Ok here is the deal I studied http://forum.xda-developers.com/showthread.php?t=448008 downloaded all the software. My phone is GSM TP2 Sprint, I started with the FlashHardSPL and I ran RaphaelHardSPL-Unsigned_190_1_3.exe (step 5)
clicked on the appropriate buttons..and it started to load. It remain stuck at 0% for a while and I got an error in the meantime my phone also just shuts off goes completely black. I think its safe to say its officially bricked i tried to do a hard reboot nothing comes up..I cant even power on or enter bootloader. The only thing I get to come on is the Charging Orange buttom.
I'm using Windows 7, and Net 4
any unbricking ideas?
You have a CDMA Touch Pro 2. This is for GSM Touch Pro. Completely different phones.
Your phone's probably dead, and like petard said, it's not gsm, it's cdma if it's a Sprint. Not that that matters anyway, because you flashed a raphael hard spl onto a rhodium. Despite the similar brand name, they're completely different phones. I suppose you could spend some time trying to flash the proper rhodium-cdma hard spl (if it exists), but my guess is that you won't save the phone. Or, if you can get ahold of a stock (not reconstructed) sprint rom, try flashing it (make sure it's a TP2 rom, not a TP rom). The fact that the bootscreen was stuck on 0% says to me that you may have a little hope. Have you removed the battery for a while, then tried turning on the power or soft resetting? If that doesn't work, go to the flashing.
Well that pretty much sums it up for me...Why does the tutorial say that if it has a sims card then its a GSM phone, that was my biggest concern I checked and found a sim card I knew Sprint was CDMA phones but TP2 being and international phone also I thought it was an GSM phone. I guess I will look around try you guys unbricking schemes thanks alot.

Ok does CDMA has a tutorial like the GSM?...I will search too thanks
First of all: touch pro 2 is not raphael...so you got that wrong. Second, I have a GSM Raphael and I almost bricked it while trying to install a CDMA ROM but I managed to go into the bootloader and fro there it was easy...Try that yourself and see if it works...
BTW:
It says it clearly:
***THIS TUTORIAL IS FOR THE GSM RAPHAEL'S ONLY!!! DO NOT USE WITH CDMA VERSIONS***
I apologize for the noob error thanks all

There are newer phones coming out that are dual sim-cdma. You use the cdma networks in the US, and then can use pre-paid sim cards abroad (cdma phones are pretty much useless abroad). I guess this is what you have. I have no idea how you flash one of those. You sure you're not confusing the sim card with an sd card?
If you can get into bootloader, you may be ok. But it sounds like you can't, so I suspect the phone is toast. The problem with flashing the wrong hard spl is that you now have an spl that doesn't work properly, and it also can't be over-written. The spl boots up the phone, but it also controls rom upgrades. So, it doesn't work, it can't be over-written, and it won't allow you to flash anything new. That's a bad place to be.

Dang, sorry about your woes. Funny, with the craziness of the HSPL for your phone coming out any time now, I just did what you did! Yeah, and I'm not really a noob either. lmao!! My TP2 didn't brick, I just got an error message. Lucky?
Tell us what happens when you try to turn your phone on...
Idiot x 2
I just bricked mine.. It was a Sprint Duel mode CDMA TP2.. i was tired and loaded the wrong file.. it all loaded fine.. then reboot, and black screen.. no power, no nothing.. now what..??
sadly
Same Goes for me have a Sprint TP2 and used the wrong cdma or gsm rom or spl not sure happened about a month ago been keeping it as a paper weight...Hold Power button (Top left) and vol. down at the same time let go of power button keep holding vol down does nothing..Power button alone does nothing..Plug it in and the charging light goes on then I assume battery is fully charged the light goes off... pc doesn't detect it mtty.exe doesn't pick it up when i put it on usb..
Bottom line..Its a $200 paper weight with a keyboard now?
Makes you worry when people have £500 + phones and they just jump in and brick there phones, all the info is provided just takes a day or so to read, read again then do it again....

