I'm surprised I don't see mention of this anywhere on the net, but our tablet came with a little bag filled with what I assume to be little S-pen tips and a little metal circular thing (no idea what its for).
Does anyone know how to change out those tips?

The little circular metal ring has a small cut out where the ring is split. This is to grab the tip in the s-pen like the ring was a set of tweezers and pull it out of the s-pen then just push a new one into the pen.
The black tips have a rubber core and serve to provide a little natural drag on a glass screen. The white tips are plastic and are better suited if you have a screen protector.
Weird, my white tip feels rubbery while inking.

Thanks for the info and instruction guys!
I have no reason to change it yet, but I was just curious and wanted to get the info out there for everybody else.

Well both tips are white but the one encased is black is rubber. The white plastic tip will feel rubbery if you have a screen protector.

Nope, no protector, white tip, feels rubbery.
The guy is asking for how. Clip the tip out, stuff a new one it til it hit all the way at the end. If you want diagram look at the online manual

Here is the url of the online manual

He got the answer already.
So when are you supposed to change the tips? Is it supposed to become a little less responsive or gets...ahem...stiffer?
Good question.
Probably when they are too short. I have wacom-like tablet and the tip is shorter now than it was a year ago. So changing tips is probably once in a year thing, or even more rare.

Maybe but this post was very helpful with the manual.
So where do you get replacementrs.
First off back to the original question. You see the same tip changing system with every graphics tablet I've seen. So you sholuld be able to google it or read any graphics tablet manual. I wouldn't be surprised if you could find a youtube video on it.
Second question. I never noticed my tips getting smaller, I thought it was just to change the feel. Where can you find replacement tips?

True, but your statement "the guy is asking how" made it seem as if the OP had been ignored, which he hadn't, and I just confirmed the fact that his needs had not been ignored.
Yes, the manual was helpful. I already have it, most do, and I haven't looked it up either.

Hello fellow Lasallian.
This is a long shot but, do you have an idea if accessories are available in our country?
i got my screen protector yesterday but failed to read the application instructions prior to me peeling off the stickers and putting them on my phone. I wasted 8 bucks. Make sure to read how to do it first.
I got mine yesterday, and applied it yesterday. Looks awesome, it was a bit annoying to put on, but it looks all shiny. Feels kinda different compared to the other BSE I've had in the past though.
I got mine and it wasn't that hard to put it on if you go slowly and followed the directions. What I don't like about it is that it doesn't seem to actually fit exactly the phone where there are gaps between the pieces...ie the back has 3 pieces. If you don't mind it then it seem to be pretty good. There is a slight grip to it
Got the Phantom Skin and I like it better now because it has larger pieces and few pieces.
man oh man is the BSE full body skin nice! i applied it 2 nights ago. i Kind of messed up on the bottom part. alil irritating but aside from that. It took me a good hour to apply the skin. All parts fit perfect ( wish i had a cam to take pix). I must say that by the looks at the skinomi, its no comparison. BSE covers the whole phone with barely any spaces. the bottom end towards the phone, the skin wraps around ( one whole piece) compared to skinomi's bottom end 2 piece.
I must find a way to take pix for better understanding. will post soon!
I got mine yesterday, followed the instructions to a "T" and it just didn't want to seem to stay in place. I was also dissappointed with the fit of it. I wish it would've covered the entire screen perfectly. I'm going to get one of those static ones...

Second this ^
BSE is the only skin protector site that won't post the cutout diagram!
I'm particularly interested in how the corners are handled.
I'm only interested in the screen protector, personally. I can't believe that PS cut it short all around.
i just finished putting on my BSE for nexus one, it looks pretty good. The cutouts are also pretty good, and fit well. Just take your time when applying.
Just received and put on my skin from BSE. Only got the screen protector though, but it does seem to come a bit short.
I took some pictures so that you can see just the screen protector is like. I just applied this so it has not dried yet, so it's still has some bubbles from the soap.
I will resize the images if people wish.
Here is just the top where it comes out a bit short. (Can't post links for being a new user. Just take out the space in the link.)

