WIFI stuck at "scanning for WIFI networks.." - HTC One S

Hi there,
I have a little problem with my HTC OneS after installing CM.
Everything works fine, but when I'm connected to my home WIFI and I'm leaving my house (or the WIFI idle time is over)
and I come back (or wake up the phone) it stucks with this message in WIFI settings, mobile data works well.
To solve this I have to restart my phone and then it works without any trouble, as long as I'm don't leaving my house.
All other WIFI work without any problem. The curious thing is, with stock ROM (and all notebooks and other mobile phones) it works well.

When it happens, try to turn standby on and off again: at this point wifi connects. Works for me!

A kind of solution

That doesn't work for me. But I have a solution (not the best...) I have to let on the WIFI all the time, than it works, but that's not the best solution, maybe someone knows a better one.

Lol, that's what I suggested, but it didn't work for him. By the way, are you on ICS (like me) or the bug is still there with JB?

Wifi issue

Sorry if this has already been covered in another forum.
My wifi on the samsung mesmerize is not working properly, 3G works just fine. I try and go online from my wifi connection it says server problem, if I go to my wifi settings it says it's connected. Help would be much appreciated, I have a very fast internet and would like to take advantage of it, especially considering my psu just blew on the pc! I have pulled 10 mbs on this phone using wifi before. Haven't installed a new app that would prevent anything with the wifi that I'm aware of, just wiped my phone the other day, saturday actually. Again any help would be great.

We're going to need to know what you're currently running.
As far as I know, no one is having issues with Wi-fi on either 2.1 or 2.2
My wifi sometimes won't turn on and I have to reboot to fix it, try that?

Yea if that don't fix it try pulling the battery.
Although since the phone is telling you i'ts connected I'm now thinking this is probably app related...(which a reinstall or reflash may correct)
I also have wifi issues with my fascinate, running froyo. I turn wifi on, and it works until the phone sleeps. Then at some point (seem to be a different amount of time each time) I lose my connection to the net. It still says the wifi is connected (wifi symbol at the top). But if I attempt to use google talk, or pull up a web page I do not have access to the internet. If i turn wifi off, and then right back on, all is well (until the next time it sleeps).
There is an app called wifi keep alive. If i check all the options on that app it helps. I see the issue far less often, but it still happens, and using this app my battery life suffers a little.

Sticky WIFI

HI
Got my One S yesterday and might i just say i think its the bees knees so to speak.
So far everything seems fine and no noticed any of the issues mentioned here.
The first thing i have noticed today however is this:
I had the phone connected to my home's wifi which was great, however when i got to work this morning it thought it was still connected to such WIFI eventhough i was miles from home. i had to turn wifi off and on to fix it.
Anyone else noticed this, or have an idea of how to fix?
Cheers
It is a known bug
I also found myself traveling miles from home with no WIFI in the horizon with my home network still connected, blocking the phone from switching to mobile data.
We will probably need to wait for a firmware update.

Not reckon a factory reset will do the trick?
Haven't tried yet

but a short term solution is disable->enable the wifi totally.

on top of that, I do get once in a while error when trying to enable WIFI.
no detailed data but just "Error" instead of the regular on/off.
Have seen the same problem too, sometimes the device gets stuck thinking it is connected to Wifi when in fact it is many miles from the network it claims to be connected to.
I have seen the problem the other way around... when having been outside of the range of my wifi-router the HOS won't connect back to it when coming home... the only thing to do is to shut off wifi on the phone..
that exactly what i added before

I have mentioned that trying to re-enable WIFI results in an error instead of either on or off in its settings. Indeed only phone restart helps.

I didn't get any errors... I just disabled wifi and turned it back on again... no need to reboot the phone...

the error I mentioned is not always and usually I can disable/enable w/o any issue.
But, it did happened more than once.
to me it doesn't happen
After some more testing I have come to this conclusion:
If I put the wifi in high power mode it connects immedietly to my trusty DIR-655 after having slept for some time. If I put it in low power mode it is trying to connect but doesn't do squat.
From there I just have to momentarily disable and enable wifi in order for it to happily reconnect again. Yay for the wifi widget...
And yes, I want the phone to shut down wifi when in standby mode. NOT always on.

Connected to wifi but no internet acsess.

