Frustration - Thunderbolt General

There are issues with the stock ICS leak from BAMF. Too many to list and well-known here.
Liquid ICS (JMOD or original) is pure AOSP amazing - and I'm a Sense guy. But I rely on this phone for work email and I cannot have it blank out on me as often as it does. That and not being able to video my children is a deal breaker for me.
Newt's Sense 4 port is simply gorgeous and does nearly everything perfectly. However, the wifi isn't working and I know it is driving him crazy. I work deep in a cell signal black hole and I can't live without wifi. That and the camera again makes me reluctantly pull away from that one. I LOVE Sense 4, though.
Amazing work these devs have done. And once you have ics, its hard to go back. Thanks, all.

From one TB user to another who loved GB 2.3.4 and previous - yes the no video camera is a disappointment but Liquid is working to get it to work properly, as for Team BAMF - I pulled away due to the overhaul in Ram usage from Sense 3.6, I'm happy to be back on old school Android similar to that of the OG MotoDroid, the AOSP project is great. And with that, it's good to have such a powerful rom with such minimal usage compared to Sense.

I have few issues with the BAMF leak, it works better for me than any other ICS ROM but, having said that, the battery life is not all that good and I'm back on Virus' Infected ROM.
Personally, I'll wait until the official ROM arrives and the devs can work with the correct parts to build one, until then I'm happy with a GB ROM and sense 3.5.
I see absolutely NO reason to run ICS, the difference between Sense 3.5 and Sense 3.6 is miniscule.
When the devs have a ICS or JB ROM with Sense 4.0 I'll give it another shot, not until.

Santods nusense is pretty damn smooth dude. It's the only Rosie to date that has ever been so smooth. Out of all the roms based on the leak it is the best so far in my opinion. The battery life isn't close to liquids but this Rom is pretty solid especially considering its still a beta.

I'm pretty happy to be back on the original Android feel. Don't get me wrong, Sense was good always treated me well on GB 2.x.x but I've missed the classic feel that my old Motorola Droid had

It's not bad at all. Like I said. It's the smoothest sense Rom I've used. Plus you can kill any apps that are running by holding home and swiping them away but I can understand if you like liquid smooth. I'm thinking about going back to it because its so good. The problem I have with beta roms is having to flash over and over to get all the fixes.

I'm not doubting it. I liked infected Rom a lot and I can bet you this will be the best 3.6 Rom we will have on the thunderbolt and I like to try everything for a little while. I like aosp more than sense most of the time but there were some minor annoyances with cm7 for me so I used infected most of the time. Liquid ics is way better than cm7 though and doesn't have those annoyances.

I hate that I have to be so vague with things being a tester, and I'm sure it gets annoying hearing only limited information, but I do it all in good intentions to keep people posted and happy without ruining any excitement for the developers come release time. Again my apologies if it's been an annoyance.

I still believe those radios weren't meant for ics and were the ones they had at the time. I think the .19 radios are actually newer than those. I think the .9 are too. The leak radios are total garbage.

That is for sure. I really am loving Newt's One xXx. Wish I knew what I was doing so I could attempt to help. Just the simple "fixes" would be nice. Guess I will try Newt's Inc T-Bolt.
EDIT: Decided not to try the Inc Tbolt, but instead I've tried installing the agps patch and will report back!

sense 3.5 rom recommendations

Hello! i was wondering if i could get recommendations for a fast rom that incorporates sense 3.5/3.0? i've looked at some of the ones on the rom listing http://forum.xda-developers.com/showthread.php?t=1249328 but unfortunately it seems most of them are riddled with bugs thanks!
as far as i know, the only semi good sense 3.5 rom is SOAB from the bamf folks.
you have to understand that our phones were never meant to run sense 3.5.. so i doubt it will ever be 100% bug free on the thunderbolt.
Eternity Rom
ETERNITY ROM
Awesome, stable, rock-solid sense 3.5 rom for the Thunderbolt
Based off of Runnymede, not Bliss.
thanks i tried eternity and thought it was an awesome setup! going to try pairing the lean kernel with it and see if i can possibly improve performance
3.5 roms
I have been running vigorsense from liquid for a good while and have had great luck with it. my dd
Hope this helps
i only run bamf roms on my wifes tbolt (soab currently)
there wouldnt be sense 3.5 on the bolt if not for them (well ones with working data anyway)
I too would def recommend bamf SOAB (son of a bliss) ROM as well. Havent used it in awhile but it is amazing.

They stopped doing the svn updates awhile ago. To many people stopped going to the site.

Repetitive Question but who has the best Gingerbread ROM?