Slim to none man. The screen protector will be the same in either kit. If it doesn't fit properly, call and complain. Frankly, unless enough people complain, none of these companies will fix it.
very competitive with otterbox, but with grat designing

Nice I need to order
Looks very nice indeed! Might have to get one too, to interchange with my Otterbox case.
Though ive got a slight worry that glossy black will scratch like a motherducker in no time.
If anyone gets one can you post some pictures and maybe a video too? Curious to see what that plastic is like. Cheers!
I was gonna go for a casemate tough, but I think I might wait for this, looks very nice.

Sounds great, be sure to take lots of pictures.

Got it on, and loving it! Extremely perfect fit. 100% top quality. It's all one piece, so getting it on is a bugger, but once it's on, you can't tell it's a case unless you know what the phone looks like without it. The light gray part is very soft, and very comfortable to hold. It does not add extra bulk when holding it, but just enough, so now it rest better in my palm. The glossy hard black part makes it look so sexy. Overall a great feeling case. The buttons are the easiest to push now. Even though they stick out ever so slightly they don't look out of place like the OtterBox commuter case. They have a dimple on the inside also which helps press the buttons on the phone, so you no longer need to press firmly, but just a gentle press works fine, but not so gentle that you would press it by mistake. The rubber around the screen is a great fit. It goes all the way to the glass, so you no longer have that aluminum edge there. All in all a great case. I highly recommend it.

Nope. The lens is slightly inside the case. The entire phone lies perfectly flat. Actually the shinny black back doesn't even touch the surface when it's on its back, so that won't get scratched by sliding the phone on a table or anything. The soft gray side grips are slightly raised from the case, so the middle is actually off the ground (I tried taking a pic of that, but it just looks like it's sitting flush, so I didn't add those).

So, the thing is a ***** to fit into initially.
Will it give way after a while so you can get it in and out easily, or is it some hard plastic that won't yield or wear down? Do you guys who own one see any way of modifying it for quicker removal?
I'd really like a case but I do not want to lose the ability to use my device for satnav, and I already have the Brodit cradle mounted....

The shinny black part is very hard plastic, and since the very soft gray part is fused to it, it is really really hard to get in and out. I almost feel like if I push any harder I'm going to break one or the other, but the soft part is just soft enough to get it in there. I don't see how it could get easier over time. It's one of those cases that once it's on, it's on for a long long time. Compared to the OtterBox Commuter case that one seems like it can fall off, and the Pop case seems like it was actually made into the phone, and not to come off without a struggle, but if I had to make a choice I would pick the Pop case 100% of the time. Again if you compare them side by side the OtterBox looks like it was made for a kid to play with, and the Case-Mate one that you buy tickets to see it in a museum. It is that good!
Thanks a lot for the quick reply mate. I was thinking that maybe one could cut or file down one of the plastic ridges that snap into place around the screen to hold the device.
I done that ages ago on a case for a XDA mini, and it worked quite nicely but obviously there is a thin line between making the in and out easier and making the case unusable by cutting in too far...
Again thanks for your input...
...this chunk of zeroes and ones has been generated by flashing a 400 Watt halogen bulb into the open fibres of a transcontinental communications cable...
Thank you for good products to introduce.
I'm looking for a 'screen protector' for the keyboard. Similar to what comes on the phone when they are new.
I haven't been able to find any online, does anyone know of one available?
There's isn't really a keyboard protector out there. There's only a rubber case that includes a rubber case for the keyboard.
I ordered myself one of these,
http://cgi.ebay.com/White-Silicone-...151471?pt=PDA_Accessories&hash=item255fdda62f
I recommend the light colors so you'll be able to see the keyboard and know what you're pressing. I made the mistake of buying the black one and I can't even see what I'm typing in light. Only when its dark you'll see the keyboards black light.
I am thinking about making my own template for a keyboard cover that will cover the exposed areas around the edges of the keyboard as well as in between each key... in fact, now that I've read this, I'm going to start working on it right now.
if I get something worked out that is functional, I'm not opposed to loaning you my template so you can create your own custom cover. I'm planning on making it a one piece template and using one of the ZAGG screen-cover blanks that you can buy from office supply stores for simplicity's sake.
if it works, I'll post a write-up.
Wont this result in a less haptic keyboard?
I mean, this Phone is bought because of the nice keyboard and when you put something over it, it isnt as good as before?!
the silicon "cover" would, in my opinion, make the keyboard less usable, but a thin strip of film won't affect its function.
to each his own!
I've still got the factory one on mine, but it is barely hanging on so thought i'd replace it. Will make a perfect template hopefully.
Whats the best way to cut it out?

you lucky dog!! I have been using tissue paper and drawing it with a pencil, haha.
since you already have a perfect template, I would just use a craft knife of some sort. a steady hand and some patience should yield a pretty decent template.

