[Q]Accessibility & Voice I/O options are missing from stock 2.3.5! - General Questions and Answers

I'm using sprd Symphony Xplorer W15. But problem is, there are no options name Accessibility & Voice I/O in Settings menu. This two options are still missing from stock. Now my question is, is it possible to get the two options in Settings menu anyway? My Stock is 2.3.5 (Gingerbread). Must inform if anyone know about it. Thanks.

Says this
Build number: ALPS.ICS2.MP.V1.18
Custom build version: 9920.2013.07.02
I've reason to believe this phone is running 4.0, as I've read the 4.1.1 is actually faked

Check keypad
I recently faced trouble finding the call settings option on my Android 4.0.4 for my need to divert my calls to another number. I my shock it isn't already present in the system settings menu. After hours of searching here and there it was under or hidden under keypad.
1. Bring up your stock android phone keypad dialer
2. Tap Menu
3. Voila! There is the call setting option.
Android, in process of creating more easily accessible options is in turn making it difficult to find the same and hence the paradox.
Hope, the solution helps to those in need. :good:
Hi
I've been in call settings, which is why I know I'm missing call alert from the list of options on that menu.

CM 11 = CyanogenMod..
CyanogenMod (pronounced /saɪ.'æn.oʊ.dʒɛn.mɒd/) is an enhanced open source firmware distribution for smartphones and tablet computers based on the Android mobile operating system. It offers features and options not found in the official firmware distributed by vendors of these devices.
Features supported by CyanogenMod include native theming support, FLAC audio codec support, a large Access Point Name list, an OpenVPN client, an enhanced reboot menu, support for Wi-Fi, Bluetooth, and USB tethering, CPU overclocking and other performance enhancements, soft buttons and other "tablet tweaks", toggles in the notification pull-down (such as wi-fi, Bluetooth and GPS), app permissions management, as well as other interface enhancements. CyanogenMod does not contain spyware or bloatware. In many cases, CyanogenMod may increase performance and reliability compared with official firmware releases.
CyanogenMod is developed as free and open source software based on the official releases of Android by Google, with added original and third-party code.

You should better read/ask in your phone's section.
Here is a short preview of the "advanced" android world :
- In order to backup your phone data you need a recovery.
- The most known recoveries are CWM and TWRP (in most phones you get into recovery pressing power and volume buttons while the phone is off).
- From the recoveries you can install a new ROM (firmware) to your phone, make a backup/restore or flash zip files (that run commands and move files)
- Cyanogenmod / Cm is a famous ROM with different versions for many phones. Cm11 is the Cyanogenmod kitkat version (10 jellybean, 9 icecream etc)
I hope you got the main idea
Sorry I am not getting the backup and restore option in my cwm as it shows in the videos

[Completed] [Q] How to flash TY_Q8H generic chinese tablet

Hello,
To start with, I'm new to Android. I work in IT and have always been a windows/linux desktop user with combination of Windows phone/maemo/IoS for mobiles.
Basically my Nannu has handed me a tablet he picked up cheap and wants me to set it up. All seems to be running ok, set up a gmail account, checked wifi/camera etc are working. Then noticed that when launching the browser it defaults to google.com.hk. If I change the homepage in the browsers settings it reverts everytime I exit the app and relaunch.
Also little problems such as signing into skype fails, despite correct credentials and if i select the "trouble signing in" option I'm taking to a chinese version of skype website.
I've reset to factory defaults but this doesn't make a difference.
So I'm looking to flash the device with a ROM as suspect one currently loaded is custom Chinese ROM.
I've rooted the device and was looking at Shuame to flash it but unfortunately my Chinese is a little rusty/non-existent.
I thought maybe I could remove the default browser using Kinguser but it won't allow me to remove as its a system component.
There is no model info on the exterior of the tablet. Here is from the "about tablet" section in settings:
Processor: DualCore -A23
Model Number: TY_Q8H
Android Version: 4.2.2
Firmware Version: v2.0.8
Kernel Version: 3.4.9 [email protected] #365
Build Number: TY_POLARIS_ENG 4.2.2 JDQ39 20140528 test-keys
If anyone can advise or point me in the right direction for where I can find a ROM and a good tool to use to apply this I would appreciate it.
Thanks in advance!
Hi,
I couldn't find anything relevant on your device on XDA. You can ask here for help and perhaps someone knows of something.

Good luck!
