Why does everyone think they are a moderator? Dude if you don't want to answer, just ignore the guy. Your adding more spam to respond to his spam, as I just added more spam by adding my 2cents. What did you gain by being a prick, it's easier to just ignore the guy and those you don't want to help. Others on here don't feel like you, let those people help.

I tried Trickdroid 7.1 on One S, it's pretty amazing but i too prefer Viper One S battery life, overall tweaks and stability.

do trickdroid and viper both work with t-mobile US, particularly wifi calling and tethering/hotspot hack? I think the 4.0.4 roms are not yet compatible.. anyone?

The viper give me a good battery life

i had great battery life with the stock duo rom, even with a 2.1 GHz overclocked kernel. at least 24 and a couple times close to 36 with medium use. but then i went jellybean and fell in love. but if you optimize your cpu usage, battery life will come with it

so far I have tried Cyangenmod 7.3.1, Modacco and MIUI. I have been enjoying MIUI the most as its the most stable and easiest to customize, plus I feel that its been the fastest. Battery life hasn't been as good for me as I was hoping though and I miss the feature in cgm which lets you get rid of notifications, such as voice mail just by swiping them to the left/right.
I like SuperAOSP

Oxygen is possibly the fastest while MIUI is more complete. I also use to switch between the two.

very...nice...now i'm looking for the best kernel..
I use Mikeyinid's stock-ish rom with Mathkid's matr1x kernel and it is perfect if you don't want a lot of clutter and if you like vanilla. It also has bln and voodoo capabilities plus it is oc'd to 1.2ghz to boot. Super fast, super stable.

There is no such thing as best ROM. It's all about preferance and it varies from user to user. If you've tried them all then why don't you decide which one was better for you and keep it?
Just to give you a tip, the most popular ones are oxygen, CM7 ( and nscollab which is based on it), MIUI, superaosp and infinity. Try them and see which one do you like the most.
supeaosp 8.6

My thoughts exactly,
As I've found out in the past much to my annoyance, you can't create a poll once the thread is created, unless you're a moderator!
Sorry guys I did it wrong. I didn't mean to post this because I was unable to create the poll. Oops.
you could PM smokestack76 the moderator with the poll details and he'll be able to create it for you....if you want? although the notion of bestest custom changes every day/week/..........

On a par with most other sense 3 roms
I don't get too excited/upset about battery life, I do have regular access to electricity so its no problem
Of course, you notice if the battery starts draining really fast or seems unusual in some way, but wArtHog isn't like that so mostly I just use the phone & charge it when I see fit.

I did have some roms in the touch diamond 2 forum, a while back now. Think its considered a 'legacy device' now, i.e. too old to bother with lol
I did consider putting it up on the forum, but a) its running the stock kernel, so can't be o/c-ed & b) couldn't be arsed with everyone saying "why doesn't it do this?" or "make it do that" Everyone wants to either o/c or u/v or both, so its a no go.
On the plus side, with the stock kernel, everything - bt, front cam, reader, etc - works out of the box. And tbh, 1GHz is fine for me - well, look at the scores!
Peace

Sent from my SAMSUNG-SGH-I727 using xda premium
Agreed, you have to try some out and pick your favorite. If you ask 20 people on this section by PM randomly I bet you'd get at least 5-6 different answers.
SkyICS + Venom depending on your personal taste get my vote right now for multiple reasons, but the biggest being support and production. A vast majority of the roms that have come out for this phone have never/rarely been updated (no offense intended, people have lives, things happen, you get new phones, etc...).
Often, the stock ROM is the best since at least all the phone's capabilities are accounted for. More often, a rooted stock ROM is better since you can freeze bloatware, get around tethering restrictions and the like. Beyond that, it's kind of up to you to do your homework to make sure that a particular ROM does everything you need it to do (Bluetooth streaming, both cameras work, etc) and that you like the layout.
On a side note......
Q: What's the best way not to spam the board?
A: You don't post the same question in multiple sections.
Please don't do it again. Thank you.
Running venom right now and very pleased.