I am currently using CM7. I was previously using leedroid. One night my internet suddenly stopped working. I was conected but i couldnt use it. So i switched roms thinking that was the problem but no change. The wifi works fine on my moms laptop and my dads iphone, but not on my inspire. If i disconnect from wifi, then reconnect it will work for a couple of minnutes then suddenly stop working. Any ideas on what is wrong? It has been doing this for days and its really annoying. Thanks
(Sorry if this is a duplicate topic i had to type this fast before the internet stopee working, and didnt have time to look)

Just curious. Even though other devices can sign on to router, have you tried resetting it. Sometimes they have an ip conflict and resetting refreshes the ip tables.
Yeah I would try resetting the router if you haven't already. I know I have had some connection issues before and it was caused by the router. My computer would work just fine, but my phone wouldn't connect.
It worked. Thanks soo much. I should have tried that in the first place.

The router is probably bad. I sell them at work and they go bad quite often.

I agree, they often fail. I use only linksys routers now and I still have to reset it every now and then.
Its not just at home.. its where ever i try to connect to wifi i realized recently. It is also a very new router
I'm having the same problem with mine. I'm running ARHD 6.3.3 never had the problem with Cyanogen. Is there anything I can do about the wicked not really connecting? I'm running Juice Defender, but I've been having this problem before I installed it.

I had same problem with cm7. Heres what I did - phone- wifi serttings, go to your router connection and press forget. Then I restarted phone, PC, router. Back to phone, wifi settings and re-entered router code, extra. Sounds odd but it worked for me

That happens a lot to me, too. I do believe it's the phone. My room is across the house from the WiFi modem, and my sister's is even further. Her phone catches the signal when mine doesn't. I would like to know the solution, too, if there is one.

Still not working. An app maybe?
I have tried everything.. nothing is working. Its not just at home its everywhere i go. Only thing i could think that would cause this is an app maybe? Is there an app that is known to stop the wifi from working? It has to be something like that. If its not i guess my phone just randomly broke.
So, I had this issue too. I bought and installed an new digitizer (again :/ ) but the tape/adhesive didn't get to me until 3 days after the digitizer. By time I got the tape/adhesive (I temporarily used electric tape on the 4 corners til then) I had gotten a ROM up and running. I took apart the phone, to put the tape/adhesive on the LCD (it was a replaced also) and on the digi. When I put the phone back together, the wifi would work, but no internet. I tried it with 3 different routers and the only fix was to reflash the ROM/a new ROM. This was like 3 days ago. Today I wanted to fiddle with the volume rocker to try and get my volume up working again.... well the same thing happened when I put the phone back together and booted up, wifi connects, but no internet, reflashing the ROM/a new ROM, fixed it. I think there's like something with the phone that 'detects' when it's taken apart, and like does something to the ROM. My Tapatalk accounts got logged out also. I did, both times, also try wiping caches to no avail. Also tried turning wifi off, forgetting the network, and then restarting.... to no avail. The ONLY fix for the wifi each time was to reflash the ROM Maybe someone else could try to recreate this, see if it's only me or not.
I finally found out how to fix it. It turns out I had wifi settings backed up from a diferent rom in titanium backup for some reason. I reverted back to my stock back up, cleared all my titanium backup stuff out, then re-flashed my rom. So thank you guys for all the help. Hope this helps you guys fix you problems.

[Q] wifi always turned off automatically and have to on it for the second time

Hi everyone,
I am currently using a rom which i like very much. However, there is a problem about the wifi.
Everytime when i turn on the wifi, it will be turned off after a few seconds, automatically. I have to turn it on again. The second time always have no problem in turning it on.
Does anyone know why? My wifi works in other roms without such problem. the problem only exists in this paticular rom. Really wants to find out why instead of switching to another. thanks.

Change Kernel!
On some roms I have to use a WiFi keep alive app but that is more of a sleep issue.

Internet connecting supposedly 'down'

Hi, I seem to have this problem with my phone, where it says that I don't have any Internet connection. I know that it does have connection (my laptop is connected to the same wifi / it doesn't work on mobile data either) , it just seems to think that it doesn't, until I restart the phone / wait a while.
Has anyone else had this problem? / is there a way to resolve it?
Thanks in advance
Anyone?

I have heard of others experiencing this before. It is a bug being addressed in 4.4.3. My phone does not have this problem, I'd suggest trying a factory reset and see if that helps.

If you use 2 fingers to swipe down, are the network and wifi bars orange?
That's the problem that I'm having when connecting and disconnecting with WIFI. A short switch to airplane mode and turning that off again mostly helps it.
The wifi bar / reception are always white, and switching to aeroplane mode doesn't make a difference.
I don't really want to try factory restoring it either, just in case it doesn't work, then I've got restore all my data again

I have a similar issue on my Gnex running cm11. Aggravating to say the least...
