Says this
Build number: ALPS.ICS2.MP.V1.18
Custom build version: 9920.2013.07.02
I've reason to believe this phone is running 4.0, as I've read the 4.1.1 is actually faked

Check keypad
I recently faced trouble finding the call settings option on my Android 4.0.4 for my need to divert my calls to another number. I my shock it isn't already present in the system settings menu. After hours of searching here and there it was under or hidden under keypad.
1. Bring up your stock android phone keypad dialer
2. Tap Menu
3. Voila! There is the call setting option.
Android, in process of creating more easily accessible options is in turn making it difficult to find the same and hence the paradox.
Hope, the solution helps to those in need. :good:

Hi
I've been in call settings, which is why I know I'm missing call alert from the list of options on that menu.

Yes, you're right. Multiuser support is what you're talking about, and it is available from android version 4.2.2 and above. It is enabled on tablets by default. For phones, you would need to flash custom ROMs that have multiuser support. If you're not on 4.2.2+, then you could try the SwitchMe app on the Playstore instead (requires root).

Since I do not know much about your device, you should probably ask this question here:
http://forum.xda-developers.com/forumdisplay.php?f=2100
You're bound to get a better answer that way!
P.S. When you ask in that forum, avoid using words like 'best rom' or 'stable rom'.

[Q] Samsung S6 firmware?

Hi Everyone
Please bare with me as this is my first post on the site as it was recommended to me. Also bare with me even more as I don't know much about Android firmware.
Ill try to give you guys as much information as possible, I purchased a Samsung S6, or what I believed to be an S6. Im not so sure!
Its showing as running Android 5.0 but it seems to be lacking functions that makes me believe its not a legit phone. Could I try and put a different version of android on it to see if it will run? As I have lost lots of money
Heres what it says in the about settings to help you decide if I can do anything..
Android Version 5.0
Model Number SM-G920F
Baseband Version G920FXXU1AOBN
Kernel Version 3.10.54 [email protected] #1
Build Number LRX22G.G920FXXU1AOBN
Custom Built Version SEPG_SM_G920F_5.0.2_0008
Hope this makes sense to you guys
Is there anything I can do to salvage the phone?
Thanks very much
Ryan

Hi There,
First of all, many thanks for your reply
Its just little things that make me think its not genuine, eg when I go to Settings > user manual it takes me to a Chinese webpage under downloadcenter.samsung.com
Also I tried to do wireless update, it downloads the file but then says package unzipping, do not interrupt then goes onto say Warning your system was damaged, wireless update is disabled.
The serial number under settings cannot be true! haha
I also downloaded a pdf file and it wont open, just says cannot open file.
The default search engine is yahoo on browser?
Hope this helps any ideas
Thanks
What I would do is contact Samsung and ask about it. If you were to find the IMEI, Samsung could tell you everything about the device just by using that (I believe)

you can try that, but i am not so sure about it, because it may damage your phone....you can try this at your own risk...
You can pop the IMEI into this free checker, it'll tell you all about it, feel free to post the output but NOT your IMEI here if you want a second opinion. https://swappa.com/esn
You can get the IMEI by dialing *#06# on the dialer
It's saying there's no such imei
I also just downloaded an identifier on the playstore. Comparing to the real s6 it appears to be fake
CPU type mediatek mt6592 x8 1.3ghz

Do I have Lemon or Marshmallow? Device says 6.0.1

I'm confused. In About Phone my device says it's 6.0.1. Google tells me this is marshmallow but if I check it with an app such as CPU-Z it says my device is Lemon. Whats going on here?
I try to follow videos about features of 6.0.1 marshmallow and my device doesn't seem to have those features. Which one do I have and why is this not straight forward?
Edit: The phone manufacturer does claim it's 6.0.1 Marshmallow https://www.zteusa.com/jasperlte - So why don't I have Marshmallow features?
Could I have an illegal black market version of the phone?
Thank you.

I'd be happy to but I have no idea how. Edit: I'll work on it and get back to ya asap.
I managed to get in in Google Photos. Here is a link to the file. I have no idea if this is the right way to get the info to show here. I've never used this feature.
(Old links removed by OP)
Edit: I just checked this with another browser not signed to google. It appears you guys cannot see these files.. I'll have to figure out another way to post them.
Try This: https://ibb.co/efk0N5 - About Phone
https://ibb.co/cBVd9k - CPU-Z
So, which is it.. Lemon, Lollipop or Marshmallow - and why?

You've marshmallow sir, go to CPU-Z and tap system info. You'll see your android version. Btw, board shows lemon doesn't mean you've got lollipop.

O.k.. I have Marshmallow - then why don't I have the same Marshmallow functionality I see on 6.01 feature videos? For instance, I cannot hold down my system icon to access a system ui tweak settings page. It and other 6.0.1 features simply don't exist in my device - why? Shouldn't all stock Marshmallow 6.0.1 operating systems be identical?
I can see perhaps an exception if my device was missing a specific hardware required to make the application work but that's not the case with something as simple as UI tweak settings. I feel like i'm cheated out of functionality you know.

Eh, most of the OEMs modify the stock android. That's where yours, guess.

Thank you for your time and answers. If I could find a way to root the phone, i'd try to flash a version that gives me back all the stuff the OEM cut out. It's sad they work this way. I can get a copy of any Windows operating system and I'll always know it has full functionality no matter who installs it. Android should be the same way or don't claim it's really Marshmallow if it's a scaled down version. Not fair.
Again, My Thanks, sachin.
