[Q] Refurb? How can i find the RTN? - HTC One S

I was provided with a replacement one s by Tmo and I can't tell if it is a refurb or not. The ##RTN# method for finding the RTN file isn't working for me, nor is the "launcher pro post a short cut to hidden menu" (http://www.groovypost.com/howto/howto/access-hidden-menu-android-phone/) method.
I'd be grateful for any other means.
Thanks!
Trix

Does it matter much? If it feels solid who cares. I've been told new but always suspect refurbished mainly because they never come with back covers ( at least not on the last three HTC devices I've had)
Cheers

How much T-Mobile charges to get the screen fixed

I have PHP plan wondering how much it cost to fix the screen and are their any cheaper places. I check T-Mobile can't find it and I never used a third party. Has anyone used any other company than T-Mobile? Thank you for your time and all help appreciated

PHP is insurance. They send you a new device, not repair yours. I dont remember the exact pricing, but i think its about $120.
Damn I rather just have the screen repaired oh well. Thanks time call them any idea how long it takes

They say 14days and your deductible is $130.
http://www.phoneclaim.com/t-mobile-program
Not sure if this will do it but it may and its only 70$.

Edit: After thinking about it, you would need the LCD not the touch. I did not see any but if you look a bit harder then I did you may find them. But let us know what you do.

I talked to one of the reps and they said the only way they could change your color is if your original color is out of stock /:
Idk I know standard insurance with a defective product you have to send in the older model. Idk about going through asurion if I pay $130 they should send a whole new phone.

[Q] Where can I buy a genuine HTC back cover?

I dropped my sensation on a concrete floor and have managed to shatter the plastic on the back cover. Anyone know where I could purchase a genuine HTC back cover plate? I'm live in the uk. will htc send me one if i contact them, if so what email address or phone number should i contact them on?
Look forward to the reply
Regards
Hayden

What a douche. It took you more time and board space to give a smart-ass answer than to just give him/her the number. What if you walk up to someone on the street and asked for the time, only for them to tell you "Well, I would give it to you, but I would rather you search for it, since it is so easy to find." I would probably call you a dickhead and tell you I did search for it, but apparently people, and the interaction that goes along with it, are not sources of information anymore and are no good for society.
You could have just not gave him the number and just the information about the back cover, but instead you decided to be a douche. Think about it.
Here you go, try this number in the UK:

My situation wad worse .. dropped it and broke the screen along with the back casing. I sent it back in to get the screen replaced (160) and also ask for a replacement casing but they said only if I can proof that there is something wrong with the original (non-cosmetic issues only). So I told them wifi death grip causes by the casing .. a week later I received the new case .. of course this was tmous htc .. not sure if they will give you one in uk

how about you use some common sense? looking up numbers online is pretty easy, asking here would take more time than searching for the number, and it only makes sense that when you go to HTC website the number will be there.
I ddnt want to sound like a douche but dude, this type of question is pretty easy to find an answer if you just look

HTC 1-Year Manufacturer Warranty

I just bought an HTC Panache and it came with the bad eMMC and bad screen. WOW the display is noticeably different from my MyTouch4G even when looking straight on.
Anyway, since it is still covered under HTC manu warranty, would I be able to send it in with the request of the new eMMC and the Sony display?
Who should I contact? I sent an e-mail to HTC and they're directing me to some third-party called PCD or something.
Has it worked for you? Should I just call them directly and see if I can talk them into something?

i bought my glacier off craigslist. In rooting with the gfree method, i ended up with a brick that blinks a yellow light (download mode). Tmobile was unable to help me, but i called htc and they took care of it.
I had to pay shipping to them, and i got back the same phone fixed about 2 weeks late i think.
not sure how easy it will be when you have a phone that works but has flaws, my situation was such that the phone was clearly broken, so there was no judgment call by the rep.
i called the htc customer service number here:

good luck

I thought I was the only one who felt this way...the data they used to determine it was far from conclusive...not everyone reported when they bricked their phone. I've always felt it was user error, but I could be wrong

I do believe that there was a bad batch of emmc chips, but I don't think that all of that batch was bad. I think that only a portion of them are doomed to fail.

[Q] Uh oh Spaghettio

Hey Guys
First of all, Hi! Ive had several devices over the years, so Im not new to XDA, but just to this side of them. So i bought a used HTC One S for Tmobile, Loving it, but then the power button started working intermittently, shades of my nexus one, now it doesn't work at all. I have tried taking off the sim cover and pushing the button directly, but it just won't work. So, I am using a shake to unlock app, but what happens if it dies?
Does anybody have any idea how to fix this? Or is this common with this model?
Regards
Trevor
It's a hardware issue. Warranty exchange it.

I know energy rom has a tweak to let you wake with volume keys.
As far as fixing it, I can't help.
Sent from my HTC VLE_U using xda premium
will they honor the warranty since i bought it used?
If you dont have the receipts they will probably not exchange it =\
The warranty statement says it applies only to the original buyer.
It can be transferred if sold where HTC as consented in writing to the transfer.
(I'm quoting the warranty statement article 1 here, don't ask me what they mean by that)
Sent from my HTC One S using xda premium
Call HTC see what they say. It should be covered under warranty and they don't as if your the original buyer. I'm sure thy will help you out. Normally thy just ask for the serial to see if its still covered. Good luck.

I'd be interested in this too. I know that TMO is really helpful, but not so much so with exchanging handsets. What is HTC Customer Service like? Clearly not terrible...
I got a used hd2 a wile back and the touch screen went out on it. All HTC did was ask for the serial # for warranty varification. and they replaced the front screen for free. All I paid was over night shipping to them. They replaced the screen and shipped my hd2 back to me that same day they got it. One day turn around was awsome. Maybe I got lucky but I was still vary impressed with there service.

T-mobile warranty replacement

I'm getting a warranty replacement unit for my One S from T-mobile USA. Can anyone who's gotten a warranty device from T-mobile tell me how they received their device? Do they send just the phone, or an entirely new box, etc? I know with other phones in the past, it was just the phone without a battery and battery cover. I'm curious as these phones have non-removable batteries.
Thanks.
Should be the same drill as before. They usually send a refurbished device unless you clarify that all you will settle for is a new one.
Probably just phone with no back cover
What happened that you needed replacement? Just curious
Sent from my HTC VLE_U using xda app-developers app
i actually received a replacement phone not too long ago
and the phone came in a white box, with the only thing missing is the part that you use to cover the camera/sim card. Other than that, it looked brand new.
Wish they would include a new cover instead of dealing with HTC. Would be cheaper and quicker

Actualy would be more for tmo as they would get charged for the backs by htc.
And htc will only replace the back once.

I am thinking of also rma my phoen as it has issue with teh capacitive touch buttons. I am also contemplating of rma with tmo or htc, read that tmo is faster. I hate refub device as I just got the phone like a couple of month ago. Wonder if I can be tough for them to give me a new one.l
