About game
Guys, tell me what you think about this game? What do I need to change or add that would make the gameplay better?
The only thing I can think of that should be changed is the speed you can fly. It's a little slow. Other than that it's a great game & im truly addicted. Thank you!

Stop making cute vampires! Twilight is enough D:
That being said, I really like the video. Any chance of making it available for Armv6 devices?

Yes, I'm working on it. These days up a little bit, so that half of the devices with ARMv6 goes normally, but on the other strongly lag. New version I put on the GooglePlay with support for ARMv6, will soon become available for download

Them's names alright.
Few cosmetic things:
Make the thumbstick totally transparent, the shaded middle doesn't look right tbh
Remove the cog icon in the left hand corner (pressing the menu button is just as easy and takes up no screen space)
Remove the stopwatch icon (doesn't fit with the rest of the game and it's obvious what the counter is for without it there anyway)
Remove the shade at the top of the screen, not really sure what it's there for and makes the screen feel smaller than it actually is (quite distracting)

I think you're right. These clocks a bit out of place and occupy most of the screen. Thanks!)
Google play lets me install it now, but starting the first level shows flashing squares (the squares contain elements from the background), so I guess it's not supported on my device.
Will try later with chainfire, will probably work.
Good speed on ARMv6
Now, i updated version in a first message and on GooglePlay and optimized graphics for low device. Can you check it? Especially if you have a device with ARMv6.
( will need turn ON "Low graphic" mode in the game options)
Guys, can anyone tell me, how i can to promote this game? So... I have a little downloads and do not know how to raise them. Tryed to posted on different android forums, and do not have a result(
Or i mast wait befor i can see improving?
Neat game!

That didn't fix the issue on my device (it has ARMv6).
I can now see the cutscene (Vampoo acting weird with his eyes), but as soon as the screen goes dark, I get flickering squares again.

Well there is no magical answer to this. If you plan to promote your game all alone (i guess you are an indie developer), you should contact all blogs related to mobile video games to see if they can add an article for you (try a google search to find some, i know toucharcade which is pretty good but iOS only). Sometimes those blogs will do a test if the game might be considered. Otherwise, you should have take an editor such as Gamevil or Chillingo for the famous ones that will do the marketing job instead of you. But they will demand some percentage on your earnings.
Only in English?

Not understand the question.
Have a question
Hello everyone again!
So, that new update will be available very soon. You can see a new blood system after death main character. What do you think of this innovation? Is it too harsh?
Looks cool. Will try it on my s2 and let you know how it goes.
Thanks.

Easy to learn, hard to master. The concept is simple, remove all the blox from the board to move on. The challenge comes when not every block acts the same way.
Over 70 levels and 7 different and fun BLOX types (With more on the way)
Any feedback is welcome, good or bad. If you have any questions about the development process / time frames, let me know. I would be happy to answer.

Anyone give this a shot yet?
v.1.0.3
Added a feature request, Grid Option! to toggle through 3 different Grids, Full, Border, and Off
Fixed a bug causing the game to force close in rare cases on exit.
Brilliant game, keep on it mate.
Sent from my Arc via transwarp beacon.
Well , I just saw this thread, just installed it, and just tried the game.
And I must say, it's amazing! Simple yet entertaining, just the way I like it.
My guess is it will be very popular soon!
Tested on Galaxy S2, ICS ROM, works flawlessly, didn't encounter any errors, or FCs, although I didn't get past the 4th level ( feeling sleepy )
My experience and opinions, criticism and whatnot
+ The game starts up very fast!
+ The transitions are really nice in the world/level picker.
+ Music is really nice and not too boring, though I would prefer something jazzy
and slower ingame ( a lot of clouds )
maybe something like : https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=Nf8FCLT8S6A
+ Help is drawn pretty nice, although it should point out that you need at least 3
blocks together for them to dissapear
+ text Font is awesome and fits well, so does the rest of the graphics
+ I love the concept of the game, nothing simillar out there
+ Block animations are awesome too
- I dont like preview thumbnails on level picker, they all look the same, maybe
some nice icons or something ?
- I didn't check the other worlds yet nor levels past the 4th but it seems they all
have the same 3 clouds + sun background. It got boring after 2 minutes
Maybe night/day cycle or something, shouldnt be too hard Would even look
nicer with a moon there and a dark background
Maybe the preview thumbnails will look better when the levels have different
backgrounds
Gonna play with it tommorow some more and edit this post if I find something that I like/don't like
Great job mate! Cheers!
Edit : Added smilies to the post, it wouldn't add the first time for some reason

Amazing feedback, thanks!
As to your light criticisms, I am in the process of trying to incorporate a more friendly level structuring. As in, you won't have to just play 1 level until you beat it, you will have more levels open to you. And part of this process might be changing the menu system around.
As far as the graphics go, you may be SHOCKED to learn, but I did all the graphics myself, hehe
It probably doesn't need to be said, but I am no good at graphics, my idea would be to make each world look different, so you are not looking at the same thing all the time. But drawing things that don't hurt people's eyes is very tough.
I had originally considered making the game go to night time, you may not have noticed, but the sun actually moves. And when it gets to the other side, it just switches back. At that point I wanted to make it moonlight, but I couldn't draw anything that didn't make my eyes bleed. But you have convinced me to keep trying.
I will keep at it though, thanks for the info.

