Dear devs,
alquez needs a helping hand and/or a pair of eyes that can help him.
He already more or less knows where the fault lays but he can't get rid of it atm, but the problem is that he can't get help at his section, cause he is the only one who tries to port cyanogen for the wildfire s and all others no nothing about aosp roms.
It's a small device, but it also deserves it to get such a nice ROM and alquez is a good developer, but it's hard to do the whole stuff alone, so pls guys take a look at his current beta and give him a hint or maybe speak to him yourself, any help would be much appreciated
Pls help this small but nice device to get what it deserves
Thx in advance!
Here is the link to his ROM (the link to his source is in his sig)

Here is what's left to be done:

I need someone to help me with issues, because I don't have time right now, and I don't want the project to be abandoned. Most of them are kernel related.
Few notes:
- The kernel that works with most functions uses the test branch from Drowningchild's fork
- You need to find better wifi drivers (pure android bcm4329 works, but its unstable)
- Camera flash bug, it's really annoing. Someone should try to mess around with unified cm kernel
- the AOSP code i kanged into board-marvel.c is _not-the-best-one_ and it should be cleaned up/changed
- You won't get video playback to work using official htc kernel sources, sou basically, we are forced to use cm7 based kernels, because of aosp style drivers
- files to look at - ls /arch/arm/mach-msm/board-marvel* - someone should correct marvelc andf marvelct too (for ther variants of phone)
I'll resume work ASAP.

I know your trying to get the attention of the developers in this section, I know you've stated this isn't for the Desire S, I know your intentions are right.
But mate seriously. This is not a development thread for the HTC Desire S. This should be in the general section. Lastly you could have even PM'd one of the developers to consider having a look.

I know your right and I already knew it before I opened this thread, but I hope you can forgive me my fault, it wasn't meant bad at all and I also don't wanted to cause any problems with it, I would also understand if the thread would be moved or deleted, I wouldn't be happy about it, but I would understand it^^
If you're really strict the general section also would be the wrong place, cause it's also related to the wrong device, but even if I post there the chance to find someone that maybe wants to help is much less then here, that's why I tried it this way. And I didn't pm any dev, cause atm they got enough to do with ics and I don't wanted that one of them does it cause he/she thinks he/she has to, I was hoping someone who really wants to join can see that there is the need for it.
Also for sure not all devs are that present here every time, with such a thread the chance is higher to reach more of them.
And last but not least our devs are some of the nicest on xda as much as I know, that's also a reason why I made it here and not anywhere else.

Feel your pain. The desire s was like that months ago. However, the desire s still doesn't have many developers, especially kernel devs. You may find help here and kudos if you do but you may get better luck asking devs in the desire HD forums.
Sorry I couldn't help

First off all thx for the hint
I know that, I've seen it myself, unfortunately you used the app to answer, otherwise you would have seen my sig^^
But the big plus the desire s got is the better hardware, the wildfire s is somehow as old as the desire s, but cause of the weaker cpu, the smaller ram & rom size there are much less developers.
I know we haven't as much as others, but we got great devs like superkid, nexx, cayniarb, just to name a few and i'm sure there are many more 'at the underground'^^
At desire HD forum are as much as i know great developers, but not really nice guys, that's what i meant that our devs (the desire s devs) are some of the nicest on xda. And cause of this i was hoping it maybe would be easier to find someone here.
But anyway i will also try it at the desire hd forum, maybe i even can keep my head there^^
Try to contact Nexx, Caynarib or SuperKid.
OK guys, so long story short, my X8 broke down and I am looking forward into bying the inspire or the desire hd for easter. As I have seen on the forums the HD has more development and has custom kernels ( I haven't found any for the inspire, correct me if I'm wrong). So I was wondering wich phone should I buy. First of all please state the differences (if any). Then about the kernels and rom stuff, can I treat an Inspire as a Desire HD? I mean, can I load Desire HD kernels and Roms on the Inspire? And finally if not which phone should I buy? If you are familiar with any phones similar to the inspire please state the in a line under your answers! Thank you! Looking forward into joining the community and contributing to it!
They're essentially the same phone. They can use each others' ROMs and kernels.
Thank you I have got my answer from both phone's forums. Moderators may lock the post if they wish.
Hi I was wondering what is the best Rom based on android4.2.2? I'm looking for no bugs and smooth performance.

There is no such thing like a "best" rom. This is always a subjective decision. You would get 10 different answers from only 8 people . Believe nme, we had many of them in the past. And most ended in flaming between fans. That's why we don't allow these kind of threads here. Please try some of them yourself and do your own judgement.
Well, I'm looking for a phone in the 300-400 dollar range that is good for customization. I mean I don't want to have to do any ridiculous things to unlock the bootloader, and the phone should have already have a somewhat decent development (in Xda for ROMs, etc.). Basically I have a Galaxy S4 but the bootloader is locked and I don't feel like using safestrap so I just want to buy a new phone, but I want to make sure I can customize it without any locked bootloaders or flashing restrictions.
HeySwiftLeeO,
If you are looking for an easy phone to customize with the ability to get a good development community and a token to unlock the bootloader, you need to look at all the HTC phones that HTC lists as dev devices. HTC has a great forum on their dev site and they really are quite good about getting back to you if you have specific question. I have modded several HTC devices including the Vivid and the One and each time was a great experience. And if you are looking to mod the hardware as well HTC'S architecture is a real pleasure to work with and there are a ton of 3rd party Chinese manufacturers that make the mods cheaper and less expensive than trying to do similar things with Samsung or Sony where the parts are twice as expensive. I would recommend starting with either the One X or the One because they used those as dev devices and there is a ton of support with both HTC and other developers on the forums. There is also a big community on these forums for those phones and there are plenty of ROMs to choose from which always helps when you are looking for a ROM that best suits your needs.
I hope this helps you and if you have any questions feel free to ask.
Without doubt, a Nexus device

There are 3 threads devoted to discussions about devices, please repost your question in one of these three threads: The what should I buy thread or the The Device Suggestion Thread or the The Device Comparison Thread.
Thanks!
I have a HTC Droid DNA waiting for someone to tell me the most popular rom with support for this device
I like the rom to be popular because the more popular something is, the better community it is, and the least problems you'll have!
I'm posting it here because I'm kinda impatient
