Hey All,
I have been using my TF101 for many years now and am still happy. I have kept Timduru's excellent KatKiss ROMs on it exclusively. I would like to develop a tree of KatKiss (kitkat and Lollipop) with some features removed/added for the TF700.
Mainly due to the screen resolution.
To accomplish this i will need to buy a TF700 with a dock, 32gb or 64gb doesn't particularly matter.
If anyone has a fully functional one they will sell, please message me.
Thank you!
Rich

Just sent a PM
Please also consider to join the work that is already going on to Omni and the deriative Zombi ROMs. There aren't too many developers, any help would likely be welcome. Zombi has the resolution options in installer. I know KatKiss is excellent for 101, I run it too on it.
Found and Bought one!!!
Working on a Timduru KatKiss 5.1 port !!!
YAY!!

Hello everyone,
I'm currently thinking about buying a new tablet (I've already tried the first galaxy tab and the transformer) and I found a nice deal (in France) for the Xoom 2 Media Edition.
Would you recommend the media edition for 265$ (in fact it's 265€ but since 1$=1€ for all the manufacturers...) ? I mean I know the xoom 2 is not a big improvement upon the first version but do you think this is a good deal ?
Also it doesn't seem that the community is interested in the xoom 2. I fear that there won't be any custom rom or any other work done on this table. Am I correct ?
Thanks for your responses !
The problem is that it doesn't appear to be unlockable and rootable at this time, so no development. If you don't care about that, go for it. If you want to tinker and customize, get an original Xoom. ICS (Android 4.0.3) builds are already here! Awesome!
Hello,
A bunch of us recently purchased the Icraig Craig TV Stick CVD602 on Meh.com. These things are virtually useless out of the box. There was a great Rom flash to Uberoid with Google Play posted on this site which does make this stick somewhat useable. If someone can modify this Rom to install a fully functioning Kodi, there will be about 2,000 happy people who purchased these. This is the place to come for help, and I hope someone will. The ROM will need to be idiot proof like the Uberoid ROM install for people like me. With KODI installed and working, this stick will be great.
Thanks you on the behalf of the 2,000 of us who purchased these.
I'm glad that people are finally getting together and trying to produce some new ROMs for this device, but I feel that Shield Tab, more than any other device, needs multirom support. Some games don't work and may never work on Android 5.0 and up, and that's a real shame for a device with this sort of power, HDMI out and special controller support. I wouldn't mind running a special ROM that was fully compatable with the OUYA framework alongside a ROM running the latest version of Android for general use. That would greatly increase the flexibility of a Shield Tab.
Soooo, any devs feel me on this?

Yes.

yeah, I planned to release it last weekend, but some other things got in the way and I didn't have enough time. I'll probably release it later this week (it already works, but a few patches to multirom are required, so I want to publish all the sources first)

Hi y'all!
Just got my shield. Disappointed with performance after ota. Wipe and reset on original rom did not resolve all of the issues.
Not familiar with the xda roms for this device. I want root, functioning camera, nivida game streaming. And lag free!
Free 4 all! What is best?
Share your experiences!
Cheers!
Functionality more important than android version! (at least 4 me).
Nobody knows?
Common community where r ya?
Maybe read the appropiate threads and judge by yourself?
It's not like there's 32 Nougat roms out there anyway
Nvidia apps = stock ROM.
good luck with that one, i haven't been able to find that on any rom for the shield tablet nougat or not. Other than stock based ones like hyperstock(which is what i use on my shield tab). I updated to nougat off of hyperstock mm but restored right back when i couldn't get nethunter to work. there doesn't seem to be very much going on with the shield tablet even with the recent update to nougat which sucks.
Hey there, XDA.
So I've been puttering about with Ubuntu Touch on another device I have lately (Fairphone 2) and attempted a couple ports in the past...
(Moto X 2013, gave away to a friend, Galaxy Note 3, ran into a roadblock with partition sizes)
I got to looking at my Shield Tablet and was just thinking about how it'd be a near perfect poster-child for Ubuntu Touch for tablets. The device is still a relative power house, has great specs, native HDMI out for convergence, and even has OEM maintained device trees and kernel sources!
On paper, it's perfect.
So, I was thinking, would anyone else want to see Ubuntu Touch running on this tablet through the UBPorts project? Any dev support would be especially helpful, as Nvidia's hardware is truly a bit...unique.
Before anyone points it out: I am aware that there is a 'native' Ubuntu desktop port already, however it is awfully out of date and the developer does not seem very interested in maintaining it currently (and I don't blame him, considering how much work porting nvidia's L4T sources to the TN8 must be)
Interest from me, I can test. No good at developing though !
Yes of course! There is some interesting on having Linux in shield tablet. There's linux4tegra but it's dependent on lollipop kernel. So it would be nice having a dual boot stock nougat and Ubuntu for shield tablet thanks for the initiative.
Interest from me too. Also without dev skills, but happy to test

Well, sadly, might still be dependant on Lollipop blobs/kernel as Ubuntu Touch still relies on Lollipop device trees since it uses libhybris for device support. Most annoying thing about it.
Is it possible to request Ubuntu for an updated kernel dependency?
So, this is embarassing.

Which version of Ubuntu is this?

hah...I kinda put this idea on the backburner cuz I couldn't really get anywhere and ubports/yunit seems to be floundering currently.
Speaking of flounder (aka Nexus 9), it seems that had an [at least booting] Ubports in the past

I am very interested indeed. And I can speak for at least two more people that I know.
UBports still seems to be working on Ubuntu Touch, from what I can tell.
How about Plasma Mobile?