Hello!
I have HTC Rhodium which i bought on eBay from USA (i'm from Europe).
I'm using GSM network, not CMDA, but the phone is CMDA-GSM version.
Now the problem:
I downloaded a Hard SPL for this version (RhodiumW-HardSPL_V1_10R3) but i cannot get it to work. I plug in usb in my phone and pc, WMDC connect, and then i start Hard SPL, i see the first page, but then my phone shuts down.
And i cannot power it back on until i take out the battery. Then it works normal again.
I really want to upgrade to WM 6.5 and i have been reading this forum for 2 hours straight and can't seem to find an answer to my problem.
Does anybody know what to do?
Thanks
You're in the wrong forum, this is the one for GSM ROMs. Your phone is a CDMA worldphone, so you need to use the CDMA ROMs and HardSPL, and there is a sticky thread on the CDMA forum where you might find some help.
Thanks for the reply.
I found Hard SPL for CDMA worldphone but it says that it's not compatible with CDMA-GSM version. I guess there are 3 version out there, GSM, CDMA and CDMA-GSM.
As i said before i downloaded Hard SPL for CDMA version, read above...
I tried a Hard SPL version for GSM version and it works, the phone doesn't shut down, but on the screen shows message that it's not for this version and it could brick the phone.
The HardSPL sticky in the Rhodium CDMA forum says :
this package is for Rhodium CDMA-GSM worldphone version only

I don't know much about CDMA phones, but that sounds like your one ? In any case, the folks in that CDMA forum are probably best placed to help you compared to those in this GSM one.
I just found out what was wrong. My ignorance the phone should do exactly what it did. It supposed to shut down when you start a hardSPL, but when you install new ROM, the phone should be powered on. I just got my HTC like three days ago, so sorry for my not-knowing. Everyday you learn something new.
Now i got WM6.5 ROM on my HTC
Thanks for the help steviewevie anyway.
Hi, I am sort of new here but I know enough to get around on what I need to do, but I am at a stand still...
I bought a US Cellular Touch Pro 2 from Ebay which was "unlocked" supposedly, but my ATT phone card does nothing in it, I can get digital roaming but ATT will not work on the phone.
So my question is, what are the needed steps in order to get my Touch Pro 2 to get working on the ATT network. As far as I know the Security is not unlocked.
Thanks ahead of time,
if you need any other information please ask =D
-Cyanide
Note: I bought an unlock code from Ebay earlier, but since it says its unlocked I cant use the code, unless there is another way to use that code.
if im right and some1 here can correct me if im not. i think u have to sim unlock it for it to work.
My US Cell TP2 came SIM unlocked
Same as above, my us cell tp2 came sim unlocked also
I just got one from ebay, and I had to security unlock it and install appropriate radio to get it working on at&t
Will any of the GSM labeled AT&T work or is there one that's best?
forum.xda-developers.com/showthread.php?t=549939
will it work with umts 850????
do you know if someone got it working????
I just bought three of these off ebay that were 'unlocked'
yes it says 'your phone is sim unlocked' in the security tab but my ATT cards are not working
someone mentioned adding software or something. can someone please show me how to do this asap. we kinda counted on having the phones today.
i bought a us cellular on ebay as well. had to security unlock it. Got code from this site and then bought from olipro. this should help.
http://rhodiumw.htc-unlocks.com/

There are two different kinds of SIM Unlocks
There is the stock SIM unlock which allows you to use the sim card for other countries. You click on settings, and sim management and it says the sim is unlocked. However, that does not mean that you can use it with ATT or TMobile here in the united states. Reboot your phone and you will most likely see that your radio says something like 2.10.00WF The WF is what is screwin you over with ATT. You need to pay for and use the SIM unlock from Olipro, (there are tons of links already for it.) and unlock the phone. Then put a WU radio on it. I find that the best one that works for USCC is the 1.96.10WU Radio. It has the least amount of DATA crashes. Hope that helps ya out a bit.

weird. olinex recomended the 2.32.00wu radio over all the others. but seeing as how my data connection never wants to stay open, maybe i will give that one a try.
Ok so i got the paid unlocking tool and ran it. it appears to have worked.
I then went to this link
http://forum.xda-developers.com/showthread.php?t=578659
and installed both the us cellular and sprint (the first and fourth link).
was that a mistake?
Anyway it doesnt say att when i put in a non active sim card.
is it still ready to use? also when i install the radios should it be in global or gsm mode or does it matter?

