Dock Warranty - Asus Transformer TF700

I got a simple question? The docking comes with a warranty, correct? If so, it would still be covered if you unlocked the tablet bootloader or not, right? Just curious because the casing on mine feels loose and was thinking about sending it in.

Maybe stupid thinking of myself, but how would they ever know the docking is/was connected to an unlocked tablet? Well, unless you turn in both

Carefully pull off the two top foot pads. You will see the screws lose (Mine weren't even in). Tighten them up - problem solved.

My TF300T is DEAD!!! please HELP!!!

I put my TF300T with the dock together to sleep and some 30 minutes later i decided to put it on and the next thing i saw was that it was re booting, awkward but i felt no problem... after finishing booting for like 2min. it was not responsive and the battery section only shows one batter with a RED exclamation mark ( indicating battery is bad) so i decided to remove the dock and rebooted the tab. The tablet came on and responsive but when i tried to put back the dock station 3-5 seconds after the tablet went DEAD and since i have been trying to bring it online, i have not been able to.
ANY HELP will be appreciated. Is there any way to take this thing to emergency mode at if it is not hardware problem prob. it can be fixed rather than sending to the service center in the US. I am in Nigeria and my return policy deadline is today. i got the tablet from amazon 26th June (last month)...
Thank in advance!
If your deadline's today, e-mail Amazon so that they can help you return it, that way you still have some time to repair it yourself and will be covered if repairs are needed.

Yes it is (it even appears in the user manual). It's located on the left side, right under the SD card port of the tablet.

Waoooo!!, i never bother to read the manual, and the tablet with the dock is now with the ASUS North America service center for repair.
It was actually troubleshooted with me and the ASUS pple said it is a power problem and gave me RMA number and require me to send it in. Now waiting to hear from them when it will be finished and sent to me!
Thanks though for letting me know this info

Keyboard dock produces smoke or fire

When I attach my keyboard dock to the TF300T, I get smoke and a little bit of fire and the tablet turns off. I detach the keyboard and the tablet works fine after turning it back on. I've tried this a handful of times and every time the tablet turns off, the last time it made smoke again.
So I need to send them both in I presume, but I have an unlocked bootloader. So even though I've messed with the software does that void the warranty for hardware problems too? Would flashing a different ROM do anything about that? I'm on Skang Jellybro.
unlocking voids warranty as warned by Asus.
i would send it anyway to warranty service.

hel yeah mate send it to asus as that is crazy dangerous
Sorry I should clarify my question. I know I can't re-lock my bootloader, would changing roms somehow change the voltage at the connector

Probably not but I'd flash stock before sending and you can check the result on the dock before you ship.

I have been Looking into the Purchase of the Dock for my TF300T but have been hesitant because of issues with the screens cracking and Now I see that Amazon is No Longer offering the Dock for sale pending an investigation of this item, which maybe for the flaming/smoking Keyboard.
I don't think the Fact that you Unlocked the Bootloader on your TF300T would have an effect on you Keyboard Dock Warranty.
Seems many are having this concern, Many Review at Amazon are about flaming/smoking keyboards and it seems its with the Dock itself and not the tablet.
Amazons Statement:
Item Under Review
While this item is available from other marketplace sellers on this page, it is not currently offered by Amazon.com because customers have told us there may be something wrong with our inventory of the item, the way we are shipping it, or the way it's described here. (Thanks for the tip!)
We're working to fix the problem as quickly as possible.

Stuck power button

I had TF700 for only 1 month and the power button already got stuck in.

It's called a defect... It happens. While the buttons on the TF700 *are* flimsy, I don't believe I've heard of any other complaints of a non-working power button, so I think it's safe to say that this isn't a common issue.
To be honest, I don't use my physical power button much and hardly ever use the physical volume buttons. When at a desk at work or at home, my bluetooth mouse automatically wakes the device and I turn it off with the lock button on the dock. The screen also automatically turns off and on when you open or close the docked device.
So, the only time that I use the physical power button is when I turn the device of/off when it undocked, which isn't very often...

Mine is the same it still works just needs a little more pressure

The power button still works, but requires some pressure to turn device on/off. It feels more like a sensor button now, i.e. if I press it, it doesn't travel down at all.
Your tablet is still under warranty if it's only a month old - just get Asus to fix it and be done with it. No amount of complaining in this forum will fix it!

No, not if you unlocked it.
However, you *can* purchase a SquareTrade warranty up to 90 days after purchase, in some cases. You may want to look into that... I forget what the exact terms are - sometimes you have up to 30 days after purchase and in some cases you have up to 90 days after purchase...

[Q] Replacing Dock Battery in T300

I need to replace the battery in the dock of my T300, but can NOT find one.
Sucker went completely flat - unknown to me - and when I started charging it orange blinking light, then solid, but only charge to about 10%, stays orange for days. That's my reason for thinking it's the battery.
Anyone know where I can get one - cheap maybe?
I've searched everywhere. - I really have.
i think your charger works well.
here is a thread about dock battery replacement :

We could find a C21-TF201XD here :

Hope it helps

Yes it did, thank you.
I saw the thread, but I'm at a loss to figure out exactly what model dock I have so that I can match battery's.
The number on it: 15100-0304U100 KS - I'd like to not have to take it apart, order battery, put it back together, get battery, take apart etc.
sure, it's not fun to get it open to read the part number, but you have to deal width to not spend 80$ for nothing

Thanks, but is a T201 the ONLY K/B that will fit a TF300?
Curious even though I'm going to open mine - tried to charge it today and NO light - orange or otherwise - put the tablet on it and then both went orange.
it's not a good idea. tf201 is thiner than a tf300t.

Anyone know what is holding the halves together? I've got it apart to the touchpad - I can see what is hold that section together.
*********************** edit ***********************
MAN the pins (nuts) are stuck IN!
Now that this is a part, anyone have an idea of where I can find the wiring diag of the battery so I can see if it's charged/dead/shorted - eliminate the charging circuit, which I actually think it is.
Just curious...... Is your dock over a year old? If not I would send it back and have Asus fix it under warranty.

From the date inside it is.
Even if it wasn't I wouldn't send it back to them - the last 2 times I've sent a Mobo and a tablet they claimed I broke it and wouldn't fix it.
Punks - I've been building these things since they were in large refrigerated rooms - long before they were born.
ASUS isn't the company they were 10 years ago.
ANYways, I took the battery out and popped the tablet in and plugged in power, the dock rapidly flashed orange, the tablet was solid orange but not charging - leads me to believe my third ASUS P/S went belly up.

[Q] Question about getting MicroSD slot fixed

I damaged my microSD slot in the tablet by accident a while back and as a result, whenever I try to put one in, it won't stay in at all.
I'm looking at getting the problem fixed as my tablet is running slow with all the apps installed on it and I have insurance that covers accidental damage and I was wondering would it be easier to have it fixed through my insurer or should I get try and get it fixed under warranty even though the tablet is rooted.

Rooting doesn't matter, but if you damaged the slot by dropping it or something like it, it's not covered under manufacturer warranty. Go with your insurance.