Thanks for the support,
I am working on a big update. Probably due out next week, or the week after. So get your feature requests / suggestions in!
Very clever game, I like how the difficulty varies from level to level.
Sometimes I think a level is too hard, and then I realize it only took 2 moves.
I will also mimic the above poster and say you need a help screen that shows you only need 3+. took me a few seconds to realize that on my own.

Well I thought that too, until I took a closer look and it actually says 3+ on top of the help screen! Though not too many users will figure out what 3+ actually means

Maybe have another info screen on the second level showing the same thing but with just 3? Although it wasn't too hard for me to figure out on my own.
I am stuck on level 25, has to be impossible! I love the little tie-die looking dudes, neat mechanic.
Thanks for the kind words.
I am planning on updating how the level structure works, Anyone have any suggestions? I would like to implement a method in which you don't have to progress one level at a time. So if you get stuck, you have other levels open to keep on playing.
v.1.0.4
Updated the level order. I found too many people failing earlier, changed the levels to have a better difficulty curve.
Enjoy!
Good stuff! It's tougher than I would have thought to find a good, free puzzler that doesn't beat you over the head with ads. Thanks!

Doesn't work in Htc One S. The image of the game is too big and I can`t choose user and password. Tested on Xperia Ray and it worked flawlessly. Maybe its a qHD resolution problem in the game.

Same here, qHD seems to be not supported. It's a shame because this game looks really promising.
1st why do we have to register to play ?
2nd would be nice to have a score
3rd my sheep is terminator first I started jumping then I noticed that he could destroy block on his way ...
[edit] it seems that after register the game start without the hud that why I was asking for a score, when you loose the sheep keep running but the score stops.
Hmm.
On my HOX (latest Firmware, stock ROM) the game starts. But as I try to register and begin to type my username I have no chances on getting to the next input box because HTC has removed the "hide keyboard" button...
Any chance to put kind of a "next-button" next to the input boxes ?

Loving the graphics
hey, awesome game ive been playing it for an hour maybe more lol :good:
just thought id give feedback. the game seems to make my phone run very hott and uses alot of power, idk if it should but i do have games that are more graphic/cpu intensive and those don't get that bad
there's also a small stutter that happens every so often (Using a Htc Rezound btw)
EDIT: The game continues to run at 15% after rebooting. ive rebooted a few times and it still runs by its self
Please fix this

Wow thanks! Yes I understand that it's cpu intensive. I'm trying to find a way to fix the problem. It's not actually the graphics causing it, as they are simple, but it's the collision detection for the boxes. I have optimized the code a lot already, but I must try and get another way.
And the frame stutter is during every advert change. Also working on this.
Thank you very much for your input

More Animals? It works great on the Galaxy Note II, Sensation (XL) not the qHD one and even my little Arm6 ZTE Blade 2. However it stutters for less than a second when opening the app on the Note 2 however it doesnt annoy me anyway so yeah, 5 stars from me XD :highfive::good::good:
Littel slow on Galaxy Ace
The gameplay mechanics are simple: Tap to make the miner jump from one rail to the other while avoiding the gears along the way. Initially I wanted to make an 'endless' game but decided along that in development, because there are tons of endless games out there, to instead create a game with a real end and not just a score race.
Basically, the game is one huge streamed level that you must progress through to reach the bottom and see what lies there with change in scenery, graphics and a few 'hidden' easter eggs along the way.

