So glad to have the HTC Sensation India launch announced by HTC yesterday!!
Planning to buy one after having cherished the timeless, ageless wonderphone HTC HD2 till date, but also want to be careful about general issues that you friends (current users of HTC Sensation) might have experienced so far.
Please share your valuable experience, friends!
P.S.: The HTC Sensation announced for India is only the 3G variant, and not the 4G one launched in the western worlds.
Thanks and Regards,
Mayur Dave.

Had ordered mine @Letsbuy last saturday. Expecting it to be delivered anytime now (it is with the courier company as per their records). Cost me INR 29299.
wait is killing me really
Got mine from ebay @29999/- its awesome to have sensation in ur hands....best phone so far..
Thanks Friends for your reply!
I have been reading a lot about the HTC Sensation 'Death Grip' issue that existed bigtime with the iPhone 4 that was launched.
But following a thread here in this section, people are divided over the existence of the 'Death Grip' issue. And I have come to the conclusion that the issue does not exist on every HTC Sensation handset. If it exists for one user who bought this phone, it may not exist on the next handset purchased and vice versa.
Do share your experience on the reported issue when you get your respective HTC Sensation handsets.
Thanks and Regards,
Mayur R. Dave.
No issues here.. its solid as a rock.. u know i am not even missing rooting it.. as the stock is strong...
Cool!

Congratulations Prateek for the 'Death-grip' bug-free phone you are enjoying! Thanks for your feedback.
Shall continue to wait to hear the experience from our two other friends who have/shall have the HTC Sensation.

Just to clear things up - the death grip on the iPhone 4 drops your calls, and it occurs while holding your Phone in a normal manner.
This isn't a cause of concern on the Sensation. You have to grope it, not so much grip it, around the upper half of the phone. This almost decimates your WiFi signal, not the cellular signal. Or even lay it completely flat on your palm (it works just fine lying on a table as seen in numerous videos).

I got mine this evening. Here are the first impressions:
1. Device is mind-blowingly beautiful! It is the katrina Kaif of the mobile phone world!
2. Its incredibly slim but at the same time feels very well built!
3. The screen is just awesome! qHD resolution makes it possible to read even the smallest of letters! The colors too are pretty good. I just cant even imagine how good the sAMOLED+ of S2 must be, given that it is percieved to be better looking than S-LCD.
4. It is fast! And I mean it. i was up an running in 5 mins, and the phone set up all the wifi and network settings (I have a gprs connection) in no time. Browing on wifi was pure bliss.
5. Ran about 15-16 applications one after another. No problems there.
6. Found an annoying issue! Sometimes the phone shuts down after taking a picture! But holding off for now as it may be because battery was at low levels.
7. The infamous death grip is NOT there on my phone! Tried to replicate that but wifi holded very well. In the worst case it just dropped one bar! The speed was excellent (though I didnt try playing any youtube videos etc) Will do more testing/playing tomorrow.
8. Installed Quadrant. Score came out a paltry 1888! Doesnt mean much as I didnt feel any lags while so many apps were running. Even the 3-d carousal effect of the homescreens is running quite easily on my phone.
So only one issue so far - Phone switching off after using camera sometimes!

Yet to experience it, have taken approx 50 odd photos in different conditions to check which camera setting will produce good results..
EDIT
I had this weird thing this morning. I had put my phone on charging last night.. this morning when i woke up i saw the LED turned Green so i Unplugged the charger,, and tried to turn the screen on.. but no luck.. I had to take out the battery and re-insert.. and it showed that the battery level was 63%.. funny.. as it was on charge for almost 7 hours and it did show a green led...
Another thing.. so I put it back on charged.. it charged pretty fast uptill 99% then took almost hald an hour to get to 100% from there...
Any ideas.. any similar experienes?

