Hey guys, I have an s2x where the phone screen is completely broken and I'm unable to see anything on the screen. I can hear the sounds for boot up and alarms and stuff so I know the phone is working just the screen is busted. It's too expensive to fix the display so I was wondering if there is any way at all that I can recover my files without using the screen? it is not running a custom rom and requires that I manually click "USB mass storage mode" when i plug it into the laptop so it's not as simple as doing that.
thanks for your help

So I have a Jet Icon here that has a touch screen malfunction here. Nothing but the actual buttons are working, however the screen does detect my touch as it vibrates whenever I do so. I'm trying to find a way to transfer pictures that I really need to retrieve, so doing a factory reset/system restore is out of the question. Is there any way for me to get the pictures onto my PC? I've plugged in the USB cable to my laptop but it tells me to disable bluetooth which I can't do thanks to this shotty screen. Hopefully there is a way for me to change settings before I go off to the store and request a repair.
Thanks
Do you have and sd card in the phone? You could take it out, but besides that, I think the only way to do it is a wipe.

Hello
i have a HTC Sensation XL. It is not my phone but i have been asked to try to rescue some sound files that are of real importance.
Problem is, that the display is completly damaged. And it might just be the controller or something because the phone boots normally and can receive calls. Unfortunately the phone was given to a repairstore which did not do anything but to damage the volume buttons, The plastik is entirely gone.
There is no root
USB debugging is not activated
I have to enter a PIN (which i know) but i cant since the display is broken.
Is there any way of accessing the internal storage and rescuing those audio files? Those supposed to be interviews for a final exam!
Please dont lecture about data safety. That wont help me and its not my phone either.
I'm trying to help a friend of mine recover some vital files (that for whatever reason, have no other backups) on a LG Optimus F3 (vm720) phone that has had water damage.
The phone turns on, and boots up to the home screen. Problem is, we cannot interact with the screen at all. I supposed that the digitizer might have been damaged, so I bought a replacement, but found that to not work. Pulling out the motherboard revealed that the circuitry that is on the obverse side of where the digitizer plugs in to, is completely fried (See attached.) So, I believe that there is no way we will ever get a touch screen working on this phone again. So, are there other options?
The file we need to access is in app protected storage, for a particular application. I know, that's going to complicate things even moreso.
It appears this device does not have any HID support, so I cannot plug in a USB mouse like I can on my nexus 7.
So a few more ideas, that have their own associated questions:
Is there any low level tool that can dump the app protected memory? (I doubt it, that seems like a security bug)
If we could bring up the application itself, and interact with it, we can retrieve the file we need. But is there anyway to do that through usb/bluetooth/some other way? As far as I can tell, the only buttons that work are: HOME, volume up/down, and power.
Is there any professional services that can desolder the memory board and retrieve files that way? Price is not really a concern here unless it's astronomical.
I can get into the recovery mode, holding down the volume button while powering on, but I'm pretty sure if I were to flash a new ROM that had ADB enabled, it would wipe the app protected storage in the process. I don't think the phone is unlocked either, so that may not even possible at all.
The phone is non-rooted, and does not appear to have ADB turned on.. so this might be a lost cause. :crying:
Dear all,
I recently got water damage on my OP7Pro. Now my screen doesn't work and the phone doesn't respond to touch. So I am left with a black screen that sometimes flickers so I can see the bare minimum.
The phone however does boot into the system and recovery and it vibrates when I slide the notification button up and down. When I plug it in my PC, it only shows the drivers and stuff.
Now I know I cant fix this phone, but I want to recover some important photo's.
Here is the real problem:
Since I have never adjusted the developer settings;
OTG allowance is disabled
USB debugging is disabled
So when using adb, it doesn't recognize my device.
When I boot into recovery I have to fill in a password.
Yet I DO know the password, I just don't know how to enter it.
I'm on the internet for 2 days now without succes.
Does anyone know how I can recover the data?
Any help would be highly appreciated.
Thanks!

If you never unlocked the bootloader or enabled add, you are stuck.
The black screen of death.
Hey guys, suddenly my Axon 10 Pro went black, it looks like it's responding to touch, but I'm unable to see the screen (it's completely dark).
Is there any way to at least mirron hpone screen to the PC so I can control the phone or the only option is to send it to the retailer?
Greetings,
Lech

Theres ways to mirror your phone screen to your pc, but they wont work unless you enabled usb debugging before hand, did you?

Unfortunately no. I guess the only possibility to recover data before sending the phone on the warranty service is to have someone with the same phone to guide me where to press to enable MTP :/
