Roms with working Exchange? - HTC Sensation

I have trie both Revelation and ViperS, but none of them works with Exchange (not possible to add account).
Is there any other roms on Jelly Bean for HTC Sensation XE that can handle Exchange accounts (and Facebook syncronisation)?

Do you need it to be Sense-based? If not, have a look at droidevs HTC Sensation ROMs & Development.
It's a bit of a jungle because of the many virations and many(!) updates, but all of them are supposed to support exchange, and those that don't (in their current version) are already identified in the forum threads.
cheers

You CAN use exchange with JB Roms.
This is how you do it:
Iceberger said:
With a help of an older JB rom (an ICS rom wont work), in this case ViperS v3.0.0 and Titanium Backup I came with this workaround.
1. Install ViperS v3.0.0 (JB) and add your Exchange and Hotmail accounts. in v3.0.0 it works!
2. In Titanium backup choose Accounts and Mail 5.5.2311133269.528614.493299 (E-MAIL ACCOUNT SETTINGS) to backup
3. Install ViperS v3.1.1, Restore Accounts and Mail 5.5.2311133269.528614.493299 (E-MAIL ACCOUNT SETTINGS)
4. Reboot
5. In accounts & sync enable synchronization for Exchange and Hotmail (and POP accounts, if you have them)

You restored facebook app along with data? Dont do that never if u did. Just add account and let it sync it self, never restore any Sense apps, or apps like Facebook or Twitter which have Sense integration.

I didnt restore facebook. I just installed it. It seems like its a sense issue. It works with CM10.1
Any ideas?

This is a workaround, not a fix.
You should be able to change password, but I am not aure.
For multiple accounts, just add 3 or more accounts in 3.0.0, and delete them after restore in 3.1.1. Then if you'll ever need to get them back, restore again using titanium, and you are good to go.
This is only until the devs fix the issue.
And if this is inconvenient, just use another mail client for the time being.
Jam that thanks button.
Happy to help.

Too young here, I can't post on dev thread.
I desperately want to forward my bug report with logcat and so on to devs but i'm too young here. I've opened an issue on their issue tracker on Team Venom web site but 2 days later it's not validated yet...
Waiting for a fix. Meanwhile I keep my Albinoman CM10.1 witch works very well.

ViperS will most likely fix it in the next issue. You can use some other mail client for exchange if you want for the time being.

Hi, No you can't use any sense program as far as I know without sense running even if you have sense installed. As for facebook, when you install it and run for the first time it will ask you what you want to sync, I personally choose everything but it also will allow only existing contacts. If you need to access that again to change it can be found under settings and accounts. I also you friendcaster and that will sync your fb contacts with your phone as well. Hope this helps.

Seems to pull in the contacts alright, but it doesn't properly merge them with existing contacts.
I used HaxSync to sync my Facebook contacts

I prefer the HTC Contacts app so I installed HtcContacts.apk, ContactsProvider.apk and GoogleContactsSyncAdapter.apk from ARHD 5. Once all your contacts sync up, you can merge them and the changes do transfer over to the stock ICS contacts app if you still prefer to use that.
Edit: I also installed Facebook for Sense from the ARHD ROM, though I'm not sure it was required to get sync working.

[Q] AOSP dialer and contacts. Sync with Facebook?

Hey I installed AOSP dialer and contacts but I can not find how to sync them with facebook. I really liked the Sense dialer linking between Google contacts facebook and more. I want my contacts to have picture and birthday reminder and etc. but how to sync them to facebook. If there is no option is there an application to do this?
You can't as stock Google doesn't sync with Facebook as Facebook doesn't use the Google Contact API

Thanks. But I don't think this is exactly what I am looking for or I can't find how to do what I need. So the program synchronizes only contacts with the same name or which were synchronized when I was with HTC dialer. I can't anywhere to manually atach a Facebook account to google account. I am searching for this type of program.

Look in the HyperNonSense ROM thread for the "extras" and find the "facebook_sync.zip" which is flashable from recovery. This will replace your contacts.apk and contactsprovider.apk with modified versions that work with the original facebook sync.
Flash it, clear cache/dalvik cache, reboot.
Go into the FACEBOOK APP and then go to settings/accounts and add it from there. If you try to go through the system settings -> accounts/sync -> and add it there, it won't work (at least not for me). After I flashed it, I tried going straight from the accounts/sync and it appeared to act just like before.. you select facebook and then nothing happens. However, when I loaded up the facebook app, it asked right away if I wanted to sync my contacts just like on gingerbread.
Do a nandroid backup for sure...
I'm on the OpenSensation April 9 build if you were curious what I flashed it over.
Hope that helps.
Thanks a lot! That's what I am looking for but I can't manage it to work. I installed trough 4ext recovery and wiped cache+dalvik. I am using ARHD 6.6.1 + http://forum.xda-developers.com/showthread.php?t=1470497 this mod for AOSP. In the facebook app in settings the only options about contacts, accounts is about whether to sync or not to sync so I chose to sync with existing contacts. Nothing really happened and in settings->account/sync there isn't anything new to add. So for now nothing new has happened could you guide me more what should I do to mange to get it work.