Actually there is a page here on xda on modern batteries behavior. Once fully charged, they are expected to keep on draining a little even if charger is plugged. this is supposed to protect overcharging/increase life etc. you can search and read it more in detail.
But drain to 63% is fishy!
I left mine for overnight charging (unplugged after about 8 hours - this was the first full charge). Played with the phone for about 4 hours in the morning (transfer of contacts from my earlier HTC Touch Diamond, trnasfer of about 4 GB of music and photos, downloaded few apps from market, wifi ON all the time, Bluetooth ON all the time, took a few snaps of my daughter. After that my battery indicator was showing 80%+ charge. Seems excellent!

Take the Quadrant scores with a grain of salt. The MSM8260 is an asynchronous processor and Quadrant can't recognize that.
just bought mine ..............funny thing is i found dust under the screen in first 3 htc sensation handsets opened by the retailer so i checked the fourth one and bought it,it is also having tiny dust particle in it........so it seems when checked throughly there is some dust beneth the screen in most of the sensation handsets available rightnow......some r visible in grey/black background and some in white background..........its very annoying when we pay 30k and facing with these issues............

Could you tell me what City and Shop you bought it from? The shopkeepers I spoke to here said any problem faced after opening the box would have to be dealt with by contacting the HTC Tech Support. There wouldn't be any considerations about these things from their side.
One of the noobs suggested I don't buy the Phone if there was a likelihood of so many problems... great suggestion (/sarcasm) I think I might've scared him a bit though O
Everything has been perfect for me so far. The death grip situation hasn't affected me, I'm not sure what others are doing or how they hold their phones. Hope you like it as much as I do!

Hey Friends!
Seems like this thread has come alive with India getting this phone launched here!!
Well, since I was the creator of this thread, and after reading your reviews about the HTC Sensation, I decided to write to HTC about this and to get to know more about the 'Wifi and BT signal issues in landscape mode'.
So on the HTC India webpage, under Support tab is where I wrote an e-mail to them.
3 days later, they replied by e-mail, in detail, which I would summarize as follows:
a. They thanked and all that and said that they tried calling me but I was not reachable on my cell phone! Funny since no one from my known friends/contacts have told me that since ages. I also have 'Missed call alert' service activated by my operator, in case I was not reachable. Now this is the beginning of the funny explanation by HTC.
b. They said that holding the phone in landscape mode 'should not' make the phone behave weird in any ways. But further they suggested that if the HTC Sensation behaves so, please spread out your fingers to let the antennas not be covered completely and such crap.
Finally, their response shows their fear for committing that the HTC Sensation is free from the widely-reported issue. Their language brings out their lack of confidence and so I wouldn't take the chance to buy the HTC Sensation, even though I was greatly desirous of buying it!
HTC HD2 shall continue to be my phone!
Thanks and Regards,
Mayur Dave.
P.S.: The 'dust under the screen' was another brilliant issue we've found here!
I've had the N1 for a long time now. My biggest complaint that I can't deal with anymore is the touch screen. I've been eyeing the Sensation for awhile now. For those of you that upgraded from the N1 did you regret it? What are you're thoughts on the Sensation compared to the N1. Other than the obvious unlocked boot loader.
I've heard there are touch screen issues are these as severe as the N1's?
The nexus one had touchscreen issues?
If you used to fingers and crossed axis it would get confused left to right making it almost impossible to play games using virtual controllers. Intermittantly they will wig out and lose touch screen calibration. You would touch one part and it would read it almost a half inch off. Only work around for the calibration is to lock the screen than unlock it. This is what's driving me nuts.

