7 2013 ecc), and powervr (sgs4, ipad ecc).
Also, where did u read that powervr 5xx supports opengl 3.0? Have you a source for this?

There seems to be a balls-load of conjecture in this conversation. I'd be interested in seeing an actual side-by-side comparison to remove the ambiguity.

It doesnt support opengl 3.0 "but" it supports most of opengl es3.0 features with API extensions.
Its all written here: http://withimagination.imgtec.com/i...4mp-a-modern-gpu-for-todays-leading-platforms
Btw asphalt 8 was optimized with some opengl 3.0 features.

How can the Tegra 1Ghz give a higher performace??? no, it's possible that the code written for the Tegra gives better performance than running on a different chipset maybe, but not if the code is written to work on all... I personally believe Tegra are building there own gaming market so that HW companies will move to there chipset, but that's bad (I can think of stronger words!) and it's not the Android way!

I agree, that's what they are trying to do but the Tegra chip is a dual core 1GHz which gives better performance then just a single core 1GHz.

[Q] Can Chainfire 3D improve graphics performance/quality ?

Can the full version of Chainfire 3D improve the graphics quality or performance of the Galaxy R ? I know that it's mostly used to allow non-Tegra devices to run Tegra-only apps.

As you already know its only for non-Tegra devices we don't require ChainFire for playing any games. I don't think it would improve graphics any further.

it can decrease quality of graphics so if u use chainfire on tegra, game graphics will be lowered so that it will work smoothly (we dont need it as we have thd games which uses all tegra gpu cores and delivers awesome performance)
I also think that the galaxy r has very good grapichs.

Chainfire also allows games to be run at a higher quality and allow anti-aliasing .
Also , if you have the relevant shader plugins you could play games made for other graphics hardware

Chainfire remaps the Nvidia API graphics driver calls to the OpenGL standard API. I don't think Nvidia has a very different set of instructions (and developers won't hassle) and this set would be based on OpenGL as well.
Using Chainfire on the i9103 would simply force the game to use the standard 3d acceleration path, with performance relying on the graphics chip and its driver. Probably the difference will be none. Maybe a couple of misplaced effects.

Fix is to not have all Samsung's new software running at the same time. Keep on only 1 or 2 of them at a time.
Already a thread talking about the negatives of the S4 here: http://forum.xda-developers.com/showthread.php?t=2256778
So install a AOSP rom?
I use nova launcher and use a different contact and dialer app.. the device is really smooth.. no lag and I was really worried about it.

Biggest difference between i9500 and i9505..

.. is that i9505 supports Opengl ES 3.0.
I have read many comparison threads but I think no one has realized this yet.

There are two main aspects for determining if a device supports OpenGL ES 3.0 -> the Android OS version, and the Hardware
Sure Android OS 4.3 supports OpenGL ES 3.0, but some custom ROM may not.
So, could you post a screenshot of your Device Info, especially the Android version, custom or not?

1. if HTC One support OpenGL ES 3.0?
this depends one the hardware component configuration. since now, we only find out a few device support OpenGL ES 3.0. HTC One is not listed in. I think I have replied somewhere.
2. Got 0 scores?
This is a bug on some special devices. We have find out test machine and fixed almost.
Please download the latest version, and retry. If it still happen, pls let me know.
3. about the permission
I have asked our R&D team to work on it. please give me some time to get the result.
due to some things, I could not check comments in time. BUT from now on, I will do my best to check your royal comments, and solve your question in time.

In part of 3D benchmark, we added more benchmarking contents which require a higher CPU, so we have to quit support to the ARMv6 CPU.
