Backlight bleed in p3100 - Galaxy Tab 2 Q&A, Help & Troubleshooting

Hi there guys.i just bought p3100 from uae .it's the 16 gb 3g gsm version.i was happy with the tab up until now.i noticed when the brightNess is set to max and i am in really dark room, when watching a black screen in a movie there is certain noticeable backlight bleed from the 4 corners of the tab.however they arnt noticeable when the brightness is toned down or when the environment has enuff light.so i guess hopefully it won't hamper my day to day use.but i expected my 350 usd tab to be perfect so kinda feel sad.i Googled and saw that certain amnt of backlight bleed is normal in almost all ips lcds.so i wanted to kno if any lf u guys had backlight bleed in maxd brightness too,or m i the only unlucky one.would greatly appreciate a quick reply.o and fyi i can't return the tab.cause i live in Bangladesh.and the tab was bought from uae by a frnd during a one tym trip.

Any input guys???

I own a p3110 and it does not have the backlight bleed that u mention but maybe thats because its just a week old i dunno

To look for it u have max thr bright.go into a dark room.and bring up sumthing black in the didplay and then look at the corners and see if there is any extra light seeping out.did u check lyk dat.cause otherwise under normal circumstances its pteety unnoticable.

Idid exactly what u posted above me and i still don't notice any bleed.

Sidekick 4g has glow in the dark buttons?!?!?!

So you thought one of the sidekick 4g's design flaws was that you couldn't see the primary buttons (home, jump, menu, and back) in the dark, well think again. If u hold your sidekick under a light for about a minute, the four keys will glow, this is so sick and i think its another thing that gives the sidekick one of the most unique phone designs.
reply whether or not ur sk4g glows too.
Mine glow DD

Yea I had noticed that I thhought my phone had gotten screwed up lol
Sent from my SGH-T839 using XDA Premium App
I still think that this is a bad thing because you have to charge the buttons with a significant amount of light, and if you had enough light to do that it would defeat the need of buttons that light up. Although I must say my friends still were pretty jealous that their buttons didn't look as cool.

Seriously though, i don't thinks there's a diy fix for this. I think you may have to change your screen

I have this too because I lightly stepped on my screen and there's about two or three marks. I'm assuming the only way to fix it would be to replace the screen. I think I may have damaged the hardware too because the screen shuts off randomly some times.
You probably need a new "digitizer"
If you look on ebay they are currently selling for around $60
Also go to youtube and look for a tutorial on how to do it. Here is one I found - search on this

September if you backed them on kick starter, early 2013 for everyone else. I'm actually a fan of the black and white screen. It's more readable in direct sunlight, unlike a color LCD. To me, it still has to be a watch, which means being able to read and use it easily. I wouldn't want a full color screen because I don't intend for it to replace my phone, but rather to supplement it and add convenience to certain aspects, such as taking a quick glance to see who's calling or checking a text without taking my phone out. Oh yeah, and it takes WAY less battery than a color screen. There's a bunch of other cool features. Can't wait for it!! By the way, if you are looking for a color screen, the same company already has a previous model that you may be interested in..albeit not as versatile as the new model.. http://getinpulse.com

of course SL is my first galaxy phone.. so it has a lot of sentimental value to me, all those epic noobish ways of not flashing and still ended up my SL and did not know there was this "USB jig savior".. and end up paying PHP500 to sammy's service center..

WTF??!!? My mom has an S2 that I drool over and the screen is amazing... The bright vivid colors with the extremely deep blacks... The contrast is amazing and LEVELS HIGHER then the screen of the SL.
Ontopic: The Galaxy S2 will have significantly better gaming performance because of its lower resolution screen (480 x 800). Obviously if you take the Gnex you will be guaranteed updates but both devices have a large developer conmunity behind it (Currently S2's is a bit larger) so your not going to get screwed either way. Imho would choose S2 because of its screen and gaming performance. I have NOVA3 installed on my moms S2 and it works smoothly without a single lag or overclock. Anyways, all comes down to personal preference

oh well, that is your opinion.. for me, i love how detailed and vibrant the SL's screen is compared to S2's (which has several complaints about screen stuffs: visible lines across the screen, odd tints, etc)

HTC One X Screen Replacement Help Please!

I just received a screen from a fellow XDA member today and so I took it all apart and removed the old LCD/Digi and test the new one on the motherboard but there's no response. It is ON and I plugged it in as much as it can go. Please look at the images and tell me if there's something missing or idk... this is my only phone too. =( thanks
Your missing an important pic. Back of the LCD. From what I can see from what's here. Its all good. Now also are you testing without full assembly?
Sent from my One X using xda premium
alright will do, have to borrow my brothers camera again tomorrow.
Make sure when you testing, your fully assembled. I know it sucks.

The back shell shouldn't matter when testing the screen
i followed a video that said to test the LCD screen the way it is in the pic and his turned on. mine never did.

Sent from my One X using xda premium
yeah this guy is very clear in some parts.
what is the orange tape on the jaw bone connectors for? is it necessary?
does the back of the LCD need the adhesive on it cuz I dont have that,
and how hard should I press the LCD into the frame? it seems in, idk if it will help
Mine had the tape on it. Did not replace an of them.

I'd get some adhesive. Plus depending on quality you might want to concider butting some silicon around the glass to LCD for dust reasons

That looks like the wrong screen model for the AT&T HTC One X. I am not entirely sure, but I believe you need the exact screen model specified for the AT&T model which has the AT&T logo at the top. Someone suggested http://pages.ebay.com/link/?nav=item...d=180915293231 It came from this thread http://forum.xda-developers.com/showthread.php?t=1839060

There is the chance then that the system board has the issue then. Does it seem like it boots up? aka making the startup sounds.
