I have used AVD 1.6 for almost 1.5 year .. just bought Redmi for primary use..
tried many roms and kernel
Right now my XJ is on riches kernel .6.03 and Alien ROM 4.1 .
CPU overclocked to 1.5Gz .. and still battery goes for 4-5 days on moderate use. needless to say ROM is buttery smooth + no bloatware + both cwm and TWRP recoveries in kernel.
have 32G SD card, install onandroid backup and feel freedoms like never before.

I agree with you, i tried almost all roms on XJ. But I keep going back to alienrom.
But if looking for best UI, seraphic is the best.

There's Intuisy and Vengeance Kernel which both support OC for stock ROMs

I havnt seen any OC statement in Changelog of Vengeance http://forum.xda-developers.com/xperia-j-e/orig-development/kernel-vengeance-t2134810
If you mean Vengeance reloaded .... that kernel doesn't work in XJ and thread is paused / abandoned.
I willl have to search for Intuisy though. .. never see people posting about it for XJ.. thanks ..

+ Simple kernel (1.7) support OC. I dont like vengeance because of microphone problem, while you listen to music and if somebody call,he cant hear you talking, until you reboot phone! Intuisy is great, but I dont like intuisy logo, i like Sony official. So "Simple kernel" is the best choose for me. It's fast,it has overclock + standard features

[Q] Need a better ROM

Hey guys!
I've tried nearly all of those roms in development section but they were not efficent enough. I've been using my SL for about a year and a half now but i still hate it because it's not smooth as i want it!
Tried many kernels and roms did everything i could do but i'm not able to write message or write anything because it lags a lot!
used hundreds of memory optimizers tried to overclock it to 1.2 ghz with smartassv2 and bfq I/O didn't work as i wanted it and also battery drains so quick bought a new one it's better now but i think it's cuz of roms.
i'm on CM 10 with siri kernel my ram usage is not under 400 MB even if i'm not using it..
Guys i really need help or i'll burn this phone i can't stand really..
Thank you..
buy new one.
or get back to gb, supercharge it and you re done.
I´m on Cyanogen 9, with Alpha 11 Kernel.
Conservative, 1/300.
Works well. I get 2 days battery, with wifi, 2:30 hs of screen on, and a lot of whatsapp.
I almost don´t play games.
I don´t find it as smooth as JB, but I priorize battery life.

Not froyo..flash 2.3.6 ddlf2 value pack....its stable till now....flash latona.pit, then XXKPE WITH ALL 4 files and then DDLF2...then usr bam v14 kernel...if u dnt need root or custom kernel, stay with stock ddlf2 alone..
Wow....
I also seeking new one.
I will try that...
Thank for information:good:

[Q] Tipo CPU and GPU Overclocking

Hi!
I have rooted Tipo. Running on Free Xperia kernel (3.0.8-FXP-g22c38de5) with MIUI 3.7.19 ported for Tipo on Android 4.1.2. What a long sentence So, my question is; can i overclock GPU and/or CPU. I have tried to overclock, but i only was able to underclock
you can only overclock cpu at stock rom with vergeance kernel (1.40) but it isnt stable

So I can't
Ok, i might test it later, but not now since it's unstable. Thanks for info

either you don't have init.d support or busybox, or adrenaline engine is really worthless, IDK check if you have those two things, if you have them then adrenaline engine doesn't work well on CM. I noticed some improvement with multitasking on stock rom

You can use 1.40 vengeance kernel with gimlo rom.....i come from cm10 and miui.....believe me ...this rom is pretty fast.....and with vengeance kernel, i get 5041 score in antutu benchmark .
Earlier this vengeance kernel was very unstable......but now with gimlo ,this is behaving very well.....no doubt there are some some reboots when you strain the cpu a lot but thats very predictable
And one funny thing....i can play subway surfers all day long without any reboot ...hhaahaaa my fav game
Try it
If you get unstabilities, you can always switch back to stock...or better set the vengeance kernel to 800 (its rock stable there) and still you ll get 200 more points than stock Its a win-win situation .

It's more stable, but no overclock. I haven't tried it still, but I don't recommend using 1.40. If you want to play a 3d game or watch a flash video on a website the phone will reboot, regardless of the frequency or governor/io set
So now i know what to do.

So I'm going to install 1.46 and probably not overclock. I may test it, but if it crashes all the time, i'm not going to overclock.

Anybody tried Asphalt 8 on your phone?

So I installed CM10 for good today, and was pleasantly surprised to find Asphalt 8 suddenly available. Since it's downloading right now (799 MB / 1.55 GB), I got curious. Anybody tried this game? Is it slow? Quick? Fun? Boring? Anything?
PS: If you have stock, you probably can't see the game. If you have CM, you probably can. I have no idea why.

jjm34 with hsr0's kernel. FXP has huge issues on my device (home button, calls, major slowdowns, FCs), hsr0's can't hang up a call, and jjm34's doesn't have proper battery (always reports 100%). jjm34 has call fixed, and hsr0's kernel has fixed battery and (bonus!) stable overclock.
1.51 GB out of 1.55! I hate my connection.

CM10 kernel won't work on stock. Something to do with the ramdisk.
Same thing for me, game was a bit laggy. I'm currently installing PurePerformaces X, which will hopefully decrease lag.

Last I checked, Asphalt 8 was an app, so Themes and Apps is a valid section as well!
I have MW on my Nexus 7, but the game is too damned big for the E, and I don't have an external SD card right now (and I don't plan to - the internal one's fine for just about everything else).
Tried it ony My AlienROM on Riches Kernel OC to 1.3Ghz Performance Governor, Crossbreeder and Adrenaline Engine, zRam to 26% with Kernel Samepage Mergin and purging of assets checked, works but with slight lag

Really? The E's got the same guts as the J, but lesser resolution, so in theory it should work less. I had hsr0's kernel, OCed to 1.3 Ghz, interactive governer, zRAM 15%, purging of assets and JIT enabled. It lagged about just enough for me to consider it to be “too slow” and delete it.
I tried to install this on stock firmware on xperia e, at first it said it is incompatible with the xperia e. Then I installed Xposed Framework and All Apps Google Play Module and set the dpi to 240 for the play store. When I launched the play store after this it showed and I could install it but I got error 942 (It is to do with DPI). Therefore the xperia e cannot get Asphalt 8 due to the DPI of the phone which is 160.
Anyone Got a Fix for error 942?

Download this ROM: http://forum.xda-developers.com/showthread.php?t=2518451
Now open the zip file with 7-Zip, WinRAR, or whatever tool you use. You'll see a boot.img file. That's the kernel. Flash it with fastboot.
Here's the thing It's not the Porcessor that runs the game it's the GPU and OC to 1.3Ghz ain't a big thing. Asphalt 8 was meant for Dual core phones and our phones our cheap and entry level so don't expect performance like those big phones like Xperia Z

And Yes, the Vengeance Kernel should work on both Rom's since currently all the Kernels as well as Roms are completely based on STOCK .

[Q] help : installing cwm recovery without flashing any kernel

Hi can anyone help me in installing cwm recovery in c2104 without flashing thunderzap, phantom or any other kernel?
My device is entirely rooted with an unlocked bootloader _
I don't know if this will work, but search xparts in the play store, it is an app for flashing xperia recoveries. Idk if it supports L though. But worth a try. Or just download a recovery from ROM manager. Also found in the play store.

Nothing different between flashing kernels or installing recovery. Flashing kernel is way easier and faster so I would just flash this instead going around and bothering with recovery instalation.