Anyway, I came from a nexus one and I haven't had any touchscreen issues with my sensation. Personally im very happy with the phone so far. The only complaint I have so far is I really miss my trackball notifications, and of course the locked bootloader (but in time the second will change). Other then those, I cant really think of anything else.

yeah, the sensation has proper multitouch too, no more cross axis issues.
I had the awesome nexus one with very few issues and I haven't had any touchscreen issues with my Sensation! Just some lag in Sense...
I have since given my cherished n1 to my wife. She just wants my games lol....
Yes the touchscreen works finally but besides that I would wait until the bootloader is unlocked. I jumped in because of the 148 price at wally mart. Compared to what I had initially paid for the N1, I think upgrading to this baby is worth it for the price.
Do I miss my N1? Sure do, like the others said, trackball alert was a big thing for me. I miss looking across the room to see if I had missed a call or not from my charger. Also miss the weekly MIUI updates. Since the sensation, I haven't updated miui and I heard the lockscreen has been changed a bit from the normal ones. Makes me want to grab the n1 and start flashing the sucker....maybe just out of withdrawal lol....
The positives is that the phone looks and sounds great. Besides the low speaker volume in speakerphone mode and some other issues like the gallery and video quirks some users have come across. Do not get me wrong, I do NOT regret this phone at all. I just wish the s-off comes already lol.
Hey, I just bought this phone, I can't wait for it to arrive, but i just wanted to ask is there anything i need to know?? Any bad issues with this phone? I am going to root and install a custom rom at some point in the near future (if i get round to it).
I'm so excited at this phone is a huge upgrade for me... my last phone was the LG GT540
No issuses with phone othe than speaker not loud as my old phone which I's due to 2.3 which can be fixed once you flash.a custom rom don't keep it stock flash and enjoy cause there's some.really good roms out there that help battery last longer and make the phone prettier to look at. I like coredroid roms but theres also nice rooms that don't use sense ui which was nice to just youtube stuff.

Bluetooth sucks. Its a design flaw, don't expect good bt performance with this phone. Other than that its great.
For me, and I've heard from others, there is really only 2 things that bother me.
1.) My phone squeaks when you squeeze the bottom part, no idea why.. it's 100% brand new few days old.
2.) When unlocking by moving the ring up, I usually have to touch and drag it 3 times or so until it finally moves...
Otherwise the phone is awesome! The battery can get very hot while gaming though, you can really feel it, I rooted my phone, and it's overclocked so when I play a game for 10+ mins it gets so hot it almost feels like im touching a metal pole that has been in 100 degree heat for an hour.
Please hit thanks if I helped you! Just takes a click

It'll always happen as the case is separate from the phone itself. Mine creaks but I really couldn't care less
Mine doesn't creak nearly as much as it used to. So far I have no problems. I did notice the smallest amount of dust particles under the screen but it's literally almost impossible to see. However some people have posted some truly terrible pictures on here showing a crazy amount of dust.
This really is a superb phone.

