How to fix boot error without kies? - Galaxy Tab 2 Q&A, Help & Troubleshooting

Hi, while trying to install a new bootloader the cable was pulled from the laptop now my Galaxy Tab 2 5110 10.1 is showing the error -
Please select recovery mode in kies & try again.
Sadly I didn't register the device in kies so it wont let me recovery it or even connect. Is there any way to fix this?

Samsung was a lie, it's a false warning. Just use Odin to reflash.

SORRY FOR MY BAD ENGLISH
Please uninstall KIES, keep the driver (or downlaod drivers from here: http://downloads.k0k0.de/redirect.php?r=fr_SamsungUSBDriver ).
Reboot your PC.
Now run Odin as Administrator and connect your tab (download-mode is running in background at this screen).
Now flash your StockRom.
but my device not visible on odin?
what should i do?
i'm using odin v 3.07

[Q] FIrmware upgrade encountered an issue

Hi All,
I'm hoping someone can help me with my non-rooted Samsung Galaxy Tab 2 10.1 Tablet (GT-P110). The tablet won't go into download or recovery mode, and it's saying "Firmware Upgrade encountered an Issue. Please select recovery mode in KIES and try again". I've tried using Kies, but it's not recognising the device.
I've downloaded Odin 3.09 and a stock ROM from Samsung Updates. When I go to flash the ROM via ODIN it fails at around the 60-70% mark. I've tried a different stock ROM, but the same thing happens.
Is there anything else I could try?
Many Thanks...

Try a different cable if possible, different pc/laptop and go to samsung website and download drivers for your tablet model. Sometimes Kies doesn't do a good job with drivers.
Try rebooting tablet and connecting it right away to pc/laptop.
Good luck.

I have tried a different cable, laptop and downloaded the drivers from the Samsung website, but I was still stuck with the same problem. I tried using Odin 3.07 and this got me further than before. It went through the flash process and I then got the blue reset message. The problem is that the tablet doesn't reset and just goes to a black screen. When I try to manually reset the tablet it comes back with the same message "Firmware Upgrade encountered an Issue. Please select recovery mode in KIES and try again"
Has anyone got any other suggestions I could try?
Many Thanks...
I've had the exact same issue before and in my case simply removing the external sd card before flashing with Odin solved the problem.

I never thought of that because I keep a nandroid copy on my external SD, so I always pull it from my phone or tablet when flashing /reset just to be safe. Doesn't everyone do that?

Kies stuck when trying to install OTA

Hi folks,
i have a new 10.1/N8031 with 4.1.2
So i just installed Kies on my PC and for fun i connected my Note. Recognized my Note, telling me there is a minor update of my 4.1.2. Accepted the download, after that my Note changes into Download mode and there it stays. Kies stays in 0.00% and nothing goes on. Some ideas?

I do not really use kies but there is a Recovery option in Maybe under advanced. I do not have it installed on my Computer right now to look as it messes with the Drivers for Nexus 7 tablet.
It could be anything from bad download bad cable Or your firmware was modified before. You may try to reflash it or download a image and flash with odin ...
Search this forum for stuck in download mode.
Yes it was a USB port problem.

[Completed] [Soft Bricked] Samsung Galaxy Trend GT-s7392

Hello!
My friend got his samsung galaxy trend bricked.
However stock recovery plus Odin download mode is still accessible. I already tried wipe data/factory reset but nothing helped.
I tried the Odin process but my device doesnt get listed in Odin whenever I connect. A message pops up in the windows task panel saying "Unrecognized device". Though samsung drivers are already installed.
Please help me out.
Edit :
Got it! I was using older version of Odin. Updated it to the latest and it worked. Also I was using older version of Samsung drivers so I had to install its latest version too.

[Completed] Need help with Samsung Galaxy S4, Model: (SM-S975L)

I'm not sure if my phone is soft bricked or hard bricked. My phone was having some kind of firmware issues so like an idiot and not backing anything up, I tried to flash a stock firmware on my phone with odin and it failed. My phone is not rooted or anything it is complete stock and now when I try to boot up the phone I'm not sure if it goes into recovery automatically or what but when I turn it on it goes to this screen saying "Firmware upgrade encountered an issue. Please select recovery mode in Kies & try again.". If this is not recovery mode then I can only go in download mode I have tried going into recovery mode. I've tried odin several times, using different usb cables and different usb ports on my computer and still nothing, I have used Samsung Kies and Kies 3 they both fail and then tell me that I need to do emergency recovery from another computer with a code but it is just blank when it comes up it does not give me any codes. I've even went to Tools > Emergency firmware recovery and still shows no codes or anything it is still blank.
Suggestions?
I fixed it, for anyone who may have the similar problem this will help you: https://forum.xda-developers.com/galaxy-s4/general/guide-sm-s975l-twrp-4-4-2-custom-roms-t3009757
For me, all I needed to do was flash twrp recovery and my phone started working again so I decided not to mess with anything else
