Looking for a great stable jellybean ROM with good battery life? - Verizon Samsung Galaxy S III

Hi to all!
I'm currently run CodenameAndroid 3.6.6 stock kernel w/VRLHE modem. I currently have tried every ROM know to the vzw Galaxy S III. Not a big fan of touch wiz but still tried them as well just because they are pretty decent on battery. Anyways I'm currently running on 7 hours 7 min and still have 51% battery with 2 hours of screen time about 20 minutes on browser time. 4g LTE on the whole time, sync on maybe 5-10 min.Everything else off. However I do have the s3 underclocked to 1.026 ghz just because I hardly play games, and jellybean runs fantastic underclocked. No lag and you wouldnt ever tell it was underclocked. I will however bring clock back up to stock and test.

Dude, he wants our rom suggestions not a link to all roms, don't be a tool....
In my opinion codename gave me the worst battery life but the latest cm10 nightlies are surprisingly stable and battery efficient. If you haven't been on cm10 in a while I'd check that out but if I were you I wouldn't be looking to a new rom and risk losing that awesome battery life. For me, good battery life's a hard thing to find.

If anyone is being a tool it's you. The op should take time to look through rom threads himself and see if it's worth trying out. Just because you have a great experience on a certain rom doesn't mean he will.

Based on your current stats that you posted you could get at least 4 hours of screen on time with your current build and use, which is a pretty high amount as is. Not sure how much better battery life your trying to get out of it.

Yes. You are being the tool here sir. Do you realize how sick of these style threads most everyone here is? They get locked all the time by mods even. People need to learn how to take some frigging initiative and read threads on their own instead of asking everyone else to spoon feed them the answer they are looking for.

You sir are correct. These types of threads nearly always turn into a "whip it out, mine is better than yours" thread.
@OP, best thing to do is go into dev section and read the OPs of the ROMs you'd think you'd like and then read about the last 10 pages in each to get a feel. If you like, then start reading.

Which Rom is True ICS?

Hey guys just wondering what Rom is the best for the skyrocket that has the most ICS features and is the most stable. Ive seen a lot of roms have problems.
Try just about any rom that does not have gingerbread in the title. If you want something with an aosp feel, i suggest NexusMod or getting into cm9 but that's not a daily driver yet if your new.
Skyics is nice too. Its based off latest ics leak.
Just flash away.
i would say cm9 alpha 3 is pretty stable and ive been using it as a dd for like 2-3 weeks since alpha 2a and i havent had any problems pretty much all the issues were resolved in a3
CM9 or AOKP are the closest thing to true ICS. CM9 is easily accessible daily driver. I've been using it for awhile and have no problems. AOKP has a few more bugs. If you want true ICS, stay away from any Samsung roms since they pretty much ruin ICS with Touchwiz and all the visual changes they did. CM9 has more features than any Samsung rom.

I second the cm9 as a daily driver. Blown away by this ROM. It's like they read my mind about all the features I felt were lacking on my phone and ta-da!

I can see this turning into a Ford vs. Chevy debate. Just load up several and put them through your paces. Do Nandroids and you can easily switch back.
That said, add another vote for SkyICS 4.2E

ROM battle: AOKP vs BEAM ROM

Which is best and why? Enter your experience and reviews please.
Sent from my SGH-T959V using Tapatalk 2
We cannot justify that the Rom x is better than the Rom y, it depends on our own taste and way of using it.. sense our ICS base ROM's are under development as of this time,
and most of all we just need to provide them some log's in every issue we encounter so that they can work on it, in that way we can have a better ICS as ROM builds progress.. what we can do is to give thanks to our great dev's who work hard to give us the ICS,
but base on my experience i never encounter any issue in AOKP, specially on the latest build
Beam hands down. Smoother faster and better battery life. I think so anyways . But both are awesome!

Blah...blah...blah
Let's see, how's that phrase go again... Oh yea...
It's all a matter of opinion, and my opinion is the only one that matters... to me...
Everyone has a favorite, for whatever reason, but their reasons may not be the next persons. Personally, haven't tried Beam, and no offense to whoever the dev is for it, but I don't plan to. I'm happy with AOKP, and I'll keep updating it (in fact I need to download the latest) but other than that, i'm done messing with this phone...

