CM 10 no data connection - HTC One S

Hi guys
Since a week or two I cant get data connection on my htc one S, even though its turned on. Never had this problem before and it bugs me very much! When i turn the phone on and off i succeed to get the data working but every time when I do restart the Phone turn data on and then turn it off for the first time since boot it wont connect no more when i turn it on. So its able to connect, but only ONE single time after booting Can you think of anything that might have caused this problem?
I am on cyanogenmod 10.0 and just today i got the question popped-out if I wanted to do an update to an experimental version of CM. But since I want a stable & fully working ROM i didn't do that...
Thanks in advance guys!!

I think we're having the same bug
Do the problems you're having seem to to be the same problems in this bug ?
The phone toggles between H+ and 3G, but you cannot connect to any URL, not even Google.com?

Random WiFi Drops

Hey guys.
I've recently bought my HTC Sensation (a good month ago now) and so far, its a brilliant phone.
However, there is one issue thats bugging me. The WiFi on my Sensation seems to keep dropping when the screen is turned off. The only workaround is to keep the device awake.
I've set the WiFi Sleep Mode to Never, still doesn't change it.
I don't think any of my programs are doing it. I used to have connection checker installed but I've since deleted it.
I'm sure this might be the fact that the phones from Asia, and would be running Asian Radio versions of the Radio drivers? I'm probably wrong but I would love someone to tell me what the hells going on!
Thanks in advance!
Having similar problems but with my HTC Dream. It's usually after it's on sleep mode for a while. Temporary fix: Uncheck wifi then turn it back on again... I'm too trying to look for a permanent fix. It's starting to get very irritating.
When your screen is off for a while, do you still receive emails/updates etc?

If you're talking to me... then no i don't receive emails.. Although it seems that the problem stopped after I switched the ROM from cyanogen to SuperE!
To the one with the sensation...is the phone on its back with the screen off? I put my phone down quick to do something and watched my wifi go away completely...its blocking the signal on its back.try putting it face down and see if that helps

Also make sure that best WiFi performance is checked, and set the sleep policy to never in settings/wireless/advanced. It will eat more battery, but it should help a little if this isn't already done.

[Q] wifi always turned off automatically and have to on it for the second time

Hi everyone,
I am currently using a rom which i like very much. However, there is a problem about the wifi.
Everytime when i turn on the wifi, it will be turned off after a few seconds, automatically. I have to turn it on again. The second time always have no problem in turning it on.
Does anyone know why? My wifi works in other roms without such problem. the problem only exists in this paticular rom. Really wants to find out why instead of switching to another. thanks.

Change Kernel!
On some roms I have to use a WiFi keep alive app but that is more of a sleep issue.

WIFI stuck at "scanning for WIFI networks.."

Hi there,
I have a little problem with my HTC OneS after installing CM.
Everything works fine, but when I'm connected to my home WIFI and I'm leaving my house (or the WIFI idle time is over)
and I come back (or wake up the phone) it stucks with this message in WIFI settings, mobile data works well.
To solve this I have to restart my phone and then it works without any trouble, as long as I'm don't leaving my house.
All other WIFI work without any problem. The curious thing is, with stock ROM (and all notebooks and other mobile phones) it works well.

When it happens, try to turn standby on and off again: at this point wifi connects. Works for me!
A kind of solution

That doesn't work for me. But I have a solution (not the best...) I have to let on the WIFI all the time, than it works, but that's not the best solution, maybe someone knows a better one.

[Q] Nexus 5 WiFi issue

Hello everyone.
So, the wifi problem on my N5 goes back some time ago; it happened for the first time about 2 weeks after i got it, middle november i'd say:
i always keep my wifi connected while at home and sometimes it just refuses to send data anymore. The signal bar doesn't drop, but the data just stops working. I don't remember what i did the first time it happened, but it just started working as intented after a few days.(I was on 4.4.4 back then).
Now I'm on 5.0.1 and it had been working right for some time, until 2 days ago i unplugged my router then plugged it back it. Later that day I noticed the issue is back. I have absolutely no idea what to do about it and it is irritating as hell.
Did any of you guys experience this before? If so, how did you fix it?
Also, is it possible that this is a driver issue on the phone side? All my other devices work just fine on wireless.
Thanks!

you may also try forgetting your network and re-logging back in. also check the wifi frequency band and of course rebooting your router can’t hurt.

I tried all that but with no success. I think the router might be the issue since it does have some glitches where it loses connectivity and it fixes after a reboot. I'll try with another router and report after.

I have done a full factory reset on my phone due to this issue, and it still happens. It doesn't just happen at home either, it happens everywhere I go. I am assuming at this point that it is a bug in 5.0/5.0.1 and hopefully it will be fixed in 5.0.2 (if the N5 ever see's this update).
If anyone has had any luck with this bug, please let me know.
I'm having the same issues. I'm now on my 4th router in as many months and I can't figure this out after testing just about every possible configuration of channels, frequencies and settings. We have about 10 devices connected in my home and the Nexus 5 is the only device with this problem. I'm at the point now that I just use LTE at home.
Yeah it's a 5.0.1 issue, if you've found your way to XDA you should try a custom ROM. Most are branched from the aosp 5.0.2 commits.

