T-Mobile inspire internet on Simple mobile? - HTC Inspire 4G

So I know that a AT&T inspire unlocked will only get edge connection on "simple mobile" carrier. Is it the same with a T-Mobile inspire?
Sent from my LG-E739 using xda premium

There is no T-Mobile inspire. you're stuck on edge until tmo finishes refarming their 1900mhz and let's mvnos have access to it

I don't know about simple mobile or where you live......... but as of last week my EDGE is practically gone. The surrounding area where I live has been refarmed and I have HSDPA.

My mistake, I could have sworn it came on another carrier.
I need a phone with the same specs as Inspire for T-Mobile. Any ideas? Screen size too.
Right now I have the LG My touch e-739 I believe it is, don't like it compared to inspire at all.
Sent from my LG-E739 using xda premium

The HTC mytouch4g I would say is the closest spec wise to the inspire. Its screen size is a little smaller(3.8 vs 4.3). I personally didn't like it an felt it lagged though my experience was on a really beat up phone. I'd personally jump up to a sensation/amaze/gs2. Why not get an inspire and use straight talk its a bit cheaper than simple mobile

Sounds good. Its either amaze or sensation.which one do you think?
Sent from my LG-E739 using xda premium

Personally I would pick the sensation. The amaze feels to heavy.
Just read an article on tmonews that tmo is 75% done with their ref arming of the 1900mhz spectrum

Just picked up the new Mytouch 4g...

I gotta say even with it runnin the new mytouch sense ui and it being on stock settings its blazing fast... very happy I got this instead of the G2. Now I will sit back and wait for root lol
Temp root is available, but you may be waiting a lomg time for permanent root - which may not be possible (see the development section).
Am hoping it is not the case, but preparing for it if it is.

Why does everyone call it the "new" mytouch UI? In case you people didn't notice, it's almost identical to the UI on the Slide. There's nothing new about the interface at all.

not a whole lot.. but incorporates parts of sense2.0 - ex. fastboot. (power off/restart power options)
-The recent apps have been extended from 4 static icons as opposed to the 8 apps you can horizontally scroll though when dragging down notification bar.
- my faves gallery has different view options.. list format. (but who uses that)
The 'mysense' ''expresso'' ui skin has definitely been toned down, hold the slide in one hand and the mt4g in the other.. open the app drawer. enough said.
yeah, this phone is much zippier than my vibrant.

Yes, but their 3G speed is equal to, and sometimes better than Sprint's 4G.
U realize they're 4g is slow as fook

FYI the IP4 is called 4 cause it's the 4th generation IP. It has nothing to do with network speed.

tmo has "4g" where i am.. but sprint doesn't have "4g" here.. but still wants to charge $10 extra.. hah!
anyone reading xda should know neither sprint, verizon, nor tmo have networks capable of 100mb/s. However, TMO's 21mb/s (G2 and MT4G have 2nd gen Qualcomm's with 14.4 mb/s capability) is def faster than sprints wimax "4g" network. at least in indianapolis. i consistently get 8-9 mb/s down.. legit.. thing screams fast!
firmware update already!!!
for anyone that just got the MT4G today... Are you getting this firmware update already... I got a notification that a firmware is updating ... WTF???
anyone know anything about it?
EDIT: ok just started the phone back up and I see I'm on 2.2.1........ NICEEEEE
I had the G2 for a couple weeks, but returned it deciding to hold out for this one (and/or WiFi Calling on the G2, whichever came first); the G2 actually felt snappier to me… this one seems bogged down by something - more so than the EVO 4G did with its version of Sense. Also, linpack's still only getting about 32-33 MFLOPS at 1GHz - same as the G2 at 800MHz. EDIT: Well, it's not so consistent… I'm now seeing 36-37 MFLOPS frequently, but it seems to go back and forth between the two ranges. Regardless, it's still lower than I would've expected (given that the G2 gets close to 50 when OC'd to 1.2GHz).
Still, I have no complaints about the speed of the phone… but its bloatware is definitely more egregious than the G2's.

Further added, the band of LTE is 700, while GSM carriers use 850, 1900. So no, it absolutely won't work.

HTC ThunderBolt and EVO 4G price thoughts?

I wonder...the ThunderBolt is almost identical to the EVO 4G, and yet it costs $249.99, the EVO 4G, is now $99.99, and 1 GHz is now considered low-mid range. WTF? Same with the DROID Charge, $299.99 for a fake S2? Don't get me started with the Revolution...
The TB and other phones have newer Gen processors so you know.
Does that make them worth $150-200 more?
Sent from my ADR6400L using XDA App
Verizon also has higher monthly rates and no longer offers unlimited data.
If you can get good Sprint coverage in your area, it's no contest.
Thunderbolt has more RAM the newer snapdragon and newer 205 gpu

I wonder the same thing. Also verizons new data plan options suck.

