Well, aparently my dog has super-dog hair, since one of it's hairs managed to get between the screen and glass of my transformer, on one of the corners.
I never tried to open my transformer, so I don't know if it's doable, so heres the question.
Can i separate the glass from the screen, and remove the hair and place it back safely? Or isn't it even possible withoutscrewing it up?

I was peeling off my bodyguardz screen protector to put on a new one, and the darn thing was so stuck to my screen it took a lot of force to peel it off. As I was pulling it away I noticed that my "screen" seemed to be lifted off my HTC fuze!! After I kept pealing I noticed from the side that there was a film that was peeling off that had adhesive to the screen with the body guardz. I'm too scared to proceed and have left my phone that way.. my question is there a protective film (not counting any sort of screen protector even the one that comes with the fuze) on top of the screen, and that was what was peeling off? Is that film important for the touch screen itself aside from protecting it (or does it keep some part of the screen in place etc etc).
Thanks in advance, the screen does turn on and is still touch sensitive but I'm too scared to peel off the rest of the body guardz that have that "film" come off with it.
Someone removed that and lost their touchscreen so be scared IMHO.
aaahhhhh can you link me to that post? I tried doing a search, I cant separate that film from the bodyguardz either... =(
I think it is the digitizer that is comming off, or part of it anyways... the only thing I could find online is this

Hello again
So
After giving it a lot of thought, i decided to disasamble my phone to see if i can get rid of that stain. I have to say that it was a bit difficult to folow the guide but i finaly opened my cruise.
In the end i realised where was my problem.
The digitizer has 2 components:
A glass layer witch is on the bottom, and a plastic one (on top) witch are keppt together by twosided adhesive tape.
The "stain" was caused by the plastic layer, witch for some reason wasn't staying straight (it had a small bump...).
I figured this out when i pealed this layer from the glass one, witch i shouldn't have done because the layer has a connection with the glass and the small ribbon witch goes into the mb.
So for any of you, if you encounter my problem, better let it that way, cause the alternative will be a new digitizer.
I'll go to the htc service in romania to see how much will they charge me for a new one, and if the amount is to much, i'll try to order one from the web(altho not that many companies ship to my country )
Wish me luck.
LE: I have a question thow
How can you remove the digitizer from the casing ?
I tryed to pull it but i was afraid to damage something (else).

Heres a link to the picture the guy with the polaris took... the HTC black bordered part is still on the screen but there is a film sitting on top of it thats peeling off with the bodyguardz.
This is a cruise polaris and not a raphael but I think this post is referencing the same thing. Does anyone have any advice to give me? My phone is still sitting there with half of the "digitizer" peeled off stuck to the bodyguardz grrrrrrr
bump...........

That has happened to me as well. I'm afraid you'll just have to get another digitizer off ebay.
ughhh!! any help on the assembly?
Spray some of the liquid that came with it on the touchscreen (underneath the bodyguardz screen protector; spray little by little or use your finger) and it should come off with a little less effort without tearing out the screen. That's what I did. Btw, make sure you turn off your phone and dry it before you turn it back on if you do that
So I just took out my sensation from the box and noticed the stock screen protector was off set and already peeling back a great amount on the top corner. I looked closely and noticed that the small tab at the top of the screen protector is actually inside the ridge of the phone, in that small thin crack where the front-screen ends. That was what cause the screen protector to not lay flat and started bending inward. I slowly peeled the protector back and when it came to the part that was "stuck" or jammed into the crack it took a good tug (I guess it was the adhesive...or it was really in there) for it to pop out. This couldn't have done any damage right? The small crack leads to nothing does it?
Probably just means it got caught in the gap when being fitted. I assume when you say 'crack' you mean the gap where the screen meets the rest of the body of the phone?
Yeah, where the black part ends.
Also, I have removed it and replaced it on more accurately since then and noticed it sticks to the screen very well, even attaching itself to parts that I have not even smoothed my fingers over yet, must be the static? Are there any disadvantages in using this as opposed to buying a new screen protector?
If it works then continue using it. We don't get them pre-fitted in the UK so I bought a 3rd party one
edit: delete this thread please mod thank you
My wife has a Huawei M860 as do I. Anywho, hers has a shattered glass screen. Phone still works. But please know this shattered screen causes such an irritation that it cant be healthy.
Theres no sign of a replacment anytime soon. Pieces of glass are missing now. Question is
Can I remove the glass chunk by chunk and let her just use it without glass till I get a newer phone? Will removing the glass disable whats left of her touch action?
First time posting. Srry if im in the wrong area or breaking rules. Been searching online for hours to no avail.

