I've been trying to follow guides, and I'm having a huge problem with cdma workshop, it will not recognize any phone I have. I have tried switching coms, using debugging mode, and a lot of other methods. So I got my phone information that I need from my boost donor phone which is a prevail, and now I'm to the point where it's starting to seem like an impossible task and very frustrated.
If anyone has some good ideas, let me know I've also looked at the first 20 terms for cdma not recognizing phone on google.
If you have a great method that doesn't involve cdma or know my problem and how to fix cdma so I can continue on with the flash, I'd be forever greatful.
Check your USB Cable. You can also check out the thread HERE.

so I have posted to this board a few times before but its been a while. I am currently working on a sprint q9c to get it over to verizon. flashed it already but cant get cdma workshop or qpst to see it on the port. can connect to port but when I go to read the phone it says failed to respond or no phone. anyone know how to get qpst or cdma workshop to see the phone? tried a virtual port but no go.
on another note, talked to a tech supervisor at verizon today and she confirmed they will still add phones from other carriers if you can get the tower to pick it up. she said "not all phones and not all carriers". I cant get my phone to connect to the *228 for verizon to get it to send the ESN. again any ideas?
**UPDATE**
okay, updated PRL and the phone can now talk to the verizon network. just need to see if the esn will make into the system so I can add the device, if not I will have to try other measures.
helppppp!!!!!
I have searched and searched and searched, used google, ask, bing, everything. I just want to get my sprint q9c onto verizon. I have flashed the rom updated the prl and verizon says they will not add this phone. I am left with cloning the esn from my original Q to my Q9c. I have looked and searched everywhere for directions on how to do this and can find nothing. I have radiocomm, rsd lite, rsd general, unicdma, qpst, bitpim, cdma workshop, ceregedit, cdma universal and no directions on how to do the ESN change. I am pulling my hair out! I have been searching for 3 days for some info on how to do this. please help, I am begging someone....

You bricked it. I would search the forums carefully and maybe some of the chefs or better experts than myself can give you some suggestions.
I don't want to "rub salt in the wound" but there were numerous warnings posted across the forums about not installing a GSM ROM onto a CDMA phone (and vice-versa):
http://forum.xda-developers.com/showthread.php?t=616537&highlight=brick+phone+gsm+cdma
I wish you the best of luck un-bricking your phone. Worst case scenario, take it back to USCC and say "it's broke".
Dude,
CDMA and GSM devices have COMPLETELY different hardware. The radios are not compatible at all. A hard lesson learned. Hopefully you can get it replaced and start over. I highly recommend rereading the stickies here and/or on PPCGeeks that talk about hardSPL unlocking, unlocking, relocking, flashing, radio flashing, etc before you do anything to your next device.
I am sorry if this is in the wrong section . I have a TB that I am trying to flash to Cricket. However with CDMA WS I have no access to any of the memory. Can not flash PRL, if you scan the memory the phone shuts down. You can't do a read in the main section, phone fails to answer.
Are there any roms or tweaks out there that unlock access to the radio?
I'm sure this phone relies on the sim for some of the information including your number and 1x,3g,4g data
If I pull my sim out I lose all data
I've been told the prl auto updates upon boot
So this is probably Verizon's first phone that can't be used on another network like cricket
Sent from my ADR6400L using XDA Premium App
I'll start with a disclaimer: I have absolutely no idea how to get it to work. But I would imagine there is no chance of that working with Verizon's SIM inserted. Likewise, since the phone pulls its information from the SIM, I doubt you'd succeed in getting it to work without a SIM at all.
You could always try using a Cricket SIM (if such a thing exists, I'm not familiar with Cricket) but even that I highly doubt will work.
I think, at this stage, it is a lost cause. Perhaps the release of the kernel will help. See if anyone has had any luck flashing the Evo 4G to alternative carriers. Maybe it's similar.
Unfortunately, I wouldn't bet on this working anytime soon though.

you can flash the evo 4g to metro pcs and cricket, but it isn't the same.
far as I am aware, with the setup of this phone, and with it using a Sim for everything, you won't be able to flash it to cricket. Even then you coould never use the 4G aspect of it as this is set to run on verizons 4G spectrum only.
There has to be a way to unlock the phones memory. I can write the MDN through workshop however MIN says read only. Although you can write in ##program as well, however it does not stick for some reason. You can do this all with the SIM out of the phone so it is not locked down by the sim card it seems.
Ok heres the deal.
My friend sold me this Phone.
Its sch-r920. With CDMA/LTE
Has bad imei and no sim card.
I used qxpc and dfs. I can get it identified which was a pain
Until I changed usb setting to modem from pda.
Now I can connect. And it will let me change phone number
And prl lists and everything except the emei.
It says bad code. And the spc I have works.
It works on all programs.
In dfs the spc lets me read and write everything but emei.
There is no nv_bat. It has the efs folder.
I am not concerned with LTE. I just want the 3g and the phone to work.
metro wont get 4g in this area in my lifetime.
When I check engineering mode it has sp lock and net subset lock and the two others.
Are those lock just for the LTE network?
Or is that effecting my emei writing?
I went through this forum but not much on this model.
I never had a problem with cdma but this is a hybrid phone,
So its new to me.
Any help would be greatly appreciated ive been reading for a week.
I love learning more but it would be nice if someone threw me a bone.
And im not afraid of hex editing, just cannot find the file to edit.
Thank You so much for reading and feel free to pm me.
I have a Sprint S4 L720 and for the past couple of days have been trying to handle this Domestic SIM Unlock using the 2 popular threads (one from @autoprime and other from @imbmiller)
I was successful (well assume I was even though I havent gotten my hands on any other SIM other then my sprint sim) up to the point when I found the 3rd thread found here http://forum.xda-developers.com/showthread.php?t=2539794&page=2 that I encountered errors and couldnt go all the way through.
Now whether I need that 3rd thread to fully unlock my sprint to tmobile i am not sure, it may just be excessive unneeded info for me wanting to do just the basic domestic unlock and not mess around with any ROMS etc.
Well my question is, whatever I did or attempted from the instructions on the 3rd thread, may have caused previous processes from the other 2 threads to erase, how can i get back in DIAG mode
I am stuck and unable to access DIAG mode using ##3424# and had to reinstall samsung drivers because somehow uninstalled. I am trying to do everything all over again from step 1 on thread 1 and its not becoming successful as it originally was.
Damn...I knew I should've just stopped and not continue with thread #3
Help would be greatly appreciated! Thanks
BUMP
I know for the most part what I am doing I just need a quick refreshment; quick insight
please.
anyone?