YOU SHOULD BE BANNED FOR TROLLING AND MAKING FALSE STATEMENTS! YOU DON'T KNOW WHAT YOU'RE TALKING ABOUT!...
Why don't you go ahead buy a CDMA TP2 phone and flash a GSM radio or ROM, go ahead. And make someone record your face and the device. Let's see how you enjoy turning a working phone into a black death piece of hardware that will not respond or do anything.
You better delete your post before someone that doesn't know any better follow your misguided advice and brick their phone!
@DaveNavy,
Read up a bit on this device before advising people. Flashing a GSM rom on a native CDMA device (RhodiumW) is the best and fastest way to end up with a brick. Please make sure about these things before you post anything like this again.
@ all,
Please stop the flaming right here.

How long did it take after you paid to get the download link?
Works great using windows 7. I am running Att with data smooth now.
Hello All,
I hope someone can help me with this.
I have a TP2 (Sprint) and I need to use it for At&t.
The first thing I did was unlock the device using RhodiumWUnlocker from Olipro (and made my donation ).
I did all steps, and everything went fine. No problems. And it detected AT&T
Then I flashed the ROM with EnergyROM Leo Manila 2.5 WM6.5 v 16Feb2010, By NRGZ28. (File: Energy.RHOD500.23529.Leo_MaxManila.16.Feb.2010.rar) - Still all well, no problems.
Then it went back to stock and could not detect AT&T. So I flashed the Radio Version: 4.49.25.91 from this thread: forum.xda-developers.com/showthread.php?t=549939.
Now I cannot turn on my phone at all - No "touchpro2" screen, no bootloader, nothing at all. The phone doesn't react to any combinations of buttons to turn on or load up bootloader. When I connect the phone to the computer (Vista by the way) the charging orange light comes on for about 3 minutes then goes off. Then I press the power button and the light comes back on, but nothing else happens to the phone.
Please help!!! Let me know what's wrong and how I can fix it, please!!! I'll make another donation to fix it.
Thanks!
I'm no expert but it sounds like you may have flashed a CDMA Rhodium with GSM firmware. I had a quick look and it seems the Sprint Rhodium is CDMA, you should have a look at the CDMA Rhodium forum here:
http://forum.xda-developers.com/forumdisplay.php?f=517
I'm not totally sure of the GSM / CDMA thing because I'm not in the U.S. it's not something I need to worry about.
Good luck dude
Yeah the more I look at this, the more I am convinced this is what has happened.
You used CDMA HardSPL (RhodiumWUnlocker)
Then flashed a CDMA ROM (Energy.RHOD500 ...)
but your mistake was to flash a GSM Radio ROM (I followed the URL you gave and up popped the GSM Radio ROM thread)
I don't know if this is recoverable but searching the CDMA forum would be a good start. You can't be the first person this has happened to.
Thanks for the response, but I am certain I flashed the correct ROM.
*I went to the wingster website
*I selected CDMA ROM's
*Clicked on EnergyROM Leo
*Clicked on Download - Hotfile.com
*Selected this ROM: Energy.RHOD500.23529.Leo_MaxManila.16.Feb.2010.rar
When I flashed this ROM, the phone loaded up without any issues. The only problem was that I could not make calls because it could not detect the AT&T SIM card. So I flashed the radio shown on the post from xda, and the PC said congratulations, everything is complete and good. At this time, the cell phone rebooted and it just never came back on.
Thanks for the help!!
Thanks MadBeef, I will research the CDMA forum.
The Main ROM you flashed was fine. It's the Radio ROM you flashed that killed it, because your phone is CDMA hardware but now it has GSM Radio ROM on it. That's my theory anyway, I'm hoping someone a bit more experienced with CDMA will be able to chime in.
If you can get back into the bootloader somehow, you should be able to flash a CDMA Radio ROM.
I only read the first line of your problem...sprint to at&t...it can never happen. Sprint is cdma which has no sim and at&t is a gsm which has a sim. You better have insurance so you can run over your now "speed bump" and get a new one.

