I don't know what's going on with my phone. Its blurred within one week.
I was playing air control lite, its got blurred in the game, then exited game, home screen and lock screen also blurred.
Its back to normal after restart.
there is no problem at all when play big game for one hour like modern combat 2.

Return, get new one. People tend to look for fix when they can't return their device back.

Thanks. I got this phone since the 1st day of release, 19th June, nearly 3 months now.
And just did s off and rooted few days ago. I dont know whether able to rerun it back?
That happened to me, and got no responses.
I reflashed my ROM back to stop and it fixed it.
I think it's because of an OC'd GPU.
It's a gpu bug after latest update.. Your phone is fine it's a know problem with certain games...
Thank you.

Cool. Thought you got it within one week ok
I've had a similar issue with an HTC S710 years ago (no custom roms or anything). I could see even less on the screen; it would be covered in vertical lines in all kinds of colors! The cause was most probably the phone overheating from using intensive apps* while in direct sunlight. I received a free replacement unit from HTC.
*: Tomtom at the time was way too heavy for such a weak phone.

This is a bug with HTC's 1.45.xxx.x ROMs.
Try to play Cordy & you will get the same bluriness or the phone will even hang. HTC has to fix this issue with an update!
I am having same problem. I am a real noob and have done nothing to my phone. When playing ANY game my screen is blurred and I lose graphics. My phone is one week old and I am going for warranty replacement.
Sent from my HTC Sensation Z710e using XDA App
This happened to me while I was Playing Samurai II. Really weird stuff.
I got my A510 two days ago and after my initial delight with the device dissipated I got into testing it a bit. In 12 hours of testing (playing back medium res video on loop) I had two complete freezes requiring a hard reset. I was using Mobo player. This is just not acceptable for me so I'm sending it back today. Looking for a replacement tablet there's nothing that really fits the bill. The TF300 is very similar and I would go for that were it not for the silly speaker placement that gives imbalanced, mono sound when playing back video/audio.
Essentially, I want the A510 but without the freezing problems so my question is whether I just got unlucky with a bad device or if this is a problem common to this tablet (or indeed the Tegra chip in general). The device does heat up quite a bit but that in and of itself is not a major issue to me if it's not the root cause of the crashing. If it's a known problem is there any chance Acer will fix it in later batches of the tablet?
The A700 is a little outside my budget but I would pay the extra €70 if I could be sure it didn't have similar issues so if anyone has rigorously tested both models and can give any feedback as to the reliability of each I'd love to hear it.

Well, I bought an Iconia A510 and experienced the touch screen issues during the very first minutes of usage. I sent it back to Acer for assistance twice in a month. After a touch screen and a motherboard replacement still the problem hasn't been solved.
While I was waiting for the A510 to be fixed, I ordered a brand new A700 from Amazon.
I would have sold the A510 if the A700 had satisfied me.
The touch screen issues were almost absent, though it happened a few times to the screen to become unresponsive. The heat on the lower-right corner was there and present. I experienced a couple of reboots too (expecially during high demanding 3D games).
Due to the higher resolution, a few games didn't run as smooth as on the A510.
Watching the movies was a very pleasant experience. The screen was really great as well as the stereo output coming out from two separate and well positioned speakers.
While I was impressed with the Iconia A700, I resolved to return it back to Amazon because I realised that the only benefit I would have had from the new model was the screen resolution.
The A700 inherited all other major issues affecting the A510 (touch screen, heat and reboots).
It could be that I received a defective device. Still I haven't read very positive feedback on the A700.
Thanks. Looks like yet another missed opportunity then. As a matter of interest if your A501 is still misbehaving when you get it back, what do you plan to do?

Well, the tablet is in my hands already and like I said in my previous post it is still misbehaving. I am eagerly waiting for the next OTA to be released. There are reports that the touch screen issues have been resolved in which case I am going to keep it.
I will give it to my little boy otherwise.
Since he repeatedly bangs on the screen as long as it shows anything that he likes, I am pretty much sure he won't notice any lag on the touch screen responsiveness!
my a510 freezes too. totally randomly...black and white screen, or gray.
and then the only way is to force rebbot manually with poweroff.
i got my one replaced too, but still find this frezees...or simple app crashes...or lags
i opened a similar thread...but no answers. my firmware is italian 1044.00 wwgen1
@slrvboooh
what's your firmware build?
Hey everybody,
Got my GNote 10.1 yesterday and I had a blast last night (only had lil bit of sleep, and it continues tonight again). Order from Amazon two weeks ago, it got to my peeps in Miami last week, and it got to Belize 2 days ago.
What a difference compared to my previous ThinkPad tablet. It's really smooth and that's because I haven't tried my art apps yet. Hopefully Sketchbook Pro works better on this tab. Few questions tho:
1. Has anybody noticed that sometimes the tablet locks on pen only? This morning I had to restart the machine because it was only registering pen and touches every now and again. And I know, the pen was not close to the screen (it was right on my desk). Just want to know if this was isolated or I'll be having this intermittently.
2. I see my tablet came already with ICS 4.0.4 IMM76D.N8013UEALGB. I thought there a later firmware update, but I saw the thread that somehow it was pulled. My question is, I thought the tablet shipped with an earlier build number. Can it be a case where Amazon sent me an Open Box product, refurbished, or a tab that was previously owned and updated? The tablet box had both of its seals at the bottom of it torn but the box passed thru so many hands that I will never know if Amazon sent the box like that.
Thanks for reading, and glad being part of this community.

