Best ROM for battery life? - Verizon Samsung Galaxy S III

Title says it all guys. What rom have you guys found that gave you best battery life?
Sent from my SCH-I535 using xda app-developers app

These threads are pointless, here is why:
Do you have the same apps as the next person that comments? The same sync setup? Same signal? Same color of wallpaper? GPS on? BT on? Auto-brightness? Etc, etc, etc....
Get it? Flash some and see for yourself. That's why Winston Churchill invented the nandroid.

I was more or less looking for suggestions and peoples experiences with different roms they've tried because certain roms do reflect better battery life then others. Like BB for just about any phone supported usually gives better battery life because its close to stock with little modifications and custom kernel. I agree with your points, but its nice to get other peoples experiences. But so well noted, I'll avoid this pointless topic for now on.

Stock for battery life. Why? No nagging bugs that get introduced with nightlies.

yeah good point. Only stock rom I know is nosympathy but I'm looking for one with at least all the bloat taken out. I also like not having the annoying wifi notification too. I'm thinking Clean Rom is my best bet.

I will agree with that. Stock is the best for battery.

And I didn't mean to come off as harsh, OP. I appreciate your professional demeanor and just think these threads do more of a disservice to members. Someone might miss out on a great ROM because they heard it had "horrible" battery life.
Sent from my SCH-I535 using Tapatalk 2

its all good and yeah, that definitely could happen. I know cause I've done it myself lol

Clean Rom and Clean kernel. It's modified stock.

[Q] Vagabond vs. ZEUS?! which is the better ROM??

I know a similar thread already exists but I just needed a more up-to-date opinion considering the ROMs have changed recently. Both ROMs in my opinion are good, but I am having a hard time deciding which one to use. I just recently went from CM7 to F1 Innovations. I've had F1 for a week and hate it. Battery life is horrible, the system is slow, and apps crash. So i was wonder which is better, vagabond or zeus. i know it is up to me but i would love other people's opinions, people who have used the ROMs, know them, and love/hate them. any comment, input, or opinion is greatly appreciated thanks!

That depends on who you ask, and what you are looking for in a ROM...
welp, i just flashed zeus and so far so good. havent really had enough time with it. now i'm downloading the ICS theme, because i hate the stock look lol. but for now i'm gonna mess with it, reinstall my apps, data, contacts and all that ****. as for the modem, is the UCKL2 good or is UCLB3 better?

I see what're you're saying. But don't get me wrong, I meant no bad intent or tone there at all.
The polls can give you the opinion of the majority...and that would be Zeus.
If you wanted my opinion, in the context of the 2 roms you listed, I would also choose Zeus.
Vagabond, as the op stated: poor, light, stockish, spartan.
I'm kinda surprise that it was even compared. If it's okay with you, I will take that as a compliment.
Good luck in your research.

For one, Zeus is not king... its my version of a system I enjoy running with the features I like... Vagabond has its own personality and unique features that Zeus doesnt. Its a fantastic rom also. Its user choice on what you like and what you enjoy, and, what works best for you. Neither rom is better than the other. Period.

I tried Trickdroid 7.1 on One S, it's pretty amazing but i too prefer Viper One S battery life, overall tweaks and stability.
do trickdroid and viper both work with t-mobile US, particularly wifi calling and tethering/hotspot hack? I think the 4.0.4 roms are not yet compatible.. anyone?
The viper give me a good battery life
i had great battery life with the stock duo rom, even with a 2.1 GHz overclocked kernel. at least 24 and a couple times close to 36 with medium use. but then i went jellybean and fell in love. but if you optimize your cpu usage, battery life will come with it

Frustration

There are issues with the stock ICS leak from BAMF. Too many to list and well-known here.
Liquid ICS (JMOD or original) is pure AOSP amazing - and I'm a Sense guy. But I rely on this phone for work email and I cannot have it blank out on me as often as it does. That and not being able to video my children is a deal breaker for me.
Newt's Sense 4 port is simply gorgeous and does nearly everything perfectly. However, the wifi isn't working and I know it is driving him crazy. I work deep in a cell signal black hole and I can't live without wifi. That and the camera again makes me reluctantly pull away from that one. I LOVE Sense 4, though.
Amazing work these devs have done. And once you have ics, its hard to go back. Thanks, all.
Sent from my ADR6400L using Tapatalk 2
From one TB user to another who loved GB 2.3.4 and previous - yes the no video camera is a disappointment but Liquid is working to get it to work properly, as for Team BAMF - I pulled away due to the overhaul in Ram usage from Sense 3.6, I'm happy to be back on old school Android similar to that of the OG MotoDroid, the AOSP project is great. And with that, it's good to have such a powerful rom with such minimal usage compared to Sense.
Sent from my LiquidSmooth ICS 1.5 Thunderbolt
I have few issues with the BAMF leak, it works better for me than any other ICS ROM but, having said that, the battery life is not all that good and I'm back on Virus' Infected ROM.
Personally, I'll wait until the official ROM arrives and the devs can work with the correct parts to build one, until then I'm happy with a GB ROM and sense 3.5.
I see absolutely NO reason to run ICS, the difference between Sense 3.5 and Sense 3.6 is miniscule.
When the devs have a ICS or JB ROM with Sense 4.0 I'll give it another shot, not until.