ROM fine.
Radio ROM = BAD.
RHOD400 and RHOD500 are the model numbers for the Sprint and Verizon TP2s respectively. Other carriers also share these model numbers, but those are the big two.
The Radio ROM you flashed however is for the GSM only TP2, not the combo CDMA/GSM TP2 that you have.
Flashing that Radio ROM was a HUGE no-no. Boom.

You should put a little more time into research before jumping in with the flip comments.
1) Sprint does have SIM cards. I've got one in my hand. (No, they're not used in all phones of course, but Sprint does have their own).
2) The Sprint Touch Pro 2 can very well be used on ATT once it is security unlocked and a patched Radio ROM is flashed. To say "it can never happen" is flat out wrong because it's been happening for a few months.
3) The CDMA Touch Pro 2 models (RHOD400 and RHOD500) aren't just CDMA. They are CDMA/GSM/UMTS worldphones, supporting operation in all three modes.
I'm Sorry Gamescan if I did not understand correctly. Does this mean there is no help? There's absolutely nothing I can do to revert this and fix it?
I really appreciate all the help!!
I wanted to reply to Akademik's comment, but I didn't have time. This is not the first phone I flash, but it is the first CDMA/GSM phone. I know this phone is dualmode, else I wouldn't have bought it to use it in AT&T.

Can you connect to it via a mtty terminal?
I don't know if the SD card flash method would work here. If it were my phone I'd try it, but if it's not getting as far as the bootloader I think the chances are slim Maybe while there is no SIM card in it, give the radio ROM less to do?
Found some CDMA radios here:

this result is based on shenriquez american flag in his pro. basically saying hes in america using an american sprint tp2 and trying to use american att service.
gamescan, if i said it cant be dont its quite obvious ive done research through trials and also working a phone carrier for 3 years before finding a better job...THIS CANNOT BE DONE. the dual mode in the sprint tp2 is ment for when people travel to europe, they can pop their "european sim" in and be on their merry way. european cell towers accept the frequency of the sprint tp2 and establish a connection. the US towers have "locked out" tmo and att from being used in the sprint tp2. the reason why you found att on connection setup was that your phone was basically saying" yes att is here, but your not connecting". shenriquez i followed the link to the radio you flashed before you got "shut off". you shouldnt have flashed a GSM radio on a SPRINT TP2...you are bricked my dude. you gave your phone a seizure man.

Google mtty (or search for it on here).
Short version it's text based, but it's pretty much the lowest level access that a consumer can get to a HTC device without ripping the sucker open, manually desoldering the flash chip and putting in another.
If you're not getting the tri-color bootloader screen, there is still the possibility of saving it via terminal commands, but it's not straightforward (and depending on what happened it is certainly NOT guaranteed).

Only it can be done.
With the tools mentioned in this here very forum.
Any many people have done it.
Again, you're not doing your research and making claims that are flat out wrong.
1) The Sprint TP2 hardware does support the US GSM frequencies.
2) The Sprint TP2 hardware does not ship with a SIM lock.
3) The Sprint TP2 hardware does ship with the two US GSM frequencies disabled in software.
4) If you pay for the Olinex security unlocker you can easily flash a patched radio ROM which re-enabled the two disabled frequencies.
About the only correct thing said in the post above is that he should not have flashed a radio ROM from a GSM-only TP2 to a CDMA/GSM combo TP2. The two devices do have different hardware so flashing the wrong drivers *IS* a BAD THING(tm).
But, assuming you have paid for the security unlocker, flashing a Sprint TP2 with an updated radio ROM is stupid easy and once you've done that making it work on ATT or TMO in the US requires nothing more than slotting in an active SIM card and switching the phone to GSM mode.
If you don't know the answer to something, please feel free to ASK about it, but don't make unfounded and incorrect statements. When you state an absolute that is false it just spreads misinformation which makes things confusing for other users, especially those new to the device.

