You attempted to root using Odin when your already on a JellyBean ROM?? The Blaze doesn't have Official JB.. We have rooted JB ROMS like Cyanogenmod..

If you can get to download mode, you're fine. There's a thread in general on how to get our phone back to stock. Look through general and you'll find it!

What if I can't get to download mode? When I attempt to get there the phone just buzzes every couple seconds, but never goes into download mode. When I release, it goes to the battery charging icon. When I try to get to recovery mode, it vibrates and goes back to the Galaxy S splash screen and hangs. Thanks.

If the screen is showing anything it should be able to get into download mode, but it can sometimes be difficult to get it to do it.
Here is a post that helped me and others to get into download mode.

Keep in mind, to get into download mode, you must have the phone disconnected from the computer! If it shows the charging battery icon, then your phone is plugged in. Unplug it and try again.

It could be that it's late and not thinking clearly but... I downloaded the "Stock Tar" and the problem I'm running into is that Odin won't recognize it because it's a 7z file. Could I get suggestions as to how to proceed?

Did you get answer on how to fix this. Currently cant get ODIN to recognize the 7-zip extension so I can add it to the PDA field & get my Blaze back to stock. Thanks.

7z is a compression format. The files you want are in the compressed 7z file. Extract it using 7zip or WinRAR or any number of tools. Then ¡voila! you have what you need

Give us more info. What are you flashing from (FROYO or GB)? Why KG4 kernel? Are you trying to change your modem?
This.. charge your phone to full then try and enter dl mode if its not letting you in you may need a USB jig if your on a Samsung device. I'm only assuming because Odin usually uses Samsung stuff from my experience.. otherwise need a lot more info

i was following the steps from this http://forum.xda-developers.com/showthread.php?t=1215748. I was on stock 2.2.1 and i was trying to flash cm hybrid gb. i was also using odin.
Will your ROM load?
i loaded the md5 on pda then i started it but it got stuck and my phone powered off, that's it.
So you have a galaxy s4g? Can you get into recovery with a full battery?
Sent from my SPH-D710 using XDA App
yup i have a gs4g but when i try to enter recovery the same message appears firmware upgrade fail
Will you ROM load?
nope it won't load
Even though you can't get into recovery... plug your phone in and see if ODIN recognizes it.
You should try starting ODIN again obviously with your phone plugged in. See what happens.

If you are able to get Odin to recognize your phone, i would redo the whole thing again, maybe it was just a bad flash.
If it happens again, try re-downloading the kernel, and redoing it again.
What step were you on in the guide? IF you flashing the kernel should be step 11. Sounds like your phone ran out of battery. If you plug it into the wall charger does it charge?
i was in step 11 and my phone was 80% charged before i entered download mode. When I plug in charger the same screen pops up and odin doesn't recognize it now.
are you entering DL by the battery pull method? Odin should see it that way. I've had to try a lot of times in the past to get odin to recognize the phone but it always does.
yup the battery pull method, i've tried like 6 times but no luck
plug into a different usb port on the computer. close odin reopen it and try six more times.

[Q] How do I get into recovery without kies?

Emergency I tried to download the ics leak followed all the right procedures and for some odd reason the system was not upgrading so I thought something was wrong so I unplugged the skyrocket and up came the screen saying use kies to recovery mode. Kies is not recognizing my device so now I am stuck I don't know what to do and I need my phone to breathe again ASAP. HELP PLEASE!!! I either need to put it back to stock or something idk all I know is that there has to be a way
You should probably be able to use Odin to flash CWM again
If you already have it, just hold down up and down volume as you turn on your phone. Release when the first Samsung screen appears, and you should be good to go

Doesn't my phone have to be at the download screen with the android picture in order to do that? My screen currently says as follows: firmware upgrade encountered an issue. Please select recover mode in Kies & try again. that's the screen that I cannot get out of.
Will my phone be able to restore from the screen that I'm currently in?

Confirmed. Odin will detect and communicate with your device when the "Use Kies to recover (or whatever it is)" screen is displayed.