I was going to do something like this thread but for MIUI vs cMIUI. Then I thought that people would come telling that it's a personal thing, every ROM is great, they are all smooth and fast... and stuff like that. I think that the OP was asking for more than the general description. What really is it that made you choose that ROM over the other?
My choice here would be AOKP. I have used Team Acid's ROMs since forever, back in the Froyo days when ICBINB and Audiophiles were all over the place. I trust their work and it fits my personality. Constant support and never had an unsolved issue. My dad has been using Valhalla Black since it came out, I don't remember when. He thinks that it's the ultimate thing, still. So, that's enough proof that their work is awesome. Doesn't mean I don't like other development. I have used every ROM, mod and kernel here. Just my preference. Of course, AOKP is smooth, fast, stable, simple, no confusing apps (normal launcher), doesn't take much time to set up to my preferences and it has constant support and updates. But then again, every other ROM has it too. It's very hard to describe the choice, but I can't find other way to explain it.
No disrespect to other devs here. I know Erik, Thomas, Dao, Solrac, Anton and the others do an excellent job. In fact, I'm currently on cMIUI, not AOKP. But I have tried all other's and it's very hard to decided with which one to stay with.
Beam if you want speed and smoothness
aokp if you want customization

i had great battery life with the stock duo rom, even with a 2.1 GHz overclocked kernel. at least 24 and a couple times close to 36 with medium use. but then i went jellybean and fell in love. but if you optimize your cpu usage, battery life will come with it

[Q] Fastest ROM - Suggestions for a minimalist!

Howdy XDA peoples, I'm not too handy with the search bar and I haven't come across a thread for this yet so...
>What is the fastest ROM for the Verizon Galaxy SIII? I'm going for minimal amounts of crap, as clean as they come, and as fast as they come.
>Also, Stock or AOSP, which is faster? I imagine AOSP.
>I'm not looking for kernel compatibility, which ROM is the fastest, just the ROM alone.

But no question you can narrow your search down to AOSP ROMs.

I'm an AOSP guy personally, but I do greatly appreciate your input!
theres an entire original development section here. do some research and find what works best for you and what you need out of a rom.
being fast isnt a valid criteria.
nobody can answer this question except for you. put in a little effort, do some learning/reading, itll serve you well.
Here you go. All your questions answered:

I'm really just looking to see what others experiences have been, I've had my fair share of ROMs on this thing. Not as many stock, as I always felt they were slower, but still, plenty.
I also have done PLENTY of reading, hence the reason why I have never had to make a post before, I find my questions answers in my reading.
So I take offense to your comment ddurand. I'd like personal preference and input, not criticism on my research techniques.
everyones phone works differently. you just need to try things and see what you like and what fits you best.
theres threads all over like this with comparisons. heres another good one besides the one posted above (http://forum.xda-developers.com/showthread.php?t=2030478)
asking for peoples personal opinion will net you 10+ different roms to try.
dont take it too seriously, im just trying to help.
its just how it works. you need to flash ROMs to see what works best on your phone.
I think nottas paranoid android is a great candidate. Other than the pie interface and hybrid ui stuff, it's basically AOSP. It's also compiled with linaro. I think the minimal features really help keep it smooth and fast.

ROM

What's up guys?
So I've been on skyfall Rom since I got my m8. But I'm getting kinda bored. What Rom out there is giving you guys the best battery life and best performance?
Also, does the ROM really determine the speed and battery life more than the kernel givin that all rims are on stock kernel and debloated?

Hi,
ROM is the basically for speed of the Gadgets (Mobile/Desktop). HTC One (M8) has a good ROM memory. As you said you are troubling with battery life. Internet surfing kills battery very fast as compare of other application. SO, I can advise you that whenever you does not use internet please off the mobile data.
While we appreciate your quest to find the best, it simply doesn't exist! In most cases, you will receive many different answers from many different people. This at times can also lead to arguments
It's always expected that each and every user will read, test and make decisions on their own. What's best to some may not be to others. You have choices, enjoy the trek while finding that out.
For this purpose we do not allow "best rom" threads.
Remember half the fun of owning an Android device is the, personalization you can do with it
