Paranoid to allow multi windows?!!! - Asus Transformer TF700

http://goo.gl/mag/w6VTihi
Paranoid is about to allow multi windows, I think it will be very useful with the quality of the infinity s screen. I really hope this will be as least as good as cornerstone used to be. I know bryce is developing cornerstone but it's not yet very stable.

Even if I do not think it is of much good for now (because of the relative sluggishness of the PA ecosystem so far), more diversity is always a good thing. :good:
Thanks for the heads-up.

Can Cha cha Run CM10 Jelly Bean ?

Can our HTC CHa Cha run Jelly Bean and is someone of our DEVs capable of Porting it to the phone ?
Tasadar, Let's be a bit optimistic. I am sure its a product of their time availability as well. This is a hobby after all!
I would be interested in stuff like http://forum.xda-developers.com/showthread.php?t=1815962 which promises to make it automated!
I don't think it's a matter of whether it -can- run it, as whether someone will actually port it.
So far ICS/CM9 is going very well, and runs very smoothly, and from what I've heard - JB/CM10 runs even faster in general, so would in fact be ideal for this device.
The biggest thing is porting device drivers/libraries, such as for the cameras, which even in the ICS/CM9 port only one of the two currently works.
Be patient, and I'm sure we'll see at least an attempt, if not a full JB port in the future
I can't say it will work or not, but if I have time I'll try to see how it goes after the holidays (mid September).

Yeah, right now I'm curious why I posted in the wrong thread... and in other threads as well..
I'd really like to see some work on this if anyone is willing to take it up. I'd -love- to start it myself, but to be entirely honest, I would have zero idea on where to start.
I know that CM10 is currently running on the Samsung Galaxy Gio, which is significant in that it runs the same(or nearly the same) processor as the ChaCha.
(it uses a 800MHz Qualcomm QCT MSM7227-1 Turbo, whereas the ChaCha lists 800MHz Qualcomm Snapdragon MSM7227 Turbo, both are ARMv6)
The Gio has less ram, and less storage.
So at the very least we can assume the device will at least -run- JB/CM10.
I am aware that the CM9 port isn't entirely perfect yet, and that rom porting must be very difficult, particularly with getting the internal devices working correctly(network, camera, etc)
but I have a feeling this will be well worth the effort.
I recently tried out CM10 on my Acer A500 Iconia Tablet, and WOW! the speed was at least doubled from either the stock GB rom, as well as the unofficial CM9 port.
If it can do so much for a more powerful device, imagine what it could do for our beautiful - yet underpowered - phone, the ChaCha/Status.
I would also be more than willing to put my phone on the line to help test where testing is needed.
Please, someone, take this up!

[Feature Request] Cornerstone

Hey guys,
Just wondering if any of the devs would like to implement this open source project. If anyone that doesn't know what this is, Cornerstone enables you to run apps simultaneously onscreen. This would enhance the productivity and notebook feel of our devices. I'm no dev so I am unaware if this will be easy to implement, but I hope someone will like to take on this task.

This is actually *very* old news. The ROMS that did incorporate this functionality had huge stability issues and really don't even update it anymore (at least on the ROM's I've seen). It's really DOA, in my opinion....
However, there *are* quite a few "floating" (windowed) apps available for Android that really work well. Here is a sampling of them (all available on Play Store):
- OverSkreen (Web Browser) - absolutely awesome - even supports Flash.
- AirCalc - calculator
- Stick-It - Video player
- AirTerm- Terminal emulator
- HoverNote - Simple note-taking
There are others as well - much better than Cornerstone, in my opinion.

Ok do you think we will ever see something like the split screen functions on the new samsung tabs come to our devices? And i wasn't saying its new or anything, just wondering if it's possible to implement and if it could run smoothly. Is it because it's just in beta or does the whole project not work out right.

The idea is nice, but it's difficult to implement. I ran a cornerstone enabled rom on my Xoom (EOS ICS nightlies) but no matter what I did, I had to keep going back to the non-cornerstone implementation. Probably because I prefer to use a third party launcher...the small windows kept freezing and the tab would eventually become unusable.
But I +1,000,000 on the floating apps...they add true multitasking capacity to android. Check them out.

+1 on that. I ran the EOS cornerstone builds on the TF201 for and there were always problems. The devs would always say that the problems were not of their making (i.e. there are issues with Cornerstone). I have to say that they were right since their regular builds were flawless. Cornerstone is a great idea but it is just too buggy.
Regardless, I think we are getting a little ahead of ourselves. Maybe when we actually have some non-stock roms then someone will consider making a Cornerstone build.
BTW, this should have been posted in General or Q&A
Would love to see something like Quasar on IOS (Jailbroken) for Android
My friend has it on his new iPad and it's pretty damn slick and flexible (any app can be resized and so far, they all seem to behave)

Robert
Maybe yes but i dont think developers are interested to port the os
Enviado desde mi GT-I9100 usando Tapatalk 2
why do you think that?
can any1 telll what hardware specs are required for this os.. ? if our device meets them... i would love to try and see if its possible to port it.. :good:
searching...
EDIT:
seems to be quite hard to find anything requirements related...

i also searched a bit... i got the devices running this os.. it was hp pre 2 and 3 ... and their cpu were lik snapdragon 1.4 ghz .... i guess it would be a bit difficult to get it work.. :fingers-crossed:
i am also not able to find a download link.. :silly:
well yeah the pre and the touchpad...
i mean jb and ics were not supposed to run on our devices and...well they do...
i guess you have to compile from the source:
scroll down to source
helpful? hope so...
ok guys i found out that a friend of mine is a developer of this project
webos in the current stadium cannot be installed anywhere!
it requires a linux 3.3 kernel not even the old palm devices are able to run webos
just want to add:
my laptop is running the latest ubuntu 12.04 and its kernel is...
3.2.0-29-generic <-- this is lower than the required kernel for a mobile OS ?!
this is a fail -.-
anybody knows which kernel runs on s3 or nexus?
Palm pixi has 600 armv6 processor
It might be possible

About android apps

Hi forum,
I moved from iOs to android about 7 months ago but i never had the time to explore the possibilities wich were offered. So yesterday i've decided to root my phone but the customisation was too weak so far although today i discovered the existance of cyanogen and i'm really excited about the way in wich it had completely shifted my phone so many possibilities i mean just the fact that i can change the led color of the battery is mindblowing. But yet i'me quite surprised that in a such boundless system there is no reliable or well known application to hijack all the playstore apps. Despite the fact that the iOs is much less customisable even with the jailbreak, they had their own blackmarket with installous wich was quite known at the time. So i was just wondering if you guys would know any equivalent app on android it's the only item that i still don't found on that machine. I've tried some similar apps but usually the most interesting apps doesnt work after the installation
Thanks a lot for your time and have a nice day

WANTED: TF700 with DOCK for development

Hey All,
I have been using my TF101 for many years now and am still happy. I have kept Timduru's excellent KatKiss ROMs on it exclusively. I would like to develop a tree of KatKiss (kitkat and Lollipop) with some features removed/added for the TF700.
Mainly due to the screen resolution.
To accomplish this i will need to buy a TF700 with a dock, 32gb or 64gb doesn't particularly matter.
If anyone has a fully functional one they will sell, please message me.
Thank you!
Rich

Just sent a PM
Please also consider to join the work that is already going on to Omni and the deriative Zombi ROMs. There aren't too many developers, any help would likely be welcome. Zombi has the resolution options in installer. I know KatKiss is excellent for 101, I run it too on it.
Found and Bought one!!!
Working on a Timduru KatKiss 5.1 port !!!
YAY!!
