I have an idea, that I imagine is not at all original. An idea that I have harbored for a long time now, but seems ever more important as the release of android gaming consoles become a reality.
I think that android needs "achievements" or trophies or accomplishments if you wanna be original. I'd love to see Google "certify" certain game titles (because crappy short easy games would ruin the system) and have each title have a max of 100 accomplishment points and perhaps even have gamer ID's like Xbox live. What do you guys think? I just knew my brother rents a lot of games he wouldn't otherwise play to get achievements and it seems like it could be a great thing for developers.

hey guys,
just installed a game called Pirates and Traders from android market today..
i'm so surprised that this game is *very* similar with java game for symbian Sid Meier's Pirates!.
what drives me to the wall is this game asking for payment to remove the annoying ads. this sounds like davinci developer.
whatchu think?
well its not like its a game on android that it has been ripped from so cant really say its stolen. ive not seen any other like it for android yet. perhaps they took the idea from the symbian based version and ported it over to android. even if it is a pay to remove ads, people porting games need to be paid to as its not like they can just copy, paste, and change the file type.
Two points:
Firstly, there is nothing illegal or wrong about making a clone of another game; the idea for a game is not copyrightable. If it was, there would not be very many RTS or FPS games available to buy. In short, if P&T was a clone of Sid Meier's Pirates - which it actually is not - there would be nothing wrong with it being so.
Now, if all you had done here was accuse me of cloning this game, I wouldn't have bothered replying to this post. At this point, I've read people claim (with varying degrees of hate or love, depending on the person) that P&T is a clone of 6 or 7 pretty different games - including one that got released 6 months after Pirates and Traders (I apparently own time machine technology ). I can live with that - like every other game ever made, P&T is inspired by many of the games that have gone before it.
However, you go beyond that to make unfounded accusations, which brings me to my second point.
If you have played the game (which I almost doubt, given your comment), you would surely have noted that:
1) Pirates and Traders is a turn-based RPG/strategy game, not real-time with arcade mini-games. In other words, completely different game mechanics.
2) The graphics used in P&T are completely different.
3) The game interface is completely different.
Which makes me wonder - how exactly do you get from there to the idea of comparing me to the davinci developer? You know - if you don't like the game, that is your prerogative - I make games for my own fun, first and foremost. But the next time you wish to accuse someone of being a thief or copyright infringer, please do a little actual research first.

There are reviews on the Android Store too about this good original game being a copy of another game (usually Sid Meyer's Pirates), but I think the only explanation for those is that those people simply only themselves know about one game on the subject before this, and incorrectly think the one they know was some sort of original idea, rather than the (historical) subject of many games and books and movies and so on. And yes, even if there were only one other game on the same subject, it would not be a "rip off" , and in any case this game is notably different from Pirates.
Hi guys, i have an HTC Mozart with custom rom and i love it, but i really want to know why the market doesn't have the games that the other market have, like fifa 12, dead space ecc, i really want to play those game on my wp7
And an other question: why the price are so high (angry bird, fruit ninja ecc.)?
Sorry for my bad english
Hi,
There are a couple of reasons why there are less games. First off the WP7 marketplace is the newest out of the three app marketplaces of iOS, Android, and Windows Phone. It just takes time to build up a lot of apps, and WP7 has had the least time so far.
Since it is the newest marketplace, it prevents a lot of devs from trying the platform. For indie developers, not that much. But for larger studios there needs to be at least a certain user base before they will develop apps. I have also heard some people mention that it requires additional work to port existing games over to WP7.
This is what leads to the higher prices for the well known games like Angry Birds and Fruit Ninja. Since less high profile games have been ported over, the well known games can charge more. There really isn't an incentive for them to lower prices since they are already known on other platforms and are past the "give away stuff to get your name out phase".
Additionally, Xbox Live games seem to come at a $3 minumum, although there are a couple of free ones that just give a few points (like, 50) of gamerscore. If you don't limit yourself to the big-name games, you'll see a lot of indie ones that are free or only a dollar, and some are very high quality. The trick is sorting through them to find the good ones.

Additionally if you want a game but don't like the price watch it for a while, it might go on sale or maybe even free for a limited time.
Ok, there is this old-school rogue-like on the Google Play called Cardinal Quest.
https://play.google.com/store/apps/...sImFpci5jb20udGFtZXRpY2suY2FyZGluYWxxdWVzdCJd
I must say I got really hyped for it, and perhaps I was too fast to get it.
You see I enjoyed 100 Rogues on iOS immensely, so I thought this would be somewhat similar, but unfortunately it is not.
It lacks that certain charm that makes 100 Rogues so fun to play...
I paid full price for it and this is probably for the first time I regret my purchase decision.
I'm not saying it's bad, but it's not very good either.
By the way, although it doesn't have full Xperia Play controls you can move your character (and navigate in menus) with the Play's digital pad.
Hardcore rogue-like players might enjoy it, but I'd still advise caution.
'Mediocre' is the word I think best describes this game.
Perhaps they will improve it with updates...
Hey guys!
I love playing games (on my PC, Xbox or Smartphone)!
I really hate how much "casual" game junk is in the playstore and I can't seem to find some good "story-driven" games...
Do you have some suggestions for me?
For your interest:
I love playing RPGs (gothic, risen, the witcher, dragon age, skyrim etc.)
Shooter are good, as long as they have a good story!!
I really dislike everything casual (like farmville etc.) so please don't suggest me stuff like that
Money is no problem so post everything you got as long as it's worth it
hope you guys can help me, because i'd really like to play some good games on my smartphone when I work abroad...

I suggest you to try the Sorcery! games. For now there are two parts (a third one in development) and they are completely story driven. Both of them look like a tabletop style game, with combat, nice hand drawn images which shows you how the game universe looks like, spells and many paths to choose (great replay value). Since money are no problem ,I fully recommend touy them. Also, after you finished the first game, you can sync your saves to the second one to continue the story with the skills, energy, items and gold from the first one (it also influence your game very much, both in gameplay and in relations with the NPCs).
I'd recommend you Aralon - Sword and Shadow. Also try Limbo.
Purchased it yesterday as it is on sale
Will look "avalorn" up later when I'm home
Thomas Was Alone. I'm not joking. I guess it's a puzzle platformer, but it has excellent narration and a charming story. I'd compare it to Portal but without the offensive parts. Not casual like FarmVille, but more casual than RPGs. So, your call, but I think it's a great game.
In my mind that we don't need even any requirements to download Reigns: Her Majesty because the play store has already blocked that person who is stealing the applications and sell out from another platform.
Make sure this application which is on Editor choice like Reigns: Her Majesty.
Would you have to play on a Smartphone but that phone must be an Android phone.
What did the developer do with me?
Bought this game during the sale. It's wonderful and engaging. The decisions are harsh at times and that's the beauty of it. I hope I will play it for a long time and the cards won't repeat. So far so good. looking forward to replayability in others reign games too. Will download others soon too.
In general, the game is extremely entertaining fun for a person who enjoys strategic games. It really makes you think about your situation and weigh your odds. My only issue is that there are a few minor bugs in the game, such as the several times I had not reached the very bottom or top of any meter, but one suddenly jolted down and the game ended. This is probably my only problem with the game, and despite it, I would still recommend this game to anyone who really likes a game that makes you think.
Although you have a paid version you can download or no it depends on you.
Good graphics that I checked.
