Because kpe is came with full firmware that is (bootloader, pda, phone, csc)
And when you use pit file you need all these files
To unroot single pda file also works
If any problems facing then flash with pit+kpe
Correct me if I am wrong

why KPE+PIT
OK, first for all, we have 2 type of firmware.
1. one package .tar file.
2. component type firmware .tar file.
for one package type, you only see one tar file which are flash using odin place in the PDA box. this is the incremental patch from you current working phone. you find all the data still in place.
for the component type firmware, you will have 3 or 4 tar file to flash using odin and place it in respective box. you will need to reset you phone, all the data will gone.
so, why must using component type, if need to flash to stock. Becuase you already corropted the firmware.
1. you have change the recovery partition and rooted and with custome kernel.
2. you have converted to EXT4, (stock is rfs)
3. you have bootloop because the above you have done.
others which having same thing done but not at bootloop, its becuase their done the home work (search and read). this i'm very sure about it.
so, if you have the boot loop, mean you done some step wrong.
so to save you, follow the instruction on the link above you should be fine.
legend:
pit file - this is partition information table, to tell the odin and phone how to prepare the partition for flashing.
example: I9003_latona_20110114.pit
PDA tar: contant all the system partition.
example: I9003DXKF1-REV08-ALL-low-CL1020446.tar
CSC tar: contant of regional specified setting
example: GT-I9003-CSC-MULTI-OLBKB2.tar
Modem: contant the hardware setting.
example:MODEM_I9003DXKB2_REV_00_CL863799.tar
bootloader, do not use this, if you are not upgrading from Froyo to GB. as this is a very important portion of you phone. ( the name already tell you that, "boot" "loader") do not mass with it.
same as PC, when you infected by virus or you have done someting corrupted the file of windows, you will need a reformat or reinstall OS.
hence, for the phone, flash the KPE+PIT
same as PC, when you wanted to update the windows update, you will just click the update and the windows patch file will install, same as you flash the 1 package firmware.
that all, hope you can understant

no that "must" use KPE, it depend on your choose, as long as it is component type firmware, i use DXKF1, so far so good. and most importantly you can use it with pit file. note: 1 package tar file can not use with pit file.
if you want to solve the bootloop, either you do trouble shoot the rootcause, or close you eyes, and once and for all "reformat" your phone.
that why we need the pit.
hope you "already" know that.
BTW, i see no different on KPE on battery life. i use DXKP9 it is a GB, and flash Bam Kernel. battery life is good 1.5day per charge.

No ROM working on i9003

Yes this is strange ... i was working on REMICS v4 and it was working fine till yesterday but then everything(apps, explorer, theme etc) started crashing so i decided to downgrade to gingerbread.
I tried flashing XXKPE & XXKPQ but both of them keeps rebooting after installation and no User Interface ever appear.
I also tried to install the latest REMICS but it is not working too. What should i do .. its as if the old REMICS file cannot be altered and thus are not allowing any other ROM to work on my device :/ . I can't format the internal sd too
I know its abstract but can any one help ??

Clean flash
First download xxkpe firmware package from http://forum.xda-developers.com/showthread.php?t=1004647
Read and follow instructions to flash xxkpe using odin from http://forum.xda-developers.com/showthread.php?t=1133787
Make sure you go thru the complete flashing (pit/pda/modem/etc)
Repeat steps starting from 9 again. This way you'll flash xxkpe twice.
Now you can flash the firmware of your choice. I'll recommend ddlf2 for stock and cm9a11 (or any other based on it).
For ddlf2
download ddlf2 firmware from http://forum.xda-developers.com/showthread.php?t=1741370
Plus download DDLF2_CFROOT-05-07-2012.tar from http://forum.xda-developers.com/showthread.php?t=1331253
Go back to download mode and flash ddlf2 also using odin
Go back to download mode and flash cf-root for ddlf2 again using odin
For CM9A11
download cm9a11 and "google apps" package from http://forum.xda-developers.com/showthread.php?t=1449649
Copy cm9a1a and googleapps zip file to external sd card, as you'll be flashing them using cwm recovery.
go to cwm recovery menu and flash cm9a11 using "install zip file from sd card" option. Make sure you religiously follow all instructions on

Even i had same issue and when i tried to flash only Rom xxkpq, mobile didn't boot. Then I flashed xxkpq along with bootloader, modem files and it worked. I think it's problem with the bootloader.

This method only works if your internal card is unreadable but in case it is readable and has bad sectors the above method fails
WHY? It's actually very simple and logical .. when your internal card is unreadable the /dev/mmcblk0 is automatically assigned to external card which if partitioned properly can support a new ROM
But if the internal card has bad sectors than /dev/mmcblk0 is still with internal card and thus you can't install a new ROM on this corrupt card.. Therefore boot.img needs to be altered to map all mount data to mmcblk1 instead of mmcblk0.. it's very lengthy and tiring ... so unless you have a lot of free time and very less money to spend i recommend going to the service center .. :/

What is the exact model name of your galaxy tab? There are a few variants of p6200.
I didnt use any pit file when I upgraded my tab from honeycomb to ics and had no issue at all.
Or, try to use firmware emergency recovery tool via Kies. Check out this link from page 7: http://www.sammobile.com/wp-content/uploads/2012/01/KIES-FAQ-update-your-phone.pdf

Thank you sir. My tab is back to life. I read about an emmc bricking. According to that some part of my internal memory in corrupted. So I had to re partition my internal memory. So, I used a custom PIT file. Now all is well.