First off, this is a good phone. But, unfortunately there is a couple of things wrong with it
I have come in direct contact with 5 different Sensations. Here's my experiences:
1. One of them had dust under the screen - I believe this is not an issue with new Sensations.
2. Two had a lousy power button - It becomes too soft and hard to press on some models. Lousy build quality there.
3. Two had the touchscreen issue - This is a serious one, but we have it fixed here on XDA... For the most part. Again, build quality?
4. Three creaked when pressed - My 5 year old nokia felt better under pressure. This is fixable with a larger battery.
5. Screens varied significantly - Don't know which screen I'd pick... Some had better viewing angles, some better contrast, or sharpness, or whatever...
6. Sense lagged more than I'd like on all of them - Maybe I want the impossible? No lag on my 1.5Ghz while scrolling through home screens? :|
7. WiFi death grip - I can live with this one.
I probably went into more detail than I should... Sorry
It's a good phone for the most part. I just expected way more from HTC (and for my money) and now I'm a bit disappointed...
Hi,
I made this video to demonstrate a rather serious Galaxy Note 10.1 Bug
that i've encountered on two devices, bought from two separate stores.
The first device was a Note 10.1 N8010 with Jelly Bean, the second (the
one on the video) is a Note 10.1 N8010 with Ice Cream Sandwitch.
Transcript:
Hi.
I have in front of me a brand new Galaxy Note 10.1.. its a WIFI-model
N8010. With brand new i mean i bought it a couple of hours ago--here is
the recepit.
I already bought a Galaxy Note 10.1, same type and model.. about 6
Months ago, but its touchscreen suffered from a very weird
touchscreen-bug that was somewhat difficult to reproduce. When I tried
to return the first model, the device went away for almost 3 months and
when I got it back the bug was still there.
Since I was using the device mainly for writing assignments and taking
notes (thats why i bought it in the first place) i gave it back and went
to another store to buy a new one, hoping that the first place will give
me my money back. I needed the device urgently and it was, like i said,
3 months and I had to make a decision.
Well, as it turns out, though, the new device, the one you can see here,
has the same bug.. and I'm going to demonstrate it now.
Right now, as you can see, the device is not in a sane state.. and the
display hasn't turned off since I started speaking. The 2, well, the 4
dots, here, here, here and here.. this one is shaking.. the 4 dots are
supposed to indicate touch activity but are rather ghost-dots caused by
mentioned bug. Here for example is another dot.. I can make several of
them.. I can use a couple of fingers.. and.. this dot is caused by my
hand, the other ones by said bug. I can't do anything right now.. I
can't press on any of these buttons.. I can't call the menu, I can't
switch the homescreen left or right.. I can't drag the.. this thing
here, whatever its name is.. touch input is pretty much impossible.
How do you cause this bug? It's pretty simple.. you roll the palm of
your hand over the display. I can demonstrate this.. I can already
demonstrate this on the lockscreen, doesn't matter.. now, there are 3
dots.. and again.. well, lets try that one again.. now we see 4 dots..
and I can't unlock the lockscreen with my finger. I can though do it
with my pen. Alright.. like i said, you roll the palm of your hand over
the display.. angle and corner don't matter.. current application in
the foreground don't matter either. When this state is active.. it's
going to be almost impossible, I already mentioned that, to use
touch-input.. and with almost I mean there are certain situations where
touch-input will partially work.. but in most cases it won't. Like
you've seen the pen works in this state.. and sometimes, but just
sometimes, it will reset said state. I'm not sure.. I'm still not able
to use touch properly.. yeah, i'm still not able but the pen still
works. Let's reproduce it one more time.
If you want to reset this state your only option is to turn off the
display.. there you go. This bug occurs on ICS and JB.. this device here
has ICS, thats 4.0.4 and my last device, the one that i wanted to give
back.. is running JB 4.1.2, i think. (...) This bug is a show stopper
for everyone who'd like to use this device for lots of writing.. and
it's also a trouble maker since the repair-guys have a hard time
reproducing it, even if you provide them with a comprehensive video.
Now, I hope this video will reach someone who has the necessary access..
because, i don't know, either I'm very, very lucky and get my hands on
two exceptional devices with the exact same bug or this affects the
whole batch or every such model.
I can show perhaps a couple of other apps if the device will let me..
which it won't right now.. Its probably time to use the pen. For
example S-note.. pen works.. touch doesn't.. it's the same story, it
doesn't depend on the application or lockscreen or mainscreen, whatever.
Let me repeat: In this state, when you see these dots, the display will
never dim or go to sleep.. so if you write something and you don't
realize that the device is in such a state.. and you go somewhere for a
couple of hours.. you will come back and you will see that the display
never turned itself off and that you lost lots of battery.
If you want to contact me, i provided my address below (...) thanks for
watching."

