Has anyone else got the message saying their phone is not eligible to be unlocked - Motorola Photon Q 4G LTE

It took me 3 hrs to finally get my unlock code from the phone, and once i put it in on the Motorola website, it tells me that my device is not eligible to be unlocked!!! Anyone know why this may be? Or if there is anything i can do?

Yea, copying and pasting it from the Windows cmd prompt make it a PITA.
Just be careful to only get the letters/numbers - don't copy . or "INFO", etc. They mention this all on the site, I just completed the process .

Alternative to unlock bootloader

Hopefully there is a developer out there who has a lot more knowledge than myself who might be able to answer this for me. Why do we need to run an unlock from Asus to unlock out bootloader? Why should they know that we have unlocked our devices and keep tabs on our devices?
I own an Acer A500 Tablet also. This tablets comes shipped with a locked boot loader, however Acer do not provide an option of unlocking.
The Acer devs run a routine called 'ItsMagic' to bypass the locked bootloader. Here is a link to the XDA thread http://forum.xda-developers.com/show....php?t=1121543
Is this an option for our TF700T?

Because the bootloader is cryptographically signed and the key is embedded in the CPU, different for each device, and only Asus knows it, so the unlock code must be retrieved from their server.

Such exploits are very device-specific, and that method would not work on the TF700.

+1 Unfortunately we are locked into Asus's unlocking process. :silly:
Thanks for the reply.
I just thought I would put it out there as at the end of the day we are simply running an Android device with common software. I thought we might be able to by-pass the official bootloader like they do with the A500 using itsmagic and therefor not actually using a bootloader that checks the hardware for hidden IDs.
I only ask as I cannot for the life of me get my bootloader unlocked with the Asus unlock tool.. Keeps coming back with the network connection issue error... I really want to put another ROM on it and I cant at the moment. I will just have to keep trying every couple of days ..
Of the 5 Android devices I currently own, this one is causing me the most frustration as the standard ROM is terribly laggy.
Anyhow. Thanks again guys.

Keep trying the Asus servers. I know people who have unlocked recently.
Which country are you in <Just saw an Aussie flag>? Is it possible to use a proxy to spoof US or GB to maybe give you more chance that way?
Something else you might try is turning off "Google's location service" under settings>location services. I was helping a friend update their Xoom the day after updates were announced and it kept saying tablet up to date. Then she unchecked Google location service and she got the update on the very next try.

Thanks for the suggestion but I have tried this. No Luck.
I have also tried tethering to my mobile phone and using my 3g service. No Luck.
I have also spoofed my location using a location spoof app in hope to pick up a different server. No Luck.

Just keep trying, it took me three days trying 10 times in the morning, lunch, afternoon, night, just before bed....finally it worked after hundreds of tries.
I highly recommend cromi Rom. It's the best so far.
I decided to investigate my unlock issue a little more tonight.
I set up wireshark to capture the packets being sent to see what server they are trying to connect to and what response if any was coming back.
It appears it is trying to connect to the ASUS server in Taiwan on 103.10.4.96
No response is being received. When I ping the server I also get nothing back. This tells me that the server is either being blocked somewhere outside my router OR more than likely the server is down at ASUS.
As far as people saying to try spoof location etc. This will not work as I believe that all TF700Ts would be attempting to connect to the same server @ 103.10.4.96 Regardless of what location I spoofed my location as, the same server address was always chosen.
I will just have to keep pinging the server every so often until I get a response and then try to unlock my unit.
P.S I just performed a traceroute and the request gets out of my network and my isp network, gets lost @ asianetcom.net who are unable to complete the lookup.
I just unlocked a couple weeks ago..in my downloads folder I have "Unlock_Device_App_V7.apk" but I am not familiar with what's actually going on when you unlock. Are you trying to download the unlock tool and can't get it, or do you have the package and getting an error when trying to unlock? I have no problem getting this apk to you if that's all you need? Anybody who knows more about the process think this is ok? Would it work if I gave him the apk I have...and is that apk that he needs?

I have the tool installed. That is not the issue. The issue is the 'network error' that is well known. Thanks for your reply anyhow. The server used to unlock the devices at ASUS appears to be down at the moment. I just need to keep trying for when it may be up again.

[Q] HTC Locked...even with GMail.

Phone is locked...can't unlock with my gmail. I'm assuming its because the wi-fi and mobile network are off. How can I unlock it? Also I can't reboot because my volume button doesn't work.
Isn't there a "skip" or something that lets you get into the phone without logging in? To log in though, you need internet. Your phone needs to talk to Google's servers to validate your account.

I don't understand "no internet at all." If you just don't have access right now, just find your nearest free WiFi hotspot. If your phone's WiFi and mobile data is just broken, and if your phone is stock, yes, you need a new phone.
Have you booted up this phone in the past and logged in before? Or is this the first time that the phone has been logged into? Or has the phone ever been wiped of user data? What has been done to the phone (S-Off, S-On, bootloader unlock)?
I haven't done anything to the phone before and yes it is stock.I turned off the wi-fi and internet before it got locked that's why I have no access to internet.