Yeah that make more sense.
There are no replacements, believe me i spent 6 to 8 hours searching yesterday, now im just selling my tablet for parts my glass was cracked. The only way is to find some one with a broken transformer with that glass still intact and buy the glass from them. Sorry to here about your transformer
possible fix?
Well how deep are these scratches?
If they are just a mess of em but not too deep you could always try an aluminum silicate compound thatcould fill in shallow scratches .. i know 3m makes some stuff as polish
The scratches aren't incredibly deep.. I set the tablet face down on a desk on top a piece of paper... I thought the paper would protect it, but there was a few specs of sand or ash or crumbs or something on there and when i picked it up I got 5 or 6 scratches in the screen. Not deep, but definitely can be seen with the screen on.
I found a product called "apple sauce polish"... http://applesaucepolish.com
anybody tried it or anything similar and care to share their experience?
I think it read wouldn't work
This compound is advised against the use of applesauce on glass. I cant really find what its made of but the site lists use mostly on plastic covers...
Uhh here look up some 3m 06070
This stuff here is pricey but it'll last forever if you're justgonnause it to fix tablet/phone scratches..
I scratched my Transformer probably the same way. I don't care about the scratches, they are barely visible, but it made me think and I'll probably won't be buying Transformer Prime - if those things are so easy to scratch it's resell value will be poor (who wants to buy a scratched one?) and my Transformer resell value just dropped significantly probably. In that case buying new tab;et every year will be too pricy for me.
PS. I wear glassess and they appear to be harder to scratch than Gorilla Glass, I've done everything to them and they don't have a single scratch.

Remember this. Your glasses are a smaller target than the tab screen.
Still. The problem is I didn't do anything to the tablet that could've caused scratching and it's scratched. I did a lot of things to the glassses that should've caused scratching yet they are still perfect. And apart from the bigger scratch which cought my attention and could've been caused by some grain of sand caught in the wrong place there is a lot of almost invisible scratches on the border of the device (outside the screen) too. So it's not a single unlucky scratch. In a few months it will probably look like my old cellphone (which was scratched not by me - I bought it that way because it's only for testing apps).
Put on a screen protector, I think it will make the scratches invisible. Matt even better.

Yes, I'm considering that now, but if it in any way affects sharpness I won't do it. The cratches are almost invisible anyway, the problem is resell value only (which already is down, haha).

Get the clear one than, you will not notice there's a SP on the screen. Problem solve and cheap
Thanks for the advices. I'll just have to read a lot about those screen protectors and test some.
Ofcos the best part is that you can remove the SP anytime. I am using one that cost less than $5 and I cannot find any quality differences on SP brands somehow. I think they are all the same at least to me, others might have different opinion.