Did Lollipop rid the wifi options of "wifi optimization" and "avoid poor connections?" I used to keep those options unchecked for a more stable wifi connection.

But I had this same problem on 4.4.4 for a little while, that's why I was inclined to think it was something to do with my router.
Ahhh okay, yeah it very well could be.
I just had to replace my logic board due to faulty wifi, I got the always 'WiFi turning on' bug.

That setting checkbox was missing in advanced wifi settings since 5.0 (and the option was forced to "on")
According to this post this has been fixed in 5.0.2:

[Q] Data once lost wont re-connect

i am currently using Resurrection Remix 5.0.2 but was using cm12 nightlys before. The problem is that
the data connection is good but once i loose the connection there is an exclamation mark next to the
signal bar so i presume thats the data lost. It then wont connect again untill i reboot the phone.I have tried
switching on and off data but still no joy..This never happened on kitkat. I thought the problem was CM
related hence why i tried the RR rom but exactly the same is happening. Someone sugested that it could be
the sim card but im not so sure as it works fine before lollipop.I surely can't be the only one experiencing
this? but by the same token i can't find any info on it either ..maybe says something!!
Hope someone can help as i want to stay on lollipop i do like it, maybe the official release will sort it out.
Thank you

It's a ROM issue (radio.img). I was facing same problem on earlier builds of BlissPop ROM, but not no issues..
If you are getting exclamation mark in 2 or more ROMs, then there is problem with your sim-card or the network operator.
I suggest you to contact your concerned network operator and take his help for the same. (If you are facing same issue on 2 or more ROMs, try out Stock ROM CM11s)
Thank you for your reply, so would it be possible to flash a modem from kitkat or would there be compatibility issues with that?

did you check your network type and apn settings
So here is the latest update. I replaced the sim card on Saturday, the problem is is still there. I checked me APN settings they are three UK so that's ok. I've tried cm12,resurrection, blispop and now I'm on sabermod. I'm thinking this oneplus doesn't like lollipop, looks like I will have to revert to kitkat for just now until the official release comes out but I can't see that fixing the problem either as I don't seem to see anyone else with this problem.
Thank you for your help folks

I'm also with Three and have lost my data connection. They replaced the sim on Tuesday and I'm sure it worked until the old number swapped to the new sim. I have a 321 simcard on order and I'll try that once it arrives. My phone is still running Kitkat.
I had no problems with kitkat, if it lost the connection it automatically connected again when I was back in an area with a signal. But this has got me beat, a new sim card and too many roms to count but still the same problem. I am a lorry driver and cover the whole of Scotland and signal is patchy at best and it's annoying to find out later on in the day that data was off and you didn't receive any messages or emails.. Some of them important..

I have exactly the same problem.
I'm from Spain.
I've discovered that if i set network type to LTE it seems to work right.
Today I've moved from blisspop to temasek.
The 3g reconnect doesn't work, as always.
I turn data and wifi off when I sleep so tomorrow I will confirm if LTE works also with temasek.
my connection has always been set on LTE but never makes any difference
At the weekend I installed the official OxygenOs, I have been driving all day and had to reboot the phone 4 times because of this problem, I did half wish that when an official release came it would maybe sort out the problem but no joy. So I can only think it's to do with the oneplus. I'm at a loss now and seriously don't want to go back to kitkat but it looks like this will be the only solution to the problem..

I've tested this night again and if I set network to LTE.
The test I've done is.
- Turn off data and wifi before to sleep.
- Turn off only data when I woke up.
The connection was successful almost inmediately.
Greetings. I ran into similar issue with the CM12s update.
Once I lose the mobile signal for whatever reason, the data connection is not restored. Only way to regain it, is by restarting the phone (haven't tested airplane mode). Sometimes even if I leave WiFi on for long time (overnight), I will not have data connection after turning off the WiFi. I use HSPA connection only, not LTE.
I can not recall having this issue on KitKat. Issue was on the first CM12s update and remains on the second one, both were installed clean, so clean install of the ROM will not fix it. I am not using any custom ROMs or kernels, only TWRP recovery.
Has anyone had such issue and maybe found a solution to this?

Did you ever get this sorted? I've been having this issue, luckily I always have Wi-Fi at home/uni but there are times when it just won't find a Data connection. This happened right after the CM12 update :/

Well decided to a bit of searching, if you go into Settings -> Mobile Network Settings -> Network Operators and manually choose the network rather than the Auto Search option, it seems to have worked for me for the time being.
I am on the same boat as OP. The problems started after updating to Lollipop.
If anyone has found a solution, please let me know. I read about someone installing a 44S modem, but I'm unsure if this will permanently change system files (I wouldn't want it to) and I'm therefore hesitant.