Here's exactly what happened...
I turned off the wi-fi and internet on my phone and while I was showering my sister tried unlocking my phone. She did it to the point that I had to put in my gmail stuff and when I did it just kept saying either the username or password were incorrect. So after I went on my computer to make sure my gmail stuff was correct and it is correct.
Now I was hopping there was some way of unlocking it without doing the reboot because the volume button doesn't work...so the reboot was never really an option in the first place.

OK, now I get it; maybe start with that amount of descriptiveness in the future to avoid wasting time. You can reboot with ADB. But I have no idea if that lets you unlock the phone.

Can't you take out the battery and power off the phone..
Or just flash the rom again..

I mean I guess...I don't think you can cook milk though.Just heat it up...
Anyways...my issue at hand is not being able to unlock my phone.
I had a pattern lock then my sister started trying to unlock it because she thinks she knows everything. She obviously didn't know my password...so then the gmail log-in pops up and I put it in but it says incorrect password or username. Both my password and username are correct though because I logged in through a computer. So my assumption is that it doesn't recognize my gmail log-in because I turned off my mobile network and the wi-fi.
More clarification?
I think we already determined that you can try rebooting, either with ADB or by pulling the battery.

Let me guess, you have not rooted your phone yet..
So, you CAN'T use ADB to reboot
Also, you have not tried removing the battery.
Only thing is take out the battery and put it back. POWER ON and you will come back to lockscreen..
I assume you know the correct pattern to unlock it..
Well, in most of the phones , it gives a 30 second time-out after too many wrong attempts..
@MODERATORS PLEASE CLOSE THE THREAD AS THERE IS NOTHING MUCH GOING ON HERE AND ALL THINGS GOING ON HERE CAN BE EVEN GOOGLED ON INTERNET..!:good:

How To Sim Unlock The SM-G360T1

Before I get into it, let me just start by saying that I have spoken to MetroPCS and they have confirmed that this phone was specifically set up to use the "Device Unlock" app ONLY, which means that there are no unlock codes or any other procedures(not Chimera or any other one) that will unlock this device.
For those of you who don't know too, you MUST wait until after 90 days of service with MetroPCS on this device before you can unlock it. If you can't wait the 90 days, however, because you're going to travel or because you live outside of the country, I've been told that there is one other way to unlock this device through a third party service that works with MetroPCS and helps you unlock through the app as well, though it is more like "IMEI whitelisting" than an official unlock like you get with MetroPCS and you also have to pay.
---------------
Anyhow, now to get down to it. Here is the information on what you must do.
---------------
1) Wait The 90 Days - Actually, you should know first that MetroPCS does not count the extra day in the months with 31 days as part of the 90.[/B] In other words, if you bought your phone on the 10th of one month say, you have to wait for the 10th to come around again 3 months later.
2) Try Unlocking The Device - Go to the "Device Unlock" app in your app tray and try clicking on the "Permanent Unlock" button to see if it just works for you right away. I was not so lucky myself, but I've been told that it does simply just unlock for some people. If it did unlock that easily for you, then congratulations. That's it. You're done.
(NOTE: Make sure that it is actually unlocked though. See the attached images and step #4 below.)
---------------
If it still isn't unlocked after steps 1 & 2, then please read on...
---------------
3) Call MetroPCS - If it won't unlock, then MetroPCS may have placed a server side lock on your account for whatever reason. In this case, you will need to just call Metro and request that they go into their system and set "Allow Unlock" to "ON" for your device. It only takes them a few seconds to do, but the first 3 people I called some days before didn't even mention or seem to know that their system had this feature, so you have to ask. After they did this for me I was able to successfully unlock the device using the app.
4) Double Check That Your Device Is Actually Unlocked - After unlocking the device the app says that the "Device Is Permanently Unlocked"[/B] and prompts you to reboot. After rebooting though I recommend that you open the "Device Unlock" app again and make sure that it no longer contains the reboot menu(shown in the first picture attached below). If it keeps saying to reboot because the settings are not yet applied, then you are still not unlocked. You want it to look like the second picture I attached below and NOT the first. Try rebooting a few more times to see if this problem fixes itself.
(NOTE: If you still can't unlock fully and have rooted the device and have TWRP and the Xposed framework installed, then you can also try installing an Xposed module called "Good For Enterprise Disable Root Check" to see if that allows the unlock settings to apply. Otherwise just call Metro again to make sure you are unlocked.)
Anyhow, I sincerely hope this information helps you guys in unlocking your device!

Thanks for the input. I don't know much about boxes or how they might bypass MetroPCS's server side lockdown on this device, but I'm assuming they're some sort of universal hacker tool that you hook phones up to and that you have to buy. Probably not a viable solution for most people. Sounds just sketchy enough too to maybe cause your phone's IMEI to get blacklisted. Perhaps there's no other option for those outside of the country who can't get MetroPCS service though? I don't know. :/
Outside US or if you dont want to pay 3 months of 50$ each (i like metro pcs, and use metropcs when in usa, but mostly im away and rather to pay an unlock to mantain the line) You have to pay an imei whitelisting for unlock device app. I found one 100% working for 24$, many cheaper or expensive were suspicious. PM if you want to know

Could you explain please?

