What's up guys?
So I've been on skyfall Rom since I got my m8. But I'm getting kinda bored. What Rom out there is giving you guys the best battery life and best performance?
Also, does the ROM really determine the speed and battery life more than the kernel givin that all rims are on stock kernel and debloated?
CleanRom. If you want tons of tweaks... Not the Rom for you. If you want stability and battery life... That's what you are promised.

I just wish there was adblocking built in like skyfall.
There are plenty of add ons to handle that. Scott presents to us pure clean stock and the best battery life possible without adding anything on to risk issue.

Ok so what Rom is out there that offers the best possible battery life along with better than stock performance?

without tweaks, skyfall and clean Rom are pretty much it I think. then again, I haven't seen great battery life since the new Rom base and radio.

Hi,
ROM is the basically for speed of the Gadgets (Mobile/Desktop). HTC One (M8) has a good ROM memory. As you said you are troubling with battery life. Internet surfing kills battery very fast as compare of other application. SO, I can advise you that whenever you does not use internet please off the mobile data.
While we appreciate your quest to find the best, it simply doesn't exist! In most cases, you will receive many different answers from many different people. This at times can also lead to arguments
It's always expected that each and every user will read, test and make decisions on their own. What's best to some may not be to others. You have choices, enjoy the trek while finding that out.
For this purpose we do not allow "best rom" threads.
Remember half the fun of owning an Android device is the, personalization you can do with it

Hi everyone. Let's find out which custom ROM people are favoring at the moment. There are so many great ROM's out there at the moment I really don't have a clue which one to go with for my everyday ROM.

My thoughts exactly,
As I've found out in the past much to my annoyance, you can't create a poll once the thread is created, unless you're a moderator!
Sorry guys I did it wrong. I didn't mean to post this because I was unable to create the poll. Oops.
you could PM smokestack76 the moderator with the poll details and he'll be able to create it for you....if you want? although the notion of bestest custom changes every day/week/..........
Was expecting a poll

On a par with most other sense 3 roms
I don't get too excited/upset about battery life, I do have regular access to electricity so its no problem
Of course, you notice if the battery starts draining really fast or seems unusual in some way, but wArtHog isn't like that so mostly I just use the phone & charge it when I see fit.
Peace

I did have some roms in the touch diamond 2 forum, a while back now. Think its considered a 'legacy device' now, i.e. too old to bother with lol
I did consider putting it up on the forum, but a) its running the stock kernel, so can't be o/c-ed & b) couldn't be arsed with everyone saying "why doesn't it do this?" or "make it do that" Everyone wants to either o/c or u/v or both, so its a no go.
On the plus side, with the stock kernel, everything - bt, front cam, reader, etc - works out of the box. And tbh, 1GHz is fine for me - well, look at the scores!
Peace
Sorry I'm new here but what's the most stable sense based rom with excellent battery life both standby time and on screen time wise? Thanks in advance

i had great battery life with the stock duo rom, even with a 2.1 GHz overclocked kernel. at least 24 and a couple times close to 36 with medium use. but then i went jellybean and fell in love. but if you optimize your cpu usage, battery life will come with it

These threads are pointless, here is why:
Do you have the same apps as the next person that comments? The same sync setup? Same signal? Same color of wallpaper? GPS on? BT on? Auto-brightness? Etc, etc, etc....
Get it? Flash some and see for yourself. That's why Winston Churchill invented the nandroid.

I was more or less looking for suggestions and peoples experiences with different roms they've tried because certain roms do reflect better battery life then others. Like BB for just about any phone supported usually gives better battery life because its close to stock with little modifications and custom kernel. I agree with your points, but its nice to get other peoples experiences. But so well noted, I'll avoid this pointless topic for now on.

Hi to all!
I'm currently run CodenameAndroid 3.6.6 stock kernel w/VRLHE modem. I currently have tried every ROM know to the vzw Galaxy S III. Not a big fan of touch wiz but still tried them as well just because they are pretty decent on battery. Anyways I'm currently running on 7 hours 7 min and still have 51% battery with 2 hours of screen time about 20 minutes on browser time. 4g LTE on the whole time, sync on maybe 5-10 min.Everything else off. However I do have the s3 underclocked to 1.026 ghz just because I hardly play games, and jellybean runs fantastic underclocked. No lag and you wouldnt ever tell it was underclocked. I will however bring clock back up to stock and test.

In my opinion codename gave me the worst battery life but the latest cm10 nightlies are surprisingly stable and battery efficient. If you haven't been on cm10 in a while I'd check that out but if I were you I wouldn't be looking to a new rom and risk losing that awesome battery life. For me, good battery life's a hard thing to find.

Yes. You are being the tool here sir. Do you realize how sick of these style threads most everyone here is? They get locked all the time by mods even. People need to learn how to take some frigging initiative and read threads on their own instead of asking everyone else to spoon feed them the answer they are looking for.
You sir are correct. These types of threads nearly always turn into a "whip it out, mine is better than yours" thread.
@OP, best thing to do is go into dev section and read the OPs of the ROMs you'd think you'd like and then read about the last 10 pages in each to get a feel. If you like, then start reading.

I'm an AOSP guy personally, but I do greatly appreciate your input!
theres an entire original development section here. do some research and find what works best for you and what you need out of a rom.
being fast isnt a valid criteria.

I'm really just looking to see what others experiences have been, I've had my fair share of ROMs on this thing. Not as many stock, as I always felt they were slower, but still, plenty.
I also have done PLENTY of reading, hence the reason why I have never had to make a post before, I find my questions answers in my reading.
So I take offense to your comment ddurand. I'd like personal preference and input, not criticism on my research techniques.
everyones phone works differently. you just need to try things and see what you like and what fits you best.
theres threads all over like this with comparisons. heres another good one besides the one posted above (http://forum.xda-developers.com/showthread.php?t=2030478)
asking for peoples personal opinion will net you 10+ different roms to try.
dont take it too seriously, im just trying to help.
its just how it works. you need to flash ROMs to see what works best on your phone.
I think nottas paranoid android is a great candidate. Other than the pie interface and hybrid ui stuff, it's basically AOSP. It's also compiled with linaro. I think the minimal features really help keep it smooth and fast.