When it says downloading do no remove target. You should probably not remove the target for future reference
The ics leak does take a long time to flash

Phone bricked- Stuck in Download mode

Hey everyone
I went to return my skyrocket to stock 2.3.5 using the sticky'd thread in the development section. It has, in fact, bricked my phone and im stuck with the "Firmware upgrade encountered and issue connect to kies blah blah blah".
I first tried using the Konane one and it got stuck on boot.img. After that is when it bricked in download mode. I downloaded the home sghi727 md5 stock odin file and now that is getting stuck on the boot.img.
Any suggestions will definitely be heard
:fingers-crossed:
Try the 2.3.5 tar from sammobile

Ive been trying over and over but odin is stuck just after connecting at boot.img and it doesnt go anywhere from there. Its been under a year since ive had the phone. I was on the UCLE2 Sky ICS and I was experiencing problems.
You guys think I might need to go to ATT and get a replacement? It still says everything is stock. It doesnt look like the flash counter has tripped.
Thanks
Step 1, If you haven't done so, do MD5 verification of the file you downloaded.
Step 3, Next, reboot your computer. I had the exact same problems and my USB ports stopped playing nice with my phone. After a reboot, everything went well. I also have a feeling something in the Kies update messes up the connection and leaves something hanging. Don't touch kies until you get out of download mode.
Step 3, click on the Thanks button.

Haha wish I could.
Ive restarted several times already but I went ahead and did it again. Odin gets to the boot.img and again just hangs there. Odin recognizes the phone thats not the problem just something to do with the phone and it wanting to be flashed through odin. I also verified the md5 with no surprises.(its off of sammobile)
Im using both the 1.85 Konane Odin and the general Android + SLP Odin achieving the same boot.img hang up. Im going to try and reboot again,
This happend to me, held the power button and restarted phone.
Then Odin properly recognized my phone

I was FINALLY ABLE TO GET IT TO GO!!!!
It was a combination of restarting my phone while in odin and going into kies and reinstalling the device drivers several times. Thanks for everyone's input.:good::good::good:
ON A SIDE NOTE:
I don't think the sticky'd thread in the dev section works anymore. Someone may want to verify that it still works so people can avoid problems like this
it still works.. i just used it two days ago on mine and it got stock honeycomb installed.
only problem was afterwards, it got stuck on "touch android to begin" with some errors.

[Q] Stuck at Samsung Galaxy S3 boo screen

So i did my best to do my own research and downloaded all the files listed in [HOW-TO] Unbrick your soft bricked Galaxy S III on this forum and i haven't gotten very far. The phone will only get up to the splash screen and goes nowhere from there. I plug it in and it recognizes the phone and loads drivers and when i open ODIN 3 it detects it under the ID:COM port. But when i try and flash the "VARALEC.bootchain.tar.MD5" file it goes from "file analysis " to "setup connection" then stops. Any advice or help please?
boot screen, sorry.
Judging from your post, you're not in download mode. Anytime you use Odin, your phone must be in download mode:
1) Turn your phone off completely
2) Hold Power button, Volume Down, and Home until the phone boots on and vibrates
3) Now you're in Download mode

So got past that part and got to the flashing. Flashed the bootloader first which passed then i tried to flash the unzipped Stock.vzw_root66.tar. twice so far it's given me a fail. I downloaded the torrent from scratch each time. Thoughts? Thanks for your help with that first step.

MD5 sum matches too...
first off why are you flashing a bootchain? that should only be used if your device is truly softbricked...meaning, it will not boot even after flashing back to stock with odin. also try the links in my guide(section 6). flashing the bootchain should only be a last resort because if something goes wrong during flashing, your device could hard brick.

[Q] Will only boot in Download mode

All,
Hopefully this is an easy one. I looked through the board and did not see anything I haven't similar but i can be wrong. Quick background, I rebooted the phone it looked normal on shutdown but it never came back up.. What I have tried is tremove the battery and left it for day and tried to turn on with no luck. A couple of times it showed the battery indicator but would go black screen if i tried to turn it on. I have reloaded the stock rom using ODIN still no luck. The only thing I can make it do is go to the download screen, that's it. This is a stock ATT Skyrocket no mods or anything. It seems to be a software issue but I do not know how to fix it. Any Ideas Thanks
oops!

I'm in the same boat. Root was a confirmed success after the OTA update, but now I can't get pass the download screen while booting up the phone. When I was trying to boot into recovery mode after I did a few quick restarts in a row after rooting phone, to install a debloater .zip, it came to this screen only (see screenshot), the Samsung logo comes up before this and it's all that it does now. Thinking it's a soft brick as this screen is the only thing that keeps coming up after Samsung Logo with no unlock/lock symbol, when I try to reboot the phone in various ways. I know I can't use Odin to reflash back to stock MDL after the June OTA update, as I tried with no luck came up failed like I knew it would. Plug in via usb to computer, PC doesn't recognize it, so I can't check / access anything on the phone. Pulling straws here. PLEASE HELP.......