The Evo 4G is sluggish and slow at everything, its processor is much older and not near as good as the Thunderbolts. I use a Evo 4G daily and have played with friend's Thunderbolts. The thunderbolt is incredibly faster at everything. I can't wait to ditch my Evo... It should not take 10 seconds to open the messages app.
Adreno 205 vs Adreno 200. 65 vs 45nm process. LTE 700MHZ > WiMax 2100(?) with better building penetration, speed, and latency. Verizon is priced darn high though
Can you really tell that much difference,, between a thunderbolt and inspire?? i liked the 99$ fo sho

If you could use both side-by-side on the same network, the difference would be negligible. But you would definitely notice the difference between verizon LTE and at&t's "fastest 4G network in america"
Its Verizon.
They are insanely overpriced.
Tough deal.
Thunderbolt hardware is better for sure but not worth that much extra in my opinion.
I think its BS then they come out with a new phone every month

Evo fanboy. Samsung devices are 10x more smoother, and the screen is definitely not over saturated. But I have to agree, the tbolt is way overpriced. And the revolution is a wannabe g2x.

Trade sensation 4g for mytouch 4g slide anyone?

I live in Houston Texas and I would like to make a trade if there is anyone local. If not maybe we can work something out.
LOL!!!!
Good luck with that....
The same reason you WANT someone to trade you is the reason why NOBODY is GOING TO. Your phone is INFERIOR.
You might want to try your luck in the HTC VISION forum, it would at least be a FAIR TRADE (hardware wise, but software wise, the VISION is FAR superior... at least for now).
Agreed the Doubleshot rocks.

What? No I had the sensation and was willing to trade. But sold it on ebay for 400 dineros.
The myTouch 4G Slide does indeed rock but for some reason the Sensation fetches a higher price. That does mean that I got the MT4GS for super cheap though, and no contract.

Sensation VS Amaze

I had an HTC Amaze for about a week and then my wife wanted a smart phone too so I sold it to buy two HTC sensations. The only problem I am having now is that my service where I work is a lot worse with the sensation. I don't know if it is just the phone I have or if it would be the same with any sensation. I found a cheaper HTC Amaze on a craigslist type site here in salt lake and I am thinking of buying it, but I wanted some of your opinions. Should I try to root my sensation and see if with a different radio I get better service or should I buy the HTC Amaze. I have rooted phones before but then I become a flashaholic and I spend too much time on my phone. I like the size of the Sensation but if I don't want to root again would the Amaze be worth the extra hundred I would have to spend over the price I can sale my Sensation for? Your opions and thoughts would be very helpfull.
Thanks
Eddy
Sorry I probably should have posted this in Q&A.
It's. Hard to say because I have nevee used an Amaze and I haven't hhave any issues with my Sensation reception either, someone that have used both might be able to give you their insight.

Try another radio, I've heard that can help if you have reception issues.
Personally, I would not change due to reception issues. You are not at work 24/7...
Sent from my Sensation using xda premium
depends on what phone you like better, i think u miss your old amaze lol
youve got nothing to lose just rooting and flashing another radio really
I don't think sensation is better than Amaze. Everthing is the same but Amaze hasa much much better camera => thumb up
amaze has more ram as well
You need to make sure your RIL file matches the radio you are using. With a matched RIL i get HSDPA signal at hom, without it i barely get EDGE.
go to Settings>About Phone>More>Baseband version (radio)
Then get the matching RIL HERE
Well I think that sensation wins

Wrong, on both points.
T-Mobile uses dual channel HSPA+, which is essentially 2 21mbps radios slapped together.
And wimax does need dual radios, but LTE only needs 2 on Verizon. On AT&T, it'll all in one radio.

I thought croandroid was an idiot until this post. It really is all about the dev community. Good call.
The Sensation has AMAZING dev support. Has some REALLY talented folks cooking and coding for it, and in general is a great device.
I own a Sensation and my wife owns an Amaze....
I have had LOTS of problems with my sensation though, I've been through 3 sensations through tmobile, and even sent one to HTC to have it looked at. Phone has never been right for me.
Tmo has just issued me a replacement, it will be here monday, they are sending me an Amaze, not nearly the dev support for that phone, but at least i'll be able to have a running phone and able to make calls.

Combing two points is a dual cell. Which is one radio capable of dual channels. Other devices still get affected by the network. None of the other non lte or wimax devices improve non lte and wimax devices. Which are separate radios. Two radios slap together is still one radio.
I'm just wondering how at&t can put lte on one radio when a bigger company namely Verizon didn't do it either. T-Mobile is still using its aws frequency and at&t is using 850 and 1900 frequency. For its lte its using 700mhz. Just like Verizon.