I don't know what kind of help anyone's going to be able to provide. It's either a s/w problem which if you've hard reset the device and it's still there indicates a h/w problem. There's been some strangeness on particular regional versions of s/w. For example, different S Note versions have had various problems and different versions are shipped in different regional ROMs. You said two Note's you've had have the same problem though which doesn't make sense if one was ICS and one JB which means they were manufactured at different times so not from the same batch. Are you using a case with magnets in it? Some people have reported strange display issues when the Note's near magnets which causes electromagnetic interference.
The Note's been out since August and sold in the millions and this is the first this type of issue's been reported. So, to your point, maybe there was a batch of bad displays that got out and all ended up in whatever region you live in. Or all versions of your region's s/w has some type of display driver bug. Mine (from August) has no touch issues either via the pen or capacitive touches and I enabled "show touch" in the developer's settings to test it. It's also a pretty obvious issue so if it were common others would have commented or posted also.
The latest 4.1.2 s/w for the N8010 is for the Nordic Countries and was released in March. From your accent I'm guessing you're in the EU. The Nordic ROM is multi-CSC so can be used on any EU N8010. You might want to try installing it via Odin to see if it changes anything.

No, what you've seen in the video was just taken out of the box. There was nothing close or attached, just a tablet and two laptops on a table. The problem was initially reproducible in two different cities on several separate addresses.

Yes.. and that was pretty much the only reason why I was so convinced that my device was faulty and went out to get another one in order to get back to work as soon as possible. When touches are shown, yes. Otherwise, hell no.. it took me months to figure out what was wrong. I blamed all possible things for the various gitches that were a direct result of this bug.. mostly the apps I was using. When the touch-input freezes started to occur on a daily basis I started to debug.. which isn't that productive when you're not root. In the end I stumbled over the "show touches" option and was lucky that such an option even exists.

Do you maybe know how to get in touch with samsung? Just in case the retail stores decide to give me a hard time..
I briefly experienced this issue while using my Note 10.1 in a place I don't usually use it (my brother's desk instead of my own). I was able to reproduce the issue many times by placing my palm on the screen just as in the video above.
Strangely enough, I haven't been able to reproduce the issue since that first time. I use my Note 10.1 in a number of different places (lecture halls, library, home desk, etc.), but can't seem to make it happen again.
I'm running a rooted, deodexed stock rom (4.1.2) on a NT-8013.
me too
Don't worry, you aren't crazy, I get this too.
I'm convinced its caused by pressure on the display components. My reasons are the following:
If i roll my palm across the screen relatively lightly (but still with enough pressure for the device to respond to normal touches) this never happens.
However as soon as i apply a littly more pressure I can replicate this problem every time. (To those reading thinking that I am putting an unreasonable amount of pressure on the device - I am not! I see people much more violent with their tablets day to day with no issue)
Furthermore, the more pressure I apply the longer the touches will stay after i remove my hand, suggesting that the device is kind of uncompressing.
Finally the area in which this is worst* there are some small LCD 'Mura' - that is light spots on the screen you can only see from some angles, these are normally the result of pressure.
I dont know about you guys but my note is pretty creaky, I would guess that there simply isnt enough rigidity to protect the screen components from stresses caused by pushing down on the device. (Note that i dont get this problem usually unless the device is sitting flat on its back.)
Dont get my wrong, I love my note and these issues are fortunately only an uncommon annoyance for me during typical use. But, this is kind of ****ty build quality and i will have reservations about buying another device from samsung.
*(e.g. if i roll my hand across the screen this is the most common area for a touch to 'stick')

Mine too. It feels cheap and the only reason I bought it is because of the pen.

What's your typical use? My typical use was writing and said bug made that very inconvenient. It basically prevented me from using touch-input after writing only a couple of lines..
Maybe a short update: I returned the second device, got my money back, and sent the first device once again to $REPAIR_GUYS, this time with a link to the video above.
I'm also thinking about buying a Note 8 if I get refund for the first device.
Bottom line: The tablet was supposed to replace all the cumbersome paper I have to deliver every week and I'm out of a working device since end of january. A huge waste of money, time, time and time.

Yeah if it wasn't for the pen I bet most people would have gone for something more sturdy/better screen/stock android.
It literally is the only device which can do annotation anywhere near properly though so Its a matter of priorities.

