Go to your nearest Samsung Service Centre and you should tell them that:
"I am updating my phone using Samsung Kies, then suddenly Kies crashed at the flashing process.."
I think they will get your phone repaired for free, unless your phone is still covered by the warranty.

Is that true mate? Last time i remember that Samsung Service Center check the software as well, they count how many times you flash the phone.
If that was true, I'm going to back to GB from A4 with Bootloaders so i can hardbrick my phone, wait....my phone warranty is already dead :silly:

Too bad that my friend's galaxy R also become black screen forever today! (Is it a black day today?)
He told me that he has plugged the machine to USB charge and leave it there for an hour. After unplugged, he cannot wake up the device. After pulling off battery and re-plug the battery, he still could not see anything from screen except complete darkness...
I do think that the phone has gone into APX mode and *might* be rescued by using nvflash method... still, I don't know how to help him. Anyone get any ideas?
I knowed more than 10 people whose GSR become brick . And i doubt the quality of Samsung GSR . because according to those people they said their phone become brick unexpected. and only way to recovery is use one machine called T32 or riff Tjag...
I've flashed about five different stock roms, and three seperate fan made roms plus numerous part builds to test for devs, and I have had zero problems
sorry to hear about yours

Thanks for your information.
So, should I suggest my friend to return the phone to Samsung repair center? Can Samsung recover it? If the phone has been rooted, is it still under warranty? Thanks.

If they detect the root, then they would not give you the warranty. But if it completely dead and they are unable to see if it has been rooted or not, they can't void the warranty.

Yes, you should see my name in some Chinese forums as I have also posted my kernel for Galaxy R in some Chinese forums
Well, I think we should obey the rules in this forum that we should communicate in English in all open threads.
If you want to talk in Chinese with me, can you please type to me using "Private Messages"? Thanks.
So , is there any news ?
RIFF doesn't detect my phone .
i had tried to install a custom rom and my phone is not starting in either way
it is neither starting in download mode ; the normal on nor in the recovery mode
i have already done this rooting and i am not new to installing custom rom in my device i.e. SAMSUNG GALAXY ACE.
i have also tried to boot it by using usb jig but it failed.
so guys do u have any idea how i can get my phone back or is it bricked for ever.
please share ur views.
Can you link the ROM you flashed?
If you take out the battery then put it back in, then turn it on (or attempt to), does it do anything at all? Vibrate, flash something, anything?
If you plug it in to your computer, does it recognize anything as plugged in, even just a driver?

hmm.
Here is the ROM you flashed then
http://forum.xda-developers.com/showthread.php?t=2013936
I notice it says this
Caution: This update should be strictly applied to the devices which are having the model number as ACE S5830i and is not for S5830 model. If you still continue to update in your S5830 model, then we should not be held responsible for any damage happened.

Sounds like you didn't have the i version...
To unbrick try the method here
http://forum.xda-developers.com/showthread.php?t=1840645
the 2nd section on unbricking, there's a chance you are missing the drivers necessary to have your computer recognize it and restore it. It's worth a shot.

Oh, I didn't actually watch the video, I assumed "unbrick" had something to do with maybe not being able to access Download Mode.
Something crazy, are you sure your battery is in correctly, and are any of the pins that connect to the battery from the phone bent?

Sounds hard bricked to me, let me see if someone with more knowledge on that phone has better insight.
It does sound like its hard bricked.
If usb jig didn't work for you, then only Samsung can fix it for you.
As for warranty, depending on what reason you give them for the "sudden death" of your phone, you might be able to claim it.
Your phone's hard bricked. Get it repaired in the service center!

You should probably call Samsung for a possible warranty claim at this point.

They might honor the warranty without having to "have" anything, just ask them. I have no idea how much they'll charge.
Motherboard replacement - anywhere around 2500INR
Approx 50USD.
There's one last thing to try.
JTAG. If you don't know how to do it, ask these guys if they can help you with your phone. http://mobiletechvideos.mybigcommerce.com/
They're very good and trustworthy, and their service is great.
It may not start in Download mode, but I'm quite sure a JTAG is still in point. If it doesn't boot into Download mode, it means bl.bin got messed up, which is something unusual since only Samsung code/flashable through ODIN can change that file.