EDIT: So after a quick google search it is fairly obvious what it is.
So all I have to do is wait 90 days, then call them asking for them to unlock my device, then run Device Unlock and my device will be unlocked?

Yeah, it's awesome! After the unlock you can switch your phone to any service provider, but best if all you can use temporary international sim cards if you ever go outside the country and have regular service elsewhere while you travel and just put your MetroPCS account on hold in the meantime. Right now you can not though. Just wait the 90 days and just use the Device Unlock app that should be in your phone after that. If it doesn't work after 90 days of continuous service on this phone, then you do have to call them though and ask them to allow the unlock on their end in their system first. Read my post again maybe for more details about that. Also, it's not really 90 days, it's 3 months to the day, which means the 3rd to the 3rd of the month or the 10th to the 10th of the month or whatever. Hope this helps. Mine's unlocked now and I'm happy.

Unfortunately no. I've tried extracting the apk for people, but it can't be installed properly because it's hardwired into the system.
To get the unlock app on your device again you will either have to...
1) Download the official stock firmware from here and reflash it with ODIN:
http://www.sammobile.com/firmwares/download/53271/G360T1UVU1AOFA_G360T1TMB1AOFA_TMB/
(Instructions are on that page and no data is lost during this painless flashing process.)
Or...
2) Install SlimPickins rom from here:
http://forum.xda-developers.com/showthread.php?p=63868639
It's a much lighter, debloated, version of our stock firmware(which saves you lots of space on your phone). I'm running it myself, but it requires you to have installed...
Root: http://forum.xda-developers.com/showthread.php?p=62859013
And...
TWRP: http://forum.xda-developers.com/showthread.php?p=62955166
Also, you have to install GAPPS(the Google suite with apps like Play Store, etc) separately at the same time you install the rom. This allows you to pick how much space Google apps take up on your phone and which apps you do and do not want.
Anyhow, either option will give you the Device Unlock app back.

Try connecting via Wi-Fi instead of data. If that doesn't work then try restarting your device and attempting with Wi-Fi again. If it still doesn't work, then it is likely their server being bogged down, so just try waiting awhile(possibly up to a day). Also, I'm sure you are, but just in case you're not, you must be in the US for the app to work.

Not in use bro, seems you are right.I"ll just leave the phone till good reliable unlock is available
Device unlock
Aside from all these extra steps it's pretty easy. I just open my app drawer and opened 'Device Unlock'. Right at the top it said permanent unlock so i clixked it, after 10 seconds if asked if I wanted to reboot. Once it finished rebooting it completely removed the device unlock and said it was permanently done . So if you don't feel like talking to metro to do it just try with the app it worked for me. Saved me 20 mins of being on hold. And shout out to Bogarty and everyone else working to optimize our device !!

Glad it worked for you right off the bat. It didn't for me. Mine was locked on their end. People should definitely just try the app first. That's good advice. Maybe I should include that in the OP. Thanks! They do still have to wait the 90 days of service though as I'm sure you did. Everyone just needs to make sure it no longer shows the reboot menu in the app after rebooting like in the pictures I posted. It may say "device is permanently unlocked", but if they still see reboot options, then the unlock settings have not yet been applied. Mine didn't apply the first few times because of a conflict between security settings and root. Curious if you were rooted at the time as that can pose some issues on some devices as I mentioned.

Definitely had to wait 90 days and then some.
But the unlocking itself like I said was about 10 secs and a reboot.
Were you rooted when you unlocked the phone ?

Yes. So far all I had done was the root.

[SOLVED] How can I get unlock code for ATT Captivate?

I got it at a thrift store for $5, a real score. Nice screen, not a bad little device to play around with. It's running 2.3.5. I spent a good half a day figuring out how to root it and was successful. As far as getting the unlock code, the one click galaxy unlocker gave me a 5 digit code of 001010 or something like that. So I read here on XDA that you could read the NV with terminal emulator and Find the code. I got in the NV no problem but where the code should've been it was encrypted, just a bunch of nonsense. So anyway now am stuck, anyone have any place to point me? Thanks!
EDIT: I downloaded "Boite Outils" which I believe is a French version of "Galaxy_S Unlocker". Galaxy_S Unlocker wont even show up in the Google Play sore, so use the French version. Once you got it, click on EFS on the top menu. Then click on #1, then after that click on option #2. Your phone will then reboot and it will be unlocked
Using My T-Mobile SIM with no problems. Hope this helps a few people out.

on your account check the email address if its correct or not, also check your spam folder, re enter your email address or signed in with different email address, normally it takes 1 to 2 min for them to send you email once they say it can be unlocked.
Someone told me that Moto wasn't doing anything like that right now because of covid
But I thought these codes we're auto generated