Typical use has been taking lecture notes for several hours a day, managed a years worth of university with it, and while its not perfect
it did save my back from having to lug around lots of books and notes.
I would guess that this issue is present on all devices, just at differing scales. Hopefully you can find one where it is at a level that doesn't
bother you, though I wouldn't blame you for giving up and avoiding Samsung from now on, must be a right pain.

I would say that if you are planning on using the note 8 for lots of writing, maybe try it in store first, its probably way too small for any prolonged period, I find the 10.1 cramped and I have relatively small hands/writing. (Not helped by the fact the pen digitizer gets weird towards the edges of the screen)
Anyways, good luck!

I never really used the whole screen for writing for various reasons:
1. the pen is not precise somewhere around the middle of the screen
2. the pen is not precise at the edges (as you mentioned)
Reason 2 is something all wacom digitizers seem to share (I remember watching a guy on youtube demonstrating the "edge-effect" on the note and two other, professional wacom devices), reason 1 I can't explain.
Anyway, I always ended up just using the upper half of the screen and that's basically the main reason why I think it wouldn't make much of a difference. But on the other hand my gut tells me that you could be right.
Right now I can't shake the feeling that the note is just some random entity in Samsung's massive brute-force output. Never mind the details or the quality, after 5 different pen-tablets the fifth iteration will be just fine. Sounds a lot like Agile SW development.. just with hardware.
Same problem, demonstrated by someone else:
Have two tablets stock and no root. I have none of the described bugs and these 2 tablets are solid and very well built. Solid as any tab that I have owned. That is a strange problem and probable a batch built on Friday about quiting time.
None of those issues could have been reproduced on my Note 10.1 (GT-N8000) from Germany. Mine was bought in October 2012.
Sorry to hear that you have gotten two faulty devices :-/

I have went through 3 of these tablets, ended returning each one to best buy. I absolutely love it for drawing and sketching....until the screens bugged up. All three of mine where the gray version, I'm tempted to pick up a white and give it a try.
Btw ...the second video posted in this thread is mine. :cyclops:
Interesting thread, after reading it I decided to test mine and it's not suffering with that bug, I'm in the UK and brought it 2 months ago, it's the grey variant

Yep, all three had the same issue.
At first I thought the screen bug was from the tablet getting too hot while sketching (SketchBook). The tablet was pretty warm, not uncomfortable to touch or anything. Possibly overheating?
While streaming Netflix, the touch dots would randomly appear and not go away. The tablet wasn't warm like before when I was sketching and it wasn't even being touched.
Still tempted to try another one, i did love it when it was working and there aren't any other android devices sporting the wacom digitizer
Update:
After almost four months, some Samsung technician/representative reluctantly decided to issue a refund. Reluctantly because, and I quote, out of 100 times he tried to reproduce the bug demonstrated in not one but two videos.. he succeeded only once.
Not really satisfying but, oh well, if they dont give a f.., I won't either.
Any updates
Hi
I bought this Note for my girlfriend as a Christmas gift. She's loaded a few apps and mainly uses it to look up stuff on the web, FaceBook and things like that. The issue is the screen starts twitcihing and types random letters and will switch pges and change settings. I did a factory reset via the reset option in the settings tab. That did not help. I will post a video tonight showing the issue. Are there any other option out there??!!
Thanks