It is possible, but very model-dependent and I'm unsure for your device.
Modern touch phones use a sheet of glass and a thin 'digitiser' layer underneath to register the electrical capacitance of your touches. In some phones these are two separate entities, however in a lot of phones they are 'bonded' together.
Chances are if you're already missing glass pieces, they aren't bonded. I would recommend leaving as much glass in place as you can and possibly sealing the front with clear 'contact' (book cover) or a screen protector, as it affords the digitiser some protection. You don't want to have to replace both if you don't need to.
Good luck!
Just leave it be .You could break your display

Thank you for your replies. If I can remove the glass I am not worried about putting the digitizer in danger. Its an old fone that will be replaced all together. I relize if I remove the glass it will be more exsposed.
Thats not the concern. Just wondering if without the glass will it still reconize touch? Not worried about hurting the sensitive display either. I got confidents in my hamd skills. Do things like this all my life. I can be carefull

Like I said above, you'll need to research whether the glass and digitiser are fused, or separate entities. If they're separate, you should be fine.

Like juzz suggested earlier, you should get a screen protector to cover the glass - especially since you mentioned that chunks were missing. There are probably sharp exposed edges that themselves will continue to scratch her.
Thank you all for the advise. Im off to research. Again thxs

Awesome! Thanks for much for all your hard work
Anyone know how to physically open this phone? For example I want to change the screen glass? Thanks!!!!
HTC One XL - Rogers
You need some kind of prying tool. You start at the bottom underneath the capacitive buttons. Stick the prying tool between the screen and housing and lift the screen up. You will have to work your way around the phone and pry the sides as well.
Eventually you will be able to remove the phone from the white housing.
That's as far as I got. I'm not brave enough to go further.

Use a plastic spudger tool and basically separate the body from the screen, from there you have to disconnect the speaker and some other things that are on the body but attach to the motherboard.
After that you'll have to remove the motherboard and it's components, then the battery, and then you will probably be able to switch out the screen.
Since the glass/digitizer is optically bonded to the screen, would replacing the prior require a heat-gun or hairdryer and some sort of optical glue?
Why would you ever care if you damage the screen while taking it out since you're probably replacing it anyway? I have no clue. But I thought I would give it a try, and now i'm sharing.
So I managed to remove the screen and the frame without breaking anything (granted the screen wasn't working already)

What I did was cut off little strips from a credit card or any sort of plastic card. Then heated only the back side of the frame. I figured if I tried heating the screen from the front, the glass and screen adhesive might start separating. Then I worked the strips in between the frame and screen through the holes in the frame.
i.imgur.com/iql8z
You might be wondering why there are places ground down on the frame... I'll get to that...
Just worked at that for probably an hour constantly reheating. Just unsticking the adhesive from the back of the screen and the frame. I finally managed to be able to fit a card in through the bottom.
i.imgur.com/kuDuP
Then I just used that to unstick the rest of the adhesive.
Now, about why a lot of the frame has grinding marks. I have the Verizon GS3, but I broke the old screen. I found a water damaged sprint gs3 on craigslist for $100. so I figured I would see if it would fit, and if it didn't I could sell the screen for maybe 200-250 on ebay. It didn't fit, not perfectly... but I really didn't feel like waiting for it to sell. So instead, I made it fit, I almost got it perfect, and it all worked just perfectly when I had it all together. But I wanted it to fit perfectly, so naturally, on my last attempt, I ground down a little too far and nicked part of one of the ribbon cables. So I figured I'd try taking it apart without breaking it... If anybody has any suggestions on how to fix the ribbon, feel free to say something!
i.imgur.com/MN9Fl
how bad did you butcher the ribbon? you could maybe try circuitwriter conductive pen to draw the contacts back. http://stcwk.blogspot.com/2010/03/how-to-repair-broken-ribbon-cable.html
I got the S3 like 3 days ago, and earlier today it just slide out of my pocket when i was crouched, (I know, i placed an order on a case 2 days ago but thought i would be careful around the house with the phone til than) , Crack lower right corner, do you think you could seperate the glass/digitizer from the lcd screen? to just replace the glass/digitizer http://i46.tinypic.com/5lyx41.jpg
The pen might be worth a try. As for separating the glass from the screen, it's possible, but I really wouldn't recommend it. Just because of how the screen is manufactured, there is a film of glue between the front glass and the screen, it would be impossible to glue it back together without leaving bubbles in between, so it would look way worse than just the little bit of cracked screen you have.