Prove your lame theory. Links that sprint gsm will connect to US towers. Even links in "this very forum". Different frequencies dude.
My two cents -- as I am new, too -- but I ran into a similar situation trying to update the radio on my Verizon TP2 due to 1X issues. My phone is unlocked as I was running Mighty but decided to return to stock (6.1).
Note: my SIM is not unlocked. If I understand correctly, the SIM needs to be unlocked to be able to install a radio from a different carrier, like Sprint.
[As a side note: I think these forums use the term "radio" a little too loosely because the program to unlock the phone to be able to flash unsigned ROMs is also called a "radio" unlocker.]
Back on topic: I flashed my phone with and unlocked radio 2.23.00WU and the result was similar to what happened to your phone: it did not turn on, orange light was on.
I was able to flash stock ROM back onto the phone using the USB cord and the phone is back to normal. Even though it was basically non-responsive except for the orange light.
My phone is in working order after the wrong radio incident.
I hope this helps.

Prove your lame theory. Links that sprint gsm will connect to US towers. Even links in "this very forum". Different frequencies dude.

If you believe that you're obviously flat out lying when you make the claim of having worked for a carrier for three years, because no one who worked for a wireless carrier could possibly be this ignorant about how GSM works. It's either that or you're purposely posting false information in a lame attempt to screw with the newbies on this site.
The Sprint TP2 hardware supports all four GSM frequencies - 850, 900, 1800, 1900. You can pull up any spec sheet on the model to see that. This isn't exactly hidden information.
Sprint disables the US frequencies in firmware.
If you are security unlocked you can flash one of the two patched radios in the sticky thread in this forum.

Then you toss an active SIM card into the phone and turn it on while in the US. Set it to GSM mode and bam, you're on a US tower.
Your claim is the equivalent of running around screaming "The sky is GREEN because I say it is! The sky can't be blue. That's false!"

The phone needs to be security unlocked to flash a different radio. If it is not security unlocked a unsigned radio will cause the boot sequence to fail. Flashing a carrier provided radio will restore the phone to service.
Security Unlocking means setting the phone to SuperCID. It is different than SIM unlocking.
SIM unlocking allows you to use different SIM cards. It does not allow you to flash unsigned radios.
The Olinex unlocker will both security unlock you (SuperCID) and SIM unlock you (if needed).
if device was security unlocked and is detected by pc, most likely it can be recovered by mtty. unlike my case where device was not sec unlocked but its detected by mtty using usb or serial. bad news is it would be very hard to recover, im doing some jtag research first, at least i found the pins but no pinout.

thats for a radio not rom. find the cdma rom that allows you to use a gsm sim. you cant use the cdma rom over att network...and that link you posted, there are no success stories in it, only complaints. you have no idea what you are talking about. you sit there posting false statements and trying to sound smart with your handy thesaurus. stop posting false statements lame.
Already moved from the TP2 to the EVO, then I had to switch to verizon for signal issues and now have the Droid X2. I was just messing around with the old TP2 today trying to convert it over to T-Mobile. Everything was going good, everything was unlocked and ready to go. But, in me getting in a hurry, I flashed the regular t-mobile radio, not the unlocked one.
As of right now, I can't get the bootloader to come up at all. The orange light does light up when I plug it in to charge. Thats about it. Is there anything I can do before I trash it? I've read mulitiple thread on it, mtty, jtag, etc... but to no avail. Most of them were over a year old. Has any new options came up since then?
Any help would be greatly appeciated.
Thanx
Bootloader
Find the button combination for forcing the TP2 in to the bootloader. The flash with original carrier OEM or upgrade rom, may come back to life. If revived start over on flash and sim unlock to use T-Mobile.