Haha, small village in Poland. Look more like a small city though (industrial region). You should really not write on forums while drunk.
At the time of this post, I'm running original day 1 US model firmware (1.15.617.4), and prices were $14 for Ringke case, $8 for 3-pack TGSP, and $7.50 for the other cheap TPU case I mention a few times).
Case: Ringke Fusion-X
https://smile.amazon.com/dp/B07F2ZNFKZ/
TGSP: Mr. Shield 3-Pack (out of stock. may try another later, but it's definitely good enough for me)
https://smile.amazon.com/gp/product/B07D3LGZ7P/
CASE:
Case is really rugged without adding much bulk. Surprisingly slim even compared to the cheapo clear TPU case I also bought to try (Coohasisee brand). I like the design, leaves a nice view of the back of the phone. Cutouts are super precise and the edges/angles/design are really clean and sharp. The clear part of the case even has protective film on both sides that you peel yourself, making sure it's in perfect condition when you get it.
100% honestly, I think the cheap TPU case's corners have better cushioning, but that's a non-issue for me since I never drop my phones. While the cheaper case seems to actually have some cushioning, the Ringke appears to, but IMHO the case seems too solid to actually cushion from drops on the corners.
Funnily enough, using a case actually seems to make using the digital volume/power buttons more reliable. Without a case (or with the official HTC free case that comes with the phone), I would often mistakenly hit the power button without actually touching it. If my thumb/finger was just below the power button while I was handling the phone, it could accidentally trigger a power button press. Doesn't happen whenever I have a case on though. Edge sense also works great. Strangely, without a case, edge sense would go nuts - sometimes the lightest squeeze would start triggering edge sense while death grips wouldn't be enough. I dunno, I think maybe it was registering part of my hand (palm or fingertips) touching the edges of the screen while squeezing? Honestly it makes no sense to me. With the case though, it's as reliable as my U11 (I have it set to short squeeze camera, long squeeze flashlight). Double tapping is just... different. I have to tap differently. But truthfully, I really don't use double tap actions at all (yet).
TGSP:
Good enough for me. No bubbles, and edges stick down perfectly. Not lifting up at all like with my U11. Has good oleophobic coating. Only problem is I think it's like a fraction of a millimeter too narrow. I have the right side stuck PERFECTLY in line, and a very tiny bit of the left side isn't covered (all in terms of viewable area). I'm talking the width of maybe 3-4 hairs. Shame, because if the right side is stuck this perfectly, they could afford making it a bit wider and still not worry about the edges lifting. It's good enough for me though that I don't think I'm even going to try another unless it gets scratched or chipped. I installed it with absolutely no dust and lined up perfectly, so I don't feel like doing it again. Plus, I have 2 more since it was a 3-pack lol.
PICTURES!! Pics are very high resolution. Last 4 pics show the TGSP.

- Note, this isn't my permanent phone yet. Still using my U11 until TWRP and a nice ROM gets released. I still need to run Zelda A Link To The Past on an emulator and splice a new wallpaper with the new 1440x2880 resolution. My home screen normally looks much sweeter than the default Nova layout. =)
Attached some pics to the thread, but all pics I took are in the IMGUR link above.
You could have just written this very review in my case compilation threaded.
Why's no one searching - or better looking - before posting....

I'm thinking of getting the case myself. I HATE cases but this one might need it. Been a week and a half and haven't dropped it yet BUT still. The only thing is, I hate bulky cases which this looks like but you did say it's not. Maybe it's subjective idk.

Please don't take this the wrong way, but I do search and the U12+ forums are pretty slow so far (but hopefully will get momentum soon, yay alpha TWRP builds!) and I felt like a new thread would be more fitting for a showing a decent case AND tempered glass setup that actually works pretty well. Your thread was a case compilation, which btw I have been following since before I even received the phone, but most people wouldn't glance at the topics expecting to see anything about TGSP's. I didn't see much on all the threads about decent tempered glass, especially one where the case doesn't wreck it, so I thought this post might help. I know the rules and do search. My post count is so low, despite being a member since 2006, because I usually search and find my answers instead of blindly asking, or I just tend to post what I think is useful stuff. Also, I lurk XDA much more than I post, and don't have much time to spend posting.
Speaking of which, I'll take this time to thank you for all your contributions too. Really, your firmware compilation threads and other contributions have been invaluable. I can see after what happened in your U11 firmware thread why you would be frustrated, but just believe me that I'm not as dumb as most ppl on the interwebs. q=D
PS: I copied/posted in your thread anyway, in case it might help anyone there. =)

It really isn't that bulky, especially compared to a "slim TPU" case. Maybe these photos might help. I happened to have a portable battery pack within reach that can hopefully help kind of gauge the size difference between cases / no case. Also, I since stuck a spigen kickstand on the Ringke Fusion-X case, FYI, so that's not normally there.
If you like the design and still want to show the nice back of the phone, I can't recommend it more highly.

I just got this same Rinke case with the same Spigen kickstand setup and like it very much except double tap sides does not work good. Using Cleanslate kernel improves all sensitivity on edge sense and the buttons but not so much for double tap sides. Great set up otherwise. Thanks for sharing.
Have this. Volume up key is finicky, otherwise I love it. I use the Orzero glass screen protector and it is almost perfectly flush.
I have the Ringke case too.. My only concern is the double tap function that is hard to activate, everything else is good, even the short/long squeeze