Welcome on board! Glad you are enjoying your new Note.
1. This should not happen, I have only experienced this when the pen is near the screen as it should be.
2. If the seals were damaged, it is quite probable that it is a returned unit possibly due to the fault you described and the fact that the firmware has been upgraded.
If I were you, I would not take any chances and get the unit changed. The problems you described could be due to the firmware which is why it seems to have been pulled by Samsung.

I contacted Amazon and the CSR says that the product is spanking new and I'm the first customer. I just bought it and had for only over a day, and if I want I can return it, but I live all the way in Belize and it's kinda pricey to Fedex stuff out to the US that way. Hopefully the screen freezing and not responding too well to touch (but the pen) was just momentary and is not a real issue. Having an updated firmware was kinda surprising to me too.
Thanks dude for the answers and the welcome.

Hey, Ron. Mine came with 4.04, and my seals were in tact, but nearly severed during shipping. There were a hundred little pieces of plastic on the tablet - if those were in tact I think you're safe that it is indeed new. Amazon doesn't ship used or refurbished unless it is a "Warehouse Deal". Any item bought through the regular site and sold by Amazon will be new.
I am unclear as to what you mean by "locks" in item 1. Please elaborate.

BTW, Congrats! Hope you enjoy the tab. I love it. Butter smooth in comparison to the TPT.

Hey dude!
Thanks for the welcome and thanks for the clarification. When I said "the screen locks..." I meant that the screen did not respond to touch; only to pen input. And as far I know I have not seen a pen-only input option on the tablet so I knew something wasn't right. But anyways, it hasn't done it since, so I think I'm safe.
Now, with the seals broken, it is possible that shipping did that, or Customs in the US, or the shipping company from Miami to Belize, or Customs in Belize... Probably I'll never know. However, I didn't see no hundreds of lil pieces of plastic in my box. Do you mean the shipping box or the Samsung tablet box? My shipping box had those air pockets sort of thing they put in boxes to absorb shocks. My Sammy box had nothing but the tablet on top.
Ron
But my tablet was protected with thin transparent plastic foils on the tablet, large ones and small ones, on the corners, ... If they were there (front and back) it is quite unprobable that someone already used the phone.
The problem of the non-responsive touch screen sounds like a modified rom (see the section here), did you root the device and if yes, how?

Yeah, the tablet had litle transparent soft plastic stickers (covers) on the front, edges and back (if that is what you meant). My tablet is unrooted. I'm not that naive to technology and I'm quite a fanatic and deal with gadgets pretty well; but I haven't gathered the guts and enough research to root the tablet.
I read that few of them have been bricked and that there are issues when upgrading. So, I think I'll either pass or wait.
Thanks

What I meant by pieces of plastic is all the protective stickers covering the tab. There were so many that I was still finding them days later.
I have the Galaxy Tab 2 7.0, rooted with 4.0.4, and have not had any problems with it for the most part.
I recently downloaded Sketchbook Express to see how well the tablet could handle drawing. It handles it very well with one exception: the closer you get to drawing at a 45* angle, the more wavy the lines get. If I quickly swipe in that direction, it straightens out, but the slower I go, the more pronounced the waves or zig zags get. This happens using any of my fingers, the $20 Rocketfish stylus, and the $30 Wacom Bamboo stylus. All attempted on a freshly cleaned screen. I've also tried different apps with the same result. This guy had the same issue, as have others from what research I could pull up, but outside of unhelpful answers of "it's your stylus" (it's not), they all seem to have given up on getting help.
I've tried these apps on my friend's Evo 4G 3D, running Android 4.0.3, and had the same issue. I then tried on my rooted Xperia Play running Android 2.3.3 Gingerbread, and did not have this issue. I'm not entirely convinced it's an OS version that's making the difference, but I'm not able to find much information about the screens these devices use outside of "capacitive touch". I did learn that these screens use the corners to determine the location of input being received, so maybe moving directly in the direction of a corner is causing it to mess up?
Long story short, my questions are thus: is there any way to fix, calibrate, or compensate for this issue? Is it the screen, a hardware issue, or something else? Is there anything I can do?
Thanks for your time.