Santods nusense is pretty damn smooth dude. It's the only Rosie to date that has ever been so smooth. Out of all the roms based on the leak it is the best so far in my opinion. The battery life isn't close to liquids but this Rom is pretty solid especially considering its still a beta.

It's not bad at all. Like I said. It's the smoothest sense Rom I've used. Plus you can kill any apps that are running by holding home and swiping them away but I can understand if you like liquid smooth. I'm thinking about going back to it because its so good. The problem I have with beta roms is having to flash over and over to get all the fixes.

I'm not doubting it. I liked infected Rom a lot and I can bet you this will be the best 3.6 Rom we will have on the thunderbolt and I like to try everything for a little while. I like aosp more than sense most of the time but there were some minor annoyances with cm7 for me so I used infected most of the time. Liquid ics is way better than cm7 though and doesn't have those annoyances.

Looking for a great stable jellybean ROM with good battery life?

Hi to all!
I'm currently run CodenameAndroid 3.6.6 stock kernel w/VRLHE modem. I currently have tried every ROM know to the vzw Galaxy S III. Not a big fan of touch wiz but still tried them as well just because they are pretty decent on battery. Anyways I'm currently running on 7 hours 7 min and still have 51% battery with 2 hours of screen time about 20 minutes on browser time. 4g LTE on the whole time, sync on maybe 5-10 min.Everything else off. However I do have the s3 underclocked to 1.026 ghz just because I hardly play games, and jellybean runs fantastic underclocked. No lag and you wouldnt ever tell it was underclocked. I will however bring clock back up to stock and test.

In my opinion codename gave me the worst battery life but the latest cm10 nightlies are surprisingly stable and battery efficient. If you haven't been on cm10 in a while I'd check that out but if I were you I wouldn't be looking to a new rom and risk losing that awesome battery life. For me, good battery life's a hard thing to find.

Yes. You are being the tool here sir. Do you realize how sick of these style threads most everyone here is? They get locked all the time by mods even. People need to learn how to take some frigging initiative and read threads on their own instead of asking everyone else to spoon feed them the answer they are looking for.
You sir are correct. These types of threads nearly always turn into a "whip it out, mine is better than yours" thread.
@OP, best thing to do is go into dev section and read the OPs of the ROMs you'd think you'd like and then read about the last 10 pages in each to get a feel. If you like, then start reading.

What's up guys?
So I've been on skyfall Rom since I got my m8. But I'm getting kinda bored. What Rom out there is giving you guys the best battery life and best performance?
Also, does the ROM really determine the speed and battery life more than the kernel givin that all rims are on stock kernel and debloated?
CleanRom. If you want tons of tweaks... Not the Rom for you. If you want stability and battery life... That's what you are promised.

Yea I don't care for tweaks. I'll give it a shot.
You will love it. Give it a day or two to settle in.

I just wish there was adblocking built in like skyfall.
There are plenty of add ons to handle that. Scott presents to us pure clean stock and the best battery life possible without adding anything on to risk issue.

without tweaks, skyfall and clean Rom are pretty much it I think. then again, I haven't seen great battery life since the new Rom base and radio.

Hi,
ROM is the basically for speed of the Gadgets (Mobile/Desktop). HTC One (M8) has a good ROM memory. As you said you are troubling with battery life. Internet surfing kills battery very fast as compare of other application. SO, I can advise you that whenever you does not use internet please off the mobile data.
While we appreciate your quest to find the best, it simply doesn't exist! In most cases, you will receive many different answers from many different people. This at times can also lead to arguments
It's always expected that each and every user will read, test and make decisions on their own. What's best to some may not be to others. You have choices, enjoy the trek while finding that out.
For this purpose we do not allow "best rom" threads.
Remember half the fun of owning an Android device is the, personalization you can do with it