This is my first game, and since I had absolutely no programming or gamedev experience in the past, it was a real challenge for me (even tough the game mechanics are simple), but it was a really fun ride and I gained a lot of knowledge along the way.
I mainly created it in order to learn and to make the 'foundation' for future games and ideas that I have planned.
I would really love to hear your feedback and criticism especially on:
Is it too hard or too easy?
How is the performance (especially when the bottom ad is loaded. If it causes performance issues I might remove the ad entirely)
Do you believe the ads are too intrusive and if so, would you rather have them show up less (like once every 5 game plays) or pay a few cents to remove the ads entirely?
On a scale of 1-10 how 'fun' did you think it is?
Any improvements that you would like to see.
Nice game, and I liked the graphics, also the concept. Performance was good on my Nexus 7 2013 Edition, however it lagged a little bit in the middle.
I will play around with it more and let you know if I encounter any bugs. As of now it was fun to play :good:
Rated 5 stars on Google Play, cheers!
Ah, knew there was a motive to all those posts.
Well I played your game, it's not bad, I like the graphics, but I think the interstellar ads are too annoying, they appear way to often, as well as the video ads.
I was also hoping that the miner would be able to jump in to the middle as opposed to just the left and right walls.
---------- Post added at 01:03 PM ---------- Previous post was at 12:58 PM ----------
Suggestions:
1) if possible try and make the file size smaller, 33mb is a lot
2) the ad at the botom of the screen lags the game, do something to fix that

I don't have control over the content in the interstitial ads. If they show videos that's a choice my google AdMob.
1) Yeah, it should be smaller unfortunately given the large size images I can't reduce it's size. The game itself is only 10mb, but Crosswalk is the other 20mb.
2) I will remove the bottom ads entirely in the next version, they lag the game a lot.
Thank for the feedback

Thanks for the feedback, I will definitely make the rate button smaller and move it lower below the play button. I already have a nice list of improvements that will come in the next update and this is one of them along with starting the game on the start screen instead of the game screen.

My GoldDigger disappeared randomly . You can check on screens. :<
When i got to the bottom i couldnt do anything. Everytime i pressed on the screen only jump count raised by one ^^.
yours achievments raised my lvl up to 11 from 5. lol
* Game isnt smooth on my Galaxy Note 2. Spikes are horrible . What kind of game engine do you use?
* You actually can't pause/resume/exit to menu at all .
* There's also a problem with gears. Sometimes you put so many of them... one on top of another.

Hey, thanks a lot for the feedback and for downloading.
All your issues are due to the physics engine I'm using (Coocoon JS native) which I will fix in the next update by using a different physics engine (Box2D web). I'll also add a menu button when you reach the bottom.
Thanks again for the feedback
looking cool .. Downloading and will rate it

Nice job! Keep up the great work!
Really nice game, you should add moving obstacles, like small mine creatures or something moving up, also how did you create this without prior programming skills? What did you use? It really is quite addictive but I think you should at least change the gameplay a bit, so it doesn't get stale like some other 'runners'?
193Mb of RAM.. with Lollipop with RAM-bug it's inusable.
Ok, I played it and liked it. My feedback:
1) For some reason my tablet got stuck on the splash screen. I had to reboot.
2) The music and the sound buttons don't seem to work quite right i.e. I had music enabled and sound disabled and all I could hear was the effect when jumping and when getting killed.
3) When the old man gets killed, the spark trail from the axepick goes on, as if the character was still descending.
4) The background is fun but sometimes I find it out of context (or maybe I'm just too picky )
Tested on a 10" ASUS TF300T. Will test on smaller devices.
Great job!

"Reach The Bottom" Android Gameplay
Cool game!! I always thought reaching the bottom is easy and then came this... very well made, would't have noticed that it's your first game if you didn't say so
Development.
I'm trying to do the same thing, but i don't understand Java and the way it works. I have a background knowledge of C/C++, Pascal and etc but i don't. How did you manage to learn Developing for Android? Did you follow any Tutorials, books, online teaching or something?
The game BTW is very nice, "Jumps" should be somewhere in a better position. Loved the Immersive mode. Game starts straight away though.

That should be fixed now. I just made an update to the APK in the Play store it should reach your phone/tablet soon.
The problem was with images being uncompressed as 32bit PNGs instead of JPGs. The performance should be increased dramatically now.
Thank you for downloading and for the feedback
UPDATE
I'm currently working on a greatly enhanced edition of The Tower of Egbert for both Android and iOS. If you're interested please continue to my latest post in this thread. I've just started the final beta testing phase, it’s open to anyone!

A very short gameplay description:
“The Tower of Egbert” is a physics-based tower building game with a magic twist*.
Unlike in all the other building games I know of, you’re not restricted to using only a few elements to create a rather unspectacular building. Instead you may use several thousand blocks (bricks, arcs, roofs, deco items, …) to build quite impressive towers and discover interesting areas as you grow it towards the endless vastness of space.
You’ll have to fight gravity, winds, falling rocks, and other dangers on your way up.
Build the greatest tower ever and see if your tower can stand the test of time!
*you can build freely until you reach a certain height and activate the physics simulation. After a few seconds Egbert the Sorcerer will come to your aid and enchant/fix all the blocks built so far to ensure you can continue building safely