[Q] Replace htc email app with standard android version?

The email app installed on the HTC One S is horrible compared to the standard android app when using it for activesync/exchange.
It doesn't display email properly and doesn't have message advance and back icons. You have to open the menu to get to them.
Does anyone know of a way to replace it?
You could just install a different email app. I hear good things about K-9 Mail (have not tried personally).
I actually think the standard android email app is pretty bad for Exchange, since its meeting invites do not show time or place directly.
I've used k-9 for imap connections, but it won't do an activesync connection to sync my contacts and calendar, unless there's a new version that does that.
I switched back to "Enhanced Email".
I couldn't find a way to change the ringtone in the one that came with the phone.
I also didn't like that you couldn't move back and forth through the messages like mentioned above.
I see Enhanced Email is $9.99 in Google Play.
I got it for free when it was the app of the day for Amazon.
I didn't know there were any alternatives other than Touchdown.
I'll give it a try.
Thanks.
I fully agree with you.
I already complained a month ago to htc for the lack of html support for example.
They escalated it to their technical support with no answer yet.

I have three different activesync acounts on my htc one, and none of them display hmtl.
Also, the attachment don't display from the mail client. You have to download them and open them directly from a viewer app.
Weird. It works on my exchange activesync account. See attached.
Attachments work fine too.

Its definitely a bug in your email app since it works for me and other android phones. I would suggest removing the account and adding back if you havent tried that already. I would also factory reset and see if it fixes. if nothing, the only option is to get a replacement.

Thanks for the Info and efforts.
I did several factory resets with no change.
I also already had the firmware updated with no change.
I asked htc support about that and they escalated it still with no answer for more than a month.
Yet, when I enter an account which is not my exchange server like Gmail and such, I do get html support. That's why I figured the issue is related top my exchange server version...

[Q] Is corporate calendar working on JB 4.2

Has anyone been able to get corporate calendar (exchange) syncing properly on any JB 4.2?
If yes which ROM and GAPPS have been used?
Any help to further debug this issue would be highly appreciated.
OLD POST:
I just flashed JEDI SoA (wiped System/Factory/Cache/Dalvik) and everything is working fine.
I successfully configured my Exchange account ... emails and contacts are sync without any problem but nothing appears in the calendar.
I forced a sync of the calender under Settings/Accounts ... no errors ... but still nothing in the Calendar.
I also tried installing Orthus 8 and I'm getting the same problem.
Under Calendar -> Setting -> Account I see a calendar for my Gmail account but nothing under the corporate one

same issue on Gnex.
I'm having the same issue on my Gnex, already on 2 different 4.2.2 ROMs. Corporate email and contacts are set up properly, but there is no Corporate Calendar in the "calendars to display" of Calendar settings. Under sync all 3 appear, calendar mail and contacts. I tried Slimbean and now on JBSourcery 5.1, both with custom (from the devs side) gapps. Could the gapps package be the fault? When I installed another 4.2.2 ROM, I installed the oficial gapps package for 4.2.2 and calendar sync was present. What apps/services are responsible for the corporate calendar sync ?

Ivan.

Initially I was using Superlite Superfast (vicom Rutumax 4.1.2) ... I'm still using as my daily drive.
Then I installed Jelly Jedi and I also tried Ortus.
Anyway before flashing the new ROM I always perform a "Wipe system" + "Factory reset" (at least 2x).
Exchange works fine on Superlite Superfast 4.1.2 (email + contact + calendar).
I never managed to get any 4.2.2 to work with Calendar ... Emails and Contacts worked initially and then stopped working after a while.
Let me try one more time ...
Has anyone been able to get corporate calendar (exchange) syncing properly on any JB 4.2?
If yes which ROM and GAPPS have been used?
If no ... is this a well know problem of JB 4.2?
Is this a ROM or GAPPS problem?
Thanks

I tried and didn't work. Email are fine but still nothing in the calendar.
Looking around I noticed that my Calendar apparently is working properly only on the distribution using Stock Exchange (SecExchange.apk) vs Exchange2.apk.
Could this be the reason?

Thanks snigel, followed the suggestion and worked. During the setup of the exchange account I left the frequency on "push" and the calendar was properly populated. I then changed the setting to manual and the calendar still show the exchange account in the list to sync.