Any better ROMS than Valhalla final?

Do not mean to be disrespectful its a great rom and I have been using it for many months... I'm just asking if there are any stable roms like Valhalla final but ICS and not gingerbread.
if its not too hard please post ur recommendations and explain what's good about that rom.
Thanx a bunch.

I would recommend trying them out start with cm9 for a few days. I love aokp personally with hefe kernel, there are so many little options to make the phone feel like it's yours. They all have little twists to them and the older more updated ones are more stable. If you haven't felt ics yet your in for a treat.
Sent from my SGH-T959V using xda premium
I like barebones, its completely debloated and has the look and feel of stock gingerbread
I've tried all the other roms and yes with cm9 comes alot of customizations and neat tweaks.....but also they come with alot of bugs.
I miss the fun stuff but love everything working and love the touch wiz.

Nothing ICS that is as bug free as Valhalla final or black edition. The ICS roms are definitely all good enough for daily drivers, but the battery life is inconsistent to say the least and your going to have issues with voodoo sound still being partiality busted if that matters to you. I flash the new CM9 builds and ROM's based off of them when they come out to look for bugs and generally see first hand how the development is progressing but still using Valhalla black as a daily driver for the reasons I mentioned previously
Sent from my SGH-T959V using xda app-developers app
Since you are in GB and Valhalla is a stock-ish ROM, then I suggest Barebone or if you want some more theme and custonization then go for Valhalla Black either Raver or FB with Anton's Basic with a Twist kernel.
My pick is FB's Valhalla Black, but Barebone is awesome too. I'm just not a fan of stock.
ICS ROMs are all good. I use CM9 and AOKP, they all have bugs and some issues. Development is still ongoing. Yet, once you try it, it would be hard going back to a GB ROM.

This is BEST Answer. I know BUT I want to know another PROFESSIONAL OPINION as a beginer.
Some of the people that have responded are the developers, and all of the people have tried many (if not all) of the ROMs. In my humble opinion, that is as "professional" as it gets. The best advice here is to try them out and see which, if any, you personally feel drawn towards. You can always go back to the one you like best. Being a beginner can be scary, but read, read, read before you do anything, make backups, and follow the directions. It is very easy once you get into it.
Good luck! Oh, I like the AOKP best, so far, but I haven't tried Raver's ICS ROM yet. That's next on my list.

basically, raver is saying that everyone has their own opinion on what is the best rom. each person wants different things. you can't just ask people which is better. you just have to try out each and decide for yourself. so in other words, don't be lazy by asking people, check em out yourself.

"No" was simply the answer to the ops question. Unless he enjoys random reboots, sub-par battery life and lack of functionality then he should wait for a "final" ICS rom. Last time I checked there wasn't one.

Looking for a great stable jellybean ROM with good battery life?

Hi to all!
I'm currently run CodenameAndroid 3.6.6 stock kernel w/VRLHE modem. I currently have tried every ROM know to the vzw Galaxy S III. Not a big fan of touch wiz but still tried them as well just because they are pretty decent on battery. Anyways I'm currently running on 7 hours 7 min and still have 51% battery with 2 hours of screen time about 20 minutes on browser time. 4g LTE on the whole time, sync on maybe 5-10 min.Everything else off. However I do have the s3 underclocked to 1.026 ghz just because I hardly play games, and jellybean runs fantastic underclocked. No lag and you wouldnt ever tell it was underclocked. I will however bring clock back up to stock and test.

Yes. You are being the tool here sir. Do you realize how sick of these style threads most everyone here is? They get locked all the time by mods even. People need to learn how to take some frigging initiative and read threads on their own instead of asking everyone else to spoon feed them the answer they are looking for.
You sir are correct. These types of threads nearly always turn into a "whip it out, mine is better than yours" thread.
@OP, best thing to do is go into dev section and read the OPs of the ROMs you'd think you'd like and then read about the last 10 pages in each to get a feel. If you like, then start reading.
