how much battery does it cost to listen 4 hours continuing music playback?
in same conditions:
stock kernel: ~25%
vengeance kernel: ~20%
thunderzap kernel: ~7% (intelli_plug and ecomode)
it was tested with all data-connections off and only some screen-on-to-look-on-screen
any performance-losses? only on vengeance with setcpu-profile. else? nope!!!
So yeah it is worth it

[Q] Need a better ROM

Hey guys!
I've tried nearly all of those roms in development section but they were not efficent enough. I've been using my SL for about a year and a half now but i still hate it because it's not smooth as i want it!
Tried many kernels and roms did everything i could do but i'm not able to write message or write anything because it lags a lot!
used hundreds of memory optimizers tried to overclock it to 1.2 ghz with smartassv2 and bfq I/O didn't work as i wanted it and also battery drains so quick bought a new one it's better now but i think it's cuz of roms.
i'm on CM 10 with siri kernel my ram usage is not under 400 MB even if i'm not using it..
Guys i really need help or i'll burn this phone i can't stand really..
Thank you..
buy new one.
or get back to gb, supercharge it and you re done.
I´m on Cyanogen 9, with Alpha 11 Kernel.
Conservative, 1/300.
Works well. I get 2 days battery, with wifi, 2:30 hs of screen on, and a lot of whatsapp.
I almost don´t play games.
I don´t find it as smooth as JB, but I priorize battery life.

Not froyo..flash 2.3.6 ddlf2 value pack....its stable till now....flash latona.pit, then XXKPE WITH ALL 4 files and then DDLF2...then usr bam v14 kernel...if u dnt need root or custom kernel, stay with stock ddlf2 alone..
Wow....
I also seeking new one.
I will try that...
Thank for information:good:

with stock kernel? stock voltages?
I wanted to ask this same question. Currently on CM10.1 Nightly (03/02) and I really like it, quite stable.
But I want to know what the fastest/nicest/smoothest ROM you guys have experienced or are currently rocking on the Nexus S.
I'm happy with slim bean 4.2.2
After 4 days, my battery was still 30%
Silencers automic gb 5.0 ^^ plus doomkernel v22

nice I'll test it :fingers-crossed:
Now I'm testing xylon but after change something in the camera settings, the galery fc..
Testing HellyBean now
Helly Bean with kernel included as some said before. Row-Interactive OC at 1,3GHz
I am running Xylon 4.2.2 with the Devil kernel and it appears to be very responsive stable and smooth. I have tested it's performance and am not dissapointed. Xylon by itself (stock kernel) is barely able to load, but is fast with the kernel flash over... I use it as my daily driver, no worries as of yet.
Battery?

How long does your battery holds on Helly Bean? And do you have a stock battery or you buy a better one?
Is there a link?

I don't know why i don't like ThunderZap kernel. On my first experience, my phone got freeze and then reboot itself. Until now, i am still using extended stock kernel v2 by rachit rawat but i didn't get CWM
Well i am also frightened to flash kernals which overlock my mobile , i dont want kernals that overlock my mobile ! You will have to wait sometime because roms are not present for xperia L so there is also less support cwm kinda things !

As of now Rom's need to be installed via PC and not ClockWorkMod ...
And Yes, the Vengeance Kernel should work on both Rom's since currently all the Kernels as well as Roms are completely based on STOCK .
Hope that clears your doubts .

I have used AVD 1.6 for almost 1.5 year .. just bought Redmi for primary use..
tried many roms and kernel
Right now my XJ is on riches kernel .6.03 and Alien ROM 4.1 .
CPU overclocked to 1.5Gz .. and still battery goes for 4-5 days on moderate use. needless to say ROM is buttery smooth + no bloatware + both cwm and TWRP recoveries in kernel.
have 32G SD card, install onandroid backup and feel freedoms like never before.

I havnt seen any OC statement in Changelog of Vengeance http://forum.xda-developers.com/xperia-j-e/orig-development/kernel-vengeance-t2134810
If you mean Vengeance reloaded .... that kernel doesn't work in XJ and thread is paused / abandoned.
I willl have to search for Intuisy though. .. never see people posting about it for XJ.. thanks ..

+ Simple kernel (1.7) support OC. I dont like vengeance because of microphone problem, while you listen to music and if somebody call,he cant hear you talking, until you reboot phone! Intuisy is great, but I dont like intuisy logo, i like Sony official. So "Simple kernel" is the best choose for me. It's fast,it has overclock + standard features
