[Q] tweak to sync all email with stock mail app - Asus Transformer TF700

I've set up the stock email app (asus) to fetch my hotmail. Is there an option to sync all email instead of only the last month?
I use CleanRom Inheritance 3.0.3. In one of the erlier versions it was possible to sync all, but now it's not anymore... and de dev that works on CleanRom Inheritance doesn't have an idea...

i know what you mean , noticed myself and is rather annoying!
my workaround is to swap kernel... when i setup my rom i use stock kernel (stock d2sd version) ... sync my
email history (1 year) and then swap to clemsyns (i actually use d2sd version 3.03 on latest CROMI ).
clemsyns only lets me sync 30days. After i swap kernel i dont touch my email settings for sync, my email
keeps up2date !

Thanks! After swapping kernel to stock (I used clemsyns) I get the option to sync all email! After swapping it back to clemsyns the option disappears, but if you don't touch the setting there is no problem and all mail remains synced.
So it is a kernel related setting...
Really helped me, thanks!

[Q] Exchange and ICS 4.0.3

I have looked all over and can't get a good answer on this, I recently updated my Galaxy s2 Att to Siyah 30.31 v3.2.2 and running Phone-Bricker v2.7, before that was Mystics pride. The problem I am having is setting up Exchange email, I have all the settings set correctly as I did on all prior roms and kernels, but it keeps giving me either a (user name or password) error , or an IOException error if I try and use an exchange email app from the market. NOTHING WILL SET UP. Help please.

+1, I think you should try another app
I have tried almost every email app that is Microsoft exchange compatible that ALL give me an error. I read somewhere else its a known Samsung ICS issue. Most people that HAVE to use exchange are going back to gingerbread:/ that is my last resort.
Sent from my SGH-I777 using xda premium
Might be a Samsung issue but:
I am running ICS 4.0.3 Objection#2 UCLD3 ROM on a Galaxy Note i717.
2 different Exchange accounts, on 2 different server versions: Exchange 2010 and one 2003. Both set up and running flawlessly in the stock email app.
You don't mention what server version you are trying to connect to, 2007 and 2010 do require ssl, and if using a self signed cert you must be able to select "Use any certificate".
I know if that option isn't available it will likely be impossible to connect to either of those server versions with a self signed cert.
I know this doesn't help your issue, but to say it's a blanket Samsung ICS issue would seem to be incorrect.
I am in the same situation, 2 Active Sync accounts: Zarafa Z-Push and Exchange 2003. Zarafa seems to work, but Exchange Account stalls at a certain mail and nothing helps. After I delete the account and re-create, it progresses not to the same mail, but another one and stalls there.
I have tried AOSP from here:
http://forum.xda-developers.com/showpost.php?p=25004492&postcount=129
replaced the one from my (very great) distro (http://android.doshaska.net/cm9), results the same...
I am very sad, b/c I love my new milestone in every other aspect

Warning for 'Kaiten Mail' after switched from cm9 to cm10!

hi,
i started this thread because I'm noob on XDA and i'm not allowed to post on development threads.
I had an intersting issue yesterday with my 'kaiten mail'. I switched saturday evening from CM9 (build 20120809) to CM10 (build 20120811). both roms are awsome especially the CM10 works very good (exept of flash player :crying as you see on the screenshots I posted down below kaiten mail downloaded about 1,39GB on wlan and about 300MB on mobile data. I dont know why but after delete and reinstall kaiten the problem was solved.
so this thread is just a warning and to notice you people!!
What is Kaiten Mail, is it a POP3 mail client? Also check out the 20120815 CM10 build, camera is fixed so battery will be much better among other things. Beware of Kaiten mail if wiping user data when upgrading
hey i was false, i already got the 20120815 CM10 build. I be honest, one of my best friends is always doing my upgrades, so i don't know exactly if he did so or not but anyway thanks for your proposal!!! kaiten mail is a pop3 mail client! For me it's the only mail program for android which is really good to work with. What mail program do you use?

Only gmail for me so no idea mate. The reason it didnt use a lot of data after reinstall could be that you might have 1.3 GB of emails on your sdcard, maybe in data folder, so didnt have to get it all again from the server. So still be careful after each reinstall and especially if formatting sdcard
i tryed gmail before i found out kaiten. wasn't satisfy with it.
but anyway thanks for the tip and for your replies! I hope after the whole samsung apple trial the work of all the XDA developer especially the cyanogen mates will still go further. love them for their efforts :good:

Email.apk and exchange folders on 4.2.1

Hi all,
I'm using Paranoidandroid 4.2.1 on Nexus and experiencing no folder sync/browsing with exchange accounts.
Comparing the current version to older ones the arrow for folder browsing has disappeared.
Has Anyone solved it?
I searched a lot but didn't understand if it's a bug or something else.
Thanks

Same for me! Realy missing the email.apk and exchange connectivity (both calendar and mail)!
Using Rufdroid 1.2.0 ( http://forum.xda-developers.com/showthread.php?t=1817897 ), als based on 4.2.1
Great ROM but email is missing (gmail cannot connect to exchange server).
Hope someone have a working email.apk for 4.2.1
I solved just by selecting sync period to the longest one. Magically folders appeared right!!!