How to back to GB from CyanogenMod 10 alpha 4 by dhiru?

1.repartition from odin

I'm not sure bro but what you mentioned is the right way to go back to GB. But im not sure what did Dhiru told you about modem. What im doing is i have my backup custom rom of GB. So if i want to go back to GB i just restore it from CWM.
dude, a very simple instruction from Dhiru, do not flash modem with odin, it will corrupt your partition of CM alpha 4 which is using MTP system.
Alfix, have explain that use adb push to push the modem.bin of your choose to the /radio partition if you face radio issue or use a CWM flash zip to flash in recovery mode.
so, due to the new mtp partition system introduce by Dhriu CM10 alpha 4, the odin will not be use to flash anything. including the custom kernel.
how to go back to stock? you need to use odin with pit file, Lalotion case is a accident.
1. makesure your odin can detect your phone....
2. flash pit file first or together with XXKPE tar with or without bootloader. DON'T tell me it wont work, me and most of the member have done that, IT WORK!!
3. after flash KPE, your phone will reboot as normal.

dont worry mate... since you are on 2.3.6 just go ahead and do it JXKP3
download the CF-Root file from here for JXKP3
http://forum.xda-developers.com/showthread.php?t=1331253
also download Odin
and follow these steps
1.Open ODIN
2.get you phone in download mode (holding power + home + volume down).
3.Connect your phone to PC via USB cable.(its better to make sure your antivirus and firewall are disabled and you have correct samsung USB drivers installed)
4.Check if your phone is detected by odin you must see color yellow in the box with the port no. and a word "Added!" in log screen.
5.Now click PDA then browse the .tar file (place the downloaded CF-root file i.e, your JXKP3 file in this case). Then click Start.

dont worry mate... since you are on 2.3.6 just go ahead and do it JXKP3
download the CF-Root file from here for JXKP3
http://forum.xda-developers.com/showthread.php?t=1331253
also download Odin
and follow these steps
6.Wait till its done, dont panic.Phone will boot itself. Your now rooted. But you need to wipe cache in recovery mode to do this hold power + home + volume up then clear cache and dalvik cache. Reboot. Done.

Its safe mate. If you back from A4, you need to flash XXKPE+Pit then flash DDLF2. In another word, its safe, as long you follow the guide and be careful.

Go ahead, its safe. You are using Gingerbread right? I forgot, :silly:. If you are using A4, bright idea to download pit.
And after reading the 1st post, yes its safe mate, just remember follow the guide and remember the thanks button under my post, cheers
P.S: Do not fear of soft/hard brick, if you are Gingerbread user. The farthest you can get is bootloop, unless you are flashing i9000 stock ROM.

[Q]How to flash stock ROM from Samsung site

I tried doing some research but with no luck. I wanted to ask if there is a way to flash a completely stock ROM I download straight from the Samsung site using maybe CWM or Odin. And how would I go on to have it rooted? I've just been having issues even with the stock debloated ROM available so I want to give this a try. Thanks in advance for any feedback and help

So first register at www.sammobile.com, then search SGH-T769 under firmware and download the August 2012 ICS or The Feb 2013 ICS Firmware, wait for the download to finish (took me 30 minutes) then extract which ever firmware zip you downloaded then using Odin click on PDA and select the .md5 file which is located in the extracted ICS Firmware Folder that you've downloaded from sammobile.com
Download the PIT file here
http://forum.xda-developers.com/showthread.php?t=1919228
Click on PIT in Odin and then select the one downloaded from the link above
then make sure re-partition isn't checked and start the flashing process after it is done flashing and reboots you'll have stock ics to root it simply follow the instructions over at the root ics stock thread found here
http://forum.xda-developers.com/showthread.php?t=1919228
This will flash a custom recovery and once the recovery is flashed using Odin reboot into recovery and flash the superuser.zip then you'll have Rooted Stock ICS Firmware
*BOOT LOOP MIGHT OCCUR*
To fix boot looping after flashing stock ICS just boot into stock or custom recovery and wipe data and cache then reboot and you're good to go.

The only thing I will add here is that you don't need the .pit file (it also eliminates the chance of accidental re-partition). Just use the .tar.md5 file as the pda and flash. Also, there isn't any chance of boot looping when flashing the file from the samfirmware site. First boot will take up to 10 minutes.

The PIT I wasn't sure if it was needed or not so I always used it just in case and actually I waited patiently and my phone did bootloop.

Not for ICS you don't. In fact, you only need the .pit for flashing CWM.
For rooting GB 2.3.x then you need the pit.

To be honest even that's debatable - I haven't used it the last several times flashing cwm via odin. Ymmv of course
Being honest I just follow the instructions to avoid bricks