Thanks for your interest in the game, you've been added to the list of testers!
I've edited the original post to reflect the game's transition from the Alpha- to the open Beta-testing state (no need for joining requests anymore) so that I don't have to create a new thread for the same topic.
As stated above, the game is fully functional already, I just want to see if people are enjoying it.
hm, got the message

Hi, in my experience it can take some time for the Google servers to recognize you as a tester. Hopefully it should work by now, could you please try again?
i want to try this ...
I've tested this game on Nexus 5 with Marshmallow with high quality graphics - in this case I would be glad to see a bit more fluent animations. Another suggestion might be support for gesture navigation in menu - like changing the worlds with a swipe, not just buttons. But I have to admit, these are just tiny negatives that don't hurt overall great experience and the whole idea. Thanks for The Tower of Egbert, it has become one of the three games on my phone

A big thank you for trying my game and for the feedback also! I'm glad you like it and I hope it can live up to your expectations and earn a permanent spot on your phone I know the game is a little demanding (unfortunately) performance-wise. That is mainly a result of the high resolution textures I had to use to allow for a huge zooming range.

Hi,
it's interesting game, thanks ang gl
i've tested it on Xperia Arc s lt18i.
everything was ok, as for gameplay only one thing was not convenient for me - "brick type" buttons looks too small, and sometimes when i tried to change brick type - new brick appears and falling down so, i guess it make sense to enlarge buttons and avoid space between them

Sorry, I somehow missed your reply Thanks for your feedback! As for the buttons: they are actually larger than they appear (transparent background) and they are almost adjacent to each other so I guess you must have been unlucky hitting exactly the tiny gap between the buttons.
"The Tower of Egbert" has officially been released! I simply edited the original post instead of creating a new thread.
For those of you that have already tried the game during the Alpha/Beta: a lot has changed since then (and the game got a lot easier - only 2 seconds instead of 5 for the timer), so you might wan't to give it another shot It's also possible to rate the game now, I would be glad if you supported me once more!
Interesting
Very interesting and original gameplay, nice work.

Thanks, I'm glad that you like the gameplay - and not only the looks
Loved your game. Nice game design and gameplay.
Really good work!
Thanks again for all the support! If you're looking for something interesting to do this week and want to win some nice stuff - I've started the first “Tower of the Week” challenge!
Whoever uploads a picture of his or her tower to my homepage (Upload Tower | Giggly Mill Productions) has a chance to win 1 out of 5 keys for the “Unlimited Deco Item” package in the game - it doesn't matter how your tower looks, don't be shy.
Also there will be one single tower that will be announced the “Tower of the Week”.
It will be displayed permanently in the Hall of Fame (Hall of Fame | Giggly Mill Productions). Additionally the winner can choose between a key for the premium version of the game (ads away, unlimited deco, and all worlds unlocked) and a letter with 36 handmade magnetic blocks that can be used on magnetic surfaces (I use them as fridge magnets as you can see on the photos).
This first challenge will stop on Sunday the 28th of February 23:59 CET. I will announce the winners on the day after - if there are some entries of course
Have fun!
Cool game. Like it.
Since Nintendo didn't feel Android gamers were not worthy and made the game for Iphone, I took matters into my own hands with my own retro hero of course. Super Retro Bros Run is an awesome fun running game for android. Run , jump, stomp, collect coins and unlock various levels. Totally free with no ADs and no IAP!!

Cool m8! Will try ASAP...
By watching the video, I noticed that you might need some background music?
Oh well, I'll comment again when I've tried it out.

Thanks for the help!! I retweeted your tweet also. I also updated the game with a dino dash mode but next update will be larger than this one it will just take me a couple of days to make. I trying to figure out a way to add everything I wanted to add to the game.
Also did you see the news Nintendo said now they don't have a specific date for Android that's crazy. They could make more money and get better ratings on this platform.

Yeah. It's not like it's harder to code for Android than IOS. It's more or less the same thing(if you can hire coders knowing different languages and platforms), so it doesn't really make any sense to not release it simultaneous.
Then again. Some other game developers have released for the smaller platform first, to add a hype and to figure out how to best make the on-screen controls work(beta testing on IOS)...
Some other game developers gets paid a ****-load of money to make it platform exclusive for so and so long.
It's also well known that IOS users are more prone to spend money on games and apps than Android users. I don't now if this "well known" thing is a fact or fiction, but it's well known
That can be a reason to go IOS exclusive if you got a tight budget and don't have money to develop for both....
Other than those reasons, I can't see why they wouldn't release for both big platforms at once.

I just found out that Nintendo used the Unity 3D tool to make Super Mario Run, so there is now no excuse for an Android port Not to come soon.
Also I sent an update with a new Boss Mode here is a screen shot of it.
Ok the update is finally live with boss mode!!
The game has been updated with Mega Dude mode where you run as a mega-man type hero.