I'm wrong, tried to factory reset the phone and after set the exchange account, folders don't sync again!
Magically folders appeared after a long time I set the account... just after some hour of (maybe) frequent syncs.

[Q] Is corporate calendar working on JB 4.2

Has anyone been able to get corporate calendar (exchange) syncing properly on any JB 4.2?
If yes which ROM and GAPPS have been used?
Any help to further debug this issue would be highly appreciated.
OLD POST:
I just flashed JEDI SoA (wiped System/Factory/Cache/Dalvik) and everything is working fine.
I successfully configured my Exchange account ... emails and contacts are sync without any problem but nothing appears in the calendar.
I forced a sync of the calender under Settings/Accounts ... no errors ... but still nothing in the Calendar.
I also tried installing Orthus 8 and I'm getting the same problem.
Under Calendar -> Setting -> Account I see a calendar for my Gmail account but nothing under the corporate one

same issue on Gnex.
I'm having the same issue on my Gnex, already on 2 different 4.2.2 ROMs. Corporate email and contacts are set up properly, but there is no Corporate Calendar in the "calendars to display" of Calendar settings. Under sync all 3 appear, calendar mail and contacts. I tried Slimbean and now on JBSourcery 5.1, both with custom (from the devs side) gapps. Could the gapps package be the fault? When I installed another 4.2.2 ROM, I installed the oficial gapps package for 4.2.2 and calendar sync was present. What apps/services are responsible for the corporate calendar sync ?

Ivan.

Initially I was using Superlite Superfast (vicom Rutumax 4.1.2) ... I'm still using as my daily drive.
Then I installed Jelly Jedi and I also tried Ortus.
Anyway before flashing the new ROM I always perform a "Wipe system" + "Factory reset" (at least 2x).
Exchange works fine on Superlite Superfast 4.1.2 (email + contact + calendar).
I never managed to get any 4.2.2 to work with Calendar ... Emails and Contacts worked initially and then stopped working after a while.
Let me try one more time ...
Has anyone been able to get corporate calendar (exchange) syncing properly on any JB 4.2?
If yes which ROM and GAPPS have been used?
If no ... is this a well know problem of JB 4.2?
Is this a ROM or GAPPS problem?
Thanks

I tried and didn't work. Email are fine but still nothing in the calendar.
Looking around I noticed that my Calendar apparently is working properly only on the distribution using Stock Exchange (SecExchange.apk) vs Exchange2.apk.
Could this be the reason?
I'm getting my outlook calendar to sync also.

Found a solution that worked for me:good:: http://forum.xda-developers.com/showpost.php?p=31803329&postcount=10
I have no data plan on my mobile so I changed "push" in settings to manual. Calendar showed up when I changed back to push. I haven't tested yet if I can sync without push though, but now know where the problem is.:victory:

Thanks snigel, followed the suggestion and worked. During the setup of the exchange account I left the frequency on "push" and the calendar was properly populated. I then changed the setting to manual and the calendar still show the exchange account in the list to sync.

maybe I'm too late... but I also had the same issue... had to set the sync to "Push". This fixed it for me. You can change back later.

Roms with working Exchange?

I have trie both Revelation and ViperS, but none of them works with Exchange (not possible to add account).
Is there any other roms on Jelly Bean for HTC Sensation XE that can handle Exchange accounts (and Facebook syncronisation)?

Do you need it to be Sense-based? If not, have a look at droidevs HTC Sensation ROMs & Development.
It's a bit of a jungle because of the many virations and many(!) updates, but all of them are supposed to support exchange, and those that don't (in their current version) are already identified in the forum threads.
cheers

You CAN use exchange with JB Roms.
This is how you do it:
Iceberger said:
With a help of an older JB rom (an ICS rom wont work), in this case ViperS v3.0.0 and Titanium Backup I came with this workaround.
1. Install ViperS v3.0.0 (JB) and add your Exchange and Hotmail accounts. in v3.0.0 it works!
2. In Titanium backup choose Accounts and Mail 5.5.2311133269.528614.493299 (E-MAIL ACCOUNT SETTINGS) to backup
3. Install ViperS v3.1.1, Restore Accounts and Mail 5.5.2311133269.528614.493299 (E-MAIL ACCOUNT SETTINGS)
4. Reboot
5. In accounts & sync enable synchronization for Exchange and Hotmail (and POP accounts, if you have them)

You restored facebook app along with data? Dont do that never if u did. Just add account and let it sync it self, never restore any Sense apps, or apps like Facebook or Twitter which have Sense integration.
I didnt restore facebook. I just installed it. It seems like its a sense issue. It works with CM10.1

This is a workaround, not a fix.
You should be able to change password, but I am not aure.
For multiple accounts, just add 3 or more accounts in 3.0.0, and delete them after restore in 3.1.1. Then if you'll ever need to get them back, restore again using titanium, and you are good to go.
This is only until the devs fix the issue.
And if this is inconvenient, just use another mail client for the time being.

Happy to help.

Too young here, I can't post on dev thread.
I desperately want to forward my bug report with logcat and so on to devs but i'm too young here. I've opened an issue on their issue tracker on Team Venom web site but 2 days later it's not validated yet...
Waiting for a fix. Meanwhile I keep my Albinoman CM10.1 witch works very well.

ViperS will most likely fix it in the next issue. You can use some other mail client for exchange if you want for the time being.