The problem is the digitizer. It's cheap. I think all of the g tabs have this issue. Mine is terrible drawing diagonal lines and even scrolling in landscape mode is choppy. Only way around it from what I can tell is to apply more finger surface area. That seems to fix it. But since you're using a stylus that's not possible. If you find a solution to calibrate the digitizer, please let me know!
I have the same exact problem and the same exact request. There must be some option to increase sensitivity to at least minimize this effect. It's the only flaw I can find on this otherwise wonderful device.
And honestly, for the prize it cost, I would expect this not to exist. But... I have it now and would like to be able to use it in it's full extent and power.
dammit
Nice to know I'm not the only one who notice that, but it's crazy how my finger seems preciser than my pen and even more, that in my Galaxy S the pen works perfectly. I was so happy to use some drawing apps on the tab but when I tried...
I tried in my Tab 7 2, then I'll try on my uncle's 10.1 just to check.
hello all,
just to report the same issue. i have same problem with my samsung galaxy tab 2 7" like you all here. i get this problem since the first time i bought it (about a month ago). drawing the lines and reading in landscape mode is choppy :crying: same as MrHyde03 said. i have been tested my cousin's tablet to draw diagonal line for comparison, he has galaxy tab p1000. and the line result i get, though his tab has wavy line too, but mine has more wavy line than his tablet. i didn't noticed his tablet has so wavy line, just a little. i did it with my finger.
i hope this issue can be fixed later.
could be a solution
I don't know if it's just for marketing or what, but maybe the original Samsung stylus is better for these screens.
I wish someone could certify this...
I bave The Same Problem... Vawy diagonal and arcs. The same pens and fingers works fine on my Asus TF 101...

Hi guys, I have the same problem. Horrible response when i draw with a (cheap) stylus and perfect when i do it with my fingers. Has anyone tried adonit jot pro or Dagi ??? Maybe they increase the contact area and it solves the problem. If so, please tell us!!!
Thanks for reading and waiting for a solution.
I know this is an old post, but I can't just abandon my own thread! I've done quite a bit of research on this since making this post, and sadly, it's the way the screen is. Strange that my Xperia Play and Galaxy S3 phones can do this, but the Tab 2 was given such a cheap screen. I ended up selling it and putting the money towards a Note 10.1 with S-pen, which works as I would expect it to.
Hey guys, I want to buy a "defective" OPO for 100$. The sellers told me that a part of the touchscreen (about 13%) is not working. He says it works every once in a while but it is really rare. I was wondering if I would be able to fix this trough a Kernel or a ROM update (he runs CM12S) or if I need to change the screen completely. The guy says he had the phone for 2 months and he hasn't try to fix it because he has an iPhone (LOL)

Don't think how low u have to pay for opo but must think is it usable
Nearly 20% users complaining about touch issues like
1)ghost touch
2)unresponsive screen etc
http://forum.xda-developers.com/oneplus-one/help/ghost-touches-invisible-finger-t2832822
OPO tried to solve this by firmware updates but they still not fully able to manage it
New firmware with improved kernel solved lot more touch issues but draining battery a lot for most people's
So its u r decision buy or not to buy but three possibilities are
1) buy if u don't care about u r money if problem not got solved
2)buy if screen problem is not due to any hardware issues because if yes u have to replace whole screen which cost 200$
3)if its software problem then u should know most of android rooting/ flashing /custom roms/custom kernels to recover problems
If its software problem then these are some solution

I bought an oneplus one with a broken screen on ebay.
Bought an replacement display with frame and some cheap tools for 50€ on aliexpress.
Replaced the broken screen + frame withing one hour. It was my first attempt to open up a smartphone ever.
Only problematic part was the earpiece, which I almost destroyed.
And also the lower antenna (which is fixed with double sided adhesive tape) bent a little bit.
But besides that it was very easy to dismantle the Oneplus One and to replace the screen/frame combo.
Compared to my other One the new screen looks absolutely identical. Only the earpiece grille is slightly different.
So. My conclusion. If your are able to unscrew a smartphone and are not completely lacking fine motoric skills, you can have a cheap Oneplus One. Watch the tutorials vids on youtube and the photos on ifixit.
cheers!
Edit:
Ah and yes. With my One the screen was shattered and not working.
So I have to agree to my previous speaker. It could also be some other part of the hardware not working. It's always a risk. But I assume, that by replacing the whole screen/frame, probably the digitizer problems should be solved.

I also wanted to mention that I also experienced ghost touch issues with my first Oneplus One.
Thats why I orderd a replacement screen in the first place. Then, in the meantime, until the display arrived, Oneplus released a firmware update and my ghost touch issues vanished.
But. I never had parts completely not responding on my screen. It was "only" a ghost touch issue.
i have it

no I can't there is a small bar on the right that is not working
Probably a broken digitizer. I.'ve never read of anybody fixing this with a Software update. On the other hand, I'm not an expert...