I only ask this because I do not have a Skyrocket. My friend does, I rooted it a while back and now he said his ROM is giving him problems. I would normally flash and mess around with the ROM to see how it responds, but like I said I dont have one. I know ICS is fairly new so I dont want that. I need a stable, fast, good battery Gingerbread ROM. I will look in the dev section and do what i normally do, check options, and the last few pages of the thread, but any referrals are greatly appreciated without the normal hate. I will be going to his house prob thursday to hook him up, esp with the throttle trick as well
Quickwiz is probably one of the quickest roms IMO

Also agree. This Rom gave me no problems at all. So much I almost didn't want to update to Seanz ICS ROM(s).
I really liked nexusmod4 never really used sky ics but i tried most of the other ones and has to say nm4 was my fav

{Poll included} Which FUll ICS based rom are YOU looking forward too

so as we all no Nexx is hard at work getting the 3.0 kernel ready and just about every dev is going to want to use it to fully harness ics on our DS so i wanted to know which ics rom everyone is looking to use as their main one and why, so i'll kick things off
right now i'm leaning towards Blindice as my main rom, i've tried the latest cm9 and a whole load of other ics roms and blindice seems the most stable for me so far, also got the best connectivity out of all the ones i've tried so far

Nice thread
I'm looking forward to Sense based ROMs in the long run, but I don't think they will be ready for a while, to the point where they are customizable with RCTweaks etc.
So I'm looking at CM9. I don't think there will be CM9 Stable so soon. Remember CM7.2 started in December 2010. They got a couple if RC out during January > April. But the final version came October. I'm guessing that officially we will get CM9 RC pretty soon. And the final version with all the tweaks/themes done will come by October like it did with CM7.
If you look at CM9 now, they have a lot of placeholders.

RC = Release candidate. It is a build that has been tested quite alot, and has potential to become the final build. This is one step ahead of the nightly builds. Then once they decide which is the stablest RC, it becomes the stable/final.
I certainly agree with you. When Reaper first came, I held off it, for some reason I do not know why, but I recently tried Reaper (in fact still on it currently) and its fantastic.
Yeah some sense apps are excellent and are the main reasons I use it, particularly the camera app. Its miles ahead of AOSP ones.

I'm not to sure about the actual quality, but the UI of the Sense camera app is better.
Simply because it allows touch-to-focus video, face detection, and instant snap mode.

God damn, now I'm considering going back to Endymion, just to have face detection back... cool but pointless feature
Touch to focus works on the CM camera app, but it doesn't work while shooting video.

it's not stupid.. i would use blindice, but the overwhelming support for a sense based one would make me try that and likely stick with it.. once the kernel is released most of the roms will all get to a point where every feature works.. on all of them.. therefore it will be the extra merits of the roms for example speed, performance, addons, customisability etc, this thread is too see which one people are looking forward to, thats why i said stable
Continuing on the discussion reg camera, I have observed tha the STOCK Sense camera gives better pictures with lesser noise nad smaller file sizes...
I'd like to see a full Sense 4 port, only reason I'm looking forward to Kernel 3.0. That and 60 FPS graphics across ICS

Which Rom is True ICS?

Hey guys just wondering what Rom is the best for the skyrocket that has the most ICS features and is the most stable. Ive seen a lot of roms have problems.
Try just about any rom that does not have gingerbread in the title. If you want something with an aosp feel, i suggest NexusMod or getting into cm9 but that's not a daily driver yet if your new.
Skyics is nice too. Its based off latest ics leak.
Just flash away.
i would say cm9 alpha 3 is pretty stable and ive been using it as a dd for like 2-3 weeks since alpha 2a and i havent had any problems pretty much all the issues were resolved in a3
CM9 or AOKP are the closest thing to true ICS. CM9 is easily accessible daily driver. I've been using it for awhile and have no problems. AOKP has a few more bugs. If you want true ICS, stay away from any Samsung roms since they pretty much ruin ICS with Touchwiz and all the visual changes they did. CM9 has more features than any Samsung rom.

I second the cm9 as a daily driver. Blown away by this ROM. It's like they read my mind about all the features I felt were lacking on my phone and ta-da!

I've been using seanzscreams ROM's for months and his latest version is the best operating system on a phone I've ever used. It's fast, smooth and the battery life is truly amazing. And he posts updates oftentimes every day. You can find that thread here:

BOY, now THERE'S a loaded question! LOL
MikTouch, BulletProof (both GB)
MikMiuiICS, MikXE & Virtuous Inquisition (all ICS)
My PERSONAL favorites and all rock solid.
(just getting ready to try out the 1st Beta release of Virtuous Infinity tho.....)
Virtuous Inquisition has always been the one I go back to. I always go back whenever I have school, as I am usually too preoccupied with other thoughts to remember to charge. One charge for me lasts days, The ROM itself is quite fast, and I doubt you would be disappointed.

Hopefully, you will ALWAYS be able to find the best of everything that's been created for the MT4Gs right here...... http://forum.xda-developers.com/showthread.php?t=1835645
At least, that's my intention. Our developers and our users deserve backup.

I personally recommend either Virtuous Infinity if you want Sense or CM if you don't. I haven't flashed CM9.1 yet - downloading now over 2G.
I had good experiences with Miktouch as well in GB, and I really liked Paranoid Android though it made me wish my phone had a bigger screen.