Touchscreen fixed with better USB cord on Note 10.1 2014
I have the same issue on Note 10.1 2014 SM-P605.
I've tried changing apps, dozens of keyboard settings, device covers, screen protectors, pen input, finger input, touching the corners to recalibrate, turning the divice upside down, locking, unlocking, running different tabs in chrome...way too much time on this issue.
Finally I found the cause.
A cheap monoprice USB cable attached will produce the problem 100% of the time.
Using a heafty stock USB cable works 100% of the time.
I spent three days setting up this new tablet. And it worked flawlessly, until the last day when I moved to a new room.
Now I'm loving it again.
i have problem in touch in several flashing my touch not working anymore anyone can spare me a helping hand to solve this issue sorry for my bad
So, I've had my Nexus 5 since November 6th, and like most phones it gets warm when doing anything intensive. Now, I don't play very many games and really nothing too demanding. Perhaps the primary game I play which seems to warm my device up is the Simpsons Tapped Out game. All things aside, I never felt that my device got "too" warm. Battery temp never went above 100 F (37.7C) that I was able to determine, however there was most certainly a "spot" on the back located just below the camera and dead center of the device. This spot was mirrored onto the LCD area as well. Again, I never thought too much of it, however Friday night (November 16th) I noticed that when the screen was on, but showing a black or similarly dark background there was now a blue-ish circular / oval shape essentially "burned" into the screen. I don't know how else to describe it. This spot coincides directly with the location of the RAM / CPU combination on the internal board.
So, my question, has anyone else experienced distortion of their screen? Presently, while noticeable on dark screens, it's not overly damaging. However, I fear that continued normal use of the device may cause cumulative damage. I plan on contacting Google direct on Wednesday when I have some time due to work, but I'm also worried that due to the RAM / CPU placement, this may be a bigger issue than 1 unlucky phone. Perhaps improper heat shielding?
For the record, I am using the images from http://www.ifixit.com/Teardown/Nexus+5+Teardown/19016 to make my assumptions and conclusions
I appreciate any and all constructive comments!
My one got the same problem, just ordered replacement.
Maybe, the glue behind the glass had dried faster due to the higher temperature in that portion of the screen, causing a different light transmission just there, i think imho.

omg.. what a disaster of phone. If this is true then ALL of the screens will get like that if the user makes some decent use of the phone to play or so.

First I've heard of it is right here and people have had plenty of time to get there phone's hot so I doubt it.

I highly doubt that there are different revisions of the glue behind the screen, so if one is bad, then all the nexus 5 until this was spotted will have it bad too..

Don't do that, if this starts happening to everyone, they WILL have to rma everyone's nexus 5 out there without asking.
This is by far the major problem of this phone. A true pain for google.
Been a busy day at work! Got my contact into Google as of now. Here's a pic for anyone curious
It seems definitely that the overheating of the cpu has modified the structure of the lower layer of the lcd panel and the backlight has a different effect in that part of the screen.

Are you 100% stock? i played Dead trigger 2 and TR2 yesterday for like 3 hours non stop the back of the phone was pretty warm but not blazing hot i check my screen using the app called LCD tester and i see no spots like on your device
if your 100% stock google added thermal limiting to the CPU witch could have prevented this.
I don't think it's the glue. It's probably just a bad CPU. Not all nexus 5 are created equal. Mine barely gets warm from playing 3d intensive games while on the charger so I'd just RMA yours.

Like my device. Gets warm but not hot. If your 100% stock Google added thermal limiting I think it was due to this and not burning out the CPU

Hello i just wanted to say that i also have this problem though i do not have the blue spot where the cpu and the ram are located but just above the icon bar. How is this possible? Does the battery also get that hot?

Mine has this too but slightly lower and to the left.. Did you ever get an answer/ replacement from Google??

To find out if it is screen burn, try standard screen burn reversal techniques. If it doesn't reverse at all, it's not burn
Bump, does anybody have an idea what this is? I'm considering an exchange b/c of this blue spot.. The spot seems to not be getting any bigger but it's still bugging me

I know this is a dinosaur post that Im digging up but I have a similar issue and couldnt find much info on it.
Basically my Nexus 5 took a really bad fall from someone elses hand and the screen was fine except for a bit of light bleed and colour distortion which went away in the next morning
Now if I use a 2A charger or if I play on it for too long, screen gets a pinkish hue and a spot like this appears and the phone goes a bit hot but it goes back to normal later
doesnt always appear under normal use or if I use a 1A charger
Is this an LCD problem, overheating issue of cpu, motherboard issue or display ribbon?