You will have to send it to them and it will cost money. It's not something you can get a guide to do - they need to hook up hardware to the phone and that hardware is more expensive than paying them to do it, and not a "do it yourself" kind of thing.
You could search for JTAG repair in your country. Shipping might not be too bad in a small pre-paid USPS PMI box if you have access to that - I sent a small box to Russia for $13 USD

My N8000 was working normally on the latest official not rooted rom (N8000XXCMD1_N8000RBTCMD1_DBT) and all of a sudden on a normal restart it hang on the samsung screen & when i tried to put it in the downloading mode it gave me the following lines
ODIN MODE
PRODUCT NAME:
CUSTOM BINARY DOWNLOAD: NO
CURRENT BINARY: SAMSUNG OFFICIAL
SYSTEM STATUS: CUSTOM
i connected it to my laptop & the ODIN discovered it but when i tried to flash a rom it gave me an error related to the partition. Any idea how this can be solved please. my device is not under warranty & at the Samsung service center they said it needs to change the main board of the device...is it really that serious of there is a solution for that.
Thanks
Lacking information so just a guess.
You have a damaged PIT partition or Nand .

Its a hard brick the only way to fix is to replace the motherboard which is costly
If u don't have warranty then you are in trouble . Gd luck

what might have caused such a hard brick.....the device wasn't even rooted
If you haven't rooted it or installed custom rom - RETURN IT UNDER WARRANTY... It will be fixed by Samsung at no cost to you... Screwing around now will get you into hot water and then you will need to pay $$$ to fix.... While under warranty, and still stock, return it...

unfotuantely it is not under warranty anymore....i have read somewhere that it can be fixed through flashing a .pit file through ODIN...is that right?
A bug on the firmware or a malware application you installed also a damaged software update can cause this
And sorry to inform you that in your situation only replacing the motherboard will fix the problem .

Keep reading around and trying different things, little effort and you should be able to get her going. Little pain in the ass though.

Unless you bought a refurb you should have standard 1 year warranty from Samsung...
The note 10.1 came out less than a year ago. You should have manufacturers warranty....
I have had my Galaxy S7 for about 2 months, brand new from Verizon, I updated my firmware using their Samsung official update and when it booted it up, it said custom, but when I used a root checker it said it was not rooted, and I tried to use some superuser features and they would not work, but the phone still shows custom.
The phone worked fine up until a week ago when it started to freeze, then would reboot and take hours to turn on. The phone got to the point where it wouldn't even reboot, even after a master reset, and flashing the stock ROM via Odin. I took it into Samsung to get help, after they tried to flash it and it didn't get passed boot, I was turned away because the phone appeared to be rooted and I was told to send it in to Samsung. This is a problem I have never seen before. I did not try any attempt to root my device or download anything that wasn't official. I have sent my phone into Samsung so they can "investigate the issue" and I am awaiting the response. I have some questions.
1. Is this common?
2. How could this have happened?
3. Does flashing a stock rom via Odin trip Knox?
4. if Samsung turns me away what should I do?
Thanks.

1. I wouldn't think so

3. A clear: NO
4. I guess you might need to be strict, adamant and maybe threaten them a little? Americans like to sue, right?
Hello,
So I have an international A51 model and have had it for over a year. Recently, it froze while using the browser and now continually bootloops. When I'm able to enter the OS, it freezes up again. I've tried clearing the cache, doing a factory reset, and even tried to flash the original firmware via ODIN. When I'm able to boot in now, it takes me to set up and tells me there was an unauthorized factory reset attempt. Usually freezes up shortly thereafter.
Any advice would be appreciated.
Did you succeed in flashing firmware using Odin?

First time I tried to change CSC from country of origin to my own. It said success but phone was still bootlooping. Second time I used the original firmware and CSC and had the same result
It's hard bricked if you cannot do anything even after flashing official firmware.

Is there anything Samsung can do or am I just out of luck entirely?
Interesting thread, seems like hardware problem(the EMMC internal storage chip is failing.)
Do you still have warranty?

Samsung can but I think you would have to pay if you don't have warranty which is not even a guarantee since warranty doesn't cover user modifications.
Take it to some unofficial store and you may end up paying less.
So Samsung's policy here is a 2 year warranty for Australian models, 1 year for international warranty. My model is from the UAE and so my warranty has ended. They've told me they will try to fix it but can take between 1 - 6 days up to 6 weeks depending on the issue. I'll follow that up.
If they're able to fix it I'll update this thread with the issue as to maybe help someone else. Thanks for your contributions.
